Segments

  • Prom stories and school dances 0:00–7:06
A host (speaker-1) recounts going to post-prom at age 20 with Pants, who snuck him in, and spending eight hours on a giant inflatable slide until the ride operator made him leave, wearing a hole in his pants. The hosts trade school-dance gripes: dates in tall heels making shorter guys feel short, dancing badly on purpose, fudge rounds in the pocket as a hit, and one host's story of going to his senior prom solo in a brown van with a 20-piece chicken platter from Long John Silver's.
  • 'Buzz Attends A Wedding' YouTube dance promo 7:06–8:23
Matt (speaker-2) promotes his YouTube video 'Buzz Attends A Wedding' — footage of himself doing the MC Hammer / Vanilla Ice dance at a wedding. The hosts joke about finding a six-foot-five woman who dances the same way for a side-by-side, agree to play it during the break, and rib him that his only motive is more video hits.
  • Break setup: Facebook page, Pants Skype call, Chutney's tease 8:23–10:08
The hosts announce their new Facebook page (18 fans; at 25 fans they get a custom username, facebook.com/livefromthepath), plan to Skype Pants in after the break, tease the Chutney's chicken story and a couple of Olsen stories, and sign off as live from the path on desmoineamplified.com.
  • Post-break return and stray bits 16:34–17:55
Back from break, the hosts trade stray comedy bits: a fake Vanilla Ice intro, outrage that ketchup bottles are now painted red inside, a 'dirty cat' named Chris, and a group reaction to watching Matt's wedding-dance video — with Ben named on-air as present in the studio ('Judging by Ben's face'), though Ben is not identified with any speaker label.
  • The failed Pants Skype call 17:56–22:22
The hosts try to Skype Pants in — the show's produced intro voiceover man, talked about often on-air — but the stream delay makes real conversation impossible. They ask how he got his name Pants, a question never answered because they have to let him go, and joke that he is 'pulling the Dan' as he goes silent and non-responsive.
  • Keith Olsen, the downtown food court, and the homeless man 22:23–29:24
A host tells the story of Keith Olsen, the realtor for the building they broadcast from, and the sketchy downtown food court they dub 'the dungeon' (also floated: 'the dirty factory'). Over lunch there he watched a homeless man with a half-Rollie-Fingers mustache see Olsen's leasing sign and start chanting 'greedy Keith Olsen… chutneys chicken chicken chicken,' blaming Olsen for the closed Blimpy's and its defunct coin program.
  • Mustaches, dated Christian fashion, and Tammy Faye 29:34–33:29
Spinning off the mustache riff, the hosts debate who has a distinct but outdated look: Ron Goldman's handlebar mustache, the claim that the more public a Christian you are the more likely you dress ten or fifteen years behind the times, and the Tammy Faye Bakker / Jim Bakker / Jimmy Swaggart mix-ups (transcript spellings 'Tammy Faye Baker', 'Jim Baker', 'Jimmy Swagger'). After chat notes Tammy Faye died of cancer, it veers into writing one's burial-dress instructions into a will.
  • Burial clothes, morticians, and the 'happy police' 33:29–47:48
The hosts debate what to be buried in — not a suit if you never wore one — and how the dead get dressed: a host whose brother-in-law is a mortician explains they cut the backs off the clothes and blanket them over. They recall the biblical death-squad that wrapped the dead in linens (the Acts 5 land-exchange story), Golden Girls and the Golden Palace, and answer chat's questions about dressing corpses. A host (speaker-1) says he and Mike are brothers and that at funerals they act as the 'happy police,' ignoring the death and telling funny stories, and admits he is bad with mourning people.
  • Managing the oil-change shop: Stoney gets arrested 47:48–51:28
A host (speaker-1) tells how, while managing an oil-change shop, he hired a wayward housemate the transcript calls Stoney — real name Matt Stone, with the line 'Ben called him Stoney' — who walked out of the basement pit with a $50 bill, was arrested in uniform in the parking lot, and was fired the same day. He then caught the entire night staff smoking weed on the back doorstep and fired every one of them.
  • Matt's Dairy Queen rant 51:29–59:27
Matt (speaker-2) vents at length about the Altoona Dairy Queen: at 9:30 p.m. they told him they were out of chocolate ice cream for his chocolate-ice-cream Reese's Blizzard — 'you don't run out of chocolate ice cream' at a place that specializes in ice cream. The hosts pile on: a gas station out of gas, Burger King running out of Whoppers, Quick Trip's pay-inside button requiring a pump-start card, and Matt defecting to Culver's.
  • Smoothies, Cold Stone upsells, and the rant spills over 59:30–1:02:31
A host describes a peanut-butter-and-jelly smoothie with a free 'energy' additive from a Des Moines juice company; Zach (speaker-0, addressed by name on-air) complains Cold Stone upsold him seven times for a single cup; and the Dairy Queen and Keith Olsen riffs flare back up, including 'I will bust a cap at Keith Olsen.'
  • Olsen threats, skywalk manners, and old job stories 1:02:32–1:07:00
After more Keith Olsen and Dairy Queen riffing plus a skywalk etiquette gripe (walk on the left) and a lament over the missing Blimpy's, a host (speaker-1) tells how he quit a financial-institution job and got his old job back the same day, and recalls a night gig he shared with Mike delivering Federal Reserve checks by van on the airport tarmac — including getting knocked by a jet blast that moved the van 30 feet.
  • What the show is about: 'Jesus and food' 1:07:00–1:07:48
Answering chat's question 'what's the main purpose of the show?', a host answers 'Jesus and food' — describing it as four dudes trying to stay on the path talking about what Jesus might talk about in a given week. They plug Pathway Church in Johnston (Sundays 10 a.m. at Wallace Elementary), thepathonline.org, and livefromthepath.org. Dan is noted as absent this week.
  • The newborn, the longest Psalm, and patience 1:07:49–1:12:00
A host (speaker-1) shares a 'Jesus moment': up at 2:30 a.m. feeding his week-old daughter, having just read Proverbs and then the longest Psalm (Psalm 119) before bed, he decides to get up and change her dirty diaper rather than leave it — and wonders why his patience is unlimited for his baby but not for other people. He connects it to Jesus' ministry and 'turn the other cheek': 'The Lord wants my cheek here. I'll move it when he tells me to' — an approach he says he discussed with Ben on the way up.
  • Lazarus, burial in the desert, and Alaska 1:12:00–1:13:53
The hosts riff on the raising of Lazarus — Jesus telling them to open the tomb, 'he's been dead for three days, it stinks' — tie it back to desert burial practices from the earlier segment, and detour into an unverified claim, sourced only to 'something I read on the Internet,' that Alaska has a high death rate from depression and drinking.
  • Sign-off 1:13:54–1:14:29
Thank-yous, desmoineamplified.com, the Pathway Church in Johnston plug, livefromthepath.org for past shows and commercials, and 'we'll be back next Monday from ten to midnight.'
  • 'Old Man Jonah' rapture song 1:17:16–1:18:14
A studio participant (speaker-4) performs an original song about 'Old man Jonah' — no teeth, no hair, no daughter, no son — waiting for the rapture, holding the old brass horn he has had since the day he was reborn and refusing to blow it until then.
  • 'The Lonely Goatherd' outro 1:22:18–1:23:26
A participant (speaker-3) sings the yodeling 'lonely goatherd' number ('High on the hill was a lonely goatherd… lay on lay on lay hee-hoo') over the close of the show.

And she was there at dinner. She was there at the dance, and she's up in the balcony waving at you. You're just thinking, ah, come on. You know, probably angles. It sounds probably expensive back in the day too for those film. Right? Yeah. Like, it was a digital camera style. Right. Yeah. And it was just one of those things and that you're just like, man, can we just get

some away away time? Not that you you weren't trying to do anything bad or whatever. It's just like yeah. You're just like, come on. I tell you the best the best time at prom I ever had. Boy, the wife's not gonna like this. I I love going to prom with your wife. I really did. But I went two years after I graduated from high school with I was gonna say two years ago No. No. First. I was like No. Two years. So I graduated high school and I went when I was 20 Right. With with Pants. Me and Nice. I I think Pants had a date or whatever, but he he snuck me into this post prom. And the part the cool part was is, like, I didn't have any social agendas to live up to. Yeah. Like, I didn't have to go talk to anybody. I didn't have to go get my picture taken. I didn't have to pretend to give birth. I didn't have to get hypnotized. So I played on the giant inflatable Pretend to give birth. Yeah. They do that like like That sounds weird. They hypnotize people and then they have the dudes pretend they give them birth. Oh, okay. Alright. Yeah. Well, it's just it's just the way you transitioned into that. Yeah. Yeah. That was just like it was a You said something about me. Birth and this is about hypnotist. Now that's where we had to kinda back up for a second there.

Well, you got are you are are we on board now? I'm on board now. We're hypnotist giving birth? Yes. Now now it's making sense. Okay. So so so anyway, I spent all that. Know who was giving birth at this point. Do I get that one? Yeah. Exactly. I assume it's a guy. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Gotcha. So I spent eight hours on this giant inflatable slide. I wore a hole in my pants. Right. I mean, I my my boxes were showing when I left at four in the morning. All the other kids going out to breakfast, whatever Right. Job that I'm supposed to be reporting to, I have places to be. You know, I I mean, I I have responsibilities. I'm only two years out of high school, but I have stuff that I've lined up. Right. You know, and I have I mean, a basketball sized hole in my drawers with my boxies hanging out because I was playing on this little slide. A pants lift, pants get well, he did something else. I mean, I'm by myself, right? Right. Yep. It was the best time of my life. I mean, I stopped I stopped to get a soda after prom. And go to the bathroom. Other than that, eight hours solid on this slide and it was good times. The guy who who runs the ride actually had to ask me to leave because he was ready to pack up and go home. And I didn't wanna go. I was like, can I can I just go one more time? He said, you said that last time and here you're still here. Last twelve minutes. It was it was I had a really good time. You know I always hated about about the the school dances is I mean the girls always got to wear the longest heels and I'm not an incredibly tall guy

not really tall at all really. You don't wouldn't I'm short but I'm not tall. And so like I don't like being shorter unnaturally shorter than than than my date. Than your date. You know like it's one thing if you are taller than me it's just like I gotta live without I'm not gonna expect you to squat down just to make me feel good but it's like you are wearing you are wearing eight inch

heels and now you look you know what mean? Like I don't have a problem with it but the pictures like like I don't wanna unnaturally look short And you don't wanna be insulted because you're you got some fake heights going on. Well yeah and don't wanna be insulted by hey why don't come over and stand on this box. Right? Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. It's like you know So you can look And I don't have a problem with the shoes in general elsewhere but we're taking pictures Right. Let let's have a natural height situation going on. Don't have that issue. I I want It's true. Yeah. You're you're very tall. To you so bad. Yeah. I guess, but I I just can't. That'd be one behemoth woman. It was she's yeah. It's true. If it it is how tall are how tall are you anyway? I'm six five and a half. Six six maybe with shoes on. Let's go with that. Okay? K. I'm with But I I have met one girl, She was, I think six seven. That's why was Did arm wrestle her? No. Gosh. No. Yeah. Stay away from that. She was no. Yeah. I did. She was I wouldn't do. Was well, she I mean, she looked like a nice lady. I mean, I never actually met her, but it was just weird to be standing next to a lady who was I just saw her at the zoo. Exactly. Exactly. She she was part of the circus. Behind the bars, everything else. It was way, you know. But I mean, it's just kinda weird to see like, oh my gosh. I mean, like, I'm like, I've never had this issue before with a girl. Like, guys. It's true. Yeah. Mean, I've walked guys that are tall. Would it be really weird if you locked eyes and and then you both instantly thought we're enemies? Exactly.

We're too much alike. Yeah I don't like this at all it's just weird. I really try and stretch myself to say I'm five eleven. Not close. I mean it's like it's like five ten and a quarter. Do you spike your hair for the extra inch? Yeah. I I can get a good kind of Luke Perry swoops going up here and

but yeah. I try and I try and stretch it and and I I gave up on that because I just I'm not even close to That would be kind of funny if like the amusement ride bear that always sticks his hand out and says you gotta be this tall. Like animatronics laughed at you if you didn't make it. No. No. I went to I went to my c I I only went to one dance when I was in high school, and it was my senior prom. And I went to I went on my own. Is everything alright, Matt? Sorry. I just heard you. I tried to see myself. I can't switch the camera to me because there's no camera. So that's pretty much what we're looking at is you sticking your head at it. Oh, sweet. So I went to the senior prom on my own. And I really felt like I came off with the best night ever. So because I got to drive. I I went and ran into tux. I got to pick out the tux on my own. No one harassed me about what tux I'm gonna get. I drove myself in my brown van.

I stopped at Long John Silver's on the way and I got the big chicken platter. I mean, not whatever the three or four with the sides and the puppies. I got 20 pieces 20 chicken planks from the Long Johns and I eat them sitting in my car Chicken? Greasing myself. Yeah. Yeah. What about fish? Because they're nasty. The fish that they What I'm saying is lodge on stover, that's what they're known for. They're known for fish. I don't think so. I think they really are known for their chicken. So the chicken is excellent. I'm not saying it's not excellent. Not saying you're just so hyped up. You're so wrapped up on chicken all the time. Haven't talked to you before. You're anti chicken. That's why. Not anti chicken. Just saying branch out a little bit is all I'm saying. Man, every time somebody mentions chicken, your blood what I grilled I grilled a nice tuna a week ago. So how do you feel about that? I don't like tuna. Well, come on. So

You're making it hard. You're just making it difficult now. I'm indignated. It's not his fault you hate chicken. I'm not anti chicken. Really? Just wanted to branch out a little bit. I've seen anti chicken people You're him. You're You get fish at Lodge on so that's what you do. No. You don't get chicken. It

doesn't even make any sense. He's disgusting. What are hush puppies anyway? I don't know. They're good though. It's all it is. I don't know who came up with the Chicken. No. I it's not chicken. Not chicken. Anyway, so I would so I went in this thing, and I got to go on my own. I got to get there when I wanted to, and I I I walked in loaded with loaded with treats. I had, like, fudge rounds in my pocket, and I was I was a hit. It's true. Chicks were taking fudge rounds from me left and right. That's truth. Yeah. That was that's the end in the story. There's a lot of pressure in dances you know and I do the frog.

Yeah. I can't I can't do any legitimate dances. No. I think it's best to dance terribly on purpose. Yeah. Yeah. Because you're not gonna come up with a legitimate dance you know it's not like those those teen movies where everyone seems to know the dance ahead of time. Yeah. Yeah. Right. And they're synchronized when they do it too. It's just like they've been doing this for years. And there's that always that really cool kid in the middle that really rocks it you know they all spread apart and then they get See I was that cool kid, that's my problem. Okay? Check out YouTube sometime. Okay? I'm on YouTube. I want you to check this out. I'm gonna promote myself Did you do this? Chicken dance? No. I did. I got Jiggy with it. Okay? Did the MC Hambro slash Vanilla Ice Dance. Okay? So it's at Buzz Attends A Wedding. Go check it out if you haven't seen it. I'm sorry. What was it? Buzz Attends A Wedding. Yes. It is. Okay. Yes. It's me at a wedding basically busting a move. Alright? So again, back live in studio too. Is that is that well, maybe we could do that live. So we'll see. I'll see how much more Mountain Dew I get in. Maybe a couple more of energy shots. We should be good to go. So

I'm scared about this whole this whole thing coming up here. Yeah. Not only the Internet video, but maybe the possible live show. It could be the Willy's. Exactly. Now I might actually pull a muscle. That's what I'm worried about right now. I'm trying to get that stage in my life. Attends is spelled wrong. It's a t t a n d s. I didn't put it on there, by the way. Is there any chance that there is a woman that woman that's exactly your height that did the same thing at a wedding somewhere? Can you try to find that video? Oh my goodness. If we could find that, I'd be so We could side by side this operation. I'm a woman Six foot five six foot five woman that can dance like Vanilla Ice slash MC Hammer. Now, are you saying that you that I mean, did you think it was pretty good or it's really Like a mockery. Yeah. You got it? No. It was it was pretty good. I got it. It was pretty good. Is it Matt? I'll put it

It's not even playing. I'm just laughing at it. I'll put We'll put it on during the break. When we get ready to take a break, I'll put it on so you can watch it during the, during the break. A matter of fact, maybe we'll go ahead, we'll go ahead and take a quick break.

You Coming out can't get down to Court Avenue. I think we'll come back. We'll come back with pants. We're gonna call pants on the we're gonna give Skype a shot, and we're gonna call pants. We talk about pants quite a lot, so we thought we'd Skype him in. Cool. We're going to we're gonna talk to him after the break. We'll see if we can hook up with that. During the middle of the break, I will turn on. We'll see if we get this Matt Cassidy video up dancing at a wedding. I'll be impressed. You've done this to yourself, and thank you so much so far for listening to live from the Path. I just want I just want to get more hits on my video. That's the reason why I'm doing this right now. Got what like five or 10 or maybe so hopefully this will like How many times did they let you log in a day? Five? They have five or 10. I mean, I've got a lot on there but I think they're all me. I'll go check it out. Alright. Well, thanks. You know what we can do? I'm really excited about it now. Everybody at home, we've got a a Facebook page now, live from the past, do a search. And we might be able to just post that around the Facebook page. Can we do that? Can we embed it? Yeah. I we probably can. So so a word about the Facebook page. Last I checked today, we've got 18 fans. And if we get to 25, which I have no doubt that that will far surpass that. At 25,

we can have our own username which would be live from the path. Oh, wow. So you can then find us at facebook.com/livefromthepath. So we gotta get a few more. If you're not a fan of ours on Facebook right now, we gotta get you on there. We can get to twenty five and you can find us directly. We'll put Matt Cassidy's video up there and that'd be great. Alright. Sounds good. Well, we're gonna take a quick break. Olsen, we're gonna come back. I'm we're gonna talk about that chutneys. We're talking about that chicken from chutneys. I think that's interesting. I had a couple of stories about o o Olsen this week, but we'll be right back from break. You're live from the path of demorningamplified.com. Hello?

You there? Alright. Alright. It

was the fake vanilla ice intro. I don't hate him. I'm just not gonna give him my money. Yeah. I don't see Did you guys notice that they started painting the inside of the ketchup bottles red? Yeah. Nobody likes it. Nobody likes it. You know, that's outrageous. Like, I really I I had a a moral dilemma as to what to do. His name is Chris. He's a dirty cat. I know that of him. Even as a believer, I've seen people like that and go, man, you're a freak. Right? Who would not wanna believe. You need to own this too. Believe, you know? And

we're on the same team in theory. I am a doofus. That's like that time you claimed that you created the peanut butter that rolls up like a deodorant. I like that one. Well, you know, I've never ever said, I hope someone looks their literal interpretation of mine anyway.

Doing his his winning dance. It's fantastic, man. Thank you very much. No one else got to see it but me. I'm the only guy with the monitor here. But, I mean, I I would have watched it twice that people not been able to see that I was indulging in it and watching it multiple times. Wait. Getting goosebumps over here. Judging judging by Ben's face. It was it was fairly hilarious. So yeah. Yeah. I did I did I did very much like it. Alright. So we're gonna give this a shot and, and see if we,

have hooked up with old old pants there. Pants, are you there? Yeah. Yeah. I did I did I did very much like it. Alright. So we're gonna give this a shot and see if I hear something. Pants. Can hear his computer. Pants, are you there? Yep. Okay. Yep. Pants, you you can't listen to so you're hearing us on the delay. Like, Can you hear me? Yeah. I can hear you, but you're you're you're far behind.

You can't you can't watch it and talk to us at the same time. Oh, to the delay. I'm telling you. This is seamless. Gotcha. Oh, you got it. And we're back. Alright.

So you need so you need to, like, turn off turn off the, like, the r r show on the computer. And we're back. Alright. Oh, this will save me time later. I won't have to rewatch the show. It's a long delay.

Alright. I tell you what. Why don't you if you you're looking good. Like, we can see you pretty well. Pat, you're gonna have to turn off the show. Turn it off.

But go she wait seven seconds. I'm sure she's gonna bust a cap. I'm telling you right now. Hold on. I'm gonna wait till till you could hear us yelling at him. There we go. Nope. Pants, can you hear me now? Pants.

Yeah. It's still way behind. Hell yeah. Boy, this is a tech technological debacle. Oh my goodness. I don't know how I don't know how we would avoid this in the future. Did he get the name Pants? Pants? Well, no. Just wait a second. He'll tell us.

One. Pants, the question is how did you get your name Pants? We'll wait, basically. But now he can't hear the delay either

because he turned his computer What's he doing there? Pants, can can you see him? Is it is he doing anything? He's completely reacting to anything. Did he give up? He just did. This is terrible. Pants, get Pants, nod your head if you could hear anything at all, and I'll wait the six seconds or so. Talk amongst yourselves.

And then? No. This is Jake. What?

Alright. Pey Peyton. We're gonna have to let you go. Hey. We appreciate you seeing it. Yeah. Well okay. So we'll so we'll give this another shot. I'm gonna we we try this. Sneak in here in the early in the wee hours and give this a shot to see if we can get this looking up a little better. He appears to be on the chat, though. He appears to be using the chat. You can hear him typing.

You can hear his keys. I can't see what saying. Yourself, Pence. What's going on at your place? If there's a cardboard cutout of you looking into a camera What's going on at your place? If

there's a cardboard cut out of you looking into a camera, it's going on in your place. Why is this? I couldn't hear anything for a while. Okay. I I see that. Like, is there a way that you can pause our show but leave the audio on your computer up? That. Wait. Is there a way that you can pause our show but leave the audio on your computer up?

That I don't know. Okay. Fair enough. I tell you what. Pants Biz, we're we're gonna I'll go ahead and let you go, and we'll this a shot off off recording hours, and we'll see if we can see if we can get our our bugs worked out so that we're talking in real time. I didn't catch that.

I said I said, I'm a go ahead and let you go, and we'll we'll goodbyes. We'll try the we'll we'll see if we could work this out for next week so that we don't have the delay. Guys. We'll try to we'll we'll work this out. Okay. He's

pulling he's pulling the Dan. He's pulling the Dan. Get that in there for us. Good. That sound like an angel. Yeah. What's the Hudson? That was the best thing. So

No seriously. I like I know I know this can work. Like I know I've seen this work before. Like, there has to be a way to talk to him live. I I we've fouled it. I don't know what we've done here. Anyway You can always suspect it live. I have some issues. I told I told Olsen so I told him before the break in that we would I talked about this Chinese chicken. So, like like I said last week, Keith Olsen, he's a guy that goes to our church and he's the the realtor for the building that we're in.

I think I think that's still the case. Anyway, has he has buildings. It is Keith Olsen. He has, spaces available. He's wonderful. Anyway, so he tells me a story about like like the building that we're in has some issues. Now wait a minute. It's not gonna be deterrent to the building this story. Right? Because then no one will want to buy it from him after you tell the story if it is deterrent to to the building. I will make it sound as if it doesn't happen. It happens everywhere but the buildings that he's in. That's probably the truth anyway. This is more a downtown issue. Yeah. So anyway, there's poop in here. Cut right to it. I don't know how else to put it. I I was gonna it's a little elaborate story but like

The straight shot was there's the feces like sitting down in the in the it there's it's like a food court in here and it's it's one of the crappier food courts. It's a it's a it's a sketchy one. The lighting is poor and they they can't keep a decent food establishment in here. Something tells me that the PR PR job is not in your future. It was oh, also it's in the old blimpy space. Oh, okay. Someone who is either upset that the blimpy's has left or celebrating that the blimpies is gone. I like blimpies.

Definitely make the statement, that's for sure. I celebrate by having a stool. I couldn't even do that. Like, I mean, I think I would have trouble with the sheer logistics of, I don't know, defecating somewhere outside like in public. What kind of logistics do I you could do it. Just do it. You'd Well Kind of a one thing. Well, not that I don't wanna hit my heel. Yeah. Not to get it not to get it too far into it, I mean if you bring the necessary equipment, it's alright. What do mean? What? What equipment?

Looks like you gotta clean yourself up with something. Like your own toilet paper or whatever. You don't wanna donate your shorts to it. I mean, people shoes. I mean, it depends on what kind of celebration it is. But, I mean, you you wanna have the gear on you. But, I mean, He's making it about I've actually tried to tried to to to potty my own pants circa I can't I mean, last couple Yeah. Of What? Okay. Yeah. I don't know why. I got it all I realize that was hard. I got good to try it now because you know better. You can't barely do it. I haven't drank enough. You can't convince your mind to allow yourself to pee your own pants like it's out. I I tried this. Don't I Yeah. I can't understand. I looked at it In what context you would try that? I looked at it as a mind over matter deal. Well, don't wanna go home with my pants. Oh you do it at your house. Yeah you don't wanna do it in public, just do it at your place. Go in the backyard, wait till it's dark outside,

put your pants on and go, alright go with that. It's kinda like trying to pull your own hair. You can't Actually I can hurt yourself. I pull my own nose hair. Yeah. Well then, no that's different. No I mean like pulling your hair like your hair like you're trying to hurt yourself. Like scalp yourself. You can't well not pull it out. But like if I were to pull your hair I could hurt I could hurt you yank your hair. You can't really yank your own hair and make yourself hurt. That's a weird example. That's the same thing. Have you tried to do this? You can't do it. It's mine over mine. You can't make you can't hurt yourself. I think I could do that. I think I know it was good. Try it. Try it. I don't I didn't say I bet. Bet you can't say it was your hair. I just said that's what I did. I didn't say it's the way to go or it's the wave of the future. I'm just saying that's how it happened.

See I don't believe that's hurting. Okay. What do you mean? You're just it as as possible. Just because you do it like a pansy. I'm really giving it away. Hold on now. I don't have much to hold on to. I'm going I'm going

You gotta pull that out. There's no No. I I don't think you really pull. The time I pulled it out, what was that? What did you find? I got one. Got one. One of the 10 that's still there. I shouldn't do it either because I got the I mean I'm running out of hair in the front.

If you're having if you wanna attempt it in the food court. He just threw it out as an option. I bet I could find a couple buddies that do it with me. Say say, Nap Jack Joe and somebody else down there, plastic boots McGee. Okay. So so I was I was meeting somebody for lunch downtown downtown

here in this food court. We weren't going to the food court, that's where we Can you call it something specific like the the Skeezie food court or something? Have a name for it. Locust? Yeah. I I don't know. I don't know. The dirty

yeah. I'm alright with dirty factory. Okay. So me and me and me and Jared meet at the dirty factory. Well, that didn't sound good. Yeah. Okay. The dungeon. That's a good one, Olsen. Yeah. So alright. Fine. So we meet at the dungeon. Except we're not down in it. We're we're high above, so we can peer down at the people in it. So that's where we meet, and this guy comes up.

I I think he's obviously homeless, but he comes up and he sees this sign that's got the name Keith Olsen on it, you know, because he's selling spaces. Then he goes he's kinda talking to himself and I happen to be standing near him and he's like, Keith Olsen, who the hell is that? And I said and I thought, I know the answer to this question. I I feel compelled to answer because I mean, what are the odds that someone who actually knows Keith Olsen Yes. Staying at his luncheon next to a homeless man talking about it. It's my thought. So I intervened into it and I said, well,

he's he's selling spaces in the building. He works for the the realty company and he goes, he's all about money, isn't he? I said, well, I mean, I'm sure it does alright. Well, I'm not sure that's and then he starts then he starts going to town and starts reading the stuff. He's like he's like, greedy Keith Olsen taking my money and his chutneys chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken chicken. Olsen, Keith Olsen chicken chicken chicken chicken.

He he wouldn't give it up. And, like, I think he decided that Keith Olsen was was was like a a capitalist mongrel that had set up all these skeezy restaurants in this dungeon and that he didn't get to take part in. And and he was pretty upset about it. And so, like, I was I was trying to talk him out of it, but he wouldn't give it up. He just kept looking around. How would you describe this man in appearance? Okay. So he's I don't know. He's about six one. He had a light blue shirt on. Beard? Yeah. Yeah. He was probably four or five days into a beard. He had one of those mustaches where like one side appears to be talking to you all the time. You know, like one side lays down like it's supposed to and then the other side seems to be floating up like like like like they tried to get everybody to agree to do the Rollie Fingers, but only one side would agree to it. Right. So like that's this left side of his mustache. I ain't doing the Raleigh fingers for nothing. So

so that's what the left side of this guy's mustache looked like. And he had he had one eye that was right the heck on, and then one eye that kinda went around. This Yeah. But he's probably in league with the Raleigh finger side of the mustache. It was on the side of the face from the Raleigh. So it's maybe he was trying to compel. He said, like, you look stupid. He was trying to compel the right side of the mustache for being the not being the odd man out. So anyway, he had a he had a limp. I don't know where most homeless people limp. Anyway, this guy had a limp on him. Are you saying he was homeless indeed? He either that or like a Or he's head of the anti Keith Olsen fan club just happened to be passing through. Right. Could be like a sub sub janitor. Like the guy that they call when the guy that they want there and his Is actually busy. Is busy and his brother is also busy

and like they were required to fill the The position last resort. Grab somebody. But he didn't have like his his pants jingle, but I don't think he had any money or keys. So I'm not sure what was in it. Yeah. I'm about to find out either. You know, bet exactly what it was. It's old Blippi's coins that he was gonna turn in for free subs until the until the place left. And he holds Keith Olsen personally responsible, so he took a stoolie in it. What am I supposed to do with all these bloopies coins?

Hey. Wait. Did bloopies run a coin program? I don't know. The joke's not funny if they did. Yeah. I think yeah. Let's pretend they did. I certainly hope that they did. Yeah. Bloopies coin program. Oh. You should've bring it back. Half a Rollie Fingers mustache. But it'd be terrible if half of your mustache was against you. Because either you gotta shave off just the half, which is terrible, or not ever wear a mustache at all. Your mustache is holding you hostage. You cannot do anything without its approval. Isn't that terrible? Yeah. It's true. It's like, hey, man. Put some oil in there. Bidfus is a communist. Like,

he he's he's real derogatory and and mean, and he's insulting your eyebrows all the time. I thought you got that covered up there. Hey, man. Hook me up with the beer. No. Mean, let it grow out. Hook me up with the beard. I'm going down there. No beard. I'm doing the I'm doing the Mark Furman. What's that? What's that Furman? Mark Furman? No. No. Who's the The boy the that's the the guy from the OJJ. Yeah. He's got the OJJ. He doesn't have any facial. Not not the Mark Fuhrman. Who's the other guy? Who it's Goldman's dad.

Oh, Ron Goldman. Yeah. Ron Goldman had the real creepy handlebar style mustache. Yeah. He's not giving up on that either. The mustache? He he's had that forever. No. In fact, I'm pretty sure that they have to keep buying wider lenses to fit it in. I mean, I Panorama? Yeah. I think it I think it's it just gets wider as as the years go by. Like, I don't know that it's stayed its consistent shape. Hey. Do you know anybody else that's speaking of that is that it has a very distinct look to them, but it's way outdated, and they've stuck with it for for for into modern times? I would have to say

No. Oh, who's the person I'm thinking of? Baker? Baker's wife? Tammy Faye Baker? Faye Faye. Oh, Jim Baker. Yeah. Jim Baker's wife. Okay. Yeah.

You know Was he the guy that who was who was that? Who was the guy who sinned? You know talking about? The preacher from ago? Everyone? Yeah. All of them. Yeah. Exactly. I have sinned. I have sinned. Is he the one who's dating her? I think that was Jimmy Swagger. Jimmy Swagger. Jimmy Swagger. Know it's one of those guys. Yeah. Actually, it's it's relatively true for most most I don't know. It's not Christian people. Right? But like the

media, the the more public a Christian you are, the more likely you are to be dressing ten or fifteen years behind the times. Yeah. And like a brown suit. Yeah. Yeah. Dudes don't give on give up on a suit or like you you watch and this is not fair comparison because it's on the PBS and these videos are all a little bit older anyway but like you know 1997 and the the Christian ladies are still wearing the big blue blazer you know Yeah. Man's the with the gold buttons. And the shoulder pads. Yeah. Yeah. The shoulder yeah. Ruth McClanahan style.

Tammy Faye passed away a few years ago. Oh. Oh. Dead? Well, I'm probably still dressed like That's probably true, sir. Sorry. I don't know if that's I mean, that's not a native comment. I mean Yeah. If you're fifteen years behind the times, it is what it is. Yeah. Then she's not behind the times.

She she died Do you get more behind the times? I don't know. Well, it depends with these I'm trying to think of anybody who else who who still rocks like a look, is that mean, there's a thing about rocking like a classic look, like you like you have a you have a classic look about you. But then there's the I'm trying to keep with the times, but but my TV's played shows from ten years ago. So like what I think is hip is not oh, she died of cancer. Good night.

Boy, this is getting worse. We gotta disable the blog. I don't know that it's gone so poorly. I don't know why everyone is so down hard about it. She's gotten to be bored. It is what it is. Obviously, I mean, you know. Yeah. Why would you say that? What? Why would I say what? No. I'm because of chat. I've Right? It's like yeah. It's the guilt insertion. You die to I don't know. People who have cancer can test poorly. Don't know what Like what

difference does it make how she died? Very possible. Yeah. Really? What do you mean by that? We were talk yeah. We were talking about dress anyways. Right? Now, everything else. So Is anybody else dead that dress is funny? Who knows? Yeah. Hey, you know what? Julius Caesar. It do it is actually hey, you know, that's that's dangerous. So, like, I would very much put that I would I would very much put that in my will, like, how I was to be dressed. Holy buckets. Sorry. Sorry. No one else has the can see can see what I'm looking at. Hold on. Let me put it on the put it on the thing. This is this is this is the Tammy Faye link from the

From the chat? From the chat. Yeah. Wow. Boy, she looks terrible. I can't see it. Sorry about that. There's nothing I can do. Anyway, so yeah. She's in a better place. Anyway, so yeah. That's very that's very much one of the things that I would put in my will is how I'm to be dressed. Because, I mean, someone could very well like my wife, for example, I'm sure doesn't approve of what I wear most of the time. Right? I'm not real fancy dressing. So I think she would have inclined if I were to get in some sort of accident to put me into something that would make me look good like she would think I would look. Right? But I would prefer to be buried on what I actually look like.

That's true. I feel the exact same way about shaving yourself bald, so you know what you look like in case you go blind. That way, if you're blind, do you have to worry about people combing your hair? I mean, you could look ridiculous. You ever let your you ever let your wife comb your hair? She didn't do it right. She tries to poof it all up with some kind of, you know, like a, I don't know, froofy action. Like, I

I don't like it. No. I've never let my wife comb my hair. Seriously? Never once? No. Do you back did did she She's getting back into the whole, you know, capri pants thing we talked about last time we were on the air. Who? Did you buy that shirt? Did you buy that shirt on your own? Yes. I bought this shirt on my own. Thank you for No. I like it. I'm I'm just I'm trying to I'm going through my midlife I'm I'm through my midlife crisis and everything else. That's what I'm going through right now, right? The sticker is still on it. You're defensive about it. It's a hustle. I don't know what it Did just buy it recently? Yes, did actually. Thank you. Got buy one Did get a on it? Yeah, there's a sticker still on it. Yep, see XXL. XXL. That's what it is right there. Look at it. I think maybe you should let your wife buy your clothes if this is how you're gonna handle yourself. She would have gotten the sticker. XXL, look at it. Look at it.

Mean The matter is, I'm styling a profile and that's all that I'm saying. I asked because it like it happens to be where like if it's if it's brightly colored, my wife probably bought it for me. I don't tend to buy bright colored clothing. I wasn't I wasn't inferring anything about you No. But the god look is way cool. Whether you whether you purchased your own shirt or not. Yes. I did purchase it. I don't mind shopping every once in a while because I like to style and profile. That's right. In my midlife crisis. Go through it. Zach, do you buy for yourself? So we gotta give Matt a chance to cool down if you can Yeah. Yeah. Insert something. No. Buy yeah. Buy for myself. But

you you know, it's it's a it's a fast process though. I mean, you go in, you you know, I see it, you get it. I mean Yes. There's really nothing I more don't I don't There's nothing more to it. Mean How many five outfits. The only reason you need to try it on is to see like, well, does do I need a It fit. A large or medium or, you know, because it runs it runs different. But but yeah you know. I'm not looking as to make my pectorals look you know and the big Although and although my my grandma

likes to buy me buy me clothes and that that rarely works out. Yeah. I think that's the story of most grandkids. Yeah. You know fifteen years behind the time statement. Yeah. And and it's always like corduroy pants. You know, don't want them, know. Or it's a it's some type of flannel shirt and I'm not wearing shopping

at like mainstream stores. Like Yeah. This clothing is available somewhere. There's gotta be like a shop where it's like You're like, how are you not accidentally getting it right on? Yeah. Think Once in a while, it's it's some solid underneath the basement of JCPenney's is is the actual store called The Pennies that they used to really hit up back in the day and that's where they, you know, they just kinda usher them in underneath the Golden Girls cut out and they hit the basement and then they're they're in. Golden Girls reference you've made tonight. Uh-uh. You said Ruth McClanahan once. I think I said Ruth too. I think I said it wrong. And

Golden Girls. Is she still alive? You got people combing your hair. You seriously never let your lady come No. I wouldn't I don't have a lot I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the Golden Girls. I would just say these references. I'm saying that is my most hated show. Why? Two weeks. Every time it would come on my mom would watch it. She wanted me out of living room when I was younger, she knew how to do it. That come on I've just begun. What's

appealing about watching four or five old women stand around talking about crap? They were I don't know. They were hip old women. Yeah. One of them from Sicily and one of those feisty.

Right. Right. The the mother. Yeah. They they well, they only had two scenes, one in living room, one in the kitchen. That's all I can remember about the whole show. Yes. Yeah. Now tell me that's not a genius format. There's no elaborate sets. They don't have to pay a It's bunch of money do it's it was a well watched show. I mean It's true. Yeah. Mean It was it was it was on a run. How long was it on the air? Ten years? And I've only mentioned it twice. What long time? I appreciate you. A bunch is not two. You just said it again. That's what you were talking about. You're going to the minion. You're four. Keep it up. Anyway, the blue hair show I used to watch

that I still watch. I think the woman likes it. Remember they went they went to they ran the Golden Girls, and then they they went to the Golden Palace after the Golden Girls went off the air, and they Cheech Marin was the was the cook. That's a lie. You remember that? No. Yeah. That's not true at all. I didn't see it. September so

okay. So it was on from September eighty five to May 1992. Oh, that's a long running show. Yeah. Yeah. Hold on. Eighty five to ninety two? Yeah. It's not as long as I would have thought though.

That's less than ten years. I don't know why you have such an agenda in life to bring down the canoe. Well, you know, it wasn't really a good ride. It's not so great. It was I mean, I You can't get to ten years? Come on. No. I've been wearing socks for more than seven years. Mean

my lucky boxers I wanna be buried in. The only thing I That's all. Yeah. That's it. That's all. I don't want to be remembered. I

don't know what I'd wanna be buried in. I'm not sure. Like, don't know if I'd want a suit. Like, is it wrong to say Yeah. If you don't wear a suit every day, why don't you Yeah. Like, why would you want but but everybody buries him suit like, as if you're prepared and was like, well, yeah, he was a real wretch in life. Let's let's try to pretty him up for God. Lord, he's a dapper gentleman, I'm telling you. Put a little shot on him. This is how we wanna remember him by, he was never like this. We just wanna remember him this way.

That is kinda weird. That's an odd tradition though too, isn't it? I don't know. Showing the dude. Yeah. I know. He shot up. Well, actually, if you listen to every every time somebody dies in the Bible, like they send somebody it's like there's people there's there's a death squad waiting It really does. Every round yeah.

Their their only deal is to come in as like soon as someone's been announced dead, they haul in and they got linens and stuff and they wrap them up and they haul them out. Like, remember that story we're talking about in the first book of Acts where the people died directly after trying to short the Lord on the on the land exchange. Yeah. Right. So they died directly and like it's it's in there and then two guys walking in. Yeah. And they wrapped him up Alright. We gotta take care that. That was common practice. Right? I mean, they had to be done, you know, within twenty four hours because I mean, it was the hot, was desert and was the climate. You can make a lot of money off that. Carry linens around and search for you know death linen. Just wait for the right.

It's all about money with you isn't it? Yeah. Except for the golden girls a million dollar franchise. It ain't happening. No. You and Keith, the doggy run. Yeah. He wants money all the time. What are thinking about? Yeah. Actually, that's a good point. So, so SimCow in the chat makes a good point. Have you ever tried to put jeans on a dead person? I suppose like the slacks and the dresses and stuff would be pretty easy to wrangle on a dead I assumed they just weren't wearing pants because the bottom half of the coffin was closed. I assume they didn't do any more than head No. Don't they cut the back of them? Yeah. That's right. Don't don't they cut the back and and just kind of place it over. The reason why is my brother my brother-in-law is mortician, so I think he's told me some of the stuff, the embalming process, everything else. I've never been there. Never saw it. If the guy's like known for wearing like an a shirt underneath, you know, do they put an a shirt on him? I think they probably. Don't know. Can't It's by the request of the family. Mean, yeah. I'm glad I'm with you on that. I don't think you should be buried in a suit if you've wore if you ever wore a suit. But I think a lot of this stuff, again, they cut the back of them up, then they kinda blanket them over, and that makes you But especially with the leg thing. Yeah.

There's no What if they're known for wearing sneakers and basketball shorts? And then It's probably out. No. Yeah. I don't I don't see that happening. Oh, yeah. Well, get your brother into the mortician industry. What's that? That's a good question because I actually started off to be a teacher. And then somewhere along the line, that's the thing. Know what? I think a mortician would be a better fit. I I don't where I don't know where that idea came. See, assume that that that's how I'd like it was a fan like, every mortician is a family business. Like, I I don't know. I like was just one of those jobs that I assume that, you know, your old man did it, you do it. Yeah. You know? Like like, no one chooses to be mortician. Yeah. His dad didn't his dad was a school teacher, fifth grade teacher, and then Mark, who's my brother-in-law there. Yeah. He I don't know how exactly how the turn of events. Like I say, he started out, you and I as a teacher, they ended up somehow as a mortician. But that is a college it's a college degree to be a mortician? I think there's lot of biology and, you know What do have to know? The person's already dead. Well, I had a I mean, I did. Yeah. There's there's there's draining of fluids, I guess, and everything else. Yeah. I bet that there's hazardous stuff in there. Things you don't wanna if you need I mean, it seems like you could get a certificate And that order. To James and open a

like, isn't Le James the styling category? Yeah. Yeah. I don't think that? Do they Science.

Is it a two year program, Olsen? Can I what's the deal? I don't know. Olsen, did you go handy. Yeah. Andy Google. Yeah. Yeah. That's I mean, I hope, you know, I hope the Golden Gurr fact he knew. Cassidy? 8592.

September eighty five. It's not like you're actually in there. You're not in the camera. Your face you just look like a goon sticking your face in it. He thinks he can see himself. Wait. Olsen Olsen had a you had a friend go through the program. So is is he in a family family mortuary business?

Do you have to be licensed to be a mortician? I think so. Yeah. Well, maybe just the establishment. Yeah. Probably. He's not licensed. Taking higher higher out. I don't know. Would you guys work in a would you work in a a mortuary? If God wanted me there. Digging on that answer. I'm sure that's Clever.

Nope. Is it you think that What did parents own a meat locker? Dog on you, Olsen. You sly boots.

That better that better be true. What would be I'll phrase my question when I think of a good way to do Okay. Okay. I think I I don't know. I don't know if I would

I don't know if I would work in a like, I I'm not good with mourning people. Like, I I remember when my when my grandma died, like and I think Mike can attest to this. Obviously, like, we have the same family situations being brothers. So my grandma died, I think there's a lot of people talking about death and, you know, they're they're always they'll come up to you and they'll wanna, you know, be a shoulder for you to cry. And then sometimes after someone's died, you don't really want that. Like, you don't wanna be surrounded by the conversation of death. So Mike and I are kinda like the happy police. Like, if you want people to ignore the fact that someone you love and have loved for fifty, sixty years has died, you call Mike and I because we'll come in as if nothing's ever happened. No. That's that's true. That's how we do with the hard stuff. Yeah. So like We ignore it. Yeah. Some people and it's Very sad. It's not like staying away from the subject. Like, we'll tell stories as if they were sitting in the bathroom or whatever. Like, I think we had a story of my grandma who was on the john for some reason and had the door half open and was, like, yelling about the times that the park was open while she was on the john. Like, it was weird. Yes. But it was funny, though. But, like, those are the types of stories, like, Mike and I end up telling after someone has died.

And so and I remember that, like, I don't think I could work around, people that are mourning because I I don't have the, I I like I don't feel it. I don't feel it. It's just it's something that happened and I believe what I believe, right? So people so you know, I think they're they're probably going spot or if they're not, there's nothing I can do about it. Yeah. Right? So like to to that extent, I just I just kind of ignore it and go my business and I think grandpa had us up there a couple times just because like we were the company that wasn't pretty much ignored anything You know you might have gone on. Well could make a lot of money on that. You could be a funeral entertainer. There's wedding entertainers. You

are cold you are one cold hearted steak. You could. I'm sorry. You could be the cheer up guy. Yeah. Margaret was a wonderful person. Where's my $75 free drink? They're cocktails You said open bar.

Said open. Go get me a six pack or else I'll walk off. This is terrible. I I you know, and I mean, you you'd probably guess that that that, like, said on the same way, but, you know, like, sometimes I feel like I have to fake it on someone else's behalf, you know. Like, I I will cry at a funeral for two seconds and that's when usually when I walk up to the casket and look in. Right. Know, I remember do that. And I I I can't even do it. I always do it, you know, and I'll do it real quick and, you know, but there's two seconds where where I'm leveled and then after that, it's done. Know, if there's nothing before it, there's nothing after it. It's it's it's that's it. Or if they start singing. Like, when everyone sings at the same time like an old hymn or something, I'll bawl like a baby. But but like other than that, it's just I mean, it's just it is what it is. And sometimes I feel like like people are put off by that. You know, they're like, well, this guy, you know, they this this

doesn't seem to affect him at all. You know, like if I get I always sometimes I have to practice. Like if I get bad news, how I'm gonna act so people will feel like I'm supporting them, you know. Because otherwise, I would just say, alright. Well, what needs to happen next? Right. You know, like, what what yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I feel bad about that sometimes Does it mean anything to you? But you're like, you're saying, no, I'm with all that. Like like I I I really understand that you're hurting but I like I just I I I could try my hardest and I can't sympathize with you. I just I don't have the ability hit me. You'd make a good manager. What's up? But but but probably not a great manager to work for because you would have no towards the employees. Yeah. But a great manager to be employed to employ. That's true. The company would love you. If I remember correctly, did you have somebody arrested while you were the manager of a I did. In fact, I had I had a guy arrested and then I fired everybody that worked for me. Wow.

I I worked as a manager of an oil change place and we were living at a house over on the on the East Side kinda and we had been and found some kind of wayward dude named Stoney and he moved in with us, you know? Stoney. And so I got him a job. I got him a job at the place I was working at and and whatever. And one day, he come rocking out from from the basement of the oil change joint heading out to the parking lot. He's got like a $50 bill in his hand, you know. And a kid that also works at the place comes rolling up in the parking lot too, except for our cops right behind him. Mhmm. Stoney puts the money in his pocket and runs back in. I'm like, oh, no. That was way obvious, Stoney. What were you doing out there? You know? So here come Why did they call you Stoney? Yeah. So here come the police. They wanna talk to Stoney. Stoney breaks down. Oh, man. You know? And so they arrest him, hauling back out. He's gone. And then they arrested the other kid who worked there, so he was gone. And then the funny part was is that is that so Tony come rocking back. He got arrested at, like, 03:00.

He come back at six. The place is open till seven, he comes back at six and goes downstairs in the in the pit, you know, and he starts working on vehicles. And I I went downstairs and I said I said, Stoney, you're fired, man. He goes That that was a given. He goes, what? What? I said, do you mean? Well, you got arrested in your uniform in the parking lot along with the other kid that works here. I said, you're fired. He goes, can I get a ride home? I said, yeah. I said, you gotta hang around. I said, you wanna start walking, I'll catch up with you in the hour. If if not, you don't have a seat. I said, we gotta take that uniform off. And then, like, within the within the week,

I I caught I caught my entire night staff smoking weed in the back doorstep of the establishment while they were supposed to be working. You know, it's none of my business if you do whatever you do, you know Right. As long you're not doing it at work, you know. But they were doing it at work, you know. So now it's it's a liability. And so I fire every single one of them. Every single one of them. I I just don't keep to understand. So what you the next day? You said I borrowed people from another store. No. But you said you so you hired a guy named Stoney. Yeah. Yeah. That's Is that how he introduced himself? And let him move in with you. I No. No. Hi. My name is Mary Jane. No. Ben Cole. Hi. My name is Hemp. Yeah. Alright. Well My name is Doobie. I mean, seriously, I mean, there's none of stuff actually No. Hold on. To be fair, his parents were a bit off kilter and named him Doobie and and he could've done nothing about or he had a past life, you know, where he did some stuff and he's turning around. You did. Yeah. You change your life. But you but you Drug tested or whatever. You lose the nickname.

That's what you do. Well You changed her? Yeah. Ben called him Stoney. Like, his real name was Matt. Matt Stone. And, actually, he he he lived in the basement with Ben in two separate rooms, and he would come rocking in Rocking in. At three in the morning Yes. From his room trying to conjure up Ben to do some kind of crazy stunt. I can't remember that. Weird guy. And his name was Stoney. Well, his name was Matt. Ben called him Stoney. Right. Right. To be fair. He did this move a lot. Maha. Maha. Maha. Okay. There you go. As I said, it's like, I I I I don't understand where you're saying. You know what? Is he filming something? Was that was that it? Or I wanna send you for a drug test right now if you can figure this out. Okay? They did enough science right there. I'm just saying. He woman, he didn't say anything about the hemp. He was talking about marijuana specifically. He he did. Well, he was inferring stony. His name's stony. He was inferring hemp was bad. No. We the no. The woman's on now now you've gotten it riled up, Cassidy. The woman's on the on the rule, but we drink the hemp milk. We got hemp milk at our house. That is not the same It's Oh, that's exactly what I'm talking about, by the way. Yeah. Yes. You would She obviously She won't be lumped in. I wanna send her for a drug test too as well. Yeah. You said hemp was bad. You're making a lot of friends here. Yeah. Exactly. That's it. Everybody. You know what? Everybody off the chat right now. You're all done. Okay. Anybody admired everybody right now. If I find out you're taking your your size stickers off your shirt, you're out of here too. Done. You like chicken? Forget you. I hate chicken. No chicken. We're done with the chicken. By the way, I I do gripe, but I need to get off my chest quickly. I'm very I'm very No.

I know. I and I've talked about this in my Facebook and everything else, but again, I want I wanna bring this subject up in here because I've never been more livid. So I went to Dairy Queen the other night, and I I go to the parking lot, and nobody was there at the parking lot. Nobody was there. This place is open. Nobody was there. Like a drive through? It was a yeah. So that's I don't the parking lot into the drive through, nobody was there. Was there anybody there? No.

An outrageous. As I get to the speaker, and this is what irritates me. As I get to the speaker, the first thing is, welcome to Dairy Queen. Can you please hold? I think to myself, for what? There's nobody here. Okay? Does that make sense? Mean, I it's just like it's 09:30 at night. It's going on ten I mean, obviously, 10:00. They it's like they're surprised if somebody shows up. So I waited for, like, five minutes. Finally, a lady comes on. Okay. How can I help you? How can I take your order? So said, was I waiting for? Exactly. That's what I thought, but dropped it. So the next thing I said, I go, yes, I'd to have a blizzard. Want chocolate ice cream Reese's peanut butter cup. That's what I love. Okay? Chocolate ice cream Reese's peanut butter cup. Now, here's the thing that torques me off. She goes, oh, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry. We're out of chocolate ice cream. I think Yeah. You gotta No. No. Here's what irritated me because yeah. Because you're Dairy Queen. You don't run you out of don't you don't run out of chocolate ice cream. Okay? This is Altoona Dairy Queen, which irritates me right now. You don't run out of chocolate ice cream. This is the sponsor.

So here's the what irritates me is I'm like, you don't run to Burger King and run out of Whoppers. Okay. You don't. Alright. If I wanna have it my way, go to Burger King. Alright. Maybe they No. Shut the They don't go to Dairy Queen. That's what they specialize in. That's what's irritating me right now is the fact they specialize in ice cream. Why at 09:30?

At 09:30 at Dairy Queen who specializes in ice cream? Why are they out of chocolate? Sorry, I'm foaming at the mouth. Apologize. You know what? Believe it or not, I just wet myself. Okay? I'm just that upset right now. You weren't thinking about it. I wasn't even thinking about it. I just did it right now. You gotta let it go. Hold on real quick. I gotta make my statement real quick. Here we go. There we go. This seems to be a consistent problem with the Altoona

the Altoona Dairy Queen because the the experience on the chat is that they wanted a caramel brownie blizzard and Well, they're out of Carmel. Yeah. They out of the whole blizzard. Sounds like a lazy establishment. That's what they could They're not out. I think they They're like we already packed it up. It's like yeah we got vanilla. Yeah. I I don't want vanilla. I want it my way. You're Dairy Queen for gosh sakes. No that hold on. That's not their slogan. No it is. No it's not their slogan. Tell me. But I'm a dang customer. I got a hour. Why are you so surprised I want chocolate ice cream at 09:30? Why are you so mad at them? Because it's irritating. Wanna don't eat nothing but chocolate ice cream. I like chocolate ice cream. Stop going to Dairy Queen. Block.

They've got you by they've got you by the So upset. Oh, I went to Culver's. They lost my business is what happened. You're a sucker is what you are. No. I did. Went to Culver's. Why do you They have chocolate ice cream. Why do you They were prepared. To Dairy Queen. I understand. Why would you Three times. You got three strikes and you're out. They took three That sounds like three times too many. I'm sorry. I did go to a gas station once and they were out of gas. Hey, will you take that from him so expensive.

I'm gonna move this here. Yeah. I tried to I went to a gas station. I tried to pump gas and it wasn't working. So I went in and said, hey, what's the deal? And they came out and checked and they they actually said, Why is this so hard? I don't understand why this is such a hard concept to figure out. Now, okay, if I went to Dairy Queen and they didn't have any burgers or fries, okay, so what? They don't specialize. They do it, but they don't they don't specialize in it. However, when you specialize in ice cream, because this is what you specialize for the last forty some years, how could you be out of chocolate ice cream? How could you be unprepared

at 09:30? No. Somebody just didn't wanna mix the chemicals or whatever they do with ice cream. Dude, dude. What? Can you hear me? Yeah. I we can all hear you. Yes. I'm good. Okay. I'm sorry. I got a little upset. I apologize. Heat. I can't hear him through. A lot things. I think you kicked something and thrown me out of it. Oh, okay. Yeah. You know you know, I would agree. Actually, the gas stations do run at it, and then they get out of gas quite a bit. That does happen. They I mean, you ever seen them delivering gas? They deliver it in the middle of the night.

Sometimes there's a lot of guys. Running of gas. They they've got It happens. They shouldn't run gas. I agree. No. But they should not it's a gas station. You agree with what? They specialize in gas. Yeah. They they also sell a bunch of other stuff. But they don't specialize in funny stuff. They don't make money on the gas. They sell the gas so you go and you buy the overpriced gum. True. I won't buy the gum if you don't ask for me. Well, have gas most of time. I don't think Speaking. They don't seem to be hurting. Hey. What I'm saying? It's because you need gas. It's because you have to have gas. Quick trip. Let me talk about speaking of gas, this weekend, I went to a quick trip Mhmm. And I clicked know what I hit? I hit the pay inside button.

I was denied. Yeah. You don't have a pump start card. No. Exactly. No. I don't need if I wanna go pay inside, should be now at night, that. Okay? You always have to But it does. Why do you have a pay inside button if I gotta pay first? Because you can use the pump start card. No. I swear I'm gonna Do you know what their do know what their drive off? Do know how much they pay? Gas drive off is here? Don't have the button on. Obviously, you don't agree with it to the point where you could have a legitimate conversation without getting back to Quick Trip. Anyways, Quick Trip lost I think this was the day after the after the Dairy Queen. Yeah. He was so riled up. And you're thinking, wait a minute. But I'm gonna click because I wanna go inside, pay for my gas, and buy a few other things. But now, I gotta swipe my card. I gotta go away and gotta swipe card like five other go my car to go to the sneaking bathroom if I wanna go there. You know, for the exact same reason, I don't go to Quick Trip. And that's that's odd, but I go to Casey's and come and go because you can you can go inside go

inside because it's my choice because I'm the customer. Well, to a different place that treats the stick a button on there. You're outrageous. I don't know why you continue to visit establishments.

Well, I might be a secret shopper is what I'm gonna be. I really doubt that. Not so secret. Yeah. And no, I'm not sure. It's certainly not gonna work. Just I'm just waiting I said, I'm just waiting to go to to Burger King and find out they're out of Whoppers or like I said, or go to McDonald's. They don't have any more Big Macs. They happen to run out. Hey, buddy. It's Mediacom. We don't have cable. That would be odd. Yeah. I agree. You can't have it your way. This ain't Burger King.

I don't think they'd say that. No. I don't think they would either. Now you're putting words in their mouth. Now you're taking them without any reason. I'm done. I'm seriously, whatever. You know what? If if I was a restaurant owner, would hope you wouldn't visit my establishment. There's nothing I can do. Keep you accountable. Okay? I think you're Derek Queen. You should have chocolate ice cream at 09:30. If they don't have a You have time to mix it. A cutout exactly your size with balloons when you walk in the door. Apparently, you've had enough of the place. This place is not friendly to me. Exactly.

Where's my gold plated fork? The fast food industries are just trying to make us they're they're trying to determine what we want. I want chocolate ice cream. No. You don't. You want vanilla. No. I don't. I want chocolate ice cream. Well, sorry. We're out. Y'all take vanilla. You know what? Drove off. Peeled off. Drove off. Yeah. I made a statement. Not with any gestures. Just so we're clear, I'm not with any gestures. With property damage if I take this thing in the parking

lot. Anyways, Culbers, you have my support at this point in time. Okay? I'm going to Culbers from here on out. They might you. Not I agree.

Culbers, watch out. Culbers, lock your doors. I'm coming. If you see a man that's on his shirt, you better not let him in. Because that's the guy. Anyways, okay, I'm done. That's all I have to say right now. I want to vent a little bit. I want the Altoona. I'm keeping them accountable is what I'm doing. You don't run out of certain ice cream. That's what you specialize in. Mhmm. Mhmm. I'm done. Mhmm. I'm done. Mhmm.

Mhmm. It's fantastic. I'm sorry if I broke your headset by the way. Yeah. It doesn't seem to be working now. Okay. I'm gonna assume things are fine.

Seem things seem to be going alright. Just trying to think. I I haven't really bought anything from Fast Food Establishment this week. Is that true? Yeah. Don't think peanut butter strawberry M and M's? How were they? Oh, Those were good. I mean, were they? Oh, okay. Yeah. I actually I did. Now I think about it. I did buy some I we went to the there's a juice company here in Des Moines, and they make smoothies. And I got a a peanut butter and jelly smoothie and it was excellent with Peanut butter and jelly. With energy. It had an energy additive. The woman took the Sounds terrible.

And you got what you wanted. No. I was don't Exactly. You have to you got and you got what you wanted. Right? I thought you said you were okay with this. I'm sorry. I'm just not making a point here. It's all I'm doing. Okay. You got what you wanted. Yeah. The woman got flax. Yeah. No. No. I don't know. I like they said, one of the it was it was some sort of it was peanut butter jelly was the overall thing. It was the overall flavor and then they said, well, you know, would you want an additive? And then the additives are like flax seed energy What does the guy do? Does he does he like look at it and go, hazzam?

You know what kidding? I mean, how does he inject energy in there? What is he claiming it to be? I don't know. I just said, yeah, I'll take the energy. And I got and I got just spins around real fast. I couldn't taste it. So I I'm gonna assume that I got it. Was there an upcharge because No. No. It comes free with the peanut butter and jelly. Free energy and flaxseed with the You know

Cold Stone She's only go above and beyond is what you're saying. Cold Stone will not Maybe it's because I'm not an irate brigand that comes in there I'm so irate. I'm sorry what were you saying? You know Cold Stone will not stop upselling you they they literally offered like eight different things throughout the process of just getting me my cup of thing that I knew I already wanted. Because they haven't. Like it was ridiculous like and then she kept on she kept even be like oh sorry what just one more question would you also like a water? Oh no. Like I appreciate you're trying to you know Right. Upsell in general but like maybe once or twice maybe three but like see it was literally like seven times like okay we have got to stop I know when I say I want a small size they're gonna offer me the medium and large everything for like 50¢ more and make me fat but like it's just like let me just let me just check out you know let me just do like that's it I don't want brownie with it I don't want it I already said no to a drink not a water you know not a gift card either. Just go to Altoona ice Give me my ice cream. Well, right. Go to Altoona Dairy Queen. They'll trust me. Won't upsell you. I'll actually down sell you. Yeah. They don't want I'm

gonna turn down your microphone. We're gonna get This is a huge issue right now. Apparently. Apparently. The customer. Okay? What I don't realize why this has to be such a big deal. You

Exactly. I'm really glad that I'm not out and about during the day that I have the might have the chance to run into you and rub you the wrong direction. Maybe what I asked for were cool. I would love to be upsold. Okay? I'm gonna see. You know what? We have what you want me ask you. We don't have what you want, but we could give you Hold on. Do you do you tend to to yell at Keith Olsen signs? Yeah. Is there any All the time. Is there any chance you want to listen with I will bust a cap at Keith Olsen if I ever see him. Alright? I love Keith Olsen.

He just out for money. You just threatened o o Olsen. I did. And you're all out for money. He's out for money. Derek Queen doesn't wanna obviously make money. I'm done. I'm sorry. That's a lie. You are not done. This is gonna come back in two minutes. We'll talk about water fountains. You'll somehow find a way to tire. Back into the Dairy Queen. You know who's got a water fountain? Dairy Queen. Yeah. How much they didn't have? Chocolate chocolate ice cream coming out of the water fountain like I want. Like I want. Okay? All I asked is for a stool in the shape of a cockroach, and they didn't have it.

It's just too much to ask. I was in the skywalk, and I ran into someone, and you're supposed to walk on the left. I wanted Blippies, and there wasn't any there. Guess what I did? Dude, that's right.

They totally deserved it. You can take your two Come on, mustache. We're out of here. Yeah. Me and the beard are out. Come here, Stoney. Let's go handle this. Alright?

I'll pay. Stoney, where'd get that from? I'm still disappointed in you, by the way. Why? I believe in people. Not named Stoney. I believe in a matter of fact okay. Alright. Draw a line at Stoney. Dude, was solid employee for like six, eight months, which is about the max you can find for an oil change place. Right. That's true. They all everyone gets fired for the same reason. Don't kid yourself. Yeah. Everyone gets fired for the exact it's not being late or not showing up or violence or It's the same thing.

Did you get fired? It's always a comment. I might have left before I got fired. I might have had that. One of those situations. You can't fire me. I quit. I quit. That's right. And then I got a job And did you write a long letter? Right after I quit right after I quit the financial institution I worked for, went I right back down there the same day and got my I got my old job back.

I I ran into the to the owner at Burger King and all the services seemed to go great. I couldn't your way there, by the way. But I said I sat down and he goes, oh, no. What are you doing here? I said, I need a job doing whatever you're doing. He goes, alright. Well, we gotta do it when it's over there. Go get your uniform signed up. And so I got I I mean, I didn't leave on bad terms or anything, but it was pretty awesome. I quit a job and then I I had a job two hours later doing the exact same thing I was doing before I got there. Sometimes I truly believe that you live the best life. Sometimes. Actually, we had a really cool job. Me Mike and I both, we we kind of shared a gig delivering checks from the Fed to the airport. This was awesome. This was nice gig. Like, you got to you worked three hours a night and your job was basically to drive this big van around and you go a plane comes in from Kansas City with all the checks that they run through the Fed.

And you you take it off the plane and you drive it on the tarmac out of the airport Behind the other planes. Yeah. Behind the other planes and and a good minute and a half over to the Fed, which is a half a mile from the airport, you you unload them, you drop them off, they check you off, go wait for another hour and half for the next plane, and you do the same thing. Yeah. That the hours were a bit creepy. The hours from like, woah, it's like six six to two at night or six to three. Yeah. I I don't think I think I took I I always work from 08:30 to two. That's awesome. I think it's what it was. But I mean you got to you got to sit in the pilot's lounge Yeah. And hang out in there. Yeah. Drive on the tarmac was pretty fun. Yeah. I I actually They knew you weren't pilots. You know, they they're I was act I was actually behind a plane when they fired the the the burners up one time and it it knocked the van 30 feet. It was creepy. But it was cool. Have you ever seen that guy the video that one guy that got sucked into him? Like, used to show he was on an aircraft carrier and he got sucked into the Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The turbines on the plane. I was afraid that was gonna happen to the van. They say not to I mean, there's lines and you're not supposed to go beyond those lines because they're they fire up the turbines like they yeah. They could suck you in. Mhmm. A whole van? I feared for my life. Yeah. I didn't really feel It was cool job. Yeah. It was it was way cool. We got a ton of cool jobs like that. Just a ton. I mean, there's if if it's done in the middle of the night and it's not interleader, we've we've had that job. My wife said she would support,

she would support it. Support what? Yeah. Like, remember I, that if we got that job back. I don't think they I don't think they have it up anymore. No. The Fed transfers electronically now. Yeah. Too bad. The common man. Yeah. They took my security badge away anyway. Yeah. Yeah. You did. You had to go to, like, security clearance in the airport and stuff. They they actually put some questions. They sequestered me because we were going out of town to I can't oh, wait. I get a flight out of Des Moines or whatever. And I had turned my security badge in and they stopped me and wouldn't let me on the plane because I I hadn't turned my security badge in yet. So I go back and turn it into them. You know, I'm not sure I can answer this question correctly. This the question on the chat was what's the main purpose of the show?

Wait. So I I the answer being Don't go to Terry Queen. It's not it's not 9930. The the answer was Jesus and food. Although, actually, we're pretty short on Jesus this week. There wasn't we are I I actually haven't said this. Don't know. Dan is my constant reminder. Dan's Dan's not not in the show this week, but we are we are from Pathway Church in Johnston.

Our show is live from the path. It is basically the types of stuff four dudes that are trying to stay on the path that Jesus might talk about in a given week. Sometimes that's food, sometimes it's Jesus, sometimes it's mortuaries. I don't know. Could be just about anything.

But, yeah, we anyway, Pathway Church of Johnson meets on Sundays at 10:00, 10AM at Wallace Elementary. We'd obviously love to have you out there. Coming to church is great. Having a relationship with Jesus is way better. So if you're looking for either of those things, we'd hope to help you out. But

I got I got a short Jesus interstitial real quick that hit me. I had a obviously, I had my baby this week and and, you know, it was my night last night to watch to to feed her and stuff, know, so I took the late night shift and whatever and and

I I just got done reading my bible before I went to bed and it was I think I think it was Proverbs or something I was reading in Proverbs that I really liked and and it referred me back to one of the Psalms and it was the longest it's like when you get to it, it says this is the longest chapter in the bible. I'm like, oh, no. I mean, it like two in the morning, you know, I've just got done feeding the baby. I'm like, I don't wanna read this giant Psalm and I'm like, well, the Lord put you here. Read it. You know, so I read it anyway. And I I woke up like forty five minutes or, you know, forty five minutes later and and the baby's smelly. She's herself, you know. And I'm like, it's it's like 02:30 in the morning. Can I just leave this until the next feeding, you know, leave it to Let mom do it? And then and and then for some reason, like like all the verses that I just read just before I went to bed hit me is that the is that my my

approach to other people should be the same approach that I have for my newborn baby. You know what I'm saying? My patience is unlimited. My my my effort doesn't stop and I always do the right thing as far as I can see. Now, obviously, I'm not the the, you know, perfect parent. Obviously, nobody is. But but like, you know, I smell this thing and I'm like, this I'm I'm gonna this is gonna wait, you know. So I lay three minutes and I decide, get up, change the baby's diaper, do the right thing. You know? I mean, obviously, I didn't have a conversation. No one knew and I was thinking, boo, you know, could put this off for a little while. So, you know, but I can't, you know? And so I got up and I changed it and whatever. It was terrible night. I was up all night all night. Right. But it was worth it cause I did the right thing. And then I for some reason, like, the whole time I was at that night, I just kept thinking, you know, why is my attitude towards other people not the same? You know, why is my patience not unlimited? Why is my just do the right thing here. You know, do the right thing on God's behalf, you know, and and do the right thing for somebody else. You know, love people, love God, serve both. Know, why why do I have so much patience? I mean, I've known this kid for six days. You know, I mean, she was born she'll be a week tomorrow or Tonight? Be a week tonight. Tomorrow morning. Yeah. Four or five hours from now, you know, whatever. So Right. I've known people longer than that that I show less patience to. You know? I mean, this I mean, obviously, she's my child and, you know, but they're all God's kids. You know? Yeah. So why does it make any difference? What's the difference? You know? And I I don't know. Was just kinda like a like a like a real quick blowback for me. You know? I and and it was probably exactly what the Lord wanted needed me to know at the time. You know? Like, it just made a ton of sense to me,

you know, just just exactly how how Jesus did. That's how exactly how Jesus did his ministry. You know? I mean, when he says when he says turn the other cheek, you know, Ben and I were talking about that on the way up here. You know, it's not it's not turn your head and ignore what's going on. It's Right. The Lord wants my cheek here. I'll move it when he tells me to. If you're slapping, then I guess you're just gonna have to keep on hitting because I move when God tells me to move, not when I get tired of getting slapped. Yeah. You know? Okay. And so and I I don't know. I I mean, it just it just all seem to come together for me that that, you know, especially that turn the cheek thing, you know. I I like to dig on I like the stubborn the stubbornness of of of God's word. Like, I that's how I thrive on it and it's it's kinda weird. But but like, you know, if the Lord wants me to sit here and get slapped, that's what I'm doing. You know? And and I I I I have to take that approach because otherwise, I get too touchy feely and I don't I don't dig it anymore, you know? Yep. But I I I don't know. I really connected with that part and and man, what what is the longest song? What is it? It's like it's in the one hundreds. It's like one one twenty, one thirty. I don't know. It's way up there. But it was like like right off the bat, blatantly says, this is the longest one. Be ready. You're in through the hall. You know? And and like, you know, and and it's it's Lord take this. Take take the phony. You know, get get get whatever I got in the way out and and, you know, let's let's go. And so I don't know. That was that was my that was my my big Jesus moment, you know, with the with the birth of the kid and stuff. I'd kinda not been reading my bible like I like I want to. And when when I came back into it, it really smacked me in the face and I I don't know it was huge. So that was that was my that was my experience with God last night. That's awesome.

Sorry. I I was I was I was thinking more about death. What do you mean? I was thinking about death. When I when I was thinking about we're talking about those guys that came and hauled people out in the bible with the linens and stuff. I just told a birth story. Yeah. No. I'm sorry. I got it. It should have been uplifting. Start anew. Fresh water. It was very long and sentimental ass. I'm sure it was beautiful. It meant a lot to me. I see that. No. But I was I was thinking about that time they

when Lazarus died. Right? And they called for they called for Lazarus. Jesus, yeah, come come help Lazarus. And Jesus is like, no. No. We're I'm gonna stay here for a few days. And then he then Lazarus dies on the way. And then then he goes to the tomb and he's like, open up the tomb. And they're like, Lord, he's been dead for three days. It sticks in there. And he's like, no. No. No. Open it up. He's alive. And then he comes strolling out, and I thought, I like the thought of the things that, are going on in the Bible. Like, the person that's recording the stories like, yeah, man. Jesus went up there and they said, he's been dead for three days, and it really stinks. The death smells in there. Don't open that stone. Like, that's the reason like, here's here's the the Lord of the universe and you're like, yeah, man. Don't go in there. It smells. It smells in there. You seem easily deterred. That's that's why they're always rolling people. Yeah. That's you know, right. I've heard it's very So it has nothing to do with the cold. It has to do with the second effects of the cold. Actually stumble out into the cold and and fall face down into the snow, and then usually that that's pretty usually the end of it. Yes. Well,
