Segments
- Two and a Half Men and the gray line 0:00–2:06
The episode opens on a question about entertainment gray areas: a sitcom like Two and a Half Men has no cursing or nudity on network TV, yet is full of inappropriate sexual content. The hosts ask where the line sits between 'not watching this show' and 'it's just a sitcom, no big deal,' and worry that growing slowly more accepting of edgy content is a downward slope.
- The sumo wrestler: feeding temptation 2:06–4:31
A host shares an illustration from an Every Young Man's Battle class: your sin nature is like a sumo wrestler you keep feeding. The more you take in (swimsuit issues, racy images), the more ammo he has against you when you pray; starve him and he gets beatable. Includes a story about stepping away from a revealingly dressed woman at a Sprint store to guard his eyes.
- Lane Bryant commercial pulled by ABC 4:31–10:57
The hosts discuss news that ABC refused to air a Lane Bryant lingerie-style commercial in an early slot like Dancing with the Stars, telling the company 'America doesn't want to see this.' They debate whether the objection was modesty or body size, note the double standard since the show's dancers wear less, and land on fairness: you can't stop the network from airing anything; your only power is over what your eyes take in.
- The rated-R spectrum and the dollar vote 10:57–12:43
Discussion of how 'rated R' covers a huge spectrum and you can't know what a rating means until you've spent money on it. The hosts land on consumer power: every dollar spent is a vote for more of the same, so Christians should fund what they want more of (Fireproof, The Blind Side) and accept that the money-tally doesn't know you walked out of a rental unwatched. One host quips 'take my money, I'll take the clean soul.'
- The great swearing debate 12:43–25:48
A long debate on swearing: one host enjoys swearing (especially Samuel L. Jackson's) and argues words are descriptive labels and the real issue is 'causing your brother to stumble' in a societal context. Others push back with Ephesians 4 on unwholesome speech, the private-vs-public consistency problem, and whether Jesus would have adapted his lingo at Matthew's tax-collector party. The discussion also covers euphemisms ('geez', 'poop' vs 'feces') and whether culture gets to define which words count as swearing.
- Society's standards and the F-bomb example 25:48–32:30
The debate narrows to whether Christians should respect society's labels for 'inappropriate' words: one host argues swearing at your child in public is simply wrong even if a word is 'just a word,' while another pushes back that accepting society's judgment across the board is a slippery broad brush. Also touched: minced oaths on TBS, kids cursing in the neighborhood, and whether a personal standard ('I won't say on stage what I won't say at home') is legalism or integrity.
- Closer or farther from God: the litmus test 32:30–35:26
A host proposes his personal decision filter, borrowed from his wife: every action either brings you closer to God or takes you farther apart. He illustrates with wanting his car antenna fixed so he can hear the Christian station 107.1 'The Light' again, and applies the test to the radio show itself, concluding the show brings him closer because it's dedicated weekly time with guys pursuing Jesus.
- Jesus in a suit: the TBN comedy bit 35:26–37:32
Comedy riff spinning off the question of what to watch instead of edgy TV: Jimmy Swaggart and TBN get lampooned as 'Jesus in a suit' doing business deals through a headset like a Mediacom call center, including jokes about Jesus's caller ID reading 'I am' and the call being long distance.
- Scripture clarity, Matt on the chat, and the porn-church guy 37:32–53:47
A running tiff with chat participant Matt ('big daddy-o') who argues scripture is black-and-white with no interpretation needed; the hosts counter that gray areas still require prayer, interpretation, and the Holy Spirit, and that declaring 'Jesus speaks this way' beyond what scripture says is dangerous. The thread expands into legalism: the Catholic Church's priest-celibacy hedge, strict Christian colleges banning earrings and dancing, and a respectful nod to the XXXchurch ministry guy who witnesses at adult-entertainment conventions. Wraps with the Truth Project takeaway that God is not afraid of your questions.
- The DJ dilemma at teen dances 53:47–56:05
A host who owns a DJ business wrestles with playing even 'clean' radio edits at teen dances when the lyrics are suggestive: he draws a line at the most explicit songs but wonders if he's a hypocrite providing music he'd rather teens not hear, since he can't take the money without delivering the product.
- Music humor: Timberlake lyrics and the grocery haul parody 56:05–58:14
Rapid music-and-media bits: a host mocks a Timbaland/Justin Timberlake lyric ('take my order because your body like a carryout') as degrading, then defends Huey Lewis's 'Hip to Be Square' against secret-meaning hunts, before the crew jokes about the 'back to food' pattern and starts spoofing YouTube haul videos with a grocery-store haul.
- YouTube's 5th anniversary, milk banter, and the weight-loss bet 58:15–1:05:23
Light banter to close the first hour: YouTube's fifth anniversary prompts bemusement at 'haul videos' (100,000+ of women showing shopping hauls), which derails into milk-type compromises in marriage, cereal habits, and a host's weight-loss bet — $100 a piece if he doesn't lose 30 pounds by June, with side-bet scheming. Chat chatter (big daddy-o, an Ireland view) leads into a break on Live From The Path, Des Moines Amplified, with archives at livefromthepath.org.
- Break music: the Lonely Goatherd yodel 1:05:23–1:12:47
The mid-show break begins with a yodel song ('lay or lay or lay,' the Lonely Goatherd number) followed by several minutes of untranscribed break time before the show returns. Note: the final transcript segment of this chapter spans several minutes of break silence.
- Back from break: ketchup bottles and the missing bathroom 1:12:48–1:14:14
The hosts return riffing on ketchup bottles being painted red inside, then do the comeback routine: the show is the longest they've gone without talking about food, a co-host (Mike, named on-air) is back after a bathroom hunt, and the building apparently has no bathroom on this floor.
- Pathway Church plugs and the static-noise bit 1:14:14–1:16:27
Church and show plugs: Pathway Church in Johnston meets Sundays at 10 a.m. at Wallace Elementary, site thepathonline.org; archives at livefromthepath.org. A running bit about a static noise only one host hears, plus banter about the church website's photos (the back of his head, his piano) and whether lice-free living counts as clean living.
- The lice symposium 1:16:27–1:24:22
An extended comedy tangent on lice: whether they're singular or plural ('a louse'), whether they jump, where their natural habitat is, cat lice not transferring to humans (credited to Mike's wife), and birds as carriers. The chat participant Olsen is asked to look things up; 'zoonotic' gets a definition and immediate regret. Nobody actually knows anything, which is the joke.
- Plans for live music on the show 1:24:22–1:26:59
A host explains outreach for musical guests: this week's music fell through on 'clearances,' so they plan to feature folks from their church next week, but emails to three other churches and a family member about appearing went unanswered for a week and a half. He plans to visit one church in person and promises the pitch is pro-ministry, not church-stealing.
- Pants calls in on Skype 1:26:59–1:37:53
Pants, a show regular (named on-air), calls in via Skype from his basement with audio but no working video. The hosts heckle him, revisit last week's Dan-hoot impression ('it was dead on'), ask about his brother's barbecue-chicken pizza and upcoming wedding to a food scientist (whom one host wants to consult on the lice question), and joke about unemployment and picking lice for pay before signing off with him.
- Sign-off 1:37:48–1:38:32
Standard close just after midnight: Live From The Path airs Mondays 10 to midnight on Des Moines Amplified, archives at livefromthepath.org, and Pathway Church in Johnston meets Sundays at Wallace Elementary at 10 a.m. (thepathonline.org).
- Closing song 1:38:32–1:39:14
The episode closes with a performed song about being 'busted' — a stack of bills, going to his brother for a loan, his brother saying there ain't a thing he can do — as the hosts wrap.

Full transcript
uh… they like to watch the show two and a half men now it's funny shows a sitcom no big deal there's a lot of inappropriate sort of guys a woman is right right i mean and and while there may not be cussing in the show because on television of course and and there's not you know nudity because it's on to it but there's a lot of things that are inappropriate about show where's the line between
should i not watch this show or is it okay for me to watch this show and we kind of talked about like gambling a couple weeks ago you know like that but same thing for on these lines are like like uh like a movie like i i tend to like and this might be a typical guy type of thing but i tend to like you know like a mob movie or or something like that but that tends to be of course rated r and there's gonna be violence cussing and and they always just got to throw in for for no random reason
just a naked woman or something in there just just because you know so it's like because they can yeah yeah you know it just for no point but but so where's the line you know like like maybe something that's extreme like that maybe that is clear that okay that's that's beyond the line i probably just even if i tend to want to watch that i probably shouldn't but something that's in between that sort of sounds like a gray area and you're thinking you could stand back and you could say either way two and a half men big deal it's just a sitcom let's not go too far with this right but on the other hand
but but but the downward slope yeah is is is slow slow but it can still get you if it becomes more and more accepting it just mentally to you it's like well it wasn't that big of a deal they're getting away with it whatever it is they're doing you know um but because like if you if you single it out and you may say well this you know watching this show and and you could say well you know what i i feel like i'm a strong christian i know right from wrong i know you know not that you're like indulging but like you know hey i can handle a few swear words uh hearing it in a movie and i don't have to go around swearing i'm an
adult here i'm a christian i i know my my lines so it's not a big deal for me to hear that but on what line does it go too far where you don't think it's a big deal and maybe you legitimately don't but it still shouldn't be partake well i think there's uh i did the uh the every young man's battle class um uh with the youth once and i'm pretty sure i got way more out of it than they did uh but uh the guy the guy did a real good example about uh about you and your and this this goes for for for your sex drive along with everything else you know your your willingness to kind of stray from the line of of godliness is is your the guy opposing you is a sumo wrestler you know and the more you feed
him the harder he is to beat you know so the more that you know you think that that uh it's not really that big of a deal looking at the the swimsuit issue from sports illustrated you know they ain't naked ladies you know they're not doing anything gross or whatever it's just god's creation out in the middle of god's creation doing doing uh good lady stuff you know but uh that's what that is good lady stuff but but uh you know the thing is is like your your sumo can't use it as ammo if you never saw it you know it's not i mean and and right now you know as as it sits uh he's gonna level you every time he's gonna beat you down every time you get in the ring because you feed him too much
you give him too much to eat you know the more the more you randomly see stuff like that you know the more that you you take it in you know not that you're doing it on purpose not that you're trying to stray from god on purpose you know but the more of that stuff you have the i mean just think of think about every time you go to pray you know there's always that one thing that comes in your head that shouldn't be there you know and it's just one more piece of ammo that that dude's got against you you know so if you can pair this sumo guy and starve him for a while and get him down so he's you know two inches shorter than you and 10 pounds less you got him whooped you know it just
becomes easier yeah you know not to say that you can't do anything you know i mean i mean because if your mind's looking to cause trouble it's going to cause trouble you know if you're looking you're just stray you'll stray you know and you have to protect yourself in our in our i mean okay yesterday i'm at the sprint store my phone's having issues we go to the sprint and there's this gal sitting down on the bench and some guy's helping her and every everything she has to offer it's just her shirt's way down low and it's all hanging out i'm just like well this is kind of awkward and i could have stayed there and just everyone's gonna go whoops you know and and of course the temptation's there
it's like well she's obviously wants everyone to see it and the guy who helped her was like you know looking so i had to like take about five steps behind her so that it's you know she's just out of my view yeah and uh because you know that's true you can go to a grocery store there's a magazine cover or yeah or a commercial uh i mean it's everywhere it is it's interesting though because you like um i don't know if you guys heard recently about the the lane bryant issue yeah did you hear about that like like and i only heard it vaguely on kind of like a news story but um hold on is that a ladies catalog that you're looking at no no i heard about the news story like abc or something what is
older yeah yeah what is it well lane bryant is like a plus size oh women's store okay like regular clothes okay and forget my drag nightly clothes yeah got that sorry um anyways um so i guess 50 of the audience thought that was funny the rest of them are disgusting they're in the best room right now that that was the gray year we're talking about exactly cross the line i do cross that line periodic you're not getting the stage no but uh um yeah they were talking about they were talking about um uh yeah late lane bryant was had created this uh commercial that they wanted to air on abc and i guess they wanted to air it during like dancing with the stars or something like an
earlier time slot and it was basically like so so they're you know full size that's who they sell to is full size women or plus size yeah sure and uh and but it was kind of like a lingerie sort of commercial for their store and abc pulled it and said we're not going to show this um you need to change it or edit it or i don't know whatever and and and then come back to us or i think they and i and i'm not sure if this is accurate but they said something like well we can show this during the nine o'clock slot or something but not in the one you wanted because people don't want to see this basically and like too much cleavage and well yeah and and kind of like i i will i am i am i am i seeing it the same
way dancing he says too much cleavage but are they saying it's because the ladies are plus size that i think yeah well it's kind of well it's kind of both it's the fact that i i took it to be two different things like a it was kind of because like too much because they are plus size they're showing more something to cleavage yeah i guess but then also i i took it to mean also that that they um that they're kind of saying look america doesn't want to see this ah well i find that really hard to believe have you seen dancing with the stars no that's exactly that's a you mean there's not that women aren't attractive on there or what no the women are are scantily dressed no no and that and that's exactly what the news was saying about this story
is that's ridiculous because they're on the commercial they're wearing more clothes than than the dancers are on the show but they're i guess the but the the point is is that they're saying america doesn't want to see this meaning you know half naked plus size people not appealing you know and and and i guess lane bryant stuck to their guns and says no we're not changing it and now i don't really know what the outcome of that was um but but they're getting a lot of uh press saying good for you lane bryant for not you know adjusting this but it's kind of interesting because you think well is is because they're going to say like the company's going to say well we just you know we do research all this stuff we do what america wants and they and they don't care about ethics or you know religion type of thing they're just going to do they're going to put
on the cover of the magazine whatever sells so if men if you're saying you know half naked woman sells they're going to put that on there regardless of whether that should be ethical or not um but but it's kind of interesting to question is that what are we telling the companies that or the companies telling us no america this is what you want i'm telling you you want this yeah you know what i mean i think there's some of both right right because because you got a point it's kind of like you point the finger at the company saying look quit showing this stuff but like what i think we talked about before it's like every every dollar you spend is a is a dollar vote for whatever you're spending it on so if people buy that magazine you're saying keep doing what you're doing i like it and they're just going to do more of it what you really want is the cupcake recipe that's
you know hidden in the back yeah yeah well no they're going to do more of it and then so then the finger gets pointed back on america saying look then stop buying if this is wrong if you don't really want this then stop putting money towards that but then but then really which comes kind of the chicken and egg which comes first is they're going to say well america we're just we're just doing what america wants just like inappropriate movies well that's that's obviously not true because abc has to shut down at midnight and be off the air for five hours because no one wants nobody cares but the fox reality channel 24 hours a day still rocking yeah are they feet but are they feeding us what because you know fashion trends i mean they're not waiting to see what we're wearing they're they're telling you here's what's fashionable and then it catches on so are they telling us look we know you want to
see i mean maybe there's are is there men out there that would rather that that want to see the the lane bryant commercial yeah i'm sure there is oh yeah probably but they're basically saying no that's we don't need to show that no one we no one wants to see that a whole segment of of women that want to see it because yeah it they would fit right they want to buy these these uh items from lane bryant i mean i don't i don't know where i don't know if i necessarily find that offensive or not like i mean if they're if they're showing regular commercials they're i mean what's wrong with having the lane bryant commercial too if you're going to use that uh ideological because the thing is you can't stop the network from showing anything right you can only stop what your eyes take in you know yeah so so like on a on a on a on a fairness standpoint i say if you're going to so show a
victoria's secret commercial show a lane bryant commercial if i can't much more tasteful than the victoria's secret if i can't handle either one you know it's my responsibility to do this number you know it's not their responsibility not to show it if they you know based on the plus size lady i don't know i don't know i don't see that because it's not like they were obese you know i mean it wasn't like i mean i saw a part of the commercial in some clip too and i'm like what's if they didn't tell me it was lane bryant i wouldn't have thought to myself wow there's there's one large woman you know i mean it wasn't like yeah and you know it's like where where do you where do you point the finger at because everyone's just gonna like ultimately i mean it does rest back on on america like you if you get these i mean movies these days rated r movies i mean the the spectrum of
it's like they're they're you know you've got rated r then you got like the next step above that's like nc 17 and that's goes really inappropriate but then it's like rated r like there's a a big spectrum of what fits in rated r right there's a big difference like or you know when we talk about what you should or shouldn't partake in it's like okay if if i see a thing for a rated r movie and i look at the it says rated r for language whatever right but you don't know that language means well you said the f word once that's r automatic or if that means we cuss every minute and you don't know until you've used your dollars to find out yeah what if it's a what if it's a biography and hitler says the f-bomb you know they can't really edit it out he's gotta be he's gotta be the websites though that tell you all that stuff there is yeah yeah i can't tell you
what they are but i mean i know they exist that will count sexual scenes and and f-bombs because i guess you'd have to do your your further research because i mean uh anna and i you know i've watched a movie where it's like we just stopped it you know and it's like you know i and it's good that that we were able to just stop it and and that's it you know but and we kind of drew a line but you already like paid for the movie yeah so you've already i'll trade you my morality for eight bucks no no i don't mean that i mean praise be god i mean i mean it to say you've already voted for the movie with the dollars you spent yeah and and you know i may have walked out or i may have returned the rental unwatched but they don't necessarily know that yeah and i already gave it a tally of saying yes i like this because i but you still haven't if you turn it off you haven't polluted
your soul no true true true take my money i'll take the clean soul that's like yeah yeah but yeah but if you're ultimately trying to say you know let's let's shift um you know have a little revolution saying okay if we don't need these things let's the only way to stop these things is if people stop putting the money towards it yeah i mean if you and and uh like if you look at the movies of recent like fire you know fireproof that made a lot of money uh blindside wasn't directly a christian movie but it kind of was and yeah and that made a lot of money that you know the more of that stuff the more they'll actually start putting that out there mainstream you know but if you keep if you keep going to the our dirty movies you know it's like you're they're gonna keep putting that out i have a hard time not going to see things because of swearing for some reason i don't hold
swearing in that high of a regard i have that problem myself in fact i happen to enjoy samuel jackson's swearing yeah and i don't know why but i can't help it he's just could pull it off very well he's just cool swear when he swears it's i don't know it's hip it's hip i don't know why that's held in such i don't hold it in any type of you know whatever like i mean because i i can shut down swearing when i'm around my grandma you know so i can shut down swearing whenever i want you know but i don't know like like the nudity i you know i i give or take and go you know some some forms of of violence like i don't really care for but man the swearing i just sometimes if i see a movie without swearing i think man i wish they just swore it really brought their point home is there is there direct bible references to no swearing well it's it's actually this is one of the things that
i i've uh i've tried to find some some leeway with because i do enjoy swearing like i just always have uh i'm not like a sailor uh but but i think i give in certain company it's just it's it's it's entertaining and so but the thing that i that i think i i came down with was um it's a cause your brother to stumble thing because like think of think of the type of language that you tend to use right like there's certain words that i don't use even if i am going on a swear fest um but but like some some of them are just like they're just descriptive words right i'm just using one word for another like if i said but instead of ass i mean we really what is the what is it what is the difference there's i don't find that offensive there's nothing there's nothing really foul there it's just a different way of talking about something it's it's that word i don't think
is is universally accepted it's looked at a swear because you're talking about somebody's butt for no reason it's more of it's a coarse conversation not really how you're describing it right the same thing is uh we we repeatedly referred to feces last month last last week you know i mean there are other words for that that aren't any more harsh really it's just the same it's a describing the same thing um but it's become heads up it's become part of the parlance as a nasty word so write that down so so i mean i mean that's where i struggle is is there's not except for the fact that societally if i go around swearing i have a i have a harder time with my christian witness not because those words are not christian that has nothing to do with it but in in a societal context people look at that and say that guy's swearing and automatically think well
he you know he's the same thing with the dude living together uh before you marry exactly they're living together they're bopping yeah yeah i hear you that so and actually ben and i've had this discussion before and we decided that since it since we boiled it down to a cause your brother to stumble issue then if it's just him and i in the van we can swear all we want because we obviously know we obviously know uh it's not going to cause each other to stumble okay dan now poke holes in that theory go ahead uh wow i should bring like a my computer that has all like the bible and stuff on it yeah there's lots of holes in that okay let's have it come up with at least one i'm here to learn uh look up ephesians 4 uh there's a whole thing about there about uh language and and euphemisms uh you know it scripture even says not to use a euphemism don't even say poop when you
really could have said you know something else maybe you should use the word feces um well but what what is it different like what is that word yeah it describes the same thing well you went to university didn't you well hold on a minute you have one of those college university just because the first guy that took a dump on the ground and said oh feces he got the coin and so like that's the only word you get to use going forward for the same thing but it's most of of culture that finds certain they do culture does define what word is in the world but not of it dan why do i have to use the cultural standards set forth by a society which you've said is on the wrong track so i can't i can't do all the things that they are say good but but uh and then the stuff they say is bad i have to go along with that that doesn't seem fair i know it's it's weird i mean
and words are so it depends on your family it really does i have words i grew up with but i i said around cheryl and she like almost you know had a heart attack that i would say a word like that i'm like well it's just what you say when you urinate i mean you know it's like oh what's the problem with that and uh i remember once saying the word butt around and some family they were like this like years ago they're like oh we don't use that word in this house they say bottom whatum exactly we say bum it's like well actually i say bum i think it's funnier that's why i use it it's all british type you know it's like yeah i don't know i mean i don't have really intelligent intelligence there's plenty of holes uh but i don't really there's terrible yeah trust me they're very unspecific i could find scriptures but you know i was on vacation last week so yeah well i'm afraid
using the a double s word during the show but you know i'm have trouble outside until i can find some like i've been looking now i have been looking because i would like something if it's if it's inappropriate like there again there are certain now now hold on to be fair jesus would have said it so that should be enough that's how do you well it no only in 1611 king james version other than that now hold on a minute now hold on it doesn't record every conversation jesus ever had you think he swore to the disciples no no no it doesn't have anything to do with swearing it has to do like the top of the conversation so so that begs the question is do you or do you just not talk about feces is that complete like so so do you think when he was at matthew's house having this party with all the tax collectors he used maybe some different lingo than he did when he was with the disciples no i don't
think he's saying that that he would change his link because obviously the lord doesn't change his statutes for depending on the on the on the crowd you know he's the same but maybe the the word that was used in the day was the a word who's to say maybe we replaced it with feces because we found it offensive that's possible why would you even find it offensive it's just a word i don't know i like to swear i'm trying to turn it down the joke yet oh yeah the lord will help me it needs to go it really does but i i'm having trouble okay i'm taking great notes for future sermons though this is awesome about swearing about i will have you guys's pictures on the screen i tell you what i'm gonna tell you something right now if you go on a hell and damn nation tour about swearing people will get up and leave yes because everyone loves
to swear that's generally my goal each week who will leave now dan have you ever uh have you ever swore you let a swear word go uh either intentionally or unintentionally before i was a christ follower i had most of the neighborhood parents would not let their children play with me because i taught them words and phrases and combinations thereof that they did not appreciate that was a long time ago i mean i have not sworn i might have under my breath when i had a really bad playing football once in high school mm-hmm not out loud predictable i see a lot of holes there i'm not going to talk about it because they're very vague and i was on vacation last week all i know is it's okay if you're playing football if you're if you're playing football leviticus 7 18 football's cool but again that depends on who you ask my wife would say i did swear when we met and uh
um my wife would say some of the words the kids use nowadays nowadays are are referring to uh things that are not necessarily uh what's all right so like there there's where i think your distinction is right there's where i think um it's it's conceptually a lot of the a lot of the swear words are are describing foul things like extremely foul things um like you shouldn't be calling people or referring to it's it's it's what it's describing the act is is a foul thing but it's not but you know outside of that there's words that are not they're describing we found different ways of saying the same thing and we've labeled that one as a swear word when really it's just it's universally the same way to refer to the thing right and and it depends on how you use it too because no matter which word you you pick if you use it in the right context it's crass no matter what word you use you know
and yeah but what about what about uh we we have a neighbor who well we hear that we hear the young kids and i don't know what they're eight or nine or whatever and they're out there just cussing and saying dirty things and everything and and you don't really know whether it's like should i say something tell them hey you shouldn't be talking like that or knock it off or whatever it is or or should you not or you know whatever you could say not on my property yeah yeah well townhouse is kind like uh but but but then on the other hand you see where they get it because we all we hear out out the window the parent going hey get in the effing van and we go we go it's the foos boys on the way to church yeah come on mike but yeah i'm guilty of that relatively recently that's that's way more true than you think it is yeah i don't but but i mean like we've uh covered something here yeah
there seems to be a lot of holes that's where it is right there but but i mean especially i mean especially i don't think that's that's appropriate period much less saying that to your child and now obviously you know that's their parenting standard uh and even even that like i question man should i say something and say hey yeah i don't think you should you know whatever and like and that may cross the line but it's like you know you're out and you're out in a public area saying that i don't think you should be saying that to your child now we haven't necessarily said anything and that's not really the point is like that's you know even if you're okay like you could get down to the bare bones of it and say well a word is just a word you just put meaning to a word and you've created it to to be a problem right agreed but if society agrees that that's
inappropriate i don't think you should be saying that to your kids or i mean or much less in public like like there there's got to be a line where that that's wrong like like yelling around saying hey getting the oh well but you know but but society also frowns upon the uh the guy standing on the box and you know turn to jesus the end is dear yeah i mean and that guy's that guy's outrageous yeah but that's no but that's not wrong that's just annoying or something like that's not wrong or the dudes in front of the acd concert here recently they were telling everybody they're going to hell yeah highway to hell well yeah you're going well hold on i would disagree that society doesn't look at that as wrong because like you have factions society that will look at that and say you're oppressive your your beliefs are oppressive you're you are trying to uh infringe on my right to believe
what i want i agree that i agree that people may see it offensive or something but i mean that that's more that's more like a sharing of opinion and and you can get into a debate about that cussing at your kid about getting in the van to me that's i don't see how we can how we can legitimize that that's actually okay whether it says that specifically in the bible or not you're making distinctions based on your own opinion that's the thing is like you you see one is less than the other you know like you're kind of making decisions on society's behalf okay well let's okay let's just narrow it on on my example and not not compare it to somebody standing on the box you're trying to tell me that that's not wrong no i'm not trying to say that at all well that's what it seems like you guys are not like no no for that like like it's maybe okay to do that no no what i'm saying is is is is you you
would you'd given a general principle that if society and as a whole has accepted that something is not wrong that something is wrong um that that you should act in response to that and that's like that broad brush is what i'm not comfortable with because i'm not comfortable that society can make that decision on my well well no no i'm saying it specifically about this example i'm not saying that everything society says is wrong we have to go by but i'm saying you know because because like we said if you break it down a word is just a word so you could say it doesn't matter what word in the whole universe that i say it's just a word made up of letters and if you want to break it down you could be technical about it and say well really this word has no meaning unless man gives it meaning blah blah blah and that's but that's ridiculous you know uh of course you know a word has a meaning
and you know what the meaning is and and and it's an inappropriate word like it just and i understand what you're saying like some people aren't going to find it inappropriate you know maybe maybe like you said a whole family just kind of says that to each other that's how they grow up they don't take offense to it but you know i don't know like and it's a side in a whole though i mean like like and i don't mean to generalize this as in anything society says is as bad is bad but but we'd have to agree that that saying the f-bomb that that's not acceptable generally how i look at it if i won't say something from the stage at church that i won't say it at home either i mean that's that's my philosophy what about those what about those people that replace swear words with something that sounds like a swear word yeah like on the tbs or something when they well like like change that
like like they don't the the principle is not to use the lord's name in vain so they say geez right now technically ephesians says you're not to do that either i mean if you want to get into the nitty-gritty scripture it can get pretty uh i mean pretty picky well it's funny though because like geez though has come like that obviously is where it derives but then it's become its own slang word you know like like if i say ah geez i'm not meaning it as boy i was about to say ah jesus and i stopped because people i just say your finger i just say geez because that's what you say geez you know there's a lot of different words and then i don't see well that's not what you meant it's like that's exactly what i meant yeah it wasn't like it too yeah i didn't want to say the other one you know i wasn't like on the verge well yeah i wasn't like going boy i shouldn't say that
quick brain oh geez you know it was just like no you just say geez because it separated itself and become its own word yeah however that's how i learned to not say the word was like over time replaced it yeah you know with words so i when i kind of read that sometimes i kind of slap myself around like hmm i don't know where i am on this you know yeah uh personally you know i i don't say hey sure i'll get in the effing van most probably shouldn't have a van exactly if we had a van swearing van yeah but i think that's the i but i think that's exactly the point like jesus does geez does not have a um like it only attaches meaning that you attach it like the same the guilty party there is a person that says well this is what you meant when you said that it's the person attaching the meaning to it so um i i don't think anybody's in disagreement on the
uh uh swearing at your kids like i get that but what i'm i think in general what you're we're kind of skimming over is to the extent that like people are responsible for how hefty they they attach meaning to a word like a word is is simply a word now but it does carry who categorizes them between naughty and nice right how does one become swearing now see not like you take you take the f word for example it's talking about a dirty act that you generally shouldn't be conversing about unless you're married it's a very nice act clean but does it really but does it really matter where it came from because it is what it is today and you can argue history of words but that's going to be a ridiculous argument compared to the fact that it is what it is it has a meaning today like maybe even in you know there's a lot of words that we use in a complete different context now than we do you would have in
1960s whether even even regular words you know you say something's cool well we know that means it's cool you know what i mean and not not that it's cold i mean like but and same thing i'm feeling gay today it is a whole different thing yeah i mean i was wondering where that shirt choice came from feeling rather gay it came from the woman's story he didn't say that but you know it i mean i mean does it really matter where we're something derived from like if it's if it's unacceptable today and i and i see what you're saying though it was like who's to judge what's what's unacceptable or not right and that's and so i understand that point of it but it's like but it is what it is so like if it's unacceptable then it just is right so you know as a christ follower you always come back to god's word what does god say yeah which is where you asked me a long time ago and i didn't
have an answer uh you know when it comes to like god himself his name that's very spin that's even in the top 10 you know it's like don't mess with the name of god you know i don't use it flippantly um and i honestly would have to do something i mean i know i know there's some stuff out there that i've that i've i've and the proverbs has a bunch of stuff in it um like i say ephesians has a little well yeah i mean there's like don't like don't let foul things come out of your lips like i like i totally get that it's it's the the comparison is is is just is how is how things like that become barriers for people in their in their non-christian life right well even foolish you mean like like like our whole radio program probably is anti-biblical dang see how i hurt my language there you know yeah i know what you meant i meant something terrible go ahead say it
darn it man just call it the radio van i wish no that's interesting though because because the radio van get in a freaking radio van come on somebody here we go somebody was bringing up like when you talk about again the gray area like you could go extreme and and and she was giving me an example where like like um in a christian context where it's even said sometimes that you shouldn't use sarcasm yeah because that's borderline that's my whole vocabulary yeah yeah and i don't and i don't really agree with that but i mean like like they're saying you know you could go extreme and say well but sarcasm is and i don't even whatever right and and but you could go that along those lines and say well really that's that's not really appropriate either and it's like that's the beauty of words you could pretty much pigeonhole anybody right and nail them to the wall and say
you're inappropriate well and that's and that's how that's how we got 50 different religions under one christian flag you know how you interpret you know i guess i guess the main point is is like you know are you so concerned with checking the gray area instead of just staying away from it you know like are you so concerned like are you are you more worried about what can i get away with then what should i be doing you know yeah in my life i have certs i won't say but if you say them i'm not going to look down on you i'm not going to say man mike's got issues um you know i'm not going to go up in you know that's dead on though probably a fair assessment both ways you know so and that's where you get a little out of line is when you start getting the legalism you know you know it's like here's what my convictions therefore you should have them too and you're wrong if you
don't agree with me unless you have a specific here's my chapter and verse it's it's more here's my here's here's how our family here's what i believe the lord has led me how to how to live yeah yeah and when you grow up he'll lead you that way too okay so stop acting like a bunch of ruffians in a van okay so here's the question so right we've been kind of on the chat and the question was or it was stated that um jesus can judge what is acceptable and unacceptable and he is very clear what is good and what is not um so the question that i guess i'm having is is obviously it's not like he laid out information on like every one of these specific things right he didn't say okay it's acceptable acceptable to say the s word instead of the p-w-o-p right and and so although i would agree can i say poop yeah i've said that from the stage okay you've done it all right so so i think i'm gonna
i'm obviously in agreement that that that jesus knows that distinction and it has provided us moral guidance within the bible but i think it's probably a stretch to say that is it has been given absolutely clear in situations like that right right you have guidance but i i'm not sure there's clarity without prayer in things in things like oh yeah that's probably a perfect well and like you and and i think this is where you're getting at when you brought this up ben is is he said you know does it hurt your serve you know um yeah if if you know if it's gonna cause you to stumble to to your brother or even just in the sight of your brother then maybe maybe you shouldn't be doing it yeah right no no that's exactly what i was getting at and you know um but again that circles back to maybe the radio show needs to get in check you know that's for other people we'd be
better off quitting yeah i don't think we can pull it together we can still have fun and goofy though and not you know and again i'm just making my own definition of what you know i that's actually another um another thought i had i was um my car the antenna came off my my car i don't know did you swear i wasn't swearing no like i here's i tell you what here's the thing i don't do is i don't swear uh i usually i don't swear in anger like i don't ever i don't get mad and start swearing right i just do it for entertainment i'm more yeah i'm more prone to use it for entertainment purposes but like um so the radio antenna falls off in my car and um i i really wanted to replace it but it was a bit expensive to replace um but i wanted it because i wanted the christian radio station back because i couldn't get the 1071 the light which i i'm gonna talk about a little later
they were irritating me the other day um but i wanted it back and um and i think i was talking to my wife about it and i said you know i would like to do this so i can get the christian radio station and i really feel like i should be spending more time listening to christian radio and it has nothing to do with that i'm like enthralled with the music but but the question is is is what i'm listening to um bringing me closer to god or bringing me farther apart because you know my wife actually said that one time you know like all the actions that we take in our relationship are either bringing us closer together or or taking us farther apart and i and i i didn't thought about didn't think about that at the time and that would have been the thing to say i would have had her um but um what would have been the thing to say but it was to to say you know because
i i think she was um she was not impressed with the urgency with which i wanted to replace the intent in my car um because it like as if it wasn't necessary but i think the the point was um you know like as i thought about that as i really thought you know that's probably the distinction for me on a lot of these things is what i'm doing bringing me closer to god or you know putting distance between god and i and i actually thought of the radio show and i thought of a couple other things that um you know that i think i have to to to pray on to say you know is this something um that is separating you know me from god or something that's bringing bringing us closer you know i think you know i think i can look at this type of thing and i'd say i think we're getting closer simply for the fact that there is dedicated time each week to get together and talk with other guys
that are trying to live you know from the path to god and you know what does that look like for people and do you know you know are you talking about the same things as everybody else that's trying you know or is or is that your internal dialogue way different you know and what does that say about you know your walk with jesus so i mean i don't think that was really in question but there were um there have been a plenty of things where you know i think is this is this adding value not to my life but to my christian life and to my um and to my walk with god well that and that kind of circles back though to the two so is is is watching two and a half men interfering with your path to god because that's it not to go back on this but it's like well i would say that's ridiculous but in that tiny bit of way is it is it dropping the sand dropping the sand until
eventually you got a huge yeah yeah feed and sumo yeah but i mean because on one way you're like okay i probably got bigger fish to fry i gotta get myself right i don't need to worry about you know two and a half minute tv show no big deal yeah but i could be watching i could be watching jimmy swagger i could be watching tbn yeah that'd be even worse i could watch it i don't know that gets me swearing tbn gets me riled up oh newman actually i've been trying to catch tbn on occasion and i tell you i try i really do there's nothing else on oh you know there's there's no moral quality programming so i think well watch i'll check out the let's worship together and man i tell you moral programming oh man i just is it sometimes something about watch like it reminds me of jesus in a suit for some reason like when i watch these programs and that's not i mean litter you know like like trying
to strike a business deal like it doesn't come off as like grassroots roller skates you know didn't have a business card i mean all i see these with a headset on you know working deals when i watch these things i'm like man i just i'm not feeling he works in a call center yeah making calls every day this is jesus we'd like you to come back to us we want you back at media com that's the time how can we being jesus i know what's in your bank account we've got fox again maybe we should be friends well i'd like to see what the caller id said if jesus called you yeah would it be a swear word we'll probably be long distance i bet you long distance it says i am who's this guy i am sorry is there is there is there is there is there stuff going on on the yeah well i i'm in a bit of a tiff with with big daddy-o on the patio uh i believe it was matt
from last week he um so he said no interpretation it is black black and white like we were talking about um like if there's clarity for certain um things within the bible and again i my i think overall point was that we have guidance but i mean obviously i think it's it's a bit foolish to assume to say that god uh or jesus in the new testament has provided us specific actionable like uh things for everything everything's not black yeah right so i mean i can't read the king james version because today some of those words are square words that weren't really i mean i think that's true yeah okay so right so here's so i said like the like the what is it the the donkey yeah yeah you can't say donkey you gotta say you have to say get off your donkey and do something yeah it's like i can't say that i know what you meant by that though exactly king james don't tell us that way he's very adamant
says jesus makes it very clear what is correct and not correct right and wrong very clear okay okay big daddy give us a list yeah let's let's get a verse from you all knowing can we say but yeah yeah it doesn't say what's with but let's have it daddy-o or bum i'm i'm in social support of bum so he's insinuating that there's so what i said was that there you were my concern is that you're insinuating that there is clarity without prayer in the gray area so we are not in agreement and i guess that's where i still sit i because i think the the the potential damage in in saying yeah is is is is kind of accosting somebody and saying jesus speaks this way about what you should or should not do in your life and if it's not in there you've tried to support god that he doesn't need your support you know he doesn't need your additional information with what he's provided i'm not
arguing that aka mormons that right i'm not i am not arguing that jesus is not provided i i think he's provided obviously enough information to be able to live your life morally in tune with the bible what i'm but i have to make some interpretations though i i think you have to i think you have to pray on things and i think you have to focus on things we have the holy spirit in us to help us in areas that are are not specifically specifically yeah yeah i mean i mean because i mean if we were to i mean the bible can't contain every word that's right or wrong because it changes yeah it went like in what language because then it goes back to well that's in the greek okay so what did that you know someone interpreted that to english right you know even culturally cross across continents the whole thing i mean things are are you know different over there and and
unacceptable you know here and there and exactly may not be it yeah like when they tell you not to hit your best slave and you're like well i wouldn't i don't have a slave so i guess i won't beat him anymore i mean that's culturally unrelevant you know to to nowadays but nevertheless it's in that bible but in the first country it's very relevant right exactly exactly i yeah you know simply for asking that question you are you're proving the point that obviously you if you have to ask does it hurt my ministry then you're having to answer the question that is not in that that there's not a biblical verse to tie to it which is exactly my point oh boy he's made he's i think he's accusing me of not reading the bible like that we don't read that what you're accusing he said he says i don't think we read the same bible didn't we ask for a specific verse already i haven't
seen it yet i mean look it's i i'm not understanding like if you're if can cursing uh hurt somebody absolutely it can uh there's also i mean i could also use i could sit in a in a van with mike and swear the whole time and there's no there's no negative impact there i could litter in front of somebody is that as bad do they think all christians are litterers now turn them away from god but do you do you think that do you think truly though that that partaking in that in in a private scene there uh would not affect you to maybe be more likely to to try and cuss or accidentally cuss or have to hold back when you don't need to subject yourself to that see even in private you know see i don't think so because i used to think that was the case although i i shouldn't say that i it's probably the same thing as a sumo guy right it's probably the same thing uh but but i know as soon
as i cross state lines and go down and visit my grandparents who my grandpa's a baptist minister it goes away no problems i mean it shuts down you know it just doesn't happen doesn't matter if i fall hit a knife you know hit somebody someone fingers me whatever it goes but i mean uh because i mean isn't it biblical to to be the same in private you know by yourself as you would be in public right right so there's no there's no difference in god's eyes well true i mean it's integrity i mean this so and that's the thing is like like inherently and that's and that's what's sitting around the discussion like inherently there's nothing really unbiblical about dropping a cuss bomb you know like there there really isn't so is it but if you do it in public right that's wrong if you were to do it by yourself or with ben is it still wrong right like am i only not doing it because i think it
would hurt someone else's walk with christ yeah so if you're completely by now now given if you know the bible is going to say okay you should be still the same by yourself alone as you are you know outwardly so you shouldn't be like you know one guy putting on doing things right and then go home and be doing things wrong or being by yourself and doing things wrong well our words are an overflow of what's in our heart jesus said you know i mean if our heart is connecting with god and we're doing our best to live you know jesus way it's going to affect you know the words we say whether it's in public or in private or or in a book or whatever you know we're writing our latest novel you know whatever i mean it's just it's i guess it is it is the feed in the sumo thing because it comes back to the same thing while you know watching a sitcom is seemingly has nothing to do with your walk with
god and and uh but feeding the sumo tiny little bits so even if you're in private and you're doing that it's no big deal maybe it's adding up to a big deal in the long run right right i think i think what it what it boils down to is am i looking for what i can get away with not for really what the lord wants me to be doing you know like i'm like am i'm like lord you know i just want to be able to sit in my van and swear at my brother you know we're not going to talk we're not going to offend anybody you know we're going to bring it out to anybody else but we're swearing when they're in the van you know am i am i just attempting to uh fit the lord into what i want yeah well i because i want to swear yeah or i even realized recently like what just today when i was talking to someone about this is like you know i i said like talking about the movies and stuff and it's like you know i i tend to
to want you know i like certain type of movies and even after knowing that okay maybe you shouldn't watch this it's rated r and there's whatever it is you still kind of be like man but it looks cool you know i just want to watch it like it's not that big a deal i'm not you know i can those things aren't gonna influence me or you know i'm an adult i can take it in i'm i'm strong and whatever it is you know and and but you you're making excuses kind of because if i know i shouldn't be watching it i shouldn't be watching it right you know here's the thing in scripture and this is where it gets we're getting trouble because it's so vague but like peter in in first peter god says be holy because i am holy holy means be separated we're to be separate from the rest of the culture so let's say everybody loves this show and everybody loves to say that word everybody likes
to do this activity blah blah whatever it is as a christ follower i'm separating myself from all of that i'm giving my body and my mind and my words and my actions and everything so should i watch the least rated television show i don't i don't watch much because there's there's not much that goes to my filter that says yeah that's pretty much a god but it'd be the opposite of what society wants to see right if it's the very least rated television show we should be the late so you're separating yourself 24 7 but you just have to be careful you can't be so legalistic that you're angry and accusing everybody and yelling everybody because they're not meeting your standards because you got to make sure that they're either your standards or the god's standards can you can give me scripture verse specifically then i can then i'll go i'll bow on my knees and i'll say
god is my lord and i will follow what he says and that's where it goes back to i mean you got to be constantly just praying about it then the holy spirit because like ultimately you know if you're looking for black and white you know can i sit in a van and and cuss with my brother right i'm pretty sure jesus didn't talk about that you know yeah and uh we can we can look again but right or ask matt what bible he's reading but i think matt is angry ben from what i could tell it's not you know matt why don't you just ignore him why ignore him because it brings up the exact thing that i was concerned about and it's it's it's a it's it's a bit of a an assumptive judgmental approach as if as if god does not tolerate the questions and if there there is there's one bible and one way to to look at it as if your prayer filter is stronger or than mine and and that i i'm not i'm actually thinking
like we're actually saying the same thing probably like i'm talking more specifically on like like because all the verses that keep popping up here on the chat are you know don't um you know keep the appearance of evil is is bad you know abstain from um evil things coming out of your mouth right but that's that's you still have to interpret that implicitly that's saying that what you're doing is evil like of course evil things the question is is is you know is the thing that we're talking about evil or not and that's that what i'm trying to make sure and that this is kind of the whole point of the original discussion was that is that the things that we label as evil are is that us as christians labeling as evil anything evil right exactly you know like i mean how many times you you'll see someone who's probably like staunchly doing the lord's work you know but because it kind of
makes you look bad because you're not doing the lord's work that guy's somehow evil and ridiculous or like you said is it one or two steps removed from the actual quote-unquote evil action yeah you shouldn't be sleeping together before marriage shouldn't live together well you should look at each other you shouldn't jump in the same state yeah you shouldn't coexist you shouldn't jump in the same river together i mean like like none of those things are the actual implicit evil there it's the fact that all those things lead to sleeping together and look and look at the look the catholic church tried to hedge that exact thing with that exact same assumption by not allowing their priest to get married and look what happened you know what i'm saying look exactly what that didn't work out so well and a lot of people that didn't mean some people would say the mountain dew that you
drink has a stimulant in it and it's caffeine and that's evil because it's a stimulant and therefore you know it all depends on who defines it and and if i don't like someone i can make them look evil well you look at a lot of christian colleges um and and not like saying seminary but just a christian college and um you know there's different spectrums between among colleges of uh you know a lot of them are very very strict and which which sounds like that makes sense you know it's like so they're going to be uh you know obviously no alcohol um they usually don't let you watch even pg-13 or above movies um they won't let you actually go to the theater you can't definitely can't go dancing or to a bar uh you know a lot of these things and a lot of those things kind of like make sense but then on the other hand i'm thinking like i'm more from the other end where
it's like you know i was a dude long you know long before i was a christian and so it's like now i can understand there's a separation between hey maybe if i'm trying to be a better christian i shouldn't be going to the bar but inherently me going to the bar and having a beer has nothing to do with whether i'm a good christian or not right yeah maybe maybe that thing would be at the bar with a singer doesn't that where jesus went right right or that's the thing is that you know or if you own the bar is that different different uh story but but yeah you know and and again that's another perfect example is like going to a bar having a drink has nothing to do with keeping yourself from evil other than unless you're saying well i want to keep myself out of situations that are risky and i can and i can agree but if if you're able to handle that or like they'll even go and say uh some call christian
colleges um will say men can't wear earrings what the heck does that have to do with anything and i can't see it but i mean they're gonna say you just need to don't worry about it don't do it you know like like and and uh it's our rules don't come you know kind of thing and it's like okay fine i don't get why that has anything to do with you know yeah i think being a christian or not but i think that's where the concern of purity of other people you know trying to trying to impress the lord's the lord's their version of the lord's will on you and i mean a lot of that's done in good faith like you said you know a lot of that's done for but but look at the guy that does the uh uh the xxx porn church guy the guy that goes to all the the dirty conventions or whatever you know everybody else in the free world would say you have no business in that building you have no business you don't have
any talking to those guys explain what that is well it's it's a um it's a program the guy i don't know the guy's name it's triplex.com isn't it no no no no triplex church.com church church but it's a we we talked about this during the every young man's battle you know if you have a problem with that type of temptation it's it's a program you can download on your computer and you put in like two email addresses you know of of people that you most certainly would not want to know you were looking at something inappropriate like your grandmother and your pastor or your grandma and the girl you have a crush on at high school also very awkward you know if you really want to commit that's what you put down you know but but anyway like this dude uh you know he goes around to to like the like he's friends with with these people you know and uh he goes to the adult
entertainment industry uh uh conventions and stuff and and talks with them and the fact that he's even there i look at it and go you know you've you've devoted yourself to christ to have the ability to say i'm going in and i'm coming out the same way i went in you know that i have a lot of respect for that and it shows a lot of the power of christ to me you know because that's a that's a big temptation that's a big temptation for almost every dude i ever met in my life you know and so you know but but the same people who would say you know you can't even you can't even go dancing dancing you kidding me you know that's the that's where you you know they went dancing in the bible yeah devil's playground you know and the same the same thing would look would take that guy out of that convention and and he would never get a chance to witness to anybody there you know would take the
exact same guy out now there's there's a lot of leeway there you know because you can't have everybody and their grandma presenting jesus inside that convention and then falling left and right you know yeah but but on the other hand i mean you really have to watch on how you impress what you perceive to be the lord's will on other people you know that's actually that's why they have prayer is for you and god time yeah exactly and and that's what like you were saying ben is like it shouldn't matter what question you're bringing to the table you know what i mean like like you're no worse or less strong or whatever the case is by the questions you're bringing and saying should i do this you know does this hurt my ministry by asking the question right you should be asking the question well and god's not afraid of the question yeah exactly that's what distinguishes christianity from
all the other world religions yeah you know muslim faith you don't ask questions you just you just accept you know mormons mormons and muslims are actually almost identical it's scary they just change a few names it's like the same thing you don't i mean really i've uh you don't ask questions um you just accept you know and in the faith it's like encourage ask ask why questions make you stronger man you know yeah that's actually one of the big things that we got out of uh or that i got when we did the the truth project stuff in our small groups was um you know there were there were some things that they were talking about that they were you know interesting in general but the big thing that i took from it as a whole was the thought um that i mean you should be asking questions like god has given you a reference and he wants you to come to him with your questions
just like he wants you to come with him uh come to him for your wants and for the for the needs you know he just you know one of the one of the hardest things i have in prayer is asking for stuff and and and jesus express they expressly said ask for something don't just you know because i used to just go you know if it be in your will you know like your will be done and that's it but i mean he he said to ask ask and it shall be done not you know like sit back and and wait for me to dump stuff on you i you know yeah we're you're an active participant in this so but you know what's one of the things that i really got got out of that thing was um feeling free to ask you know making sure you're asking it's not wrong to say to say oh i think there's a contradiction here i better not say anything because it will shake my faith well god didn't if i believe in a god i should believe that he's given
me a consistent bible i need to figure out why i think there's a contradiction here and and try to resolve it exactly so yeah well it kind of um there's a little dilemma moral dilemma for for me uh you know i own a dj business and and uh usually just do weddings and stuff so it doesn't really come up but once in a while i'll get booked for like a teen dance sort of thing and and that brings up a really awkward type of thing because you know the the new popular music they want to hear um no i mean all all the music's like edited version so i mean there's not going to be a cuss word coming out now you still know they're there i mean but like you know uh but but the even the clean i mean it's so suggestive and it's just so far you know and so it's like okay do i not play and and you and also you know that like the the no dancing part of it with like the christian
colleges i can see it to the extent though it's like how do people how do people dance these days in the clubs you know they're not just doing a thumbs up brady bunch dance you know they're they're doing it hey jimmy yeah you know they're doing a a real together dance you know so uh two and one dance so yeah yeah so anyways you know i got like teenagers shouldn't be doing this and and i'm thinking that and i'm thinking like you know i don't really and i'll still i'll still draw a line on some lines are really just inappropriate where it's like now i'm not gonna play that but but most the you know most songs that are popular they're on the radio you know so it's like am i really gonna filter out like they hired me to do this if i can't do that then i i probably shouldn't take the take the job then right i can't take the money if i can't deliver the product yeah exactly
so i can't be telling them no when it's like hey i paid you money i i said yes you know type of thing so it's really it's really kind of awkward thing um and so you know i do draw a certain line and then i don't know you know it it's it's really tough kind of for me because um i don't feel like it really puts me other than choosing what to play or not to play i don't really feel like it puts me in an awkward position um but i'm seeing i don't know all of it it just yeah yeah and it's not like it's not like you know things are really getting out of hand but but it's just i feel like you know i would rather these kids not listen to this right yet i'm providing it like i feel kind of you will no longer have a dj business if you try to impress your your morality on everything yeah yeah i really have a deep cover dj old folks homes yeah yeah i really have a deep conversation right
in the middle of their dance you know i do know you know a handful of djs that have i mean not not they don't have a wide selection of songs they say no to but there are some they're just like oh yeah yeah i mean there's definitely gonna be songs that that you're not gonna get it yeah oh yeah i mean but but you know there's but but even the majority of this stuff i mean almost everything like like anything they want is probably it's probably fairly dirty it's always been that way i mean in the 80s yeah i couldn't listen to most of your music because i was listening to the words going dude you know what they're talking about and they're like you know and now like all my friends are like 20 years later starting to listen to their 80s music going i didn't know i said that i'm like yeah you were just jamming out to it kind of thing and yeah of course i said that what do you
think they were talking about when they you know yeah right i mean what about hip to be square by hugh lewis in the news oh i'm sure there's a secret meaning there no it's just playing backwards it's just hip to be square no this is actually funny though this is totally unrelated but i heard lyrics to a song today on the radio and i wrote it down because it's just incredible um it's a song by timberland and and justin timberlake okay and and the line goes take my order because your body like a carryout i'm pretty sure if i referred to my wife as a fast food carryout sort of deal that would not go well well when you like a carryout you like a carryout you look like a greasy french drive through fast food i mean where do you get this analogy and and it's you know it's a catchy like tune but i mean your body's like a carryout i don't know what that means i don't think my wife
i don't know what it means but i don't think it i don't think it's uplifting yeah yeah i i don't think our wives would appreciate it you're just like a fast food mcdonald's like wait well you better explain to be fair that may not be the quality woman he's going for well what kind of carryout do you get that's quality kfc double decker that's what i'm saying i think he's going for a lower quality woman oh i got you and therefore you can refer to them as carryout and they'd be pretty much a drive-through uh i got you yeah i thought i thought you meant there should be a higher quality he's going for a carryout like no i believe he's referring to the type of you know applebee's has carryout and then we're out we're an hour 23 minutes in and we're finally back to food dang yeah i missed the fast that's you that's you that did that i did it totally i think or you did
it i i fully participated that's that's terrible this is something else that's interesting um i guess youtube is is uh celebrating here like this week or something their fifth uh anniversary like five years they've been going whatever right so there's that you can yeah i know it seems like her but you um you know you can find anything on youtube i mean you a lot of people use it these days for like uh tutorial stuff or like you know how to do anything i mean like you can you can look up and and and it'll give you like a tutorial right um i found tons of stuff on that of things of um but i heard about i heard about the notes over here that just might not be appropriate yeah he's passing them okay i'm sorry go ahead anyways uh no i heard about these videos i had no ideas these existed but these are actually like really big uh they're called haul videos
h-a-u-l okay it's it's when uh typically they're they're women making these videos that they go on a shopping spree and uh and then they bring it home they they quote unquote haul the stuff home and then make a video of showing what they purchased not like a dress-up thing but they're just showing the camera and i purchased this and here's how much it was and and these are really popular like there's if you do a search because i heard this on the radio today if you do a search for haul videos there's over a hundred thousand haul videos who cares of girls yeah i know and there's one they were talking about that this and i don't know what makes a better haul video than others there's one woman uh uh who who has over three hundred thousand hits views to her video these are all shopaholics yeah like they shop at lane bright they just don't watch the ads yeah you can
shop there don't watch it but i'm like i mean first of all why you know and second of all why is there so and i guess the the the reason behind it the women are saying well it's cool because you get to see kind of see it maybe on i'm not sure if they try it on or i don't know what the deal is but like you see it either on on a somebody or at least holding it up and you can see it and say well i like that and you get the details and i don't know before that sounds ridiculous yeah yeah i don't get it i think we all need to do that this week and yeah well i guess i guess i guess guys do it um this sounds even even more nerdy they'll do it with like uh make their haul videos of like their action figures or like check out the new star wars gear i purchased don't mess with my planet of the apes there you go yeah they're gone i don't understand why you would want to watch why
300 000 different viewers want to watch somebody show you what they purchased i mean there's a lot of waste of time out there i guess we're gonna start video in our grocery store yeah yeah like check it out he's uh you got these whole peanut butter pasta noodles and uh half a gallon of milk half gallon do you really buy milk by half gallon no or was it half empty when you bought it you get to two percent or the whole okay i i was raised on two percent cheryl was raised on skim so we got married we compromised went to one percent skim is just like they're tasting water at some point i just said i don't care whatever so i just all do all you gotta yeah you gotta give in on those things you know when you're married you say yeah you buy the milk wait a minute nobody else buys it i buy a half gallon of milk you don't buy the full gallon no i don't drink much milk i won't drink it
i won't get it i'm the only guy that drinks milk and everyone else you eat a lot of cereal yeah every so often not once a day or at least twice a day definitely not twice a day i know not once a day maybe once or twice a week well no wonder you don't go through as much milk i eat cereal twice a day like two different meals two years ago two different meals you gave up cereal i just don't eat it i mean i'm like i'm like giving it up for i mean it's just i just don't eat it it's just all these extra carbs this is like you have not spoken like a true old man i need to lose like 50 carbs i know that's it because i when i when i looked in the mirror one day i said man you are fat and you found cereal was the problem yeah he's pounded big mac and then i lost 70 pounds today actually started today actually uh it's it's like serious today so now i really am looking
at carbs and don't you have a bet going or something yeah i do that's why i thought i'm gonna i'm gonna be paying that if i don't get serious well how many how much longer do you have to go sometime in june i don't remember you better get that date down kids were asking me that today it's 100 bucks a piece if i don't lose 30 pounds what do you get can i get in on this you get nothing well just the extra help but you can't do it either i'll give you i'll give two to one yeah we can bet on the side about this oh yeah that's true well but we'd have to have someone to take the opposite bet yeah and i'm sure that's frowned upon by society and that's right true refer to it wait see if i can find out the date is yeah i'd take the wait how much did you lose 50 30 oh 30 um how much you lost already well it doesn't matter because i gained it back so so
you're even pretty much even wait a minute are you even are you trying to reset the 30 for whatever weight you're at did you add more no that'd be the thing to do gain 20 pounds and then you could lose 10 and you'd hit the original miss 30 number i have a specific figure i have to hit by this date how does gaining weight help you lose weight because if you say i just have kind of math you did i say that wrong no yeah you did no no no you said you said gain 10 pounds and then it'll look like you lost no no he says gain 20 and then lose that 20 plus 10 as if it's easier to lose the 20 you added than it is to lose a full 30 from where you started yeah probably would be yeah because i lost like 10 then i started eating ice cream not cereal that didn't work obviously not the devil's candy that you made it out to be that's right vanilla ice cream a little uh it does cause
swearing in the band what do you got going on more important in here i'm trying to find that date date oh specific date yeah so you are you really even are you even i'm pretty much even i think go just go by memory are you done arguing with matt cassidy no yeah well yeah for the most part we were having a long discussion big daddy oh well yeah i'm pretty sure i i guess uh throw it and i won't bother typing this but i'm pretty sure we're not going to resolve the differences between the major jewish and christian religion here on the on life in the past i think we will we aren't i i thought that's what we were here for yeah i'm not i'm just i'm not sure of it i i would pray what side is he taking uh no no it's not it's not between no it's it was just discussion uh that's going on the board i'm actually not really involved in it didn't we get a hit from ireland though it's pretty solid
right i like it we had a view from ireland i don't know yeah we looked at that like a couple weeks oh we need those scott we need a scottish band to play for us that uh maybe a little storm yeah ail storm look it up pirate heavy metal now now though to be fair we only watched the first like 30 seconds of the video so i have no idea what's going on it could hardly take a tanker yeah it could and so i'm only words that are inappropriate i don't even know or whatever so we're taking credit for the first 30 is is good all right well i tell you what we will uh i think we'll go ahead and take uh a quick break here on live from the path again you are listening to uh live from the path it is on des moines uh amplified.com you can also feed our archive shows on live from the path.org and we will be right back

he's a dirty cat i know that of him even as a believer i've seen people let them go man you're a freak you might not want to believe you need to tell me we're on the same team in theory i am a doofus it's like that time you claimed that you created the peter butter that rolls up like a deodorant i like that one well you know i've never ever said i hope someone looks at a literal interpretation of my underwear hey no no hold on let's back up to the tomato situation that's terrible welcome back you are live uh from the path on des moines amplify.com thanks for hanging out during the break um sorry about the long break there uh there's i think there's trouble locating the bathroom mike is that right i thought there was one on the first floor and it wasn't oh
i'm not gonna tell you how i resolved the problem but i did it it's all taken care of i tell you there's no wonder there's people fecesing in the flippies because there's no bathroom on that level of the building we're good we're good we might have cleared the room with that one uh that last discussion point i think uh that has that's probably our longest uh discussion topic uh and and the and the longest amount of time we went without talking about food so it's true uh congrats to yeah props to us that's very good that shows a lot of growth uh yeah maturity maturity yeah we're maturing as a ragtag radio operator that's good that's a sign uh well you know we i um i suppose i haven't covered the technicals yet we are all uh pathway church in johnston uh we meet on sundays at 10 a.m at
wallace elementary uh we'd love to to have you out if you're looking for a church obviously more importantly um if you're looking for a relationship with jesus christ we'd love to be uh supportive in that as a church uh or just as folks that are alive from that same path so um you know definitely you can get a hold of us our the website for the church is you guys hear that what nope you guys look like a weird noise going on like static boy i've embarrassed myself if it's only me that hears it i don't hear a thing i can't hear you thank you can you guys hear mike uh no no sorry hey how are you now so that means everything you were saying before when i came back was just yeah it was good though that's embarrassing that'd be pretty hard to relive yeah yeah tricky that was the only goal that will come out of me all day and it's been forgotten in the archive yeah so the
the the website to the church oh sorry uh the church is um the path online uh dot org yep yeah okay and then uh our website is uh live from the path or it has uh archive shows uh that uh commercial you saw there's not much on there really but if you want to watch the show it's out there there's really nothing for you but go ahead and check it out it's beast hot in here isn't it yeah do you want me to open the door no oh okay i won't you let the hoodlums in i don't think there's any i didn't see any hoodlums out there that's because you didn't open the door it keeps them out oh that's a good point they're like a can of mace hoodlums are afraid of closed doors wow i didn't say that the church website didn't have anything on it i said that are the life and the path right yeah okay yeah yeah all right con we pay attention to the discussion uh the path online.org is a wonderful
website filled with much information yeah yeah it will change your life there's a picture of the back of my head on there there's a picture of my uh piano on there oh did you do that again no i i don't think i do either to be honest then you look at that website i i mean i don't think there's any like pictures of me no daniel we're trying to get people in i know that's that's wise someone did good i'm not sure the back of my head is that uh that appealing it's lice free people think they're clean living well it was at the time i guess that's what i'm saying as opposed to now has anybody had adult lice i i i haven't i i have not i believe if you've contracted lice doing uh charitable work and that's that's excellent that's cool if you have done it because of your ill planning in your health care that's not as excellent do lice jump from one head to another
yeah yeah like at school how far can they jump i don't know yeah i don't know three feet you make that up that's the nasty little arm i remember hearing a story in school that the uh one of the teachers had some activity where the students were taking his hat on and trading it all the way around the room and uh it spread oh well that's just terrible yeah yeah i don't know if that teacher learned from their evil ways or why can't you can't wear a hat in a building anyway it was like some thing i don't know a language thing or something you had to say something or i don't know i don't know i wasn't there i didn't get like you weren't there another another story full of holes oh again this is a vague story about hats what are lice what is is it lice collectively is it what if there's only one these is it lice and do they eat hair what what's their
deal uh olsen are you still on can you figure out what is the um uh the singular to a lice i'm sure it's like isn't lice one lice is wait they're dead skin what do they do no that's not true no they lay eggs and everything is that that's what they eat yeah the dander they eat dander what's dead dander is dead skin yeah okay hey i'm asking the question those in the business call it dander don't they sell uh shampoo what's dander rough yeah that's when it gets roughed up and falls on your shoulder i don't know yeah maybe it's hard to deal with dander yeah it's little lice eggs yeah maybe it's not really dandruff yeah it's not is it spelled dander rough i think so is it dander uff oh that's true there's no r yeah but what's the uff wait a minute louse louse is the plural or the singular no louse can't be plural what's so is it a singular you have a if i have
as a louse i have a louse i have a louse i have a louse on my head life how do they procreate can there be just one yeah can you even have just one what maybe who just has one probably starts as one do they jump as a team we're heading for bill all right everybody on three yeah i don't think so i think it's anarchy yeah yeah i don't think they're that organized no okay louse like mouse that's what i said how did i say it didn't i say louse yeah you said i'll tell you what that chant yeah we're the business today i believe i have a louse how do you do that i don't think sophisticated people say they have announced to others that they have a louse i feel a little lousey i don't even know what to say about that i don't either that's all i got anyway i haven't had lice i'm running out of hair though so i mean i don't have much place to stop do they um where do they come
from like there's always a kid that's like asking where bears come from they're just they're just there they're there well what is it what is it not like there's a guy making bears in the backwoods of kentucky it's a potato machine let me ask you this what is the natural habitat of a uh a young vibrant louse yeah do they just like is it just wander about or they start from somewhere eight year old kids yeah but what they travel the country yeah i think so kind of like uh kind of like the backstreet boys fame they start in one area and they squeak the country then you can't get rid of them then they stick around for years jeez no doubt no doubt i love me a gypsy hey have you ever met a modern gypsy no i was just thinking the same thing like where do you like are the real they should be easy to find they're scooting around got the little symbols that's the exact
problem they're always moving about you can't ever you can't ever nail down a gypsy i'd like to hey let's get a hold of a gypsy to talk to on the show what are they gonna say we gotta find how we're gonna get a hold still long enough to get on the sky hey karen said we could skype her in a cornfield this year yeah that's true there was some discussion on my facebook today saying that we need to have some women on the show was that suggested by a woman yes a matter of fact there you go yeah yeah and she volunteered to uh have some thrilling news reports from a cornfield cornfield exactly since she was that sarcasm well that's what she does she uh she does you know that's what she does sarcasm or what no pioneer and she does that's well received cornfields she does do sarcasm okay good almost all birds carry lice so you can get it from a bird
well is that from olsen no so how many people like take birds and rub them in their hair i mean yeah like do they travel up arm hair like do they need a lot of hair or just a little bit of hair to live can they get your toe hair that'd be yeah that's terrible hey man that's where you get a louse maybe that's where the social segregation shows up like the one but then how would it get to your toe hair to your head hair they'd probably i mean that's that's not talking about it yeah i don't want to know comfortable right now making the journey i'd assume they'd be on the path well unless you're a swimmer and then i guess some of those words i can't use right now dude it's gonna be tough to to skype somebody in from the cornfield past you know at 11 o'clock at night i would agree with that's true why well because the rattoons don't have to be so literal what do you mean
about the chats being just literal tonight and and yeah they're upset with you know i don't understand what the problem is yeah it's gonna be pretty beat up who cares you can't do it logistically well no i mean it can't be done it doesn't mean we were going to do it you have any sprint phones you can hook it into your thing and and we can we can plug a light in yeah i mean put better ways to do this this is the modern era what do you think they do we can even go to the moon i mean car headlights if anything it's sudan i mean they do it in the third world countries all the time okay see we're looking at me i'm not i am not the representative here's the problem that's exactly it is since you can't see the chat we assume that you're in league with the chat and everything that comes out of the chat's mouth you've supported no me we were at odds for
most of the night no now we're at odds with you collectively you and the chat our circle's getting smaller okay try to rectify yourself i don't know the only thing that keeps popping in my head are lights literally no i can't get light they said uh they're up there so this is cat lice don't uh don't doesn't transfer easily cat lice who's making this up no that's that i mean mike that's i think that's your wife yeah she knows she wouldn't know but like like she tried to give me cat lice once and it just wouldn't take there's a specific brain of cat lice that is like they're not they're more monogamous apparently they're good there's different of lice i mean i don't know maybe she's saying that if cats do have lice it does not transfer easily to humans because they can't it is not a zoonotic type because they're stuck in there okay so he
said he said zoonotic and no one looks that's a big word i don't even know what that means zoonotic means it cannot be zoonotic diseases are ones that can be transferred from humans to animals or animals to humans right woman is that right i think that's right i had a good question about a zoonotic disease having to do with a horse that's ridiculous that's a ridiculous word i don't even like it yeah i don't think how'd you find a way to bring that up that offends me yeah how'd you you were to get a context where you could bring that word yeah i use it a lot that that that word just brings up a whole lot of images i think are evil of zoonotic type images i bet bible bible talks clearly about bestiology now listen just because your ignorance does not know the word zoonotic doesn't mean it a bad word it's bad to me your ignorance is evil
you're bringing down your brothers can you go find that in the bible where it says uh lice transferring from cats jesus was clear on everything hey are you sassy he's gonna beat you up i'm pretty sure you could go underneath his legs and you'd have him all right what else going on anybody got anything else going on any any live happenings we're gonna have uh i think we're gonna have some live music next week yeah we are um we'd hope to have it this week um but we couldn't uh we couldn't get the proper clearances from the the music company so i think we'll have that's not true they sounded very impressive they just couldn't show up they couldn't make it in here um they're in a cornfield yeah but they're expecting skype no doubt um skype thing didn't work so so i think so i think we will we're going to try to have some music on here uh next week just uh and we'll run
some some folks from our church i think we'll be in here next week and then uh the weeks following we'll try to get some some yeah i actually reached out to a couple different churches and i've gotten i've reached out to three separate people this week trying to get them to be on the radio show uh a couple of churches that we i offered to be a musical guest and then uh a member of my family even uh to participate and i facebook messaged them him and then i sent emails out and i've gotten no responses from no response any of the i was hoping you had a good like rejection type of no like they didn't take you they think we're going to try and like yeah like we're we're going to uh no that's what we're going to do them we're going to use their language on you they're free that yes that we're going to like tell them down be like yeah go to our church we
wouldn't do that i said jesus go to your church with the emails i sent the emails i sent said look i've been to your worship service a couple times i thought it was great i thought we could get you on the show have you play a little bit and we could talk about your ministry to the area that you're in you know i thought that was more than supportive and and not like our church is great and yours is terrible that's not what i was saying at all i thought they were excellent i mean our church doesn't have a radio show though it's pretty cool well i just well that's i thought that if someone had emailed us out of nowhere and said that we want your worship band on our radio show i just said look call up the troops we're going in i don't care what time it's on this sounds awesome and and plus i mean it's a chance to uh not only is it just cool to do but it's a chance to talk about your
church and your ministry too well i thought that would be enough to sell it but i've got no response i'm i don't know whether i should be offended i mean it didn't wow when did you send the emails week and a half ago oh that's a long time yeah yeah it's being ignored yeah yeah uh send a follow-up you've been rejected i think i was gonna go there personally yeah in fact i know you got my email yeah i i was gonna go in fact i'm probably gonna do it tomorrow i'm gonna stop by at least one of those churches tomorrow and see what's going on and wonder why they're not talking about emails i'm hoping it just fell through the cracks but i'm all for three are you driving the van there i'm not gonna take the van there's bad stuff happens in that van i'm gonna take the god oldsmobile there you go i'm gonna stay away from that van yeah now that the swearing doesn't pent up and stay
in there and when you open the door it floods out i've heard it i've heard it i've walked by it it was like whispering yeah i always thought the radio was on it's certainly not like whispering well it's just enticing to get in and then yeah yeah then they got you what happened to pants by the way it was oh yeah i don't know i don't know he's just been standing by the whole time that didn't go well last week i don't know i mean it was comedy i watched the replay it was excellent really yeah and then and then the uh little hoot he did at the end was pretty awesome yeah yeah the dan hoot you missed it dude pants did it impression of you it was dead of me yeah he did the dan hoot it was classic that is awesome it was absolutely classic it came out of nowhere yeah oh yeah i couldn't get into florida i was trying and it was like every once in a while
you'd get like three words and then it'd freeze we're not compatible with florida yeah how was your conference by the way we didn't just talk it was good it was good yeah it was uh we've talked about your poor conversation skills daniel that was a leading question for you to explain more about your comforts hold on where you see when i'm here in skype now pants get get off get off the main show it's gonna be seven seconds for you pants yeah yeah you're on board i can't there's no video though are you broadcasting video no oh that's it that's working perfectly looking at a blank blank white screen uh pants how do i get video i don't know i don't know i don't know how to wake up wake up i don't know how to run your stuff well anyway at least we got the voice that's solid yeah yeah that's good hi pants hi pants it is a bit less effective without the video pants what do you
what are you up to right now getting video oh oh there's high tech stuff fair enough you don't have an engineer there we've got our own engineer we've got to fill time while pants yeah true uh conference the conference was was good uh it's called exponential it is a church planting conference i've gone to it probably 20 years it was a different name earlier in the back in the day when i first started going there was like 70 people that would go and now there was like 3 000 so it's it's uh it's really grown uh the whole popularity of of uh church planting is it's pretty cool talked a lot about that in the past i was talking about all the the nuts and bolts and if you do this you know and that your church will grow it was really refreshing to see them say you know how about you try relying on god yeah which is what i've always kind of said under my breath
it's like that's really cool but how about like the holy spirit you know right so so is this beneficial to well obviously you've gone like for a long time every year or whatever do you go every year most yeah i've missed the last couple just just so does it help you with your your current church organization or are you trying to plant more or i mean you know i mean our goal is to to the plant 10 throughout the des moines area okay it'll be the same multiple campuses it'll be same church multiple campuses um and so it's kind of cool because a lot of those guys had the same philosophy so it was it was it was good to be kind of refreshed and and and ever meet guys you don't like there be honest you have to i can't think of anybody i was find it awkward like if i go to a christian based event you know god-centered event you know and then i meet a dude i'm like man i just
really don't like you these are like all church planners i'm supposed to like you but they tend not to be like too many like real arrogant boobs well there's some of those sure can you say that uh yeah it's not offensive that's that's not gonna be any more direct there's nothing offensive about boobs um all right i can't believe all the all the trouble i took for poop with this business you guys give you trouble did we no yeah we said you could say it i got beat up on a chat uh we're gonna turn that chat off next week that's right no one will no one will come on if they can't chat probably no they just want to talk to themselves yeah they want to talk to each other and harass ben and harass us they'll come in every once in a while and say look at those idiots are they still talking about they just go anyways what were you saying what were we doing
wednesday at small group hans where we at with this video i've got my video okay now i'm gonna hang up and call you back and see if that fixes it all right okay pants sounds like he's 85 yeah it's a time warp all right pants here you come buddy answer the phone directly oh sounds good wait oh i saw the video and ben's reflection of in his glasses okay we got him there you are pants uh we can see it that way if you're looking yeah i don't like you guys staring into my eyes it's creepy give us an external monitor yeah yeah turn one of those suckers around that's pretty weird okay pants the pants where are you at where are you located right now uh in my basement okay what part of the country would that be in pants somewhere east of you you're a smart smart man it's somewhere east you give me the business
is that what you're doing over skype milwaukee no no still in iowa oh fair enough all right we've got it narrowed down fair enough all right pants what like are you enjoying the are you enjoying the show so far yes i am okay have you been part of the the the chat that's been apparently dumping on us uh no i've been watching and reading it though have you been tempted to curse i actually i've been missing the food we're next week's recipe week isn't it hey you know what that's kind of like a a guy's hall we talk about food and then you know you can figure out if you want to eat that's right i don't know whatever i like it we can set our own i think whatever pretty much sums that up whatever i mean or whatever we covered that yeah pants what else is going on in your life not that much
pants did you cook uh dinner what did you have uh no actually my brother's in town he cooked dinner now your brother's uh your brother's getting married here pretty soon isn't he yep what what did you have what did your brother make for dinner uh he made barbecue chicken pizza nice it was pretty good is he standing close to you so you have to sleep okay so was it really good yeah you can be honest yeah it was he's marrying a food scientist or something like that a food scientist hey is she around ask her about that lice deal why do you think she knows about light scientists know both you see bill nye you've had rice he covers everything bill nye yeah rice lice is close no it's just not around oh oh can you call her will she accept phone calls from you at midnight i doubt she'll accept phone calls from me
really ever oh oh aren't you officiating their wedding yeah i don't know how much room she had on that it's a rocky start aren't you aren't you djing their wedding yeah we're in a real pickle yeah we're terrible djs no we're awful you try you try to get that to me already yeah i'm booked yeah i know so that's too bad yeah we really could have used the professional hell we're in a real pickle anyway no pants we're fantastic you call her up at midnight you say mike and benner fantastic i just wanted you to know that yeah let's sleep well yeah i would if she didn't have to be in class tomorrow morning oh it doesn't matter there's nothing irritation more than people have like jobs or places to go yeah what's up with that i'm up it's uh late at night i don't see i want to talk well this is america people don't have jobs anymore honestly i don't know if
you've tried unemployment but it ain't that bad this is working well it's taking a lot out of my although i'm seriously looking for any type of work that pays not just any free radio free radio i will pick lice out of your hair hopefully one at a time louse one done pants have you had lice recently uh no i haven't but when i was uh looking and saw that louse i saw apparently lice don't jump oh really how do they get around do they teleport they just walk and somehow get up into your hair do they hold hands wait a minute what is the magical part they walk and then somehow get up into your hair that's why i was worried well they like a hat you share a hat yeah see that cannot be the only how many people are sharing hats like they cannot say headphones well the little kids though i mean they do they do some weird stuff and they you know oh yeah how long can lice how long can a
louse live in a hat and not on a hair well that's what they feed on there's probably got to be plenty food up there put a dead skin i guess inside uh do your ears how much dead skin comes off your ear now can you buy a can you buy a fresh hair smell to convince the louse that there is no dead hair available but it'd be greasy what would be greasy don't don't oh no they do they attract it like greasy hair you know if you don't shower and i think you just gotta see that in there who's that guy used to be on the radio now it's greasy too well you're dirty on the hoe that's a guy used to be on the radio that like an answer for everything for garden stuff is a can of beer and and and to urinate and paul harvey well i was like some guy some garden guy just do that on your hair and i think that lice will stay away beer urination he was always like yeah the coyotes
will stay away if you got one can of beer threw eggs i mean yeah he always threw off a bunch of stuff i was like what then he always like well make sure you got some good urination in there you think he tried that you think he just carried a beer with him all the time and said all right there's a bear let's see how this goes down like every every single animal is like all right we haven't done uh fox spray that around your corner and the rabbits will stay away because you know they think you're there gonna i don't know you claimed it or something i guess i don't know i don't know what the beer did i mean it probably just made the whole situation go easier yeah he just drank it you're like oh i guess i gotta go now you know if you drink enough of these beers ain't nothing gonna hurt you that bear's your best buddy he wants to play foosball you're
taking him the wrong way stop being so sensitive all right quit playing daddy wants to play pants we're gonna we're gonna let you go any uh any parting words for everybody uh if anybody's missing matt what i assume pants is throwing things no he's putting his face really really close to the camera all right all right pants you're done thank you very kindly all right that was cool okay that was way more effective than last week yeah so last week he did the muppet laugh you missed it oh you ever seen him do the muppet laugh no pants has like two things about him that's interesting one is the muppet laugh and one is the frequency that he changes his underpants i'm not gonna say whether it's good or bad but those are the two notable things about pants you can always count on is that muppet laugh is solid i agree all right folks well we are a shade uh after midnight so we're probably going to get
