Segments
- Show open and studio chaos 0:51–2:50
The live open comes from the Pathway Studios in Johnston: a host introduces himself as Ben Foose and another voice introduces himself as Mike, while Dan is already on-site and takes the blame for a broken TV. The hosts preview tonight's lineup: a church that gave offering money back to parishioners, Francis Chan's line that worry and stress reek of arrogance, and a favorite-non-biblical-book question for the table.
- Tonight's topics teaser 2:50–4:35
The hosts tease the night's stories: a church that passed the plate in reverse, handing cash-filled envelopes to congregants, and they promise to test whether the stunt has any biblical foundation. They also tee up a Crazy Love reading by Francis Chan and ask what non-biblical book each person would call their favorite, joking that a non-Jesus answer gets judged with the left eye only.
- Reading banter and the Weekly World News 4:38–5:35
The favorite-book question stalls when one host admits he is not much of a reader. The crew riffs on tabloid magazines, especially the Weekly World News with its bat-boy covers and absurd headlines like flying saucers landing in Idaho. They note that the Men in Black films treat the tabloid as the aliens' actual news source.
- Mike's drive home: a church sign and a highway goat 5:37–10:26
Mike recounts driving back from Atlantic, where he stopped to look at Dan's old church, the First Church of Christ, and teased Dan about designing its brown-and-yellow sign. On the interstate he came across a live white goat sitting in the middle of the road with traffic swerving around it. The hosts debate whether anyone would stop to move a live goat and how exactly one hauls a goat off the highway.
- A husband's car-maintenance guilt trip 10:26–12:35
A host recounts a small-group night where a man said any responsible husband keeps his wife's car in great shape, tires and brakes included. He realizes his own wife is driving on a bald tire with recently replaced brakes, and the crew debates whether husbands owe their wives that level of practical handiness. The exchange includes a running plug joking about a five-CD sermon set from Dan Hudson at danhudson.com.
- The taillight stranger and a crooked headlight 12:35–15:16
The crew trades car-trouble stories: a stranger at a stoplight enthusiastically flagging a dead taillight, and one host's own headlight that an oil-change shop installed crooked months ago and that now shines into other drivers' eyes. He confesses he has been too lazy to take it back, and the others turn the confession into a roast of his handiness and manhood. They close the bit by agreeing they are all in good company as losers.
- Safe-house window stars and DARE signs 15:16–16:44
A workplace conversation about creepy window decorations leads the hosts back to childhood 'safe house' star decals. One host admits that as a kid he thought the stars marked Jewish homes, and another recalls confusing Jews with the French dip sandwich. They conclude that self-declared safe-house signs are easily manipulated since no governing body exists, lumping DARE stickers into the same category.
- Oil changes, wipers, and the podcast plug 16:45–18:14
Car talk continues with oil changes — one host used to run an oil-change place and distrusts the upsell — and the misery of installing windshield wiper blades. Mike's wife predicted he would say the wrong thing on air, and he owes her five dollars for it. The segment closes with the podcast signup plug at lifeinthepath.org.
- Boycotts, part 1: MediaCom, Disney, and The Last Temptation 18:15–26:28
The hosts take up boycotts, starting with one host's two separate boycotts of the cable company MediaCom: once over cheesy advertising, and again after a two-hour hold and a dishonest phone rep during a dispute over the local Fox station KDSM. They cover the Christian boycott of The Last Temptation of Christ, a Jesus Christ Superstar picket, current boycotts of Home Depot and Ford, and one host's father boycotting Starbucks for Caribou and Sears over support for the troops.
- Boycotts, part 2: protest doesn't convert people 26:28–34:16
The group lands on skepticism of group boycotts: nobody can name a protest that ever converted anyone, and picketing a Metallica concert or an NC-17 movie is judged the worst witness tactic imaginable. One host argues the real work is talking to one person about Jesus Christ rather than screaming at car or movie companies, since businesses only sell what people buy. They cite the book of Acts, where the apostle Paul's preaching hurt the idol market without any organized protest, while conceding that even that cultural shift did not last.
- Israel's lazy cycle and the smarmy Kings writers 34:16–39:03
The discussion drifts into the Old Testament: the nation of Israel's cycle of turning to God and away again, which one host attributes to laziness and self-centeredness rather than deliberate rebellion, noting modern believers are just as susceptible. Another host vents about the writers of 1 and 2 Kings, who close nearly every chapter by pointing readers to the annals of the kings instead of telling the story. He retells the 2 Kings sign where a king's shadow runs backward up the stairs, which he calls the coolest test of God ever.
- Gossip, defamation, and the tongue 39:04–43:15
A host confesses his biggest gap as a follower of Christ: mocking foolish behavior in other people instead of looking on them with love. He admits defaming a co-host on the show and landing on his Thursday-morning confessional list in his LTG, and the crew recalls spending fifteen minutes impersonating Francis Chan's soft voice. They close with the catchphrase: get the 'fierce grease' — come to church and pray through the pain.
- Article read: the New Jersey church that gave away the offering 43:15–44:50
A host reads a news article: a non-denominational New Jersey church, whose three congregations meet in hotels and a middle school, gave away its entire weekly offering — $30,000 in cash-filled envelopes of tens, twenties, and fifties. Congregants were told to invest the money or use it charitably, including for recent New Jersey flood recovery, with proceeds meant to help rebuild a homeless shelter. The article notes the ten-year-old church claims more than 2,000 weekend attendees.
- Tithe debate: is giving the offering back propaganda? 44:52–1:02:39
The hosts argue the stunt misrepresents tithing: a tithe is firstfruits given to God for the church's spiritual leadership to direct, not a charitable donation recycled back to the givers, and one host calls it propaganda for Jesus. One compares it to putting money in a child's savings account and congratulating the child for saving. During the debate a host reads Malachi 3:6-10 from his phone — 'will a man rob God' — and shares his own story of tithing into four months of financial strain, concluding that obedience does not guarantee an easy month. A daughter's children's-Bible story about Jesus cleansing the temple and her claim to have seen Jesus as a baby closes the personal thread.
- Does church outreach evangelize, or just comfort the comfortable? 1:02:39–1:09:10
Returning to the story, the hosts doubt church outreach campaigns do real evangelism, calling most of them cheesy, self-serving 'ego massages' for comfortable believers. One argues a church that truly had Christ in its heart would not need constant pampering and would go find more people for Christ. A Colorado megachurch anecdote from the 1990s shows the same giveaway idea has been tried before, and the consensus is that the motive may be pure but the point being taught is wrong.
- Dan's plan: buy Porky's bar for an east-side campus 1:09:10–1:23:59
Dan pitches buying or leasing Porky's, a closed bar on Northeast 14th, as an east-side Saturday-night campus, concert venue, and youth-group spot, partly funded by hot-dog and soda sales. The others roast the idea as an undersized half-million-dollar vanity project when the current congregation is already bursting out of its rented school space. They float alternatives instead: a movie theater, a bowling alley, a skating rink, or the old elementary school the Experience Church already bought near Altoona.
- Does worry and stress reek of arrogance? 1:23:59–1:41:51
The hosts take up Francis Chan's line from Crazy Love that 'worry and stress reek of arrogance.' One host defends it: stress means trying to solve problems yourself instead of handing them to God. Another counters that stress over drifting from God feels like humility, not arrogance, and they role-play counseling a man who feels a million miles from God, landing on radical honesty — tell God directly that you feel far apart. The consensus: worry is bad when it trusts self over God, and the fix is surrender, not more worrying.
- Job, suffering, and Louie Giglio's 'megaphone of hope' 1:41:51–1:49:29
A host argues God's will is only ever clear in hindsight, and the group uses Job as the extreme example: suffering permitted by God that deepened him, with blessing visible only when looking back. One host cites speaker Louie Giglio's phrase 'megaphone of hope' — suffering believers broadcast hope louder than comfortable ones — paired with Hebrews' 'anchor of hope.' The others mock the phrase as cheesy and joke about buying Troy a literal megaphone for Christmas.
- Porky's part 2: stewardship, the Enron church, and mom's birthday 1:49:29–1:55:58
The bar-campus debate resumes with critics calling it a serious misallocation of the Lord's money and predicting a congregational mutiny, while Dan insists a building committee should not shut down what God might want. The roast escalates to the 'Enron church' — crystal cathedrals, chandeliers, and million-dollar schemes run by 'ego-massaging boys.' A host shares that his deceased mother's birthday reminder still fires on his phone, and he cannot bring himself to delete her number.
- Sign-off: helicopters, megaphones, and next week 1:55:58–1:59:39
The show signs off with helicopter and megaphone-of-hope jokes, a 'Rock and Repent' east-side campus, and Mike raising money for a crystal cathedral. The hosts give the station ID and the livefromthepath.org plug, promising they may or may not be back next week.

Full transcript
From the Pathway Studios in Johnston proper, you are Live from the Path. And you're listening to Live from the Path. My name is Ben Foose, and I'm here to create a world of wonderment and amazement for your Monday night Jesus talk. I'm amazed that I'm successful already. I tell you what, we're in some good shape tonight. I'm breaking stuff, though. Yeah, seriously, Dan. That was terrible. Dan came in and already took a whack at the TV. The TV's on the outs already. We already got trouble. I was in the office doing attendance. It used to be a pretty quick job, but anymore, it takes a while. We've got all these different classes. That sounds like a good problem to have.
It's a great problem. We are out of space everywhere. Everywhere. That's good. Oh, it's good. I sound real echoey. I must be picking up on that. Yeah, you do. Try not to point out our technical difficulties to everybody. Get real. Hey. All right. I'm just getting a hump. Here's the other following things we've got problems with. Hey, Mike. Mike's here.
Hey, I broke the TV, Mike. Sorry about that. Are you kidding me? Oh, I walked by. We already got troubles. I probably didn't plug it in the right hole. It's pretty simple. All right. I'm in a cage. I couldn't figure it out. All right. Well, you're listening to Live from the Path. My name's Ben Foose. Thanks for being with us. I'm Mike. Here is Balmy Monday.
We've got all kinds of problems in here. All right. Did you not turn the air on, Daniel? It's steaming in here is what it is. Moments ago. All right. So, anyway, here's what we've got coming up for tonight. So, a church gives money to the parishioners. It passes the plate, and instead of saying, put stuff in, they just said, take some stuff out. Yeah? We're going to talk about that. See what our thoughts are on it. I'm in. Wait. I'm never, never, never near. I'm against.
I like this idea. Yeah? All right. That money goes to Jesus. Yeah, but he said he's giving it back. You're tithing in response to the Lord's greatness. Oh, hold on. Hold on. Everybody's saying, hey. I'll bet there's a catch. You need some help. Here it is. There's not a catch, but we're going to talk about the reason they gave for it, and we're going to see if you find that there's biblical foundation, and if you think ultimately… The church is not a charity. Hey, wait for the story.
It's not. It's not a money shop, at least. If you're looking at the church as the DAV, you have the wrong perception of your Lord Jesus Christ. Okay. We'll read the story. We'll see what you get out of it. Okay? I'm excited. Okay. All right. Also, I'm interested to know, so we've been reading, in our church, we're going through the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan. So I got a couple things from there. The first one is, we're going to talk about a specific thing that just stuck out for me in the reading this week, and it has to do with…
Francis Chan's phrase was, worry and stress reek of arrogance. And I don't know, that one kind of beat me up just a hair. And I don't know, I kind of want to talk through that and see where we're at. Also, I'm interested to know, what non-biblical book would you consider to be your favorite? And it can be Jesus-oriented or otherwise, and why do you like it? I want you to think on that. But if you answer with a non-Jesus book, I will judge you, but with my left eye only. I will be condemning you with my left eye and praying for you softly with my right. Yeah. Well, Mike. I'm not much of a reader. Mike doesn't read. I read until it gets to mine. I got it. I got it. Yeah, it keeps all right here to go.
Does that include the Inquirer? Michael remembers. That's not a book. That is a lady's magazine. I used to read the Weekly World News. The one that's always got the bat kid on it and the pregnant dudes and all that stuff. Yep. The news of the weird. Yeah. Remember that magazine used to have like Flying Saucers Land in Idaho. Yeah. Steel guys pop soda cans. Farmer kills 20-pound grasshopper. Yeah. Exactly. He's holding it up by the antennas.
Yeah. Nice. What was it called? The Weekly World News. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. In Men in Black, that's what they refer to. Like that kind of a magazine to get all their alien news. Yeah, to find all the stuff. Yeah, yeah. To find out what's happening. Yeah. Great. Single-dinger chair is very uncomfortable. Yeah, I don't know why. I mean, seriously. We've bought decent chairs and I'm sitting on a cardboard box.
Mike, so you were gone last week. How was the week away? I've had a whirlwind of a time, fellas. I'll be honest with you. So I'm driving back from Atlantic. I stopped by Dan's old church while I was up there. That's a great community. I'm going to tell you what happened. It really is. That's a nice airport. So this is awesome, right? So I called Dan. I'm in Atlantic, which is where Dan's first church was. Well, it wasn't your first church, right? It was the second one. It was a well-established church.
You were there for a while. Yeah, 11 years. So it was up and running. So I said, Dan, I texted him. I was like, you know, where's your old church at? I want to go have a look at it. And he gives me the address. And it's like, it's within sight of me. You can see down the hill to it, right? I can see it. So I pull in the parking lot to go check it out. And I'm looking around. I'm like, well, you know, it's not bad. And then I see the sign. I mean, it looks like a Seventh-day Adventist sign. I texted back and I said, Dan, our sign is way better than their sign.
Oh, man. Come to find out. You can see halfway from space. You can. Come to find out that Dan picked the sign and designed the logo. Well, I did not personally design the logo, but I commissioned it. It was one of those things where we didn't, you know, it's different when you're starting a church and you're like, well, here's what we're going to do, blah, blah, blah. And you can create a logo. When you have an existing church that's been around for 20 years or so, I'm working with a guy who's a legitimate artist. He's actually designed, like, Olympic coins. I mean, he actually did the book covers for my three books. But, and he, so he's showing me different logo ideas. Yeah. And it's the best.
I had, like, a little F before. It was First Church of Christ was the name of the church. You highlighted the F? Before. Oh, yeah. So that was better. That was an upgrade. Anyway. Yeah. I should write a letter and apologize to them for. It's got brown in it. It's like a brown is not a solid look-at-me color. It's got yellow. It's got some pizzazz. Brown and yellow? It certainly drew my attention.
So, anyway, I'm driving back from Atlantic and on the highway, right? And I'm zooming along and putting, putting, putting. And all of a sudden, I see people start swerving out of the way in front of me. I'm like, well, you guys, I'm in a giant truck. I better just move on over. Come to find if there's a white goat in the middle of the road, alive, not hit, just sitting there. How far from Atlantic? Look at itself. Does this happen a lot? 15, 20, 15, 20 miles. Because I know there's a little mini golf course, like about a half a mile from the church building, where they have a whole bunch of goats. Do they? Are they fainting goats? I know there's fainting goats around here.
They're like, they're not the fainting ones. They're like little, little, you know. Right. Petting zoo. No, it was on the interstate. Yeah. Yeah, so this wouldn't be from them. No, no, it was on the 35. I have no idea how he got there. On 80. 80. It was on the 35. 35 goes north and south. Yeah, there's way stations on 80. I don't take 80. So you took the highway all the way over to 35?
34 to 35. Wow. Oh, so it was like far. So it was like 70 miles from. That might be south towards the fainting goat farm. There you go. I don't know. I don't know about that. I think it would have got scared and fainted by then if you got a bunch of cars coming at you. What do you think? Maybe that's why. But it was laying down though, right? Yeah, it was just hanging out. It wasn't passed out or nothing. But was it, you know, coming to? You never know.
No, it was. Or they just keep passing out over and over. No, it was not. No, it was in a regular state. Just hanging out. Let me ask you this. Have you ever been the guy that stopped and. Hold on now. Listen here. I saw the goat. I don't need your interpretation on what the goat looked like when I saw it. It had brown spots. I saw the goat. He looked tired. No, he didn't. He looked regular.
He was definitely tired. He was just hanging out. I was going to ask a legitimate question. Have you ever been the guy that stopped and picked up something or moved it out of the road? Yes. Have you done that? Yes. Because I mean, I figure on an average day, you'll see 200 people go around something in there and then nobody stops to do it. But Gabriel, you've done it? A lot of people don't realize that if you run over, like a tire blows out. Like, you hit one of those tires, like off of a big truck, your tire is gone. Like, it can shred. And when people are doing 70 miles an hour, that's ridiculous. And I do remember, I think it was going down 35 towards Grand River and there was just
chunk O tire and then chunk O tire. There was no way that if two cars were side by side, they weren't going to miss it. So I hurried up, stopped. I knew I had, I don't know, a minute and I just hurried up and like took both pieces and just threw him in. Would you have moved the goat? Yes. Would you move a live goat off the highway? Definitely. With what? No leash or no rope? What, do you grab him by the hair and haul him out like a 10-year-old boy? Yeah, you wrangle him. That's why they're called wranglers. Put him over your shoulder and walk. This is what's best for you, friend.
Gabe. Don't do it, Gabe. I'm so tired. He likes me. Trying to find that chicken who crossed in front of me. Thank you. That's terrible. Thank you. I'll be here all night. So I'm in a small group this Sunday night, last Sunday night, and some guy's talking about how any responsible husband would make sure his wife's car is in great working shape. You know, tires are in great shape. Brakes are in great shape and all this stuff. And he mentioned like four or five things. You do that, you're gold. And I'm sitting there thinking, my wife has like a really totally bald tire.
I mean, bald. Beyond bald. And the brakes were so bad, we had to replace everything, rotors and everything, just a couple months ago. And everything he said, I'm like, I'm a horrible husband. Now, wait a minute. Was the man a mechanic? No. When was the last time this vehicle was serviced? Now, hold on a minute. Well, I've got new brakes now. We have a whole industry. I have two new tires in my driveway that Chris Slaughter gave us. I was like, I can replace them. You've got to look at the motivations of this man. That's like me saying any good husband would have his electrical system in his house would
be safe for his wife. That's true. There would be no questions asked. Everything. You know why? Because mine is. There's somebody there to do that for you. Yeah. It's your area of expertise. It's not like your family lacks spiritual leadership, I hope. You know what I'm saying? I'm always around with something everybody needs is this nice five CD set of sermons from Dan Hudson. That's danhudson.com. What? Professional cover design.
This gentleman has come up with a level of handiness. Yes. I was thinking as he was speaking. I was going, oh. Right. Like he's saying that there is a level of handiness. That you should have for your wife. There is something about taking care of your wife practically. Breaks are kind of big though. I mean. Yeah. There's something very much about. So breaks need to go on our list of general handiness man manual. You don't necessarily have to change them yourself. Just make sure someone does. You do to make sure that.
Yeah. I can't do it. That it does get done. Because that would be more dangerous if I were to put the brakes on. But she's safe now. She's safe now. No. Except she still has a bolt tire. A bolt tire. Yeah. I don't know. You've got trouble still. I don't know how you sleep. I don't know. I know. I shouldn't.
I don't know about this man. I just don't think about it. She'll tell me. My tire is bolt. Oh that's awful. Well see. A few weeks later I'm like. Oh. I would say if you didn't know about it. I mean that's one thing. But you know. It just kind of goes. Yeah. Yeah. It's really bad. Shame on you.
Well one bolt tire is really not that bad. Hey. JC just changed his wife's headlight. That reminds me of a story. I was driving out. I was driving to the west side this week. And there was a stop at the stoplight. And some guy goes. Hey man. Like oh man. This is going to be trouble. Yes sir. And he goes. You got a tail line out. Yeah. That's not all I got out.
Man I thought. I like the enthusiasm of that guy. I mean he was jazzed about it. Because you know. Nobody stops and tells you that stuff. It's the same. Same reason people don't stop and pick stuff up out of the road. But this guy saw it. I had a window down. So he had a prime opportunity. So you got a tail line out. I've told people that stuff before. I was pretty jazzed about it. Especially around here. Because the police officers will tell you as well. With a little piece of paper.
Actually I got pulled over leaving here out of the prayer room at 3 in the morning with a tail light out. Cheryl's gotten pulled over with a headlight out before. I just leave my brights on. I do have one headlight out. I'll do that. It's just brights on. You've had that problem for like 3 years man. Yeah brights are on buddy. Okay so last time I went. Okay I've never even changed my oil. That's all. I mean I get it done. So last time I got my oil changed. I told him. Hey dude I got a headlight out too. And you know that way I don't have to.
My hands won't fit in between the battery and all this stuff. And I can't do these. I take it out. So they gave me a new headlight. And they didn't put in right. So it's just kind of flopping around. So like one headlight works correctly. And the other one's like off in some direction. And sometimes I can see it shining right in people's eyes. At night I can't see very well. Because I'm like you know only one of them is working correctly. How long did you wait to take this back and say. It's been a few months. It's time to have the oil changed again. Wait but you haven't taken it back. Why don't you take it right back and say.
It takes time. I don't have time to sit there and watch them. That's why I had them do it in the first place. And that's why. You told it was because of your fat fingers. Well I know. That's what I mean. That's why I had them do it. So why would I. You know Dan. I haven't had time to go back again. Hold on. Dan you're painting a fairly unflattering picture of yourself. I am. As a man with fat fingers who is too lazy to do it himself. But then too lazy to rebuke a man who's done it incorrectly for money.
I know it. I will. But now it's time for another oil change. I'll go in there and say. Oh by the way. You didn't put that light in. They'll say. Yeah we did. And he's going to say from last time. Exactly. They'll say we did put it in right. It was good when it left. I expect a free oil change. And then they'll laugh at you. They'll laugh at me anyway. We'll say.
They'll say no. And they'll think. Well he'll be too lazy to argue with us. I want a free oil change. I'm going to be burned out. We don't do that sir. That was worth a shot. Okay fellas. Double the charge. I'm in. Dan Hudson has arrived. This really is the worst. I'm a loser. Should I leave? This is bad. I broke the TV.
I'm killing my wife. No Dan. Dan. As a loser. This is the best place for you. You're safe here. We're going to see. You're with good company. That reminded me. I got in a conversation with somebody this week at work. About how creepy the stuff that people put in their windows is. Like do you remember. Which window? When we were little front window. And people used to put the stars in the front of your window. Oh yeah.
As a safe house. Right. And there's no way that if you were like a pedophile or something. You wouldn't put a big star in your window. When I was a kid I thought they were Jews. You're supposed to be like. I thought they were Jews. Is that the right star? I mean I didn't know. Oh no. Somebody told me that. I guess I should stop going by their house and saying. Hey Jew. Well no. I mean I just thought. Well that's kind of.
They're really proud of themselves. That's kind of neat. You know actually for the longest time I thought. I thought the Jews had made a special sauce for the sandwich. The Jews. Finally it turns out it's a French sandwich. A French dip. And that's not the case at all. You didn't think that. I did too. No that's terrible. That's a good idea. Anyway. I'm just saying like. I think those signs are easily manipulated by somebody. Well yeah.
They make that sign. There's not a governing body of safe houses. Dare. Right. I would think dare would be pretty legitimate. Drug free you're obviously saying. Right. I don't know. I've known a pretty rotten people that are drug free. That's what I'm saying. Stay off the drugs doesn't mean that you're worth anything. There's more than four. Anyway. Mike. You need to change your wife's oil. It needs to be changed for a week.
I don't even know where to change it. Where am I supposed to change it? You owe your wife five bucks because she said you would say that. Damn. I go down here down the road to Super League. No Dan I don't pay people. I'm going to have to do it in the office. Gotcha. I like to waste my money in other ways. Yeah. You can do it easily half price by yourself. Pay like 35 bucks or something. You know I used to run an oil change place and I would be very hesitant to take it to places. And they tell you all the stuff you need and you're like no. Like I know how they operate and I don't know. It's hard to change it over.
You sure you don't need wipers? I'm pretty sure I just put some on. Okay. I put my own wipers on. See that's the one thing I'd pay someone to do. I hate them. I hate putting on wipers. That little adapter is frustrating. Hard to deal with. Oh yeah. I don't know how to do it. I think I spent half an hour doing it one time and kind of just rigged it up with a bobby pin. I figured out you just. That thing. The plastic Jigamabob. Yeah.
You break that off. You don't even need that. Are the old ones? No. No. You don't need it. A little duct tape. Yep. A little spitting shot. Because the new ones come with it. Yeah. The new ones. Clicks right in. Quick job. Yeah. So next time just yank on that thing real hard.
About a three minute job. All right. Sounds good. You're listening to Life in the Path. You can sign up for the podcast on lifeinthepath.org. I wish I'd have gotten here at the start. I could have curved this thing. No. I'm sorry. Can we restart? It tanked. I am a working man. All right. Hey. You guys ever boycotted anything? Like have you ever been willing to participate in a boycott?
Oh yeah. It does seem like as a group of Christians. Christians are always trying to boycott stuff. Because the devil's behind a bunch of things. Disney movies. Starbucks. Whatever else is going on. Have you ever felt compelled to join a boycott either Christian or otherwise? Wait a minute. Now are you saying like a group boycott or whether I have personally decided to boycott some business? Yeah. It doesn't matter. Either way. I've boycotted MediaCom. The cable provider.
Why? On two separate occasions in my life. One time. Well hold on. You can't boycott them twice. That means your first boycott failed. It did. I was tempted. It did. It did fail. Actually they rectified the situation so I went back with them. Do you remember they were having the cable provider was having commercials about how fast their internet was and they were having commercials where a guy was on trial for having fast internet and oh yeah I remember those and they were just like super cheese ball and so I wrote there I wrote them and I sent an email out that said look your advertising is just cheesy and terrible.
I can't take it and they sent me back this this this form letter of how they appreciated my input and and so I boycotted them because they weren't listening to me and I thought I can't take these commercials anymore. What does it tell you they have a form letter to respond to people who hate their advertising? Oh they're terrible. Does that mean you have terrible advertising? It's bad. You have like a letter that you can send to all people that complain about it? They probably count that as a success because you are still thinking about them enough to write them a letter. Oh no I when I say I boycott them I cancel my service and then we were done we went directory TV and then I talked to the guy at the job fair or at the Iowa State Fair or something who was running the media con booth and I said what's the deal with your advertising? And he goes oh we changed them we got a new company I'm like yes I don't even like direct TV good I'm going back to media con and then media con was going to lose their
local Fox station they were in dispute. Oh I remember that. And so I called them and the queue was like two hours long and I waited because I had I had to question them for some for some reason. Wow. And I got on the phone and I said man there's been a two hour wait and I said boy I said I bet this is happening a lot huh? And she goes and the lady on the phone goes no why would it happen a lot? I said well with the KDSM thing the Fox thing you guys are probably having a lot of phone calls you know I could see that being a big deal and she goes oh no no it's not really an issue at all. I said yes it is. Why are you lying to me? You know what? Cancel my service. Fuck it.
So I canceled media con again. You showed them. We went back with direct TV. It really irritates me when people do that to me. Act like something's not a big deal and it is. I believe they folded right after that too. And then I had to and then I had to then I explained to my wife why we're changing changing cable providers again because I got I got chased off at the guy on the phone. So I've I'm currently still boycotting media comp. It's been I think that's fair. Four or five years. I think that's fair. I remember I don't remember what year years and years ago when the last temptation of Christ came out big movie and it was big mockery of Jesus. I actually never saw the movie because it was the first big boycott I was aware of in the Christian world.
They're making a big deal out of it. I thought yeah. I mean if it was anything like they were describing it you know he was like homosexual or having sexual relations Jesus was with people whatever. Again I never even saw it. So there was a big thing sign up for the boycott blah blah blah against Universal Studios. And so I signed up for it and Universal Studios movie for ever until I'd heard they were sold and I thought well it's a different order now so I can watch it. I mean I don't even see it though to know whether it should be boycotted or not. Well I don't want to give my money. That's why they made the movie. I don't know Dan you know you can't trust crazy right wing Christians. They boycott anything. A lot of times you're right. That's true. I found out my mom picketed I think because my grandpa and grandma made her the Jesus Christ
superstar. And though I would I do feel like there are a few things in Jesus Christ superstar that are not accurate. But contextually I actually thought there's some redeeming qualities about it. And so I don't know. There's a big boycott that's going on right now against the Home Depot and Ford. Why? Because they're aggressively partnering with the homosexual agenda. Well yeah the Ford one of the Ford CEOs or one of the top guys he's a homosexual. Yeah. So I could see that happening. I saw some places showed some of the advertisements they use like in homosexual publications and it was kind of gross coming from a heterosexual but not come from Ford. Well you watch that one because they still build a good truck. It was like a picture. You looked at the gay thing but you wouldn't watch that last edition of Christ.
Well because if you want to see the ad it was it was a picture. I was getting better. It wasn't if you want to give them money if you want to buy a Ford. Click on the. I didn't go out and buy a Ford. Click on the broad shoulders of this fella. I'll just say it was an interestingly worded text and a gear shift. I know exactly. That was my. I was like and that was their saying you know we're a boycott. We've asked them and to come back. So that stuff's just going on pretty hot and heavy. So wait. So are you participating in that boycott Dan? Well since I haven't bought a new car since 1985 I'm not too worried about the boycott on Ford. What about the Home Depot?
Home Depot. I will. I purposefully go to Menards if I have the opportunity but I haven't like. I don't think I've signed anything and you know. Do you feel like these boycotts are effective? I don't know. I can go back and forth. I argue with myself on it. They worship Jesus now because you boycotted their place. I think group boycotts are wasted. Yeah. I just purposefully if I know they're using my money to do something I will purposefully go somewhere else thinking if you're just kind of like the attitude is like up yours we're going to do it anyway. Why would I give them my money if I don't have to? I think when it comes to I don't believe in I'm not much for group boycotts.
I don't think it does any good. I think it makes it look bad to be honest. I think it's just the same thing as protesting I don't think does much good. I don't think I've ever driven past the protest and got you know what that guy's got an excellent point with that sign. I think I will save the planet. Yeah. Yeah. You know so I'm not much for that there was a big boycott of Disney a while back and I don't know I don't think it does anything it doesn't change anybody. I mean there's places that I don't that I choose not to shop. I don't think it's a very broad I can only think of a few and it's mostly because I just don't like the company like I think they're sleazy or something. Yeah. But yeah I don't know I'm not much for a group boycott. Spangenhauser you ever done a you ever done a boycott been a part of a boycott.
Dude I've been in like the consumer world for a little over two years. Before that my consuming was going to McDonald's and eating food at my high school. But no in all honesty I've never been. That was an odd back story to get to your point. I know well that's just what I'm saying is I've never really had the chance to care enough about something to boycott it. Did you tell a lie in that brief introduction? Because you followed up with in all honesty. Which part of it was. That's a good point. That is a good point. The first part was don't lie. I've been a consumer for years. I'm actually 76 years old. I've been shopping here for 30 years. No.
I just I've never felt passionate enough about something to truly go and boycott it. I think you have the same lazy disease as Dan. Yours just isn't a test of morality. My dad did boycott something. When he found out that Starbucks as a company refused to send coffee over to the soldiers in Iraq. That was one of the things that I'd ever seen. That was the only boycott I'd ever seen was my dad instead of pulling into Starbucks on Sunday morning. He was like we're going to Caribou. I'm like okay. Why? And then he told me the story and he was like well we're not going to Starbucks here anymore because of this. I'm like okay. I've perfectly.
I enjoy Starbucks but I've purposely gone to Sears because I've heard they were really supportive of troops. Like I've done some Christmas shopping there. I don't I'm not a big Sears guy and well you work at Sears aren't you still? I love Sears. Are you getting out your wallet? But I'm saying after I heard some of the stuff they were doing for troops I kind of thought well I'm going to that's kind of cool. So I go there on purpose. What's that say? Sears? I've paid for your salary. Holdings. Oh yeah. I don't know. That does sound good.
Gabriel you boycott anybody? I don't think so. Nope. I've never been one for. You're pretty elastic on what you find to be right and wrong. Just kind of do whatever you want eh? Well I just figured out. Surfboard of life eh? Well see okay. Like I've always. There's always oh you should boycott this movie. You should boycott that movie. And I always just kind of figure you know what I'll just make my own decision on how it was if I decide to watch it. If I don't watch it. That's true.
Big deal. You know Gabe's got a point there. What do you got? Your group of yahoos putting signs together trying to. Like who are you going to listen to them? What do they know? You don't know anything about them. I think those people are surrounded by people that are easily manipulated. That's what drives it. I think that's what drives it. It's trying to sell it to everybody else that's the issue right? Like let's say I happen to catch a preview of a movie that I don't. They don't look good. And I say. You know I go home and I say wife I don't know about this. I don't you know.
I don't think we'll go see this one. Well you know we'll talk about it. I don't think so. So we're both out right? So I told my wife. And that's it. You know it's not like I took out a half a page ad in the register. Or called it the New York Post and exclaimed my outrage. I'm like well it just ain't for me. You know I guess if it's for other people then it's for other people. But it's certainly not for me. Well I mean speaking of. You're trying to make a difference in an industry. That you know I would think that an industry like the waterworks. You know where we get our drinking water. Where we take care of our garbage.
Those would be sorts of industries that I would be more interested in. Okay maybe I do need to flex my financial muscle as a consumer. Because like Hollywood. But you know what do I care? Yeah. Gabe and Orstrand didn't see our latest flick. Perhaps we should change our ways. Well I mean honestly. Well what's the waterworks going to do? Gabe and Orstrand didn't buy our water. He's at his house. You know he's thirsty. Well I'm just saying. Like you just have to get closer to home. We're a municipality. You have to get closer to like what matters to you.
And like Dan was saying is that the company got bought. And that's it. So even if that boycott that he participated in. Maybe Dan was the straw that broke the camel's back. And Universal went down. That's what all protesters say. You could make a difference. Well I'm just saying. Even if. You band millions of people together. Even if it went that way. Yeah but they're playing to your ego massage. Like you're trying to make you important. I could change the world. I could be the one. Right.
Wait a minute. It's me? I'm the tipping point. But I mean all that happened was somebody else owns them now. And they're back to making movies. And it's all forgotten. Like it really didn't make a difference. Like if I'm going to boycott something. Then well you know history is being written. Well and here's here's really where our focus should be. Rather than you know going after certain companies. Then this is where I struggle with internally myself. I think you know my energy shouldn't be you know screaming about this car company or that movie company. I should be more concerned with talking to one person about Jesus Christ. Christ because if everybody's out there talking to one person about Jesus Christ then why would a person who loves Jesus Christ you know participate in some of the things that are being advertised and then the business dries up. I mean they only sell things because people are buying them.
They only make movies that mock Christ because people go to them. If nobody goes to them why would they make them? Well and this is this these are people that were raised on any press is good press. Yeah right. Well but any press is good press for the crowd that you're going for right. Like so it's it's not like I don't go out of my way to boycott. Oh I don't know. Coke. A certain kind of food. Yeah. Yeah. I don't I don't I don't boycott Coke. I just don't drink it. You know I'm saying. I don't go out of my way to boycott cocaine. I just don't use cocaine.
So it's not a concern for me. Like it doesn't necessarily need to be boycotted. It's just it's not part of my lifestyle. It's not an issue. Right. So you shouldn't have to go out of your way to to pick at the local adult bookstore when it's just it's not part of your deal. You know I'm saying you're not boycotting it. You're just not going. And so the more people that you can affect a change in their life through the love of Christ it won't be part of their life either. Once you once you get to the source of the problem and get off the fringes you know I'm saying stop filling around like the government does on the on the fringe benefits and get to the heart of the matter the heart of the matter is they don't know Jesus because they knew Jesus wouldn't be an issue for them. Right.
Right. So like like you're not likely to turn somebody's life around because you pick it at the movie that they were going to see. The real question is what made it compelling for them to want to see in the first. Right. And I tell you what that's probably the absolute worst witness tactic I've ever seen is when they pick one sin and then they try to sell you on Jesus because of it like the Metallica concert or a movie that gets puts out and gets rated NC-17 because it's racy. You know and and and here come here come the Bible churches showing up out of nowhere and they're saying you know turn from this movie or get to know Jesus Christ this movie is causing you to sin blah blah and it's like man you don't even know these people you don't know anything about these people you know that they're in sin that's good you know you got a starting point but you think that you're going to slam them home by saying we disagree with your choices let's fight about it you know it never works it absolutely never works I can't imagine there's any situation when someone said you know I was about to go uh you know go ahead and uh go go to this movie that got rated NC-17 and then the church was there and I thought
you know what I've done the wrong thing here I do love Jesus Christ you know what I hope the doors are open to that church because I'm ready let's go right now can we take your bus I don't I just don't I don't see it as an effective witness at all yes not a witness it's it's an attempt to um alter the community uh look for the change culture and and I'd rather do it individually making disciples yeah right right you don't you don't do that by putting up banners you do that by building relationships well and I tell you what you read most of the New Testament Jesus already told you how this is going to roll you're not going to change culture you know what I'm saying you can affect the lives of individual peace people but you will be the minority but you you can because like you look at the book of Acts uh people got really ticked off at the Apostle Paul because people quit buying idols you know I mean it it changed affected a market the effect of the market and all the merchants who made idols got together and they're the ones who stoned Paul saying hey you know we don't like what you're doing yeah but that's still just a snapshot of of of of that uh small area like like it the Bible makes no reference to uh I need a Bible oh all right I use the one on the phone what do you need give me a word give me that give me that thing well you gotta I have I'm preparing a statement I don't want you knowing what it is ahead of time okay you'll louse it up you
can search for keywords right there you're searching for shave we were talking about shaving one day Dan I think you're wasting this this I don't know what it costs I'm fairly certain it's in the hundreds of dollars you would be amazed at some of the things I've searched for dad is great oh I can't believe he's not in here had their beard shaved and everything like that it's hard to say they were a few they just does the last word yeah to go hang out for a while before he came back into the city because they were just like clean shaven oh Jesus tell me about boots I'm looking for a good toothpaste it's like what do I want to read today what's in there about an anchor anchor hope it works damn hebrews how long is this gonna be my it'll be a minute go ahead you were in the middle of a thought no it wasn't great though I'm bailing on you're still on the computer all right anyway so I think ultimately we came to it's um it's about creating relationships I I don't know that that actually changed culture I mean there was an impact to it it was a cultural shift it was a cultural shift I don't know about that absolutely they know and people said they turned the world upside down you read through the book of acts my friend and the church was was vibrant and it wasn't because they were out there protesting it's because they were bringing people to Jesus and they were changing yeah but the number counts
don't reflect like a like a like a literal broad world turning upside down there's a great shift in the in the line of thinking in the in the area at the time yeah okay so what's your point I'm not I'm saying that I'm saying we can't do that in johnson I'm saying that I'm saying that I'm saying still exists I'm saying it didn't I mean it wasn't a matter of fact there are periods of times great awakenings and so forth when you you can see the whole entire country shift or different countries shift and usually has to do with with some pretty strong preaching about repentance and getting back to god and and usually it's on the heels of of when people are like say now in a big economic turmoil and people start searching they say man everything's messed up what's going on you often see a big shift in in the in spiritual things the problem is that doesn't tend to last all that long because then within 20 years everybody's doing the same old stuff you know that they did before but um yeah I was I was gonna say that cultural shift couldn't have could have impacted that long they purged a lot of them I mean they killed the majority of the people we even look at Israel I mean throughout times they had times when they were knocking down idols and burning things and then you know generation later they're building them all up again and then they're all oh yeah this is bad then they cut them all down and you know it's like every generation all right I don't worship wood uh whoops how does that even happen not gonna be like grandpa I'm gonna do this that's actually the
the nation of Israel in the old testament is your it's um uh it's easy to get angry with them because they keep like turning to god and then turn away from god but it they're lazy like it I don't think it has much to do with them like actually physically saying I don't I don't want to follow god anymore they're they're lazy and ungrateful you know what I'm saying because like you don't you don't go hey I love christ oh you know what I decided I love this piece of wood shaped like a dog you know what I'm saying like a sentence might be a 40 year period yeah I mean but I I really feel like they're just it's because they don't care they can just as easily turn back away from it once god shows up and does something like oh right yeah god of the nation sure absolutely like I I feel like it's not it's not a matter of uh them I mean I mean they are turning from god ultimately but I I think they're just lazy I think they're just getting lazy and willing to worship anything that they think is going to help them they're getting self-centered and and that's what's doing it yeah I think I think we're all I think that's the way kind of we're wired have you ever you know on on a Sunday said man uh I will I will never never look at another woman again and you're driving on Monday to work and some half-naked joggers you know you go hey oh yeah I said come on dude put some stuff on I mean you know it's just we're that way we make great grand commitments and then two days later you know we're whatever and and then we get back up we slap ourselves and come on you put
your stuff back on you know you get going again and well I think that's kind of the point because I think you can look at the you can read to the old testament is like okay fun I mean how stupid can these guys be where are you at the old testament by the way are you in the kings yeah I tell you what I don't like whoever this the smarmy prophets that wrote the wrote the kings first and second kings at the end of about every paragraph they go there so they tell about the the kings of all the the kings of Israel the kings of Judah right and then they'll they'll talk about their life what they did and then it'll so they'll say and uh Jehoshaphat uh concerning what he did and the battles he won uh isn't it written in the books of the annals of Israel you know and it'll be the chronicles and it's so at the end of every chapter he's like I'm not gonna tell you no more you want to know more why don't you read a different book and he says it like read chronicles at the same time like at the absolute end of every did you not read the blah blah blah blah come on dude just tell me what happened if it's either it's important or it ain't he's like as for this stuff and the battles he won and the kids he have isn't it written somewhere else why are you trying to find it here I'm like man I don't I don't know who God put in charge of this book but I don't like that showed up in hebrews a lot too dare I even say about blah blah blah yeah yeah why don't you go ahead and say that explain to me dude smarty pants bible writer man you're lucky the lord lets
you write this thing because you're really irritating me man I'm sorry go ahead old testament no anyway I guess the only thing uh the only thing I look at is make sure that we don't we don't attribute it as if it's just a problem that they had like that I think that's why the laziness stuck out for me is I feel like that's what it is and like we're just as susceptible that to that now as we would as we would be you know then you know it's not just because they're they're like wild crazy people I think they're just lazy and I think we we have the same problem that they would have yeah I'll never cuss again yeah this I'm in a green van that's okay right right on man I here's I here's where I find myself here's where I find myself here everybody can look at me in the center here here's where I find myself slipping the most is when it comes to like talking about other people I can't keep I cannot keep my tongue and my mind in the right spot when it comes to foolish things other people have done and even labeling them as foolish is a judgment on my part it's hit and miss it most of the time they are they're just being ridiculous but like and like seriously I find that's where my biggest gap as a person that's trying to follow crisis is is not being able to look upon my brother with love but look upon him with like I don't understand your behavior you're just a ridiculous person you're causing Ben to sin I was gonna say I have to interject here why is Mike staring me down right now your foolishness is causing Ben to sin if you weren't so foolish

on Sunday with congregants getting envelopes containing 10 20 and 50 dollar bills the goal is for people to invest or use the money to help others including those struggling to recover from recent massive flooding in New Jersey he said he hopes others will invest their funds nurture the investment for growth and then donate the proceeds to the church to rebuild a homeless shelter so they're just I think it's going to work yeah that's cool yeah okay it's it's I have no idea am I the only one against this why are you yes obviously you're going to tell us why so just go ahead yeah go for it I have trouble a little I have a slight trouble on here yours is mine might be different because they're they're propaganding Jesus they're using Jesus for their own propaganda you think it's to get people in the door you think it's just a it's it's a it's a any press they're misrepresenting what a tithe is a tithe is not a charitable donation to a church you're giving money you're giving your first fruits to God that's what a tithe is a tithe is my lord and savior says I give money to help it to further his operation you give the money the lord directs where it goes through spiritual leadership and the foundation of the church the church decides to give it back as to to the people who obviously would have misspent it in the first place anyway that's why God's taking it from you so he can get things done they and give it back to him and then flying it under a flag and saying I hope that they spend it on this this this and this so you're
basically saying Jesus wants you to spend money on this which is great Jesus wants you to do a lot of things but that's what the church is for therefore in the first place I find it hard to believe that the lord directed them for a specific purpose that says us as a church are going to uh you you individually need to give to x homeless shelter like that doesn't generally happen the lord will put it on individuals hearts to do individual things but very I don't know I it sounds like propaganda to me it sounds like one guy greased one wheel and decided to push his agenda on everybody else it's an illustration that is supposed to leave a point a memory and and hopefully they'll look back at it here here's my trouble with it I look at it and uh that'd be like me giving my child a hundred dollars and putting it in their savings account and say you really need to start saving money like like like you just did and she's going well I didn't do anything you did it for me yeah because we're giving you the money and say you need to invest your money in in god stuff rather than saying okay you got money go spend it on god stuff right you know we're doing it for you yeah like is right is that uh is that a um uh yeah give till it hurts when when somebody someone here's 20 bucks uh it's spitted at the giving arcade yeah because I'd rather say here's here's the deal here's your obligation you give to god also now that you've done that this week I want you to go out and and serve people financially somehow go to a homeless shelter whatever see I can get on board with that
yeah I just don't see that's more appropriate because that's really what it that's really the balance of scripture I mean unless that church just has way too much money like I mean way too much money they need to be doubling they I mean they need to be buying campuses and bill and building more churches if they're taking in that like thirty thousand dollars they could turn around kick back out that's a lot of cash they're not they're not using the lord's offerings uh efficiently you know I'm saying if you could just get rid of thirty thousand they should have just built a homeless shelter I just I guess as a I'm kind of in the same boat here I I just it's not proving the right point it's right it's not yeah yeah you should go you should uh try to bless people you should uh be prudent with your money um but I mean give god the money first uh you show him that's where the importance is and then and then with the balance you know use it fruitfully uh not you know skip god for this week but use it fruitfully but like like what mike is saying it's just it's escape it's a scapegoat for leaders all they're doing is turn it right back around they should they should have just took taking that money in the first place and done what they should have done what they do what they're hired to do use you know build build one themselves go ahead troy how come you like to waste the lord's money I'm defective I'm sorry this is mr johnny supportive of this idea this is why I come here this is this is one of the reasons why I come to this radio show because I'm an idiot
and I have did you flag that wholeheartedly confess that on multiple occasions on this show I have confessed that wolf rolfton hammer has rolled himself as an idiot has confessed himself as an idiot because the first time when I first heard that I was like yeah that's awesome that's a good idea but now that people have actually put a god spin on it and not just me going well that'd be nice helping people is good it's not like helping people right but but it's it's this kind of operation where where god gets lost right now that I listen to everyone's points I'm just like oh because people people will say I don't need jesus because I do nice things for people you know I'm saying people lose jesus because they take they take uh their version of morality which is not which is not bad things you know helping people is not a bad thing you know I'm saying but I'm sure they're saying to do it in the name of jesus they're already followers of christ saying hey take this but that's the whole point if you're already a follower of christ then you should be doing that anyway you know I mean I could see saying let's make an emphasis everybody this week do is do something this week you know right um I just I I maybe I have a stricter version of what I think tithing is about but like tithing is tithing is not giving your money to god it's it's god saying you know here's how much you could keep give me that stuff give me give me some of it back I have things to do with it you have my money right I'm gonna let you keep 90 percent I gave you this entire paycheck I'm
asking I want that 10 percent back to show that that that you know that you belong to me and I have things to do and you want to see things further that you can't do as one individual I put it in my church and my church can get more things done as a collective than it can as an individual and uh I I'm letting you keep the rest I hope that you steward it well and help people and and uh use it to show my love and kindness uh and then keep your and support your family but uh you know it wasn't your money to begin with friend you know it was a blessing the lord gave you to start and uh it's he's not he's not you're not asking how much you can uh that you have to give him you should be asking lord how much you get to keep and then hope he doesn't take it all from you because some people he does there's some people that are christian homeless people they love jesus and god said give me all your money because a either a money is a stumbling block for you and you're not going to get over it so I need you homeless or b I just need someone in that area to minister to homeless people you're the guy go and it's the people that love jesus that go all right I guess I guess you can have all my money let's do this thing lord go you know what I'm saying how much you how much would you how much can you say your relationship with christ would be where you would give up everything to do it he asked more than one guy in the new testament to do that he asked a guy a guy said I'm ready to follow you jesus let's do this thing but first I got to bury my old man
his old man died his dad had died and he said I want to go bury him first god said not good enough I said we're going now let's go now so that guy he wasn't ready he wasn't ready he wasn't ready to give it up and say let's do this thing he had every excuse in the world even though it sounds totally reasonable to me I think are you kidding you can't you can't bury a family member that's died that's a bit harsh isn't it let the dead bury the dead ever seen a dead guy try to bury another dead guy inefficient it's the worst tv show ever it's a zombie movie but you know i'm saying like like are you ready to do this thing or not are you ready to sacrifice to do it are you ready to do what god tells you to do or aren't you are you ready to get your wife's tire changed are you gonna sit around making popcorn can i talk about i made popcorn tonight too yeah i was good i was good it was gonna be great officially have a new answer for one of my ltg questions i think we all know which one i'm talking about you're tired of defaming me causing me to stumble no i actually i thought i was being financially i had financial integrity until you saw them sunglasses and you went no i just wow i just you know i'd never really thought about it on a on a point of the whole yeah i know it's god's money and i'm not naive to think that you know that that i think it's my money i know it's not but i've never really thought about it is like god saying hey you can
keep 90 i'm gonna take this 10 back i've always thought like here god here's the 10 that i'm giving to you i'm doing you a big favor like he's a slum lord here here's your 10 you're right now keep me safe i can still sit a little right okay cool look at what i'm doing for you i'm giving you this 10 you're welcome more like god saying to me you're welcome for your 90 give me the 10 back right and it's like i've said that a million times and i still don't believe it wholeheartedly like i should you know i'm saying like i i know i know the deal and i still don't like if you looked at my life you wouldn't you wouldn't know that about me you could look at my finances and not go that guy loves jesus you know i'm saying like there's many things in there but it would not be i would not like to print it out and put it on the web so i had uh here's how great i am google so like that that's been a that's been a growth point for me for quite a while uh and so earlier this year i decided that uh that i i just need to do this so like i point blank i gave i gave everything that i was supposed to i gave it uh exactly what i was supposed to do and it there's no way that i was going to come out that month and have everything be fine and i didn't terrible shape it put me in the hose for four months afterwards trying to bail myself out and i thought there's got to be a lesson here uh and and i think and i think the lesson the lesson was is is that um is that he's asking me to be obedient with my money and and my lack of obedience up to this point has put me in a position
where i can't be i can't i i i have just just like um you know god can can forgive you for your past sins sometimes the earthly consequences of that sin will continue to follow you and there are consequences to having not managed my money in a biblical fashion in a way that put god first you know earlier in my life and so that is going to be a a sticking point for me for a while uh until i can get my stuff rearranged around where it belongs and um and i think it's tough to recognize that because i thought oh you know what i'm just going to do this thing and the lord is going to bless it and i'm going to be able to give my 10 it's going to be white ponies magic money's going to come from nowhere and but but ultimately i i think he's i think he's saying ben you know i i'm asking you to be obedient you're going to have a hard time pulling this thing off just like you know if you if you spent the early part of your years you know taking in images that you shouldn't be looking at and you got 20 years down the road and that stuff's still flying around in your head i mean yeah that's going to happen and is it going to make it difficult for you to stay on the path you're supposed to be on absolutely that stuff will continue to that earthly stuff will continue to follow you around and that money thing's no different you know disobedience in that in that era when i was younger uh whether i knew better or otherwise will continue to cause me problems until i can get that straightened out and that's the way it goes troy yeah don't cause me that's where
i believe it's a growth uh process uh that's what i always encourage people to do is you start out with a certain point and you and you say hey here's what i can afford you know here's and maybe even with a little faith involved with her and then in x number of months i'll do this you know with an environmental increase i'm scared of like i know it shouldn't be because i know you know god's or i don't it was a jesus saying that you know god closed the flowers the field and all that good stuff saying you know god will take care of you but part of me it might obviously my human part is just scared i'm like you know yeah i know what 10 of my money is i know exactly i mean thinking of just exactly what it is right now i know exactly what it's top off the top of my head and the more i think about it i'm like oh i don't know if i can handle that but it seems like an awful lot yeah i know i i should be able to i know that's what i'm entitled to do that's my obedience to god is that's how much i'm supposed to give but part of me is just like i don't know if i can pull that off right that can't apply to me i mean most people are probably doing it right why the when god says you're robbing for me when you're not giving the full 10 that's for other i gotta i gotta put that up on a wall or something that's getting me every time you're robbing malachi oh man where's that malachi chapter 3 say verse 9 ish let's see that's i mean that's fierce man you get up and you're like brushing your teeth and you're like by the way you've stolen from yeah that'd be cool you close you
close your bathroom mirror thing and it goes there's jesus you stole from me ben i bought the cheap toothpaste see you know i was reading in uh i was reading second kings last night in between my being angry at the guy that wrote it and uh there's a there's a story of a guy who asked uh you know in the old in the old testament the way a lot of stuff was done is that a king uh would uh want to do something and uh so he would find like the town prophet there'd be a prophet in town uh who would pray on his behalf and get the answer back for god you know and so i can't remember exactly what story it was but a king had asked a question to a prophet and the prophet said here's the lord came back with an answer he said here's what i'm gonna you're gonna win this battle i'm gonna do this for you and and the king goes uh well you know uh how do i know that that's a true that's a true statement how do i know the lord's gonna do this for me you know and uh the guy goes well you walk up the stairs when you walk up the stairs your shadow follows you right and when you go up your shadow goes up right and he goes yeah he goes when you go down your shadow goes down yeah he goes next time you go up the stairs your shadow's gonna go the other way i'm like no kidding this is the coolest test of god ever and so it plays out that the guy starts to walk up the stairs and his shadows hot footed it the other way i'm like who comes up with these things if i was gonna test the lord god almighty look at the new testament people are asking to move mountains and and change things and and blow
things up and kill people and whisk things away and this guy's like you make my shadow go the other way that'd be so cool he's doing it he's doing it i can imagine the guy looking back like oh i laughed out loud i was reading in bed i laughed out loud the wife goes what are you laughing at and then i told her the story she goes i don't get your humor it's not funny i thought me and god think it's funny i tell you a creepy story so me and the daughter were reading the uh the the children's bible before i before i came here and and we read the story where jesus made the whip and started tearing the temple up you know kicking the merchants out you know and all this jazz and and uh one of the questions was uh because they like towards the end like the pharisees that had asked to see a miracle to prove who jesus was they said jesus can you do a miracle so we can believe in you and they have questions at the bottom of the children's bible to kind of help further their thinking you know and one of the questions was is that if if jesus did a miracle in front of you uh would you believe in him as would you believe he is the son of god and so i asked grace that question she goes uh i've never seen him do a miracle but i believe he's the son of god i'm like good girl good girl you're doing great and then she goes she goes plus i've seen him when i was a baby and i'm like uh what uh what did you see and she goes well he was there and i was like goo goo ga ga ga ga i'm like okay good she's making this up creeping me out i'm like what if the lord's talking to my children
i'm not ready for this i am but i'm not quite ready like i'm just i want to hear what she says and she goes and i said so what what happened again she goes well when i was a baby goo goo ga ga ga she's like five oh she's four years old you know and so she's totally making this up uh so it's not a true story but i was like i was in the moment i was so proud of her for saying that yeah so i love jesus with without the miracles i'm on board with jesus i'm like i love you you're doing such a good job and then she's like i've seen jesus personally i'm like oh man oh man i haven't led my family well because i should be spiritually capable of handling whatever comes out of her mouth and i know that i'm not i was scared to death everything seems to be fine anyway moving on for you see jesus talk to ben about it i'm not ready i've got i got your verse for you troy okay malachi chapter 3 verse 6 for i the lord do not change therefore you o children of jacob are not consumed for the days of your fathers from the days of your fathers you have turned aside for my statutes have not kept them return to me and i will return to you says the lord of hosts but you say how shall we return will a man rob god god's answer is back yet you are robbing me but you say how have we robbed you in your tides and contributions you are cursed with a curse for you are robbing me the whole nation of you bring the full tide into the storehouse that there may be food in the house in my house thereby put me to the test as the lord of hosts if i will not open the windows of
heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need he goes on and they were in the middle of drought and really hard times economically and they're saying there's no way i can afford this and he says well you're robbing me and go ahead and test me preach that one on sunday dan i have put it out there these people don't respond well to the tithe sermon if you do it in the context if it's not all you talk about i mean it's obviously not an emphasis you know we don't sit there and beg well you want to tiptoe around it you got so yeah we hit we've hit it pretty hard and it's been a while it's been a while dan i've heard your hard-hitting tithe sermon i was barely scared obviously i'm actually done what i moved up from two percent to like four i'm like well he's kind of half serious i think the lord's okay with me doing whatever i want who even has a storehouse anymore i tried to build one i don't have the funds to build the storehouse it can't be real there's no storehouses moses gave david broke into the grain and all that stuff no big deal everything is okay all right you're listening to life is bad so otherwise no good no giving away money to the church congregants i don't know so we're talking about a new jersey church who uh instead of taking in uh money for jesus uh they they took 30 grand put it in envelopes and had people take money out of the plate i don't know see every time i get all hot-footed about these kind of things the guy will come on the tv tomorrow and say you know we prayed on it for a long time and
we feel like the lord's leading us to do this and here i am going no it's the devil he's working i'll give you two more quotes for him you can and you can react to him here we go we are not a rich church we don't own a building we don't hold a mortgage but we're trying to teach our people to be rich in good deeds uh works righteousness and jesus calls himself the living water and we think church should be that cannot be saved by works alone it's by faith now a long time ago back wow it would have been in the 90s i used to go to colorado several times a year and and was sat in with a mega church a lot like this sat around talked and a mega church guy always pulled us what's going on in his church and we all were like learning from him got the exact same tenor as those conversations of it very very similar uh there's like 12 of us and they they did this back in the mid 90s and um and he you know he made it a good uh argument for what they were doing you know they're teaching people and blah blah blah but i still think it's like telling your child here's 100 bucks it's time you start saving and it's like it didn't cost them any it didn't cost my child anything so there's no real personal there's no skin in the game you know here's the thing as as an outside as a as a person who who was not a christ follower does do these actions help you want to get to know jesus more well i think the point is we're sending the entire army of people out to say hey you're a homeless guy you need some money here i'm gonna or you know to touch people's lives the whole point
really was to reach out and evangelize assuming the people who received the money in the first place that church already were christ followers and they're going out to do something with it uh i mean i mean the the goal is good i think i still think it's it's it's only half maybe i disagree with the practical means maybe i disagree and and this might be on on a large scale like i disagree with with most churches witnessing in general like witnessing attempts like i think they do they do it in a bodacious cheesy manner when they do do it and then most churches most of the time are most uh are self-serving organism you know i'm saying like the community outreach is cheesy at best and and and it's slight like it's like if you can't say if i couldn't look at most modern churches uh and i and my life is the exact same my my life speaks the exact same volume i fail at this a lot right is but i couldn't look at the at most of the body of christ today and say they truly want to see people moving to christ i would say that i look at the body of christ mostly and and think they just want to be served or serve themselves or feel comfortable around a body of believers where they're not harassed for their beliefs which is a an awesome byproduct of being part of the body of the body of christ but you're really you're not doing your job you're it's it's like going to an e it's like having an ego massage on sunday morning i think part of the why that is is i mean i can see how this works you're sitting at a staff meeting you have this team of people you're trying to be innovative you're
trying to do something different trying to make a point uh here's the big point we're going to bring across you sit there and you brainstorm you know and we're gonna do this we do that do that and somebody has an idea well let's give money to the people you know and then they all jump on board and and i mean we've been in those meetings we can make anything sound like the greatest idea ever you know and and unless someone's there to say that's really a bad idea we've gone forward with some some pretty lame ideas i can't think of any but i'm sure we have and this is how it is you you start feeding and then and then pretty soon you've given away thirty thousand dollars to your own people who who gave that to the church in the first place and i you know and i i don't think it's all i i i don't think it's all bad i don't i don't want to color like the church is crazy or nothing they're probably you know they're just they're just people had an idea and the motive's pure yeah i i don't i can't it's not that big of a deal i just don't i don't know like like i've i've been i don't it almost every church that comes by in a in a news story or on tv i just feel a discontent like there's there a a self-serving operation like it just feels like we've lost the the the the the axe the the axe beat you know feet to the streets you know they're going out and that's what they do they disciple people for christ you know the church is is is set up to bring people in you will spread the word to the nations you know and and we get comfortable in a church
setting and then it's like well how do we serve the people that we got becomes more of an issue than how do we how do we get more people to know jesus you know i'm saying because you really if you truly have christ in your heart you shouldn't need a whole lot of ego massage or pampering you know i'm saying you have the love of of our our risen savior that's running your life how much pats on the back and you're a great guy do you really need you know i'm saying god loved you enough to die for you that rocks that should be enough to keep you afloat which should give you enough strength to go out and find more people for christ stop saying you go massage now i use it more than once dan agrees i concur that's a you didn't use anything i can't improve on that you have a lofty speech that you would like to spiel oh king of words so so here's here's our latest nobody i've got to put me in trouble with the ltg troll you keep this up i've got two fires burning okay so so you guys help me out here somebody be somebody be the uh the wet blanket here there's a a bar on uh east northeast 14th right over by bonanza don't you give me a round up dan it is closed it's for sale uh matter of fact did you see i sent that to you i've seen it yep uh and um what bar uh porky's or something anyway it doesn't matter it's closed and um what a great saturday night campus that would be also a place for you two booze hounds take it easy for a minute also a place to do youth group on on wednesday nights uh we could have concert venue we'd have things and we could serve uh soft drinks you
know and i'd have bar there we could we could we could have we could really use that building for some jesus stuff yeah um for example mike's curious for example i can't think of a downside nope other than it's they're selling it for half a million but um well i'm gonna if they'll lease it for x amount per uh sure month then that's a fantastic idea i think it's a great idea and then we have a campus going on the east side of town there you go i'm preaching saturday night at the bar there you go it's a saturday night campus gonna be sweet and uh that also frees up some of the space we got some space issues on sunday mornings right now yeah so we'll say hey man go to the bar on saturday you have a saturday night church yeah we would i look at him telling you i would be so happy and i know that that sounds terrible as long as jesus is convenient no that's not what i'm saying i have been pushing a saturday night church for years for two years i've been pushing it here's your answer it doesn't cost a half a million dollars right here we need a place we're we're spending 20 grand a year right now just to rent the school we got this does not alleviate that problem i know except it gives us more space wouldn't that be a cool place it just gives us i know i know liability you look up dennie l will uh company.com and you can i can't think of where a porky's was at on northeast 14th it was a country kitchen it's by the bonanza yeah it wasn't by the big lots the big lots no that's not by the big lots you're the right it's on the north side there's like a south side type of store there

you who are weary i will give you rest yeah and and a diet coke yeah and a 75 cent coke i gotta find a place for my popcorn quarter refills and we need a hot dog roller people like it dollar sandwiches get that on ebay it might be already in there it's a turnkey right now for a bar it says so we can walk right in this is a terrible idea really tell me why what do you think would that be a horrible place for like a a church service it'd be kind of a fun more laid-back type acoustic thing probably i mean i don't know depends on the setting i don't know how big it is no laid-back acoustic thing are we going to small you can rock in there i was just afraid to be overwhelming now they're going java joe's with crap now it's gonna say no it's gonna rock it's gonna yeah we gotta go i much prefer the rock bigger bigger bigger bigger okay i'm in all right so now now that we're rocking we'll add on we're rocking now we're no no more porkies we're rocking no no we're gonna rock it's bigger than blues on grand was well by about four times well we got what uh i say 4700 square feet i say we just stop messing around with my vets i the the municipality building there we go the one owned by the sale though it is yeah we could rent that's auditorium i think of a couple hiccups to that one is indeed not not for sale hey hey is that dollar theater still open open by the northern tools you know what you know what pick that place okay the place the place that they tried to make uh into the copa
yeah cool they're closed again already i guarantee the old ingersault the old ingersault we need an east side campus though we have a lot of east siders we could establish a current campus establish one campus and then maybe we should get another one we have an established campus we have two services we have a rent we have black hole we have sunday school classes that are bursting at the scene which could use a building to go into exactly well hey this church game is getting thirty thousand dollars away had three locations two in motels one in a school oh that so that's awesome you're so we need multiple locations your example is i'm trying to expand so you want you want we need to east side back acoustic porkies i want to rock and roll we're gonna rock it i don't like acoustic we're rocking all right well jared's always trying to go acoustic i'm like no i we do acoustic on tuesdays yeah see that's it we have it 24 i mean we have it we have it seven days a week we can do different services at different times we show the ball game guy that can't even get his oil changed or his tire changed i don't need to change the oil there now hold on dan you you have to put this perspective you're the big idea man what you'll do is go shazam and then you'll walk away and let the details be sorted out by somebody do i look like a detail guy look at that light bulb oh it'll be fixed someday i don't know that's the benefit of being the big idea man it was when it tanks you'll go i don't know what happened i had this great idea i had people in charge of that they were
supposed to put it together and find out how we were going to pay for this and whatever we did okay with this place what do you mean yeah look at it we're in here right now there's a radio studio in here by the way we put a studio in this place wouldn't that be a cool place for the studio you're trying to tug at my heartstrings dan i won't buy it i'm saying because we can hey we can use this i just remember i remember hearing my dad talking about when we when dan first wanted to buy this place and that's a good story i'm just saying i remember that very interesting dan is a good idea man see you can't even include any bit of the conversation or anything so we'll put in it we'll put in a radio station at this place uh with the window that faces the street with the live bands no you're trying to tug at me and i'm not gonna have it no we're telling me soda there it's gonna work well yeah there's free we'll dedicate a parking space for smoking i don't know about that that'd be a terrible idea christian smoking only sorry do you know jesus there's already flames on the door we can say turn or burn you don't like porkies you're gonna lose your congregation we'll call it the repent you guys you're gonna have a you're gonna have a mutiny your entire congregation is gonna leave the rock and repent the rock and repent this is the east side campus it screams i love jesus yeah it also screams well now let me ask you this we have you tonight so i can see it real quick will you let me ask you
this question if you were attending a church in a rented building and they started a new campus where they purchased the building that you could use at any time right buy that one on the east side that one time well we have well that's here's the question like do you own it do you owe anything to your to your congregation that's donated all the money to give them a permanent facility first now you're talking like a a selfish uh what a little self it's i'm asking it to jesus and then and jesus does what it wants you owe me the money you've got to make me now according to you guys jesus wonders to buy five buildings we're building the church of one that we're going after that one lost sheep and if he happens to go to an old bar that's awesome we're not just having a bar that you like and think is a great idea what's your point you're selfish i don't think you guys can be trusted since we're doing bars obviously you can buy this the place on army post used to be celebration i tried to set up some uh small groups on the south side which it doesn't play i think these sides would do it we need an old bowling alley yeah or or a skating rink christian bowling alley cover up those lanes and rip them out but that is perfect yeah i think the movie theater is the way to go yeah that'd be cool you have theater seating the old angersault theater why did you make that noise i have no idea you're it's two per cahoots with uh crazy man over here sounds like an
awesome plan i'm telling you it's it's time it's time to do something well yeah i would agree with that there see we need an east side campus and go we need a jesus soft drink bar with ruler hot dogs and popcorn get an elementary on the east side are there any actually so so there's a church that just bought the experience church bought um the church over on the uh it's on the east side heading into altoona right on hubble they picked up an old elementary school that would have been sweet they beat us to it yeah i did they put it about like a month and a year and a half ago i'm hurt we could buy an old furniture store what the home it's too much a homemaker is too much it's huge it's like everything everything leaks i was going in there like the last final days going oh we're gonna put a church here and it was like everything's oh man it's putting a roof on that puppy it's huge we don't want to do that alone putting a roof on that thing that alone would put you will be the rent that we pay a year now yeah that's that's we're not putting in a roof anyway it was life in the past i really would i would like to be on the building committee i'd like to myself when you guys say we need people to reign us in these are the exact conversations that you need to reign in guy and i even like you guys and i think you're ridiculous i mean i'm in cahoots in a radio show with you we spend a lot of time together and this is the stupidest thing i've ever heard and i usually love these ideas i believe we're replacing mike aren't we yeah that's
all it takes on a building committee can you be a yes man you're in only there's only a yes box please sign up for your pharisee press badge dan hudson king of the pharisees you don't like the way i do this let me put on my other robe uh it's biblical to play in a church where the sins are at is it and you could build a church anywhere so why don't we just why is it necessarily at the east side bar well it doesn't that make it doesn't fit in with anywhere now listen here's what you've done you've done this is the classic this is the classic example of the televangelist move right you take stuff that sounds like it's super jesus and then put it all in a package and then try to sell it to people like the guy that was selling the eagle the golden eagle on tv there was a televangelist yeah 15 years ago he goes you want the presence of jesus in your home by this golden eagle it will represent jesus in your place every every day you can look at it and say jesus lives here that eagle has absolutely nothing to do with jesus hey man we're going to be preaching in there we're going to be bringing in uh christian acts to rock out for christ in there you can do that anywhere we can't put them in here you can do that without spending a dime no where you where are you gonna do that we tried to do that remember we had a band that wanted a spot we couldn't find a place to put you didn't try very hard and we did find a place to put them fair sit fair cynical folks would not let it happen oh yeah oh yeah
i believe that first they uh called you back after first he's already made their judgment although uh not conversation for the time all i'm saying is is that not so that you don't necessarily have to spend half a million dollars to justify what you're doing it can be done for way less than once you lease something and see if that works that's what we're talking about no you're not we talked about leasing it you're talking about buying it out right we're talking about leasing it yeah what are we gonna get half a million dollars come on yeah that'd be silly that'd be wasteful but if we could lease it you're ridiculous and and through uh you know simple things you know make a little cash back to the to help with the rent you know selling hot dogs selling hot dogs that's gonna be our big break hot dogs and soda jesus pops and hot dogs sell a sell a pop for a buck and a hot dog for a buck 50 and you only need like 500 of those a month yeah oh that's it's that's like youth group four four times a week a month that'll pay for it itself tell you anyway here we go you're listening live in the past we're buying a well yeah oh hot dogs need the mail remember that mike we're gonna mail hot dogs around oh my gosh that was the best idea ever you're darn right it was still brilliant million hot dogs yeah one million dogs dot com do you still on that website no what what speaking of million hot dogs dot com just because
it's just dot com it was the website you guys wanted to create you guys ever heard of cafe press dot com yeah yeah i'm on it are you really yeah i'm gonna be on it by the end of this week why what are you gonna put out there making t-shirts i haven't decided yet you're the other billion doofuses on cafe press dot com but i'm gonna make money but i'm a genius t-shirt man no one of my managers has literally made like six hundred dollars in the last year six hundred bucks i'm sorry a year no just by literally he put like three t-shirts on that and doesn't use let's hit him up for a we need a building that's right call that guy it's like two bucks a day i know you could buy a hot dog for that i know right we'll let you put up a little shop at our east side campus who is this magic business man no he just who knows the ways of the economy years or a while back he was bored and one of his buddies was like dude we should run for an uh an elected office just messing classic idea no just messing around and he was like what should i run for they said sheriff just kidding so he started making sheriff t-shirts his name for sheriff and had his face on it with a with a cowboy hat on and literally like people around the world have bought this t-shirt can you run absolutely can you run for sheriff without qualification i don't know he got 1800 votes as a politician you don't have to qualify for anything do you it's public office yeah it was like anybody can run you're supposed to get like 200 000 votes to win obama's president that kind of
tells you anything that can happen wait a minute all right there you know sheriff he's a community organizer you have to have some kind of law enforcement background don't you nope it's public office yep it's like any public office the stupidest thing i've ever heard elect ben for they can they can pull people over yeah anybody well they'll say what grounds i don't know there's a difference between being a deputy and being the sheriff you can lead a bunch of dudes that can do the reasonable things you can't just do anything on your own yeah you can't just hop in a car just pull somebody over what are the cars that say sheriff on them it's sheriff's deputy that's not a real he's the second command gets a car the actual sheriff does not get a car he gets to sit and do what the sheriff told them to do it gets the helicopter towards i don't know about this organization that seems poor run for sheriff maybe i will i'm going to when i don't know what county come to send you hey don't do it in my county all right you run for sheriff i'll run against you you can bust porkies you win on this thing oh whatever that's right i can get more votes what all right yeah you're not you two aren't running for sheriff it's not gonna happen here's so here's a question so in the crazy love book francis chan says worry and stress reek of arrogance like toys comment on him getting more votes than me at the sheriff the question is and so like would you find it be true then that anytime you've been worried about something or stressed about something
does that then make you arrogant because you're not turning it over to god what is his full point can you i mean i remember i remember reading it but i don't remember the context that is the no that is the context that's just it yeah worry worry and stress reek of arrogance because you're not turning it over to god you're spending your time worrying about something you're spending your effort stressing about something that you could have turned over as if your little world is the most important thing and yeah i don't find that to be 100 true elaborate disagree next no is it just general stress if i stress out about anything it's it's crazy for me to do that because there are certain things you know you have to that's the center of my stress is how am i going to react like it's it's things that i that has happened so far and i've reacted certain ways well okay now i'm a little stressed out i'm in my situation how am i going to react what keeps you from turning something over to christ and saying look what's going to happen is going to happen i fear the fear that when the time comes that i need to react i'll just freeze i won't know what to do isn't that a lack of trust that's something you can do to god maybe it's a lack of trust in me maybe you should stop having faith in yourself there you go there you go i like that mike what you disagreed i i descended oh you took it back no no no yeah keep going i what if here's the thing she just came up today i have no idea what that was i was thinking about it because we talked about this already once and i
thought uh i i felt that way more usually the times that that i get that i get most stress and most worry is when i feel like i'm not listening to god when i should be and i'm stressed and worried on how my relationship with god has gotten to this point that's stress and worry and i think it's healthy stress and worry i don't think that reeks of good stress i think that reeks of of humbleness like what have i done to do this because obviously god hasn't departed for me i've departed from him done nothing to impress ben at all so why don't you just stop doing that yeah i was gonna say that stressing about it just just playing haven't you ever felt that way though no and i understand where you come from but instead of stressing about it do something do what i don't know how i lost it in the first place haven't you ever just felt so don't you think you could you could ask god about that i mean that's something that probably the dude that knows your heart knows everything you do before you do it knows everything you say before you let me ask you a question before you start barking anymore i'm not barking i'm just saying hold on just let me hear me out go ahead i was okay so if if a guy like me comes up to you and says troy i feel separated from god you tell me to pray to the same god that i feel separated from i'm having a hard time even doing that i feel like me and god are a million miles apart and i'm concerned with it because i don't know how my relationship got here and i don't remember ever feeling so far apart from god your your your advice
to a man who's in a delicate fragile state of feeling a relationship far apart from god is to shut up and stop doing that bucket up sinner no it is that's what he's saying i'm just paraphrasing troy in all honesty you just you just answered your own question because you said if you're that far away from god it's your own fault true stop running from jesus god's not running away from you you're running from god you guys are awful people i'm just awful you're not loving people that's not what i'm saying if you yourself are actually listen you're finding a guy you're finding a guy yourself that loves that that that had i'm talking about a random guy you said you're putting your own spiritual stress upon yourself you putting your own stress upon yourself is not a random guy that's you i said a guy if you want to make it me make it me that's fine make it me fine you're splitting hairs for no reason with me or another guy is the same situation so there i was and i said hey mike boosted he said man i'm stressed and i said about what i said i feel like i'm i feel like my relationship i'm my relationship is drifting from christ i don't know what to do it's freaking me out oh that's bad that's bad that's real bad ain't no coming back from that oh man better just go ahead start heading to hell you got no choice here's your ticket you're done well i so i mean what what's um let me ask this let's say you start that conversation is there anything that you would say to somebody else or expect them to say that you couldn't say to god
like like i i think the chat makes a solid point like couldn't you say god i'm feeling like we're far apart here i've done and i don't know how to resolve that i've done that i've done that before yeah i've done that before i've done that before yeah i've done that before god was obviously a much better counsel than you heartless jerks that's what i'm saying that's what we're saying holy cow that's been the whole time i'm not gonna be able to give you the right i didn't ask for your advice i just said troy i'm having a hard time and then you told me to stop it and change my ways now you're like a seventh day adventist if you are so far from god and you have no idea why you are uh-huh saying that to me and no matter what i say myself i'm not gonna be able to help well i certainly hope you wouldn't say what you said the first time that's what i'm getting at so you say okay so some random guy let's stick with that some random guy say it's me do this thing it's you you walk up to me after this show and say troy i'm not feeling close to god anymore i'm not gonna be like well what do you think it is because if you knew what it is you probably would have been trying to fix it by now and you wouldn't be so oblivious to what's going on maybe you just always know if you knew what it was you wouldn't be so stressed out true that's not true direction you'd have i just said true that's not true i think people do they just need to process they they need to they need to talk out loud and process it people almost every i don't care what
struggle that is in their life they have the answer they just haven't processed it enough to even know it if they have kid problem you just did a sermon about this drifting away from god with the eyes closed in the inner tube and opening your eyes and you're far away from the beach and blah blah how did i get here i don't know i shouldn't have closed my eyes well how do you get back i don't know you get back you start swimming i can't believe people are coming to our church in droves after this this heartfelt advice right to the point you're so far away fix it if i fix it you know okay let's let's say i i feel like my wife and i aren't communicating very much well what do you do well you start communicating you start communicating it's not that hard nothing's all that you don't talk to somebody else i mean i mean you can be around that for a while or you can there's no reason you can't the thought that you can't be honest with god who knows you anyway with anything that you have going on like that that's where the barrier is right it's the thought that there should be something else outside of that that's going to eventually get me back to christ as opposed to look i'm scared i'm worried i feel like i i want to trust you more but i feel like i'm not and i don't know what's blocking me and you know it's it's not taking it anywhere else i think there's a benefit to talking stuff through with people because i mean sometimes that process happens better in a group because people will prod questions that you yourself are not asking probably intentionally yeah like why aren't you
changing your life clinking beard said that you said that i paraphrased him that's basic coaching i don't care what it is uh you come up and say man uh i really i really bombed uh in the worship last week well why do you think that is well you know i suppose we did that one song that was really stupid yeah well how do you how could you have maybe fixed that maybe maybe we could have chose a different song i mean they they know i mean people know they just ask them through lead them through it and they have the conclusion people are smart but they blind themselves no matter what i don't care name the issue doesn't matter that they they think about it for a little bit they know how to fix them now sometimes people actually need legitimate help but but even spiritual stuff it's not the heart i'm not connected we'll start praying start reading the bible it's god's word i mean it's not that complicated just do it what is the general consensus of all this is stress good or bad i think i well the thing is i the only the only the only issue i have with the quote with the way that he talks i think it's it was helpful for me because i think it identifies um parts of my life that i'm probably not relinquishing i think stress in the fashion that he's talking about is bad um i i think there's it's not like you can't be thinking about things that are coming up planning for the things that are coming up um but the question is is like whatever the consequences are they are not stronger than god they can they are are not stronger than um than the peace that you can have
through your relationship with christ like whatever it is like think of the absolute worst thing i can think of you know uh i die somebody i know dies but like honestly i've already solved the big problem in my life the big outstanding problem i have is the relationship with christ through which i can handle anything else that is between me and that particular issue um and and i think worry and stress tend to show up because we try to solve our own problems and and when he says it reeks of arrogance it's not arrogance is is is a weird word it sticks out when you read it but but really it's to say it it reeks of of self love and self-confidence the thought that i will solve this i will handle this and it's that particular line of thinking that gets you off in a direction in which you will most likely fail right because i'm putting my trust in myself or even other people that i know to help me through a particular situation or time of trouble um when i know people will always fail me that's always going to be the case even the most perfect person that you know will fail you in one way or another and so i i think um there is a certain matter of being able to to kind of give it to god and that doesn't mean that you don't think about it anymore or it doesn't mean that um you don't you understand that there are potential consequences something you will still weep when someone dies even if they go to heaven even if you brought it to christ to say you know help me to handle this correctly you're still going to weep um but it but it doesn't ruin you it doesn't wreck you it doesn't
stress you out it doesn't you know take you down for a while i and i think that's that's the distinction is is is there there's a sense of peace in in giving that stuff away and it's hard it's very very difficult to give stuff away uh for one of two reasons one could be because you don't trust that god's going to take care of it like you don't really trust that god will change and you're afraid that if you give it to god and you don't feel peace you know that your relationship with god is not good or uh that there's not really a god or that god has failed you right or the other end is like i i feel like i should be able to handle this on my own i don't want to bother god with it you know i got uh you know i have a minor illness or like my car doesn't run well or we're low on money yeah and so like i mean who am i to be petitioning god for something so goofy i i can handle this part i can handle groceries this week i can handle whatever and so i'm going to keep that out of god's realm i'm going to pray on the big stuff the people in africa and my broad relationship with my life with my wife and my my broad sin that i constantly need help with but i'm not going to bring the small thing to him because i mean who bothers god with that stuff and and so but i can spend my my week being stressed out about groceries but it's because it's the one thing i'm holding back from god i'm refusing to give up and you know what maybe groceries don't show up you know i'm not saying that hey god give me groceries i'm saying lord i'm really stressing out about this stuff i
just i'm not quite sure what's how we've gotten to this situation i probably do you know but but i say you know we're sweating groceries you know help me to see the help me to handle this correctly yeah actually i find that that uh more often than not god does not offer me solutions he offered me perspective uh when it comes to an issue because like something that i think that i can handle on my own and it's not worked out and i think it's failed and then i try to hold god to my own standard and say god you fail you know you didn't you didn't bless this thing you know you didn't help me you just kind of left me hanging and then it'll come out it always does it always shakes out like this it always shakes out after a period of time i'll look back on it and uh i'll realize that it it happened exactly the way god wanted it to happen it was my perspective that was poor and uh i was listening actually to a guy talk this week and he said he said people that say jesus uh or god led me to do this thing or are people who claim to know god's will and uh he goes he goes i'm under the firm belief that god's will is never known except for in the past like you can always see exactly what god's doing after it's happened he goes he goes you know i i i he didn't want to discount you know you know god using people and all this kind of jazz he goes he goes but from my experience god god's will is evident in the past your hindsight's always 20 can't always he goes you'll never see what god's doing god doesn't normally share that with you you know
what the future's gonna hold and what's gonna happen he goes but you look back on it you'll see exactly what god's will is and it's always evident and you can always find it and it's always there and that's at and it's true it's usually not uh it's usually not a uh a blessing as so much as a perspective change and that's the blessing part yeah i would agree and i and i and i think there's um i think there's still something to feeling stress i i think that my biggest stress is feeling i think maybe like this is something you were getting at is that i might fail god right my biggest sense of worry is the thought that like i'm not listening or that i'm not doing something that is uh what he wants me to do or that uh i need to tidy something up and like even that it's a self-fulfilling prophecy because that in itself is a failure because i'm saying i'm i'm not recognizing who i am uh as if i would have been able to hide it from god to begin with you know i'm saying like it's sometimes it's just being the most open that we can be it is it's the biggest uh benzoyle word catharsis right it's the ability to work through the stuff that that we have by just by laying it all out there and say look i i don't even know what i'm saying here like i'm just talking to you god because like i i don't even know the best thing to say i'm just i'm just trying to lay it out there so i can be open with this and figure out where i'm at and what i'm doing and and i have to trust that god will bring clarity and sometimes he'll bring clarity to the extent that my life um looks different than it did
and sometimes it's clear to the extent that that that's just what i need to be doing i sometimes i just need to do a dump i just need to dump it all out and say look i'm emptying myself of my stuff and saying i want to be filled with you and your stuff um because when it's your stuff then i don't have to sweat my stuff you know and there's little and little things will still happen and you'll still there's still be things day to day that you could be concerned about but those should be flags for you to do another dump and then and then and then know that things are going to shake out even if from an earthly perspective they're not what i wanted or what i expected as i get rid of me my wants and expectations uh no longer hinder my progress because i'm not necessarily focusing always on my wants and expectations i'm focusing on god's will and his expectations for my life and and obviously those can't let you down and i have to have faith in that that's truth of it i've done that before there's actually nothing more refreshing than a nice old school old testament sacrifice one animal at a time dump you know i'm saying like like you a lot a lot of relationships are built uh you know you first get to know somebody it's it's short conversations hey how you doing hey how was your weekend hey how your kids doing what's your grandma's name blah blah whatever you know saying you get to know somebody over a year and uh you get to know know them through little conversations you know and then the people that you really know and you really know you've had conversations with them you know
i mean you've had two three hours conversations with them just talking and talking and talking and uh i don't know i'm under the firm belief that if you haven't had that conversation with god in a while it's a conversation to have it really is i think i did i don't know when it's been it's been here recently that i did a i did an old testament like i just went through my sin one by one usually i'm like lord forgive me of my sins and help me to to seek you tomorrow you know kind of a shortcut and for some reason i just came across it some one night and i was like uh god i'm a liar i'm i'm a liar i am and uh you know i need i need forgiveness for that and i just kept going down the list man i was up for i said it's been up for an hour and a half listing my crappiness i was like man this list never ends i sing with a high voice and then i got to then i got to an hour and a half i'm like there's got to be more crappiness than this i think i'm short-changing but uh it's it's uh it's something to do i it's something i mean you know i wouldn't force it or anything but i mean getting to know god is it really is a relationship and it really is uh it's not a quick fix and it's not my buddies know him so i know him or you know i go to this building once a week it's it's relationship to be had you know i mean i can count i count a number of people's houses that i've been to because they're friends of my friends and i wouldn't know those people from anybody you know i know their name it's about it you know that's not a relationship with tony
you know me and tony aren't buddies just because my buddy knows tony you know so i i think your relationship with god is very similar to that the chat brings up a um what i think is a uh i don't know i think almost a refreshing perspective is is when you recognize the truth of um you know doing the dump and letting letting god run your life it could mean things that aren't that don't meet what your expectations are uh and the biblical example of job is is generally a good example uh job was was really put through the business god permitted satan to do that um to prove uh that job would continue in his faith um and that's a tough example i mean it's the extreme example but it is a tough example because we can look at that and say you know you know anything could happen um you know and still my my faithfulness should persevere and and job everyone lost his kids lost his house he lost his wife i mean he lost his health health always terrible he's boils and stuff cutting himself with stuff trying to keep himself feeling better he's i mean he had a rough go yeah um but you know that that for me ultimately is still something that i have to i have to move my perspective right because it sucks from my perspective um i you know if it brings glory to god in the way that he sees fit you know i i i i have to believe that he'll he'll allow me to bring have peace with it uh and whatever it's not like job coasted through but but but god's perspective was you know after he i mean he yelled at him for a while at the end of joe but still said you know he persevered he you know
i love the end of joe yeah that is so oh man that's just god just put him up against a wall joe against the wall saying who do you think you are yeah you've had yeah you've had some pretty rough times i'm god yeah shut up i mean it's pretty sweet well you know and and and the thing is is i mean god is clear god wants to bring uh a blessing upon his children i mean he's clear about that i mean it's i i i think um the the thought that there's always a god cloud over your head of which he might decide i want another joe i mean here's the cool thing is like we already have the joe example right like joe exists for us uh i think that's that that was a uh joe is a palette of which god gets to paint more about him so that we get to learn more about his character um and what that might mean for us i i don't know that it would be necessary to do another job at the same time we look at blessing we say god wants to bless us and we look at is oh happy times and picnics right on a sailboat the biggest blessing in joe's life what was the suffering he went through not during the time it wasn't the time he wasn't thinking this is really great you know this is awesome thank you god yeah but he looked back and and everything everything was different everything changed yeah i mean uh he didn't have his original children back obviously but he had more children he had more success he had more everything and and his whole life was a blessing because he could compare it to the pain he'd gone through and deepened him and deepened his relationship my my times
of growth in life have come through pain you know not through you know sitting in the bible study you know the stuff i get in a bible study might shed light on the pain i went through but um i mean you need both but um yeah it's the rough time well and you know i i think that's um i don't know i and i think mike probably in the same boat here within the last two or three weeks i think you know i i think we've had that i think we just had had stuff going on and you're like uh you know i don't know what i'm supposed to do with this but i've seen some really uh tremendous growth in in you know in relationships with uh with family members relationship with god i mean you know and and if you can look at that perspective that this is this is the time of where i'm to be learning not necessarily this is the time of where i'm to be suffering so i can learn you know even that is not bad you know this is the time where i will be the victor in face of suffering yeah god i mean god uses it's true god uses everything for his glory he uses every single thing that we go through that we see for his glory he uses our suffering and our pain and our trials to show how great he is and you know i was i was watching a speaker this week talking about you know the speaker phone the megaphone of hope and he's saying when when we're going through our struggles in our lives we're going through the pain the turmoil all the all the trials that we're going through in our lives that's when god's glory and love can be shown the most is because when we're in the slums in in in the i
mean we're our lives aren't going that great if we are still steadfast with our faith if we are still showing god's love to all of our peers all of our friends all of our family that's a testament to god alone and you know we're going through crap and then we're still shining through god i mean that god can use that in so many crazy ways did you say megaphone of hope yeah what is that uh it's louis giglio louis giglio excuse me um that's one of his things is he's talking about when when we're going through so much suffering what we choose to shine on what we choose to to show in our suffering that speaks louder to people than normally just our everyday stuff but he called it the megaphone of hope it's it's a two two part thing uh jesus the anchor of hope when it says in hebrews i believe it was that jesus is the anchor of hope and then he goes does the bible say that jesus is a megaphone of hope no the megaphone was his thing the anchor of hope was in hebrews megaphone was his thing it was the second part i can't tell you how much i dislike the phrase megaphone that's fine you don't have to like it in any way i wouldn't recommend watching it then but i'm really disappointed a condensed microphone of hope i'm just really i i presser yeah i'm just really disappointed that someone used something like that it sounds real cheesy i would know what do you mean so cheesy isn't necessarily always a bad thing well i actually that's that's that's not true that's the word cheesy would not exist in the connotation it does if it wasn't bad some cheesy things are like oh
that's weird cheesy no no no no no no no you said weird if it was bad you would have said just cheesy if i look at some cheesy stuff i like it do you love the phrase megaphone of hope yes i do i love it absolutely i like it too i know what i'm getting in troy for christmas really you can get me a megaphone it says megaphone of hope i'll just get a megaphone you gotta make it full of hope if i bought you a sermon series called megaphone of hope would you at least look at it it's not a sermon series it's just one thing he does i just could get him a megaphone we have a hard time keeping a conversation rolling because you're trying to go right but i'm trying to move it on to a different thing i'm not disagreeing that megaphone of hope is a thing that he does it's i've got that established i can't wait until troy gets a megaphone in his hand he won't get one the megaphone of myself the hope has blasted soul to soul way throughout the world then i'm gonna get a physical megaphone it's not the megaphone it's the megaphone of troy it floats on rainbows and wishes i thought one of those magic radio microphones that's awesome it hooks up to the radio local fm station will that work yeah it's not a megaphone but it's a oh that's cool i'm gonna go get myself a megaphone why i'm gonna bring it why so we can get on his uh soapbox so i'm gonna spite you for jesus i just don't understand no it's not gonna be the megaphone of hope it's just gonna be a megaphone i'm saying i wish he wouldn't he can use that at our new uh porky's location exactly
it'll be my megaphone when you're preaching to three people with no funding are you saying three aren't worth it yeah jesus said go after the one we got three uh 99 back we've tripled you just you just lost 600 that stopped going to your other church because your poor financial ruins why would they care because you're spending the lord's money in a careless disdained manner i don't think dan's gonna rush into this without actually like yeah dan's not gonna do anything dan's gonna talk about this bar for two months and then it's gonna slip his mind and then someone's gonna buy it maybe a month six months later he's gonna go oh someone bought that bar that's exactly what's gonna happen now that might happen that might be actually be pretty accurate we were gonna buy that place this hurts i can't believe what happens i'm gonna call them tomorrow i'm saying i appreciate it for i i i beg of you borrow troy's megaphone yeah you can you can borrow my megaphone i'm free tomorrow let's go take a look at this i'm gonna be here for the whole there'll be a break yeah please bring in more people please start a committee of some are you saying people on the east side don't need jesus i'm saying you need people to curb your ideas why i'm saying we get to the decent lease price please consult with others if we get it for 1500 a month no it's terrible terrible idea why he's doing it just let it die i need i need to know why you think it's that bad yeah well i need substance i need a megaphone we need the megaphone okay that's not working there's a lot
of stuff in the way there's a lot of stuff in the way in a congregation i have a direct line of sight between me and the preacher like columns and stuff like that in the way there's a lot of stuff in the way in there uh you walk around on space you limited you you're just limiting yourself you need a place to grow into you need multiple services looks like you want to grow it's like buying a 1998 mercedes with cash while you're driving your family of 700 people around in a 88 chrysler minivan that's that's what it's like that's a terrible example but hey no it's it's dead on example you're buying a fancy new rig that will not hold your current family uh while your other family is trolling around in an old station wagon that is overcrowded with chili on the floor you need something you can grow into say we have a 15 passenger van don't we i'm calling tomorrow yeah obviously nothing just to get the nursery we could have in that place that'd be the nursery 4 000 square feet how many kids you want to be this nursery we're out of space everywhere four times the size of my house square feet is not a very big arena it's four times the size of my place is in the gym i bet you lose a thousand square feet to utilities and bathrooms yeah it's possible plenty of places for people to take a bathroom break good call this is just a campus that's almost too small this is just a saturday camp it's a whole different type of venue and and a concert venue as well yeah and he plays for youth group and a hot dog eatery
this place has got to make money and a place it'll make sure to stay at 4 o'clock in the morning when it's almost time for church now this is something that needs to make a return on well yeah yeah it'll make it it'll break even that's all we need to do yeah we just need to break even we'll take offerings saturday campus we'll take offerings uh we'll sell i will get behind hot dogs during the week i will get behind porky's if porky's is out there to fundraise the shell for the the congregate it all goes in the same pot yeah that's the beauty of the multi-campus it's all jesus one pot pot of honey everyone loves honey except for mike mike likes rhubarb and salt except for the people eating the salt tack back at your home base yeah i hope you enjoy your new building you're you're you're missing the point that it's one church many locations not a us and there yeah not a how come they get this and we get that that's what that's exactly what that's exactly what they're gonna have to wait i know that's what you're taking but you're taking money from the from these people to furnish a harebrained scheme on the east side to service three people this is a situation where i would really appreciate a sleight of hand so what you need to do is get get our attention at least michael and i's attention to something else so that maybe this porky's thing would have a possibility of surviving but we definitely need something else to look at like you guys see my megaphone guys we're gonna yeah like a megaphone whoo a megaphone of hope
yeah whatever you want this is the best day ever our whole philosophy is not to build huge multi-million dollar buildings and fancy glitzy things why don't you start with one building that can facilitate your current congregation oh yeah i was gonna say let's go let's let's do that let's get one we have we have before you expand to a multi undersized campus yeah let's try to keep the electric you've already lost the vision yeah you don't have a vision you're buying an undersized building for your for your offshoot campus when you can't house your first campus true but it's housed we need more space yeah that means it's not how your kids are quarantined in an un HVAC hallway that was awesome 400 feet up your your kid your junior worship is participating in his gym with a paper-thin partition between it and the service so during communion when you're reflecting on the death of your of your savior the kids are going jesus rocks jesus rocks rocks rocks i like that song by the way there's nothing wrong with that there's nothing wrong with okay you're saying jesus doesn't rock i got i got this we're gonna do we need both yeah okay guess what you're missing mike we're gonna get both i guess we need both i haven't even brought up the senior citizen campuses that could be starting friday at 5 30 we're going through a a uh a community we'll be starting a campus in a senior area pretty soon i'm gonna be there i don't see anything wrong with that we're old people yeah tell you what it'll be free
yeah it's financially responsible you hit up the right side of town that's stewarding the lord's won't swing this whole porkies thing i've got i mean i must have asked the name of it i don't know i don't know whatever information anyway who is alive for the day my mom's birthday's tomorrow phone said so his mom passed away he still has a reminder on his phone i still have her phone number he still has her phone oh i couldn't do it i can still call your dad not to change the subject i couldn't do it why because i kept calling him like i know but it's like i kept calling my dad and i would literally get his voicemail and then when trey changed it i flipped on him i flipped the day that i called because i used to call my dad every once in a while just to hear his voice just because it was awesome so is this still go to troy does he have that phone active still no we closed that phone down a long time ago and then my mom's phone calls you who i don't think i bet he gets calls all the time not this time of night all right all right you're listening to life in the past we need a helicopter we do need a helicopter and a megaphone we should get a boat too i'm on board with a helicopter i like where this is going we have a pilot i like where this is going we can you can fly me from campus to campus yeah we can do that for teardown and if we had a megaphone she summarized it that's what your ridiculous team sounds like that's exactly what it sounds like i think it makes sense here it is like get you a megaphone and a helicopter
and you just hover above a mass of people and they can all get you can use the megaphone of hope you don't need you need to worry about enclosing them megaphone of hope helicopter of jesus over the field these are all solid ideas are we writing these down yeah porkies have a helipad hey you know i tell you what i tell you what foost of an oestrian you put god in a box and you try to lock him in we'll see if he likes it you throw god in an air balloon and go look at jesus i made him fly he wants me everywhere he'll do he'll do what he wants to do if he wants a bar he's gonna get it here's here's here's all you don't do is you don't shut down the opportunity you say hey maybe christ wants a bar and if he does the money will show up and the people will show up and if he doesn't neither will happen but what you don't do is you say you know what god you don't want a bar i'm and i'm gonna say no i'm not comfortable in my current location therefore the east siders can go to hell i'm pretty concerned i don't care what you want to do but i'm concerned about what these other people over here that are not you that are going to be upset about you have opportunity to go in the box you have you have opportunity to grow in your current location and you refuse to do that so who's choosing what group of people no yeah yeah no you're right the one person that you could serve in this town if you just buy a building to house them and you want to move the operation in an expensive across town to do it
and we need a helipad we're doing both well show me plans for both yeah we have plans for both yeah we're looking at there's there's all there's buildings on the market that we're scoping out i i am totally on board with the bar idea if you have a base of operations you cannot house a congregation in there we're not no we can't house our current congregation we'll never have a place to house everybody we're gonna be spread out they don't even want campus this is a sidebar thing this is a sidebar thing that costs how much five hundred thousand dollars yeah okay all right it's a drop of the hat to jesus who owns all the cattle on all this is a serious this porgy's idea is a serious misallocation we can repel down to the philistines administer to them all right you've been listening live from the past i tell you what uh so me and dad are continuing on this campus thought mike's gonna raise money for a crystal cathedral so we can put that together yeah gabe's on the helicopter if i could just get a big place that tries on the megaphone reports to jesus because there's lots of lights and cool windows in it okay i'm sorry i'm sorry i don't want to go to the enron church where if everything's okay at the top the minions can fend for themselves with or without health insurance or accessible building areas as long as it could fit a million people that's for me and they're going to be crystal i have multiple campuses so my business looks gigantic i want a big chandelier yeah yeah jesus likes pretty things and as long as we're
making people happy that means jesus loves them you've been listening live from the past random amounts of money i have a one-rate schemes not run by through any biblical council only between two ego massaging boys who like to go good idea good idea good idea good idea that's an awesome idea i i'm getting better who are incidentally paid clergy i i reject the assertion that it has not gone through solid biblical council you have been listening live from the path we may or may not see you next week have a wonderful
