Topics covered

  • Double J's studio visit — Double J's in-studio appearance: his Genesis Tour, the 'Limitless' album and other records, and the J4J (Just for Jesus) movement and 'I Am Significant' slogan, plus the performances of 'Memory' and 'Energy.' ≈ 3:56
  • Critique of Christian media — The hosts' review of Focus on the Family's 'Journey Like Christ' video — what they found hokey, their scriptural pushback on the Red Sea claim, and their invitation for the video's makers to come defend it. ≈ 28:21
  • Secular vs. Solomon game — The show's recurring game pitting Secular (the world's proverbs) against Solomon (biblical wisdom) — this week with three Ecclesiastes proverbs as the cited verses, plus a long knock-knock-joke tangent. ≈ 1:06:50
  • Dear LFTP advice letters — The Dear LFTP mailbag: four letters answered on-air — the sister who wants to move in, the 15-year-old on parents having another baby, the son in jail at holiday-letter time, and the memory-care nicknames — each paired with the 'secular answer.' ≈ 1:25:16
  • Family responsibility and boundaries — Cross-cutting family theme across the letters: caring for relatives without enabling, parental authority, honesty in family communication, and honoring a parent with dementia. ≈ 1:25:16
  • Assurance of salvation — The episode's marquee question — how a believer can know they are saved — worked through via Matthew 7's 'Lord, Lord' warning and the fruit of the Spirit: fruit vs. feelings, obedience, comparison, and grace. ≈ 1:52:25
  • Show business and promos — The business of the show itself: the open, promos for the Monday airtime and archives, the Christmas commercial parody, and the closing fundraiser and next-week preview. ≈ 0:08
  • Comedy and improvisation — The episode's comedy fabric: the freestyle rap, the 'pizza buffet' and 'like the wind' running jokes, the hunting story, and the banter around Double J's songs. ≈ 21:10

Segments

  • Show open: Ben's intro, Ed Sullivan bit, lineup preview 0:08–3:56
The host opens from the Pathway Studios in Johnston, introducing himself as Ben Fust (transcript renders 'Ben Foose'), then does an Ed Sullivan impression to welcome viewers in Colorado and 'bigger than ever' crowd. He previews tonight's show: Double J in the studio, the question 'How do I know if I'm saved?', a new edition of Secular vs. Solomon, a Focus on the Family video the hosts found disappointing, and a song about the Bible. A host asks the audience to text in where they are watching from.
  • Double J interview: Genesis Tour, albums, first-date banter 3:56–15:55
Double J joins the hosts in the studio and catches them up: a Genesis Tour with Saved on Sunday through Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and Iowa; the new album 'Limitless' (plus 'Generation of War' and the 'Breakaway Project' anniversary re-recording); his plans to keep recording as he goes. The hosts crack jokes about his first date (Cheesecake Factory, bowling), his posse of Michael Tate and 'Taco John', and his role as roaming correspondent at the Newsboys show at the Indianola Community Church.
  • Double J's 'Memory' performance 15:55–21:10
Double J introduces 'Memory,' a new cut from his upcoming album, explaining its premise: everyone carries memories they wish they could do over. The hosts play the full song, a mid-tempo piece about regret. Afterward Double J reflects that the song's style is unlike his earlier rap-leaning work and says that is okay — the next era is the 'limitless era.'
  • Post-song banter: 'like the wind,' pizza buffet, Skyline Studios 21:10–28:21
The hosts riff after the song: Double J explains the track's R&B-leaning arrangement (he jokes about 'Clyde Drexler glasses'), and they spin the running joke of an upbeat freestyle rap ending in the ad-lib 'like the wind.' A host pitches 'pizza buffet' as a song concept — the phrase becomes the episode's recurring joke. Double J talks about the 'Limitless' album, the next two records, and why he chose not to leave a studio for his own — 'the Lord works in our weaknesses.' A listener asks where he records; he names Skyline Studios off Merle Hay.
  • Focus on the Family 'Journey Like Christ' video review 28:21–36:30
A host reviews a Focus on the Family video he borrowed from the Ministry Center — 'Journey Like Christ,' from the team that made 'The Truth Project.' The hosts are unimpressed, especially by the host's delivery, which they compare to a slow-motion sports montage. They critique the video's claim that the Israelites could have crossed the Red Sea 'like in a day' (countering with the Egyptians' chariots), and laugh through a reenactment of Saul's Damascus-road encounter ('Saul, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?'). They invite local listeners — including Dale Taggart of the Truth Project team — to come on the show and defend the video.
  • Chat-requested freestyle and beatbox bit 36:30–38:22
A chat listener asks Double J to freestyle. After a back-and-forth about whether he's ever done one on the show, he performs a short improvised rap, with the hosts riffing behind him ('like the wind,' 'like a boss'). The hosts keep the bit rolling with more bars about Double J rapping on the spot.
  • Tour logistics, Saved on Sunday tent, Troy joins 38:22–39:46
Double J gives details on the Genesis Tour with Saved on Sunday — the routing, an outdoor 'tent' show at the Indiana Community Church, and that band member Daniel Brown does the tour announcements. Troy drops in from chat ('Troy is from the house!') and the hosts banter with him about Double J's dancing.
  • J4J (Just for Jesus) project and 'I Am Significant' 39:48–46:35
Double J lays out the J4J — 'Just for Jesus' — project: a lifestyle movement rather than a brand, where people adopt the cause, spread the music and the message, and mission groups can raise money for trips through it. He shows off t-shirt designs, including the slogan 'I Am Significant,' and explains the distinction he draws: 'There's a difference between being significant and being known.' The hosts discuss the project alongside a joke about John the Baptist 'losing his head' over missions work, and Double J recalls discovering Dance Dance Revolution via church youth-group games.
  • Plugs: Monday show, YouTube channel, blip.tv archive, merch 46:35–48:57
The hosts promote the show: it now airs Monday nights at 8:30pm Central, 'live from the path' from the Pathway Studios in Johnston. They push the YouTube channel (every episode since #1 is there), the blip.tv archive, and merchandise — mugs, wristbands, and T-shirts including the 'Call Me Diesel' line — and ask listeners to send in their prayer requests.
  • Double J's 'Energy' performance 48:58–55:03
Double J introduces 'Energy,' a song about addiction and dependency in which every verse cycles through names — he counted about 105 energy-drink references. The hosts play the full track: a fast, percussive rap cataloging caffeine brands against the hook that 'we are tired of the energy from drinking caffeine all day.'
  • 'Energy' discussion and the 105-name challenge 55:04–57:59
After the song, Double J explains the writing process: he listed the drinks, picked one per verse, and even ran a contest where a chat listener named two brands that made the record. The hosts invite listeners to verify his claim of 105 distinct energy-drink names — email [email protected] if you think you caught all 105 — and point to the J4JTV YouTube channel for the song's 2011 video.
  • Christmas commercial parody bit 57:59–1:01:56
A mock Christmas album commercial plays: a deep-voiced announcer sells a fake holiday release — 'The Christmas albums you need this Christmas' — with off-key sung snippets of 'Baby It's Cold Outside,' 'O Holy Night,' 'All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth,' 'Jingle Bell Rock,' 'Carol of the Bells,' 'A Holly Jolly Christmas,' 'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,' 'Santa Baby,' and 'Away in a Manger' (pronounced 'away in a manager'). The ad is for the joke label 'Big Donkey Incorporated,' and the hosts close it with an 'It's a Wonderful Life' quote-along before returning to the show.
  • Deer hunting story and segue to the game 1:01:57–1:06:50
A host recounts a recent deer-hunting trip: he climbed into a blind a friend had prepared, and an eight-point buck he had been watching wandered within 15–20 yards — too close for comfort with a bow. The story (with a quip about 'shooting guns in Wyoming') closes out the banter block and the hosts transition into Secular vs. Solomon.
  • Secular vs. Solomon game 1:06:50–1:25:14
The full Secular vs. Solomon game: Secular (the world) reads a proverb and Solomon's camp must answer with a biblical saying — Ecclesiastes 7:8 ('Better is the end of a thing than its beginning'), Ecclesiastes 7:2 ('better to go to the house of mourning'), and Ecclesiastes 7:12 ('the protection of wisdom is like the protection of money') are the three cited verses. Along the way a listener mis-cites 'the end justifies the means,' the hosts get sidetracked by a long knock-knock-joke run (interrupting cow, 'water you doing'), and Troy argues over whether the answer counts before Solomon wins the final round.
  • Dear LFTP intro + letter: younger sister wants to move in 1:25:16–1:26:13
The hosts open the Dear LFTP mailbag with the 'deer / dear' joke ('We have some deer… needing big help'). The reader reads the first letter: a woman's younger sister Nicole — 22, in trouble, has been homeless and in and out of counseling — now wants to move in with her. The writer fears it would wreck her own health and her family, and asks what she should do.
  • Letter 1 discussion: guilt, 1 Timothy 5:8, brother's keeper 1:26:15–1:40:54
The hosts counsel the woman whose sister wants to move in. A host reads 1 Timothy 5:8 — 'if anyone does not provide for his relatives, he has denied the faith' — and they unpack what 'provide' means when the person is unstable: boundaries, not enabling; counseling over housing; a deadline, not an open-ended commitment. They weigh guilt against responsibility ('not your brother's keeper vs. love your brother'), and read the secular answer, which advises against the move-in with firm short-term boundaries. Mike and the hosts stress care without control, and that helping may mean outside help, not a spare room.
  • Dear LFTP letter: 15-year-old on parents having another baby 1:40:56–1:42:35
The reader reads the second letter: a 15-year-old writes that his parents have decided — without asking anyone — to have another baby, though his mother has health problems and he has had to grow up fast. He asks whether parents should talk to their existing children about such a decision, and whether he is wrong to feel it is unfair. The hosts answer that the decision belongs to the parents, that God gives the baby, and that it is normal to feel unsettled — but that jealousy and resentment are traps, and the letter-writer's real work is trusting God's plan for his family.
  • Brother's-keeper debate resumed; Trey and Anne story 1:42:35–1:44:15
Back on the first letter's thread, the hosts keep debating 'brother's keeper' — one host argues keeping them doesn't mean keeping them in your house, another counters that provision can still mean housing. They tell the story of Trey and Anne, who took someone in — and note that even that couple was worn out by the arrangement, which they take as confirmation that boundaries matter. The segment closes with a joke about a coming Focus on the Family DVD.
  • Dear LFTP letter: holiday letter and son Dexter in jail 1:44:16–1:48:32
The reader reads the third letter: every year the writers send a holiday letter highlighting family events; this year their son Dexter is in jail with a drug problem, and they wonder whether to mention him — and whether mentioning him means lying about how he is doing. The hosts advise honesty without detail: say he is incarcerated, ask for prayer, and keep the focus on hope rather than a glossy story. They read the secular answer, which recommends being truthful and brief, and debate whether 'it's the holidays' is ever a reason to gloss over truth.
  • Dear LFTP letter: memory-care mom and staff nicknames 1:48:32–1:52:24
The reader reads the fourth letter: the writer's mother, in memory care with advancing Alzheimer's, is being called 'granny,' 'grandma,' and even 'mama' by staff, though she never went by those names — she was 'Mimi' to the grandkids. The writer worries about correcting the staff without seeming rude. The hosts side strongly with the family: ask staff to use her real name, model the correction kindly, and escalate to the facility director if needed — but don't let an outsider rename your mother. They read the secular answer, which advises a direct, respectful request to the care team.
  • 'How do I know if I'm saved?' discussion 1:52:25–2:03:02
The hosts take up the episode's marquee question, prompted by a listener disturbed by a Pastor Bruce-or-Chuck CD that quoted Matthew 7:21–23 ('Lord, Lord… I never knew you') in a way that felt like circular reasoning. They walk through the texts together: the tree known by its fruit (Matthew 7:16), the danger of performance-based assurance, whether an emotional 'warm fuzzy' relationship with God is required, and obedience as evidence of love rather than its price. The discussion covers fruit vs. feelings, comparison among believers, grace vs. technicality — 'we're not saved by the technicalities' — and closes with the proverb 'iron sharpens iron,' crediting the night's group growth to the conversation itself.
  • Wrap-up: Saved on Sunday fundraiser, Kevin Lindgren next week 2:03:04–2:04:00
The hosts wrap up: they thank Double J for coming in and remind listeners that Saved on Sunday is playing a fundraiser for their acoustic album at Eagle Vision Church on the south side of Des Moines on the 16th. Next week Kevin Lindgren returns from Lamoni with stories from the studio. The show signs off with thanks to the chat room and a good-night.

Live from the Pathway Studios in Johnston proper, you are live from the Path. My name is Ben Foose. How's everybody doing tonight? Awesome. Oh man, there's all kinds of stuff going on tonight, fellas. Double J's in the studio. Double J! Dan's in the studio. Look at the picture. Man, why is it just cut out like that? Them's the rocks. It's not a smooth fade at all. That's how life gets lived. Hey, you're listening to Live from the Path. Thanks so much for joining us tonight. Boy, we have a big show, a really big show going on tonight. Is that too old? Is that too old? Nah, it's getting there. How long past Ed Sullivan's death can you still do Ed Sullivan's impressions and have people get it? I would say if your family was not great in the parenting department, let you watch a lot of TV, you could probably get two generations out. I was a little surprised you guys knew who Ed Sullivan was. He was before my time. I have no idea who he is. No, Ed Sullivan? No, I did. Really big shoe. Then they had the Beatles on? The Beatles. He said it funny. I don't remember anybody saying the Beatles. That was Jesus, the Beatitudes. I think that's right. The whole damn thing. All right. Yeah. All right, anyway. Anyway. The Beatles. Stop doing that. Sounds like you've got the sickness. All right. Hey, tons of stuff going on tonight.

So Double J's in the studio. We're going to hear a couple cuts from him. I'm excited. It's going to be a sweet direction. Yes. Yeah. It's going to be awesome. Okay, sweet. It's a lot of pressure. We're going to try to answer the question, how do I know if I'm saved? This came up, and I'll give you a little background to it when we get there. But I was at a – we were on vacation last weekend, so I checked out a church while I was in Colorado. And the guy was giving away some CDs, so I picked up some CDs, and I listened to one. And he was trying to answer, how do I know if I'm saved? I don't know. I had a little trouble getting on board with the way that he was describing. It was biblical, but it wasn't helpful. Did it have anything to do with, like, bubbles? No. What? No. No, it's not. Beattles. Damn. I can't do it. We're also going to do – It was my CD. We're going to do a secular versus – secular versus Solomon. Make sure you hang out for that. It's the Internet's fastest-growing game show. That's where I give you a proverb. You tell me whether it is secular or from Solomon or from the Bible. You know, we are going to talk about my latest disappointment in Focus on the Family. Oh, the latest? I didn't realize you were disappointed. Oh, I have a long line of disappointments, and this week did not help. Uh-oh. I watched a video that was produced by Focus on the Family, and I got about eight, ten minutes into it, and I was so disappointed that I chucked it. Really? Really disappointed. I've always thought they were pretty solid. Me too.

Yeah. Well, I guess we'll have to see where we come out of this. Honestly, that's about 20 years ago, though. I honestly haven't done much Focus on the Family in the recent years. I'm going to tell you what I didn't like about it, and you tell me if this sounds piblically relevant, because I think it was – I don't know. I thought it was shameful, a waste of perfectly good – in fact, it was a movie that we got from the Ministry Center. It was sitting out. My wife grabbed it, and we thought it looked interesting, and then we watched about eight minutes of it, and I thought, you know, I'd rather have just been reading my Bible. This is terrible. It was really bad. Okay. All right. Well, brilliant. I guess we'll see how that goes. Hey, let's catch up with Double J. Double J, it's good to see you. It's good to see you guys, too. Thanks for coming back in the live – in the Pathway Studios. I had to. So you did. I did. My bus pass only takes me here. Actually, I wasn't going to say it, but he's been sleeping outside our studio. It was true. It was the last few months until we went back on the show. Pick it and have a sign. Occupy life in the path. It's true. He took on a possum-like characteristics. Hey, wait. Which is the one that's North America, the possum or the old possum? What? Possum. Right? Google it. There's a possum, and then there's a possum. Google it. I think one of them is from Australia only,

and then one of them is in North America. They'd say it wrong. That's a kangaroo. A possum? I don't know what truth there is here. I'm going to look into this. Go ahead. Go about it. Oi, you possum. Okay. Here we go. All right. Double J, what's been going on with life since we've seen you last? A ton. A ton's been going on. Man, just preparing for a humongous year next year. Oh, hey. Mike's not close. I'm not there. Just pretty much preparing for a huge year next year. This year's kind of closing out, so I'm kind of readjusting my focus to January when I go on tour with Saved on Sunday, the Genesis Tour down to Texas. We'll be stopping all the way there in states like Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and Iowa. So it's going to be a huge two months for us. Do you have a big bus? We have a van. Small trailer? Yes. Yes. Is everybody riding in the same van? Yes. Oh, man. It's going to be fantastic. And how many people? Four. Four dudes? Yep. Four sweaty dudes? How big of a van? It's a pretty good van. Four sticky, dirty dudes? It's a pretty good-sized van.

So you have, like, space. We have space. You can go and hide. Yes. And the dates are all, like, is there a website or anything? People can see the dates? I'm not sure yet. Do you have a website? I don't have a website yet. Can you get a website together? I'm working on it, all right? That's something in the plan next year as well. I have a lot of investments. I've got to make. Come on. Give me some time. I feel like a man that can wear a white watch like that can come up with a website. That's just what I'm thinking. I appreciate the watch, Kyle. But, no, besides that, next year we're looking at just a ton of moving forward. I'm releasing my second album next year called Limitless, as well as my fifth-year anniversary of my first album, The Breakaway Project. So that's coming out next year as well, plus a few more t-shirts, including the first official J4J t-shirt. I'm excited for it. So let's talk about these albums real quick. All right. Would you say there's a distinct difference between your last album, the Generation of War album, and this one that's coming up? Oh, definitely. The last album was more of, it's kind of hard to describe. It was actually more hip-hop based. This one is branching out a little bit in a direction that I can't really pinpoint. But it's more headed toward the pop, rock kind of direction. You'll hear it later. But it's just different. It's just different than what I've done before. I'm excited about it. Different direction. I'm a little hesitant to hear what you have going on now, because usually when my wife doesn't like the way that I've combed my hair, she says, it's different. I say, what do you think? What do you think, hon? That's different.

That's different. And then I'm like, well, that doesn't sound like a positive. That's not a compliment. An endorsement, by any means. Well, he's going to have the opportunity to handle your skepticism. I will flow right you're going to do it. I'm going to do it. Yeah. Yeah. We're going to hear Memory from the upcoming album. Okay, good. I'm excited. Song Memory. I'm going to do background breathing. Like beatbox? No, no. Like a… Is that supposed to be in there? I don't know. Just like that. Because I have apnea. I have sleep apnea. So do you have a copy of your CD on your wall somewhere? I don't have a copy of my CD on my wall. Would you like us to buy one for you? You want to buy a copy of my CD and put it on my wall? Dan, this is why we don't have any money. Seriously, stop investing our money. Incidentally, just as a quick side note, Ben was right. The possum refers to the Australian variety. The opossum is everywhere else. Oh. Oh. Oh. Good to know. Oh, yeah. If you're a dorkus. Most of us have been incorrect most of our lives. Yeah. Yeah. Everybody was fine, actually, in their ignorance until Ben brought it up. I think it's the Beverly Hillbillies that really kind of set it home for me. Hey, man. Hey, man.

The chat says you need to have double J in every week to increase your rating. What? That says something very poorly about our program. Who said that? I'm not willing to say. All right, sounds good. Somebody who knows a thing or two. Somebody who's seen the show before. Oh, man. What if we buy a CD and put it on the wall about right back there? Then I would let you buy my CD and put it on the wall. You guys? You have the special wall mount edition? It's on sale now. Christmas. So what about the – I'm practicing. What about the first album? So you'll have three span albums, right? Two. I have one this year. What's the one from five years ago? Okay. 2007 was when I first really released my first album. It wasn't totally professional quality, but it was considered my first. It was called The Breakaway Project. It had nine tracks. It was decent for the time, but next year, I'm coming up on five years since then. Uh-huh. Yeah. And for me, that's a milestone that I've been in this for five years. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to re-release the nine tracks off that album. Then I'm going to go back and take five of them and get new beats, new everything, and then redo the songs like I would do them now. Oh, sweet. So it's the same concept, same general idea, but I'm taking them and I'm revamping them how I would do the songs today with my new style and how I've developed and evolved. So it's going to be a 14-track album. So it's hopefully going to be coming out by the Christmas season next year. I know it's a long way out, but that's kind of the plan. So you're like already a classic band who's coming out again. Kind of. Actually, it's akin to taking a picture of your old man from the 70s and then putting like new clothes on with the same hairstyle. The reason for it is the Breakway Project only released 200 copies.

So there wasn't a lot of people who heard it. So the plan is to expand the horizon of who's heard it so they can hear what I sounded like back in the day compared to now. I think that's pretty cool. It's like a time cap. It's an audio time cap so you can take a look and see how it evolved, but even see like pieces of the past turned into something you can really dig on. And actually, you know, people do that a lot, right? They'll catch on to a band and then they'll be like, yeah, I really dig on his earlier stuff, you know, not the commercialized stuff, the stuff that no one else knows about, which Double J's bringing to the front. He's like, I want everybody to dig on it. Before he was two J's, he did the following. Right, single J. Yeah. I was just a J. Congratulations on your engagement. I'm not engaged. Thank you. I appreciate it. I feel like I heard that rumor somewhere. I feel like you started it. I think so. Okay. Sorry. How are things going? I mean, is there a lady on the horizon or anything? I don't know. You don't know? I don't know. I sure hope not. Don't throw these curveballs at me. That's the most odin romantic thing I've ever heard. Oh my God. I hope she likes a van. Yeah, she doesn't really care. She's going to slap you on the chest. Probably. I don't know. I don't know. Get off my back, man. We spent the best 12 minutes at the Arby's together. Brother, I remember. Let me ask you this.

Okay. So you had a lady. You have a lady in the dock. And you're going to take her out. Okay. Where do you take her? Oh, man. She's on deck. She's waiting for you. It's like first date kind of thing. Yeah. Wait a minute. Did she call him or did he call her? Oh, dude. Me calling her at all. Okay. You called her. Okay. That's fine. That's fine. It should never be the other way around. Okay. You called her. Yes. She wasn't working at the Arby's. No. Hopefully not. All right. So you've talked over the phone. She's perused your Facebook page or whatever. All right. She's seen your generation at war. All right. She's YouTube posting from the show. And then she says, I want to get to know him more. You're going to take her out. Where are you going to take her? Oh, man. It's a hard one. You know, I'm a big fan of the Cheesecake Factory. I'm a big fan of that place. Cheesecake Factory. And probably bowling or something like that. Something where you can, you know, be active.

Movies are too blah. You don't really get to know somebody in a movie. Movies are for later. So I'm thinking like bowling. When you don't like each other, you go to a movie. Yeah. There's nothing left to say. Let's go to a movie. It's true. It's true. All right. Yeah. That's how I will. Now, you're paying? You're paying for the whole Cheesecake Factory? Oh, duh. Of course. I mean, appetizer, dessert, the whole shebang? Everything. The whole night's on me, bro. The CD's selling well. Yeah, you're probably at $70, $80 when you get out of that Cheesecake Factory. Whatever. Whatever. Damn. WJ's got some money. Sorry, hon. You can't have an appetizer. I said you can do whatever you want at the KFC. Nice. That didn't go as well. Sky's the limit, baby. I brought the appetizer in my own bag here. I hope you don't mind. I brought some chicken wings from the… I brought the kids' juice boxes. This ought to save them, okay? He stopped at KFC before he came here. Wait, are you any good at bowling? No. I'm terrible at it. You're terrible at bowling? Yeah, I refuse bumpers, though. I'll be okay with 65 points.

It's all right. And you're going to take someone on a date? Well, now, I think that's the way to go. I think it's a good opportunity for you to open up about yourself. So they feel sorry for him. Well, you know, he's a friend. Look at him. Look at him. You don't want to show off on the first date, though. Yeah, really. If you throw… You don't want to do that. Every time you throw a ball, it's a strike, and you're like, whiz-bang, take that, baby. I mean, that's not good. You need to have fun while failing. It's perfect. I agree. Yeah. I mean, you don't need to be pathetic, but you don't need to be a guy who takes his date to the batting cage so he can grunt. Oh, I'd be like me. Stand over there, baby. I'd be like, hey, you want to go on a date? I'll take you out eating into my concert. It just doesn't make any sense. I do really cool things. Check me out. Yeah, look at me. Look what I can do. My wife had a guy take her on a date once, before we were married, obviously, and to the races. She's like, she's not a race car person. She's like, okay, I'll go to the races. I'll experience this. So they get there, and he's like, oh, wait, here. He was like in the pit crew. Oh. So he left her in the stands and went down and worked. She's like, what kind of date is this? I don't think it lasted. I think I had to divulge that information before we got there. Oh, by the way, I'm in the pit crew. Yeah. I won't be with you.

He could have at least taken her with him, like, come check it out from the tracks. You know, that's cool. But like, hey, wait in the stands while I go down to the pit. But that's not cool at all. Stay here with my good friends. All right. You're listening live from The Path. We're in studio with Double J. Boy, lots of stuff going on next year. It's going to be a wild year. Yep. You better tell that lady you're going to be out of town. Oh, I know. You've got stuff going on, man. Double J might be coming to help us out at the Newsboys show. Yes. Yeah. Oh, man. I think he's in for a roaming course. So we're going to be broadcasting from the Newsboys be in town at the latter half of March. And they're going to be at Indian Old Community Church performing with three other bands. And we'll be broadcasting live from that show and be interviewing the Newsboys and the other bands and stuff. And I think Double J's in. If he's in town, he's in my bag. He's going to be a roaming correspondent. I'll bust around for Michael Tate. What's up, man? Do we bring the… Is that why we're not here? We don't do this here? Does Tate do that? Does he have a microphone? Hey, man. Hey, seriously. I'm going to stop doing that. Did I get it all? No, I don't. No, fine. Hurt my feelings. Hurt my feelings, yeah. Hurt my feelings. I'm not going to dust my shirt anymore tonight. We don't do cool things around here. You're going to have to help us out.

I've never once thought, what do you think of this, fellas? What's up? What's up? Is this cool? Actually, I'm glad that we found that out now because like three weeks later. Because Double J is a pretty cool cat. So we're going to be like, man, we should do stuff like he does because he's cool. So you're just going to find us walking around. We'll be studying the videos. Hey, fellas, what's happening? You're going to be planking the newsboy stuff. Drinking Noss. How do you like my new white watch? Hey, hey. We should wear the same stuff Double J's got onto the newsboy show. I'm going to find one. We'll all wear the exact same crap. He'll sell three t-shirts right off the bat. Product placement. All right. So let's talk about memory. This is a cut that's coming off from the new CD. Tell me a little bit about it. Memory was written because, okay. Sorry, Mike. But like everybody, I'm pretty sure, everyone who's listening has at one point in their life wanted to change something about their past. Like everyone has a day in their past that they're like, hmm, if I can go back, I would do that day differently or do that series of days differently or make this decision different. And the reason I wrote this song is from my perspective of if I could go back to two specific dates, what I would do differently or what I would tell myself. But it kind of wraps around to understanding that you can't change the past and you have to understand that the choices we make today really do affect our history. So we need to really think about what we're pursuing right now because what we're pursuing now is going to affect our lives years down the road. Because I have made decisions back in 2003 that are affecting me today. That's the premise of the song. It's just about understanding that the decisions you make affect who you become. Right on. All right, cool. Well, I want to hear it. This is, are you ready to fire it up? I'm ready. All right.

This is Memory from Double J. You're listening to Live from the Path. J for J. Live from the path. The limitless era, you know. You give me a time machine so I could go back to 2003. When I first got inspired when my dream first began. Gonna be in hip-hop for the wrong reasons. Man, wish I could pull myself aside. Sit me down, man to man. Look myself out of eye. Let me understand that my direction would lead to depression and the thoughts of suicide. But back then I thought it all was cool. Chillin' and actin' like the rappers do. Thought the drinkin' and the drugs and the sex and the money were all that I needed to keep my life running dang. Wish I could say just what I know now. Only where the world could lead me what's down. Wish I could detour my life's course. Switch it from my dream to the Lord. Oh, it burns like a memory in the back of my mind. I just want to go back, go back. I want to go back in time. And can you help me to change one day? And can you help me change this memory? Take this time machine and just set it to my big year of 2007. June 25th, the first day that I believe. Want to see myself getting saved there on my knees. I want to pull myself aside. Sit me down, man to man. Look myself eye to eye. Try to explain the tribulations that are coming. That I need to stand firm, not hit the ground running. That I gotta need to place my trust. Through his good grace, I will finally find my love. But I need to stay clear of liquid poison and lust. For this love that I found will firmly be crushed. Shouldn't be afraid, though it is scary. Keep my faith in God and continue to be daring. Tell me not to make the mistakes that I made. Then maybe I skip the loss of love and skip the pain. Oh, it burns like a memory in the back of my mind. I just want to go back, go back. I want to go back in time.

And can you help me to change one day? And can you help me change this memory? Now I understand that I can't change the past. Mistakes I make today through the years are gonna last. If there's one thing that I want you to know, things you do right now affect your life down the road. So sit back, think about what you were doing. Think about the people and the things you're pursuing. Try to weed out things that leave your life in ruins. Look to God in the darkness and let him start renewing. Oh, it burns like a memory in the back of my mind. I just want to go back, go back. I want to go back in time. And can you help me to change one day? And can you help me change this memory? Oh, it burns like a memory in the back of my mind. I just want to go back, go back. I want to go back in time. And can you help me to change one day? And can you help me change this memory? God, God, can you change this memory? God, God, can you change this memory? God, can you change this memory? God, God, can you change this memory? Yeah. The limitless era. Live from the past. J for J. I told you I was going to do it. All right. See, that's a memory. I like the style. Yeah, I love that. The new chorus style. I do. Yeah. That's what I was talking about. I do. You need like a high singing lady. Yeah. I think you could do that. I could do it. I could be. Hey, here's Michael Tate.

Here's the boy. Here's the deal. You don't have to do it like an orangutan. Stop cupping your hands. It's a brush, not a grab. I don't know how to do it. No, you don't. I don't know. It's a brush. It'll become natural. I wear a hat with the air conditioning and these Clyde Drexler glasses, and that's all I got. Clyde Drexler. Every cool rap song has the guy where they've taken all the bass off his voice, and he just says, like, one thing all the time. Yeah. You know what I'm talking about? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where it's just, like, old school radio sound and treble. Yeah, so here, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, like the wind. That's going to be my phrase. You're just going to be rapping on me. He's like, like the wind. Like the wind. Just like that. Yeah? I don't know, Ben. I don't know about that. Let me try it. So, now, wait a minute. Here's the thing. I was not paying attention in the first 20 minutes here. So, is that song coming out on an album? Yeah, yes. Okay. Next year. Okay, next year. It's next year. That one's early, like June, right? That will be more of probably mid to late summer. Okay. Kind of, like, in that area. Now, where do you record the album at? Well, that's, I'm probably thinking Skyline Studios down here on Merle Hay, actually. So, it's not too far from here.

That's where I did the last album at. Really good job. Nice. Do we know these guys? We should have them in. I know Skyline Chili. Skyline Chili. I think they might be offended if we say, look, we love your work. We love your chili. Do you make chili or what? Like the wind. I love the message of that song. What? It's got a windy. What? I feel it's not going to stop. Oh, oh, oh. Hey, hey, hey, everybody. I'm anxious. Have you done that live in any concerts or anything? I actually did it for the first time just this last Friday. I mean, I'd love to see people kind of respond to that. I mean, Skyline really does have a great message to it. And I'm sure there are tons of people who can identify with what you're saying that will be there that maybe, I don't know. Yeah, actually, that's pretty cool because there's a lot of songs that speak to people who don't know Jesus and how to get them there. And actually, that song spoke to me as a guy that knows Christ and like, hey, man, I'm with you on this thing. There's a lot of things you want to change. There's a lot of things you wish you'd done differently. But, you know, God's taken care of it, helped me to see it differently and called a go and let's let's move on. So it's a very inspiring tune for people who who gave their life to Christ and they're like, hey, let's you know, let's let's move on from this deal. That's kind of the whole point of the next album, the Limitless album, because each song that I'm doing, I'm expressing another limitation that the world puts on us. It's the album is basically about freeing ourselves from all the limitations of life, like our past regrets, addictions. I mean, fear. I mean, I tackle so many different subjects, being content and ways to beat those, because when we become truly limitless with God, we can go higher than the stars. We can. I mean, it's just endless what we could possibly do.

You can't really go higher than the stars. Oh, you can. No, the stars are in the video. I think you can. Have you read the tale into Job? You can't go higher than the stars. God put the stars at the highest. He said, Job, it's in the Bible. He doesn't mess with Job. It's fine. It's the Old Testament. I get what you're saying, but, like, I wouldn't want to sell false hope, you know, like that. My bad. Sorry, everybody who's watching. I didn't mean to tell you that. I'm heading up to the stars. We're not going to be astronauts, my brother. You've been listening to Live from the Path on livefromthepath.org. We're joined by Double J, which has frankly lifted the show up way past its normal criteria. I just said, yeah, definitely. I don't know what to do with it. No, no. There's nothing I'm nervous. Yeah, fair enough. I tell you what, though. So, I was out of town last week, and I have not ever had the chance to watch the show. Yeah, we talked about that. What did you think? Yeah, I thought it was good. I thought you guys did a really good job. You ignored me. I had some – I was on it. That's what the chat feels like. You ignored me. Now you know. You ignore me a lot. I was doing stuff, though. I was doing stuff. They say the same thing. No. No. They're like, hey, when are we going to meet at the Oldies? I'd like to go to the Oldies. Watermelon is 49 cents at the Oldies.

What did that guy say? Like to win. And then they – Like to win. Keep tracking people. Wow. So, I want to know, this album you've got coming out, have you already written all the songs? You just have to record them, and you're working on them? As of right now, I have about half the album written. Do you have the whole song on addiction done? No. You need a line about – something about pizza buffets in there. Pizza buffets? Just for me. I will throw in pizza buffets just for you. For me. I will try. Dan, do you want me to have your band? I can get your band. Dan, if I can make a – Is it the best thing to get your band? No. If I can make a serious song and put the word pizza buffet in there, I will do my best. And every time you sing it, or rap it – you don't really sing it. You rap it, right? I don't want to mess up the terminology here, but I want you to have an image of my face. Yeah, it'll be good. And then after I'm done rapping, I'm glad. I don't want to live this way. Pizza buffet. Yeah. Maybe on the screen in the background, you can just have my face. I'll be – so everyone can imagine it. Just like on the booklet on the inside, when I turn to the lyric sheet for that song, it'll be your face in the background. Whatever it takes to help get the message home. Actually, I think you should probably take your shirt off, and then you'll be eating for the pizza. And go. Like the wind. Pizza buffet. God, I don't want to live this way. But I can't stop it. I pulled into one today. I don't want to stay.

I couldn't help it. I would. I'm thinking to myself, man, I'm going to have a small lunch. I really need to lose weight. Hey, pizza buffet is open. It's the price of a large lunch. That was kind of a rap right there. Oh, man. Got to die. Got to lose weight. I'm writing it for you. I'm writing it for you. I want commission. It'll be a totally serious song. And then write those two lines right there. It'll just be totally pizza buffet. And then write back into it. Actually, a whole song about pizza buffet works. I just thought – actually, that does sound pretty good. It's like, hey, it's got a real low guy going, pizza buffet. Lock the wind. Lock the wind. Pizza buffet. Lock the wind. That'd be the hook. J for J. A pizza buffet. Lock the wind. We're going to produce your next album. Okay, seriously. What's this studio time cost? We need to come in here. We're coming by. We'll double it. Wait. Wait. I mean – We're going to be the bonus track number 97. And we're going to show up. No, I'll be like the last track. Wait like 15 minutes. Yeah. And have pizza buffet. Lock the wind.

I can't help but do it. Every time it says pizza buffet, I can't help but – Lock the wind. Dude, you heard Lock the wind? It's totally awesome. Pizza Lock the wind is a good song. Make a music video. I don't think they're going to let us in the studio. We just need to do this on our own. Seriously, we can pick up some really sweet endorsements by doing that. Oh, man. People who sell wind are pizza. Pizza Hut, Domino's the biggest loser. They all love us. Gone with the wind will even take us up. Be sweet. So here's the deal. I borrowed a video from the Ministry Center this week. It was from Focus on the Family. What it was, it was called like Journey Like Christ. And so basically what I thought it was was taking you to archaeological sites where like things had happened, like where they assumed the crucifixion had happened. I have some of those Focus on the Family ones. Or Paul's Road to Damascus, you know. And one of them, the first one, the very first chapter that I watched was about Elijah. And it was Elijah running up a mountain and then running back down a mountain and running up a mountain, running like 20, 20 miles or something like the wind. And so here's what disappointed me. They showed – so the guy is a total cheese ball. Here's the thing. It's like – and they did this on the Truth Project too, right? Like they talk about everything about Jesus but not Jesus. You know, like orbs and spheres and not God but orbs and spheres. And then he did this with the – this is the same operation with this video. Like he shows a picture of like this ancient Colosseum. He's like, now this isn't one that any of the disciples ever came to. But I would imagine that they would have visited ones like this. That's legit. Oh, yeah. That's real helpful. I wanted to see archaeological, biblical fact, and you show me a Colosseum that you would imagine they might have walked by. That is not helpful. Yeah, sure it is. If you want to get the – it depends on what the story is.

But, I mean – That's what the story was. Who cares if you see an Iowa State football field or the Iowa football field? Say I'm telling someone what a football field is. I can imagine – I already know what a Colosseum looks like. I don't think it's worth making a video of what it might look like if they happened to walk by one. It was totally uneffectual. And anyway, the worst part was that the sermon – So here – it was the line in – where Jesus talked to – now, hold on. Was that the angel of the Lord or was it Jesus that talked to Saul on the road to Damascus? Who was it? It was specifically Jesus, right? Jesus, yeah. Okay. So he – when he did the impression of Jesus, he made Jesus sound like some kind of whiny brat. Saul, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? And I'm like, are you serious? God does not talk like that. I always heard of us going, Saul, Saul, why are you hurting me? You know, why are you doing this to me? And that is not how he sold it. And then here's the worst part is they pan the camera and there's a girl crying. Oh, no. I'm like – That's cheesy. Honestly. And like all the camera workers of like footsteps, you know, people walking on the old rubble like you're supposed to – and the very – the second chapter was the exact same thing. Like here's a – this really has no biblical significance, but grass and fields like this are very common to the grass and fields that could be seen back in biblical times. I'm like, oh, yeah. That's extremely – that ties right in. Thank you. This is the road to Damascus. Ah, it's not quite the road to Damascus. I imagine that if this was the road to Damascus, this is what it would look like. Oh, yeah, yeah. Thanks. That really helps me out. Now, Mike, you have to admit that you – your personality is such that you don't like it unless it slaps you upside the face and tells you you're a jerk and an idiot. Now, listen. I can imagine the road to Damascus by myself. I need someone to show it to me for it to be useful. Other people don't respond to what you respond to, but they respond to the intellectual, the archaeological, and they're like –

There's nothing intellectual about it. They're saying this is what it might have looked like based on my interpretation of nothing. This is a coliseum. That's like me walking past a pitcher of water and going, you know, this could be very similar to the pitchers of water they had in biblical times. Jesus is the living water. Oh, yeah. That's real helpful, right? This could be Jesus. I mean it's a pitcher of water. It's just like that's a coliseum, and this is a field of grass. Like there's no historical biblical significance. You've just taken something that existed then and now, pointed at it, and said this is probably pretty close. Yeah, so I mean I think I do agree. Like it's kind of like there are some places where the – like the place of the holy sepulchre where they feel like Jesus was probably buried, right? Like there's a difference between going there and like finding some kind of random hole inside of a mountain going, this is very similar to how Jesus may have been buried. You know, like there's a distinction there as to whether you went the whole way with it or whether you kind of like stayed in your backyard and shot wood and air and stuff and said, here's a cloud much like Jesus may have looked at when he was praying to the Father. That's exactly what this video was, right? Like here's rain. It was known to rain in biblical times. This is very similar to what the beginnings of the Noah rain would have been before the great flood. Oh, now I get it. It rained. Thank you, Focus on the Family. You've really – hold on. Let's pan the camera away. It probably did rain. Ah, come on. I was really disappointed. Really, really disappointed. Anyway, they can't be just – I'll bring you the video. You could probably make it – It does sound pretty cheesy. It's cheesy. It sounds pretty cheesy, Dan. I'd have to see it. I'm kind of the intellectual guy and that sounds bad. That sounds really bad. Well, now you're going through Mike's interpretation of it. I think Mike probably has nailed it. But if it's half as bad as the way he describes it, I don't know if I can take it. It's exactly like that. Mike would probably not have appreciated our floating shark on Sunday because it really had nothing to do with anything. That's pretty possible, yeah.

Yeah, no, I like to be taught the Bible. So I don't know what you've wasted Sunday morning on, but I like to learn Jesus' instruction. Here's a book. It's similar to what you might read at Sunday school. It sounds a lot like Jesus saying, look, here's a field. Consider the lilies of the field. It reminds me. Yeah, when Jesus says stuff like that, I pay attention. When the guy from Focus on the Family with the braided belt and the khakis up to his belly button says – No, no. I just don't say it. So like the way Mike's talking about it, like in that example would be like a guy holding up a doily and saying, look at this doily with lilies on it. It's like the lilies of the field that Jesus was talking about. Exactly. That's exactly what it was like. It makes me think of peace, lilies. It makes me think of Jesus. That sounds terrible. I like the wind. They're probably a good organization, but I'm telling you, these videos are cheesy. It's just – after watching that video, I realized what bothered me about the Truth Project. Like the Truth Project had a lot of good things in it, but it seemed like a lot of stuff – I don't know. It seemed like a lot of religion and not a lot of Jesus. Like a lot of stuff that was unnecessary, like spheres and orbs and a bunch of – I don't know. It just – it seemed like it would just be simpler to go, you know, here's the brass tacks of Jesus. You know, like it just seems like a lot of stuff like – Some people are conceptual like that, Mike, just because it's not – I don't see it. I just – like you know who's conceptual – Take a whiz or something. You know who's conceptual like that? The Mormons. They like to add to Jesus' work. The Mormons. I don't think it's the same. Pretty close, though. All right, you're listening to Life from the Past. Or Mormonism. And if you fellas – this is why Dale Taggart won't come on the show. I did. He was supposed to be on. I invited Dale Taggart. He didn't show back up. Who knows why?

Seriously. He doesn't want to defend his fears? Unbelievable. All right. So, Double J, the chat is not relenting. They would like to see you freestyle something. What? That's what they – they said they've seen it done. They've seen it done. They've seen it done and that you can do it again. Fine. Okay. All right. Got to – come on, drop a beat. Dan? Give it a go. Like, what are you – No, this is going to be a failure already. I forget he's wearing a Hawkeye shirt. We can't have the D-box. Okay, I'll just do it with my own and then I'll just go off my own beat. I'll just do it with Orbs. Okay, hold on. Here we go. The chat is helping out. Boom, boom, chicka, chicka, boom, boom, chicka. Who said that? That's from Dead Earth, man. Is that – Oh, Aaron, how you doing, buddy? Good to see you watching. All right. Hey, man. Hey. Hold on. What is that? Hang tight, brother. What do you got over there? The woman made stuff. I brought it in to let it warm up and I forgot about it. All right. All right. Go ahead. All right.

Let's see what we can do. I'm going to drop a little beat. I'm not going to keep it going because I can't rap beatbox at the same time. I'll beatbox. Go. Really? Get it started and I'll take it over. All right. All right. I'm chilling on the show and live from the pad. Add it together. Us four. You do the simple math. Yeah. We do it, man. We never stop. We be repping up. Jesus Christ repping up. God, yeah. Sitting on the mic with my friends now and never giving up. Going to the end now. Got a guy beatboxing like the wind. Got a pizza buffet. We've been talking about it, man. I don't quit, yeah, right to the end. Let them understand the way that I rock tonight. Never going to go give it no end. This is what I do, man. Sitting through, man. Going to break it down. Drinking all sacked and cool, man. Product placement. What was that? I'm going to do it again. Yeah, that was whack. So I'm going to give a shout out to the man who tweeted me a little while ago. Jimmy, what's up, man? It's time for us to keep going. We keep up flowing. We know it when we be getting on the show and we don't. We blowing up everyone's microphones and we do it. When we know it, it's time for us to bring it down for you. It's how we go when it's a step. There you go.

That's a breakdown right there. I rocked it. I got a tear. Want to copy that? That was awesome. Locked the wind. I can do Ben's part. I can't do what you're doing. Wow. There you go. That was beautiful. They love it. Love you, people. See, they do that. They love it. They said more Double J. They're tired of Mike rambling on about that. I'm not tired of him. Focus on the family. Focus on the family. This is a show about Jesus. I've wasted your time. Focus on the Jesus. I'm sorry. Amen. Dang it. Okay. So we talked a little bit about you're kicking off a tour at the start of the year. And I know it's vague, but you got something else set up for a little bit later on, like keeping yourself busy over the summer and stuff? Hopefully, the band I'm going with, we're hoping to have maybe another tour that year. But I don't know. It's kind of all up in the air. I'm going to try to keep busy, but I'm not really going to know until those days kind of come across the bridge when we get there, I guess. Are you bringing the Saved on Sunday tent on this tour? I don't know if bringing the tent. They get a fierce tent. I don't know. For revival. So it's not like you're just stopping on the roadside saying, hey, here's the concert. No. You have actual places like that. Yes.

That's awesome. Yep. It's going to be exciting. Do you guys have hotels and stuff? Are you sleeping in the bank? Did Daniel Brown mention those places are in a tent? I don't know. There's a lot of stuff I don't know right now. I would ask that question before you. I will ask if we're going to stick in a tent. You need to know what kind of clothes to be wearing. I will find that out. Hey, Troy. Hey, Troy. What's up, yo? Troy, you missed it. We beatboxed. We did. It was good. We bought Beech the beatbox. That's right. You weren't here. Yeah, that's why. That was pretty much the reason. Yeah, it was pretty much fantastic. Nice. All right. What? Yeah. Yeah, his first album did come out five years ago. It's true. Yeah. Correct. Very correct. We've heard of all about it. Okay. Cool. They're catching up. Yeah. Okay, so last time you were in, we talked a little bit about the J4J project. Maybe remind me just a little bit about what that's about and where you're at with it. All right, the J4J project basically has nothing to do with me personally. It has not anything to do with my life as an artist. Let's clarify that.

It's an actual project that I'm working on called the Just for Jesus project. What I want to do with it is I want to encourage people to take the banner and to take the lifestyle of Just for Jesus and to take that claim that this is what I'm living for. So hopefully, I'm still in the beginning stages. Hopefully next year I'm getting the clothing out. The first t-shirts are coming out for the J4J project. There's a lot of other stuff that I'm going to try to do, but it's still in the grounding stages. There's still a lot to figure out, but basically the whole message of it is to spread the Just for Jesus lifestyle. You know, it's not a brand. It's not a person. It's a lifestyle that I'm trying to represent, and it's not for anybody specific. It's just so everyone can see that this lifestyle is spreading, that this movement, I want a movement of the Just for Jesus. That's really it. That's a lot of details, but that's really vague. But basically, I want to do it through music, through clothing, through mission work, through a whole lot of different outlets, and a lot of different places. So I'm excited to see what happens next year when I finally get it, the groundwork started. Yeah, that sounds pretty cool. I mean, I kind of like the broad swaths, too. I mean, there's something to be said for people kind of rocking out in your corner of the world and living for Christ wherever you can sit. But if you can, you know, if you've got the platform and the motivation and the Holy Spirit with you to kind of take something and let the thing fly, I mean, that rocks. Yeah. That'd be exciting. So should you have some interim t-shirt designs, or what do you got? Right now, I got the prototypes for the first J4J project t-shirt. They're not in production yet. I'm hoping to have them in production by early next winter, like early next year, within the first month, hopefully January. January, but it's still in the process, but I'm excited about it. How much are you going to charge me for this shirt? The shirt will probably be $15, like most of my other shirts are. That's outrageous. It's not outrageous. Where do you have these shirts made? Right now, I go through a place in Pella, so it's a nice place. We'll talk about it. We can help you out. Oh, we can. All right.

Yeah, hopefully it will drive the price of your t-shirts down. Okay. I didn't realize living for Jesus was only from people from Urbandale or something. You're not going to give me, like, burlap sizes? People on the east side want to love Jesus, too. Maybe for eight bucks. John the Baptist. Burlap sacks with the word J4J just described in it. J4J. Not even written, just cut out. J4J. This has gotten out of hand. John the Baptist version. You guys are out of my organization. It's J4J. I can't dunk people in burlap. Come on. Nice. Wow. So, three designs. Why three? Like, why three designs? Oh, three? Yeah. Well, okay. Well, I want three shirts spanning out all of next year. Okay. I want the J4J Project shirt, the official shirt. I'm doing another, my next album for Limitless. I'm doing a Limitless Era t-shirt. Then I'm also doing an I Am Significant t-shirt. I do that one. That's the one that's the most important to me because I want people to wear it because just, I am significant. I want people to, I just want that, people to get a grasp on that. Yeah, but someone living as if you mean something as opposed to just contributing to a world like you are something. You're something to talk about. Yep. Because Jesus is something to talk about. Yeah, I know there's a lot of people who don't feel like they have any significance. Yeah. Because we're living in a world that being significant is a really high standard when it's not.

I mean, you just got to live and, you know, live for God and you are significant. You have a purpose. And that's kind of the whole driving force behind everything that I do is to let everyone in this generation know that they have a purpose. Yeah. So everything I do is driven by that. And I'm just excited. That's a good point, too, because there's a massive failure and a departure between being significant and being known or known of, right? Because there's a lot of people that are known or known of and that does not make them significant. Right. They're famous or infamous and neither one are necessarily awesome. You know, neither one is significant, right? Like, just because you're famous for, I don't know, doing whatever random crap you've done, you know, it doesn't make you really significant. It just means people know you for doing something. Right. Right. Yeah, I think that's going to be pretty hip. I think the way to make this fly is we need to do a reality show and we're always wearing those shirts. Yeah. And then we'll be famous for doing nothing. Wait, you want us? We're going to do a reality show? We'll do it. Okay. Okay. Yeah, you got stuff to do. I'll be like the overseer, like you're off the island. You'll be the guest star once in a while coming in and go, oh. Actually, that'll be like at the time, the point in time in which we embarrass you so much, we have to take off the shirt and leave. Yeah. Yeah. You got to battle rap each other. That'll be during Sweeps week. Sweeps. Oh, my goodness. Your drummer says hi. Who? Your drummer. What's up, drummer?

Okay, there you go. Oh, yeah, my drummer. How you doing, buddy? We're so close. What's up, man? It's like the reverse chicken. You know what I'm saying? Instead of going out with it, it's the wings you're coming in. No, no, that's not even close to the reverse. Yeah, it is. No. This is the chicken. What's the reverse chicken? Yeah, it would be out. It's like the mambo, though. No, you guys are too lazy to do it. Oh, my goodness. The feathers are out, and then they come in and do the breast area. Like the wind. That's the reverse. Yeah. Like the wind. I can't do it right. I'm not going to do that. I don't think there is a right way to do it, to be honest with you. Nope, I don't think there is. Man. Oh, my goodness. Jordan Cox says hi. All right, there you go. Hey, Jordan. Jordan Cox. What's up? I know Jordan. Do you know Jordan? I think so. If I know him. I do. You acted like you didn't know him, but you were trying to pass it off. Yeah, like, what's up? I know him. I know him. It's nice to meet you. Jordan Cox introduced me to Dance Dance Revolution.

What's up, buddy? Are you good at Dance Dance Revolution? I am very good at Dance Dance Revolution. Show me. No. Well, I wish I would have known that. I could have brought it over. What? Oh, my DDR party, man, right here. Next week. Dan, do you really have Dance Dance Revolution? No, Dan has. I have a family of girls. No. Dan has a twister board and then a video of himself that he protects on the wall. And then he dances with it. He goes, go, Daniel. I want to buy that game. I want that game. I want it. Next week, he sits on the couch eating a pizza, watching the video. Pizza buffet. Pizza buffet. I used to really be in shape. Can I eat pizza buffet? Yeah, I used to really be in shape. And then I heard that song from Double J. He says, I don't need to worry about the past. I can't do anything about it. As he squeezes into his I Am Significant shirt. Significant. How do you follow that? You don't. You're listening to Live from the Path. You can check us out every Monday night from Ted Midnight here on livefromthepath.org. I'm totally cool with how bad that sounds. You look like it. That seems oddly counterproductive. Did you see that? It does seem. It'd be like me buying my own t-shirt for myself. Did you see the look on his face? It was like a kid who wants pancakes and his parents are offering eggs. He's like, no, I told you you're going to make pancakes. You make me pancakes, mom. Like the wind. I don't want no silly eggs. This is ridiculous. I want pizza buffet. You put eggs as a side for my pancakes. Come on, Bob. You see how he did it, too? He was like, you're going to make me some pancakes. He backed away from it. He's like, I can't even take myself. You can't handle this stuff. Nice. Oh, man.

All right. Well, I'll tell you what. I'm sorry. Can you be bothered? No, I'm good. I'm all right. Just sipping on my nose. So we're going to lose him completely with our jubba jubba. Let's talk about your other tune, Energy. All right. Energy is very special to me because, as a lot of people of my friends know, I am a caffeine addict, and I'm a proud caffeine addict. I know that I am. I have a wall at home covered with like 250 different energy drink cans that I have accumulated over the past year and a half. So I decided one day that I was going to write a song using energy drink names. Over 100. So I wrote a song, a serious song about my life using 105 names of these, including this one. So before I go into the song, I kind of want to challenge you guys. Do you have a real job or anything? I have a real job. Okay. I'm sorry. Go ahead. He makes white watches. I actually make doors if you really want to know. It's adorable. No, I swear. You're a class act. That's a pun. That's punny. That was awesome. I really thought I was going to think of something clever to say that had the word bifold in it, but I didn't have it. Go ahead. Bifold. Bifold. I'm bifolded. All right. No, the challenge I want to make to everyone who's going to see this on YouTube and whatever is, here's the challenge. If you, when you hear this song and you see it on YouTube, if you can, the first person to send me all 105 energy drink names in this song will win a free t-shirt and a free album

from me. That's the challenge. That's like a $75 value. If you can name all, the first person to email me all 105 names at j4life at gmail.com will win a t-shirt and a CD. So be listening. Your favorite's going to be in there. I promise. 105. All right. I'd like to win. Let's rock it out. This is Energy from Double J. You're listening to Life in the Path. It's the energy. It's the energy. It's the energy. It's the energy. It's the energy in me, in me, yeah. It's the energy that's inside of me. Everywhere I go and everything I see. It's the energy. It's the energy of God in me. When I was young, living in excess. Felt like Superman. Jones in for adrenaline rushes. That real fuel by my sin. Was like, dang, that's good. I got buzzed and got on that chronic. The beast in me was in the heat of the moment. I couldn't stop it. Life-size Excel. The big dog Steven Seagal. Bloodshot. Power tripping with the pedal to the flow. Was a monster in a mixed up place. Encircled by piranhas. Joker's venom was wearing. Commotion won't last much longer. Wanted to go fast. Rushed to something not worth the hype. So to the bad boys and girls. I'm going to kill you. Buzz the night.

It's the energy that's inside of me. Everywhere I go and everything I see. It's the energy. It's the energy of God in me. And I'ma take you step by step on this road. The places I've seen and the people I know. Gonna talk about the life I lead. I lead. Yeah. The Omega found me in chaos. My life made a 180. Got a jewel to spike a slap. But like lightning I started changing. First I didn't give a rip. It didn't seem very natural. High on the hog clone to be a savage of the world. Now I'm wired to elevate to a speedy recovery. I'm all in full throttle. Can't be stopped by even gravity. Now I got some traction. Been relaunched by the mother lobe. After shocks are over. The assault ain't stinging me no more. Put myself in rehab. I'm Neo in this matrix. Dubs and cocaine of the world. I knew I couldn't take it. Punched an ass to the floor. And then I tweaked my G-Force. Snake eyes in this monopoly. Out of prison ready for war. It's the energy that's inside of me. Everywhere I go and everything I see. It's the energy. It's the energy of God in me. And I'ma take you step by step on this road. The places I've seen and the people I know. Gonna talk about the life I lead. I lead. I want your love so everlasting. I want you to be the source. That burns inside me as I lean on you and your old glory. I want to be a warrior. Real and less after the loss.

To fortify my heart. Cause God quite frankly. I've had enough. For me you bled. Red. Bullied and was crucified. God your love's a roaring lion. Put it into overdrive. Showing my true colors. I've been feeling super dry. Want to break this vault of pain. Reaching for a bluer sky. Let us show. No fear. Pure in heart. Pure in mind. Blow up like an M80. Men are falling from the sky. Soon across the sky. So even the rock stars will believe. From absolutely zero to a perfect ten up in the street. Import your smart power so we can't out love each other. We were raised by the world but nature is one bad mother. It's the energy that's inside of me. Everywhere I go and everything I see. It's the energy. It's the energy of God in me. And I'ma take you step by step on this road. The places I've seen and the people I know. Gonna talk about the life I lead. Ten more. Yeah. Alright. God can't do it all. It takes two to tango. Gotta make a choice and then it clicks. Bingo. World had you by the jugular. Ready just to take it all. Get revamped in the spirit. Open a new tab in the browser of your soul. Dipped into motion. You're radioactive. Life just exploded.

Giant nuclear blasting. Now your life is cooler than it ever was before. Now you're ready to rumba. Right beside the holy lord now. 105. Woo! 105. I like the phrase ready to rumba right beside the holy lord. I think that's hip. Thanks. I realized like after that third verse. I'm like I only have 93. I promise my fans 100. So I made an ending verse with 10 more. Man that's fierce. Now here's the thing. That's the first time I've heard that. And I remember I'd seen posts from you I think on Facebook kind of talking about it. Yeah Facebook. And so what I thought you were going to do is just write down a bunch of names and then like string them all together. No. No man that's a. There's something to that. If you didn't know those were in there you wouldn't know they were in there. You know what I'm saying? Unless he said hey man I'm writing a tune with this stuff in there. You'd be like that's just a hard driving tune. Yeah. Which makes you believe that I mean energy drinks are named for motivation. You know what I'm saying? Like they mean energy drinks have to be called get up and do something otherwise you probably wouldn't drink them you know. Yeah. I didn't want to do that when I when I was you know when I thought of the idea I'm like how do I want to do this song? Do I want to do a funny song with all the name? I'm like no no I'm going to really challenge myself and do a serious song about my life and using them in context. Like using them in the context of not you know what they are but how I want to use them. It was hard. It's funny because you sit there and wait for your favorite energy to come by. Like say full throttle. Say it. Say it. Yes. Did you hear it? There's full throttle.

Yeah I heard it. Did everyone else hear their favorite? I heard a lot of them. I don't do them. I don't even know the names of them. Jesus is my energy drink. So I was watching folks on the family right? They're like here's the deal. You don't need energy drinks. You need Jesus. I was actually really surprised at what you put Red Bull in there. Oh yeah. That was awesome. I was wondering how you were going to fit it in there so I was actually really really intrigued and surprised at what you put it in there. That was awesome. Thank you. It was difficult to write that. It took me a few weeks to write it because like I had to sit down literally. I went online and I found every drink I possibly. I found like 500 different ones and I had to put them into an Excel spreadsheet. Like five columns. I'm like so I had to get like verse one, verse two, verse three, verse four and I had to drag and drop where I wanted to put each one. That's a good idea. I had to try to fit them. I had like 30, 34 average in each verse. I like it man. Some lines had like four. See now. It was ridiculous. Now think about that. Now doesn't that probably blows the minds of the way that a guy thinks of a traditional rapper. You're right. You don't think of a guy in an Excel sheet typing stuff up thinking yeah. Verse one sorted alphabetically just like I like it. It was hard. That's true. But I like to push myself. And what I want to do if you go to my YouTube channel, it's YouTube.com slash J4JTV. You can challenge me. If you like that song, you can challenge me to do something else. Or like if you have an idea for a rap you want to hear, go to my YouTube. Hairspray. Hit up my videos and tell me what you think you want me to do or what you want to challenge me to do and I'll probably do it. Hairspray.

We are back Double J's in studio And uh boy Boy Things have been happening here What? What's happened? What happened? There's a plate of treats Yeah I only went on break because I wanted to eat some chocolate There was some chocolate available in here Yeah, the wife made these for Christmas Christmas stuff Well, thank you very much Actually, she does that The family gets together I go deer hunting once a year

I don't know why I'm terrible I can't even shoot I didn't even shoot Once again, this is like three years in a row I don't shoot nothing And so I go and while I'm out and about sitting in the cold The wife and her mom and some friends or whatever will cook a bunch of cookies and stuff And so it's always well worth going out sitting in the cold for that exact reason I actually saw a deer this year And he was about 10 feet from me And he knew he had me It was a dude It's the first time I've seen a dude deer when I've been out So I'm just sitting there Usually I put the gun down And then I just sit by a tree and I start looking around Eventually I just fall asleep for an hour or so You know, then I go back and eat breakfast Badger comes and eat your fingers So I sit down It's like, I don't know, 7 a.m. or so And I sit down And I do my usual I put my gun down And then I find out how I'm going to keep myself warm for the next hours while I'm trying to sleep And here jumps this The buck jumps out Stares at me right in the face I'm like, well, you got me And then he looked at me He kind of shook his head a little bit And then he started to walk away And so I made a move for the gun, right? Like I'm like, okay You've picked the wrong guy So I made a move for the gun And then he starts to run Well, now he's like 15 feet away Which is way out of my shooting range And so, you know, he got away But if he would have stayed in that 10-foot range any longer I'd have had him You'd have taken him out?

He'd have been on the table I'm telling you You know, hunting always sounds really enjoyable to me In the summer I think, yeah, this would be great And then when people say, hey, do you want to go hunting? I'm like, it's cold Oh, yeah I'm the only guy that gets excited when it's like 40 degrees out I'm like, they're like, it's going to be 40 degrees for deer hunting season I'm like, yeah, it's finally good And everyone else is like, oh, it's terrible hunting weather I'm like, that's the only weather to hunt in, man It's not like the deer phantom away when it gets to be 40 You know, they're still there somewhere Exactly You just got to find them Yeah And I thought everybody had the wrong end of the stick on this deal Like they sit Like they go sitting They sit in the morning and in the evening You know, waiting for the deer And I always thought they had it backwards, you know So I predator myself around the woods Like I'm going to just find them in their natural habitat And waylay them That's never worked So I think that their setting is actually the way to go In case you I think you're probably right You probably got You're on something Yeah, you can't Of course, I usually wear my iPod I usually have my headphones in And I usually make a bunch of noise I'm surprised any deer come within I mean, any feet of me at all I'm terrible You're like the guy throwing rocks in the water Yeah, like I get I get bored So I start to balance on limbs

Places, you know I practice shooting people When they're not there Like a five-year-old kid You know, I'll put the gun up like I got him, I got him You know, it's terrible I don't know why they invite me I think they feel they have to Because I married their daughter And I'm just I'm terrible at hunting I really do enjoy it I'm just not good at it at all It's embarrassing So that's my hunting story Okay Very good, excellent I'm sorry I tagged it, fellas I'm sorry Cool story, bro It's just what goes on It wasn't riveting I was riveted I got a tear My heart started to beat really fast I was exhilarating So wait, so Dan, have you ever been hunting? No I got a gun now I got a rifle, I got a shotgun, whatever it is I got guns Yeah I've been out in Wyoming We were shooting guns And we saw fun things But we didn't really hunt Because they hunt for real food out there You know, I think they live on the mountain And we're like I haven't See, Dan didn't pick it up where I dropped it off No, no You guys are

Had a waffle? Seriously, a waffle Pancakes Right at the beginning And then towards the end you're like Stupid waffle I should have got a burrito Pancakes I don't know that I've ever been in a position to choose burrito or waffle You're not going to the right places, man A breakfast burrito You go to the IHOP That's where they have it I don't Here's the deal Wait, why would you choose between a waffle and a burrito at the International House of Pancakes? A breakfast burrito Yeah Do you want a pancake? Yeah, straight up

Secular and China Oh, China Okay, go ahead Mark and Barfer Mark and Mark Canada I go secular And I will say England I almost went British But then I got yelled at last time England proper

Go ahead England proper I don't know I can't take the way he's talking today It sounded like he just kind of threw something up I'm going to go with England England Sorry about my England Alright That was a terrible joke If you wish good advice Consult an old man Secular Romanian Same thing China, whatever Pakistani No, it's not No, no A priest's beard is always soaked in butter A priest's beard is always soaked in butter Secular KFC Betty Crocker What is that? Okay We've had this one Okay, what was it? It's Russian It is Russian It is secular Russian What does it mean? Why do they say a priest's beard is soaked in butter? Because he's drinking He's eating the holy food He's eating waffles When was the last time you took communion And the unleavened wafers were soaked in butter? I don't live in Russia I don't know how it goes there Just saying What's the deal then? Tell me A lot of sweet corn I think it's an anti-church sentiment I think butter is probably harder to come by

I think a priest who soaks his beard in butter Has so much around Well, that's not appropriate for the show, Ben It's what the Russians think I don't know that We need to make waves in Russia We're taking the show worldwide That is an atheist nation I mean, after all At least it used to be Russia? It's not even a It's not a nation anymore, is it? No Yeah, okay Well, then let it be, Ben What? Russia's done Here we go It's better What? The USSR is done The USSR, dude Russia's still around They just voted out Putin, didn't they? The USSR broke up Russia's still there Russia is not the same It's not the same It's still Russia The Soviet Union is done There is a Russia The USSR is gone It's like saying Leonard Skinner is the same With his brother singing It ain't But it's still Leonard Skinner Now, just because you call yourself Leonard Skinner Don't make you Leonard Skinner So, Russia changed overnight? Like, what is Russian now? That's like me saying

I am Justin Timberlake Just because I say that That's believable Does not make me Justin Timberlake I'm Justin Bieber What if an atlas says that it's Russia? Is it Troy's atlas? Maybe you have an old atlas Do you even have an atlas? Webster told me it was Russia You don't? You don't have an atlas Webster has died Webster's Dictionary died? Oh, no, that guy's been dead forever I was thinking of the tiny guy Oh, my God The Belvedere? Gary Coleman? Pretty sure He's passed away We should talk about Russia Yeah, he did Okay He did That was a different guy Is that what you said? He did He did He did I'm sorry, he did He did like to win Oh, we're going to kill that Okay Okay It is better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting For this is the end of all mankind It is better to go to the house of mourning Than go to the house of feasting For this is the end of all mankind That sounds a lot like Solomon Double J's going with Solomon Damn

I'm going Solomon Boom Especially the way you emphasize it at the end It sounded like a preacher The end of That just screams Solomon Solomon Go ahead, Troy Do you not feel good, Troy? Canada Secular It is better to go to the house of mourning Than go to the house of feasting For this is the end of all mankind Ecclesiastes Boom Yeah Solomon Boom, baby Here we go, two more Measure a thousand times and cut once Babila Measure a thousand times Massachusetts And cut once This old house still Massachusetts That is secular And it is Union House 241 What? Union House? An organized labor slander You can't even make fun of the Union correctly I don't even know the Union I don't like the Union Local chapter Mike I'm saying Massachusetts Bob Villa Okay That's it Double J I'm going to say Canada Known for their measurements

The Canadians They use the metric system Luftwaffe Secular Home Depot Don't encourage a home depot What are you talking about? I had a sneeze It was a little sneeze I had a sickness Measure a thousand times and cut once Secular Turkish Yeah Turkish You say Turkish What if like Turkey and Hungary got in a war? Go ahead Mike Does that have to pass for funny around your place? I'm just like Hungry and Turkey Who would win that battle? I had another G for my jokes I'm sorry You said Turkey I just thought Hungary I don't know I just put two jokes Just for jokes What's the best knock knock joke you've ever heard? Double J I have no idea So you've not heard any good ones or you don't remember them? I've never heard any Do you know the joke been told for Halloween this year? No Knock knock Who's there? Abe Blanket Abe Blanket Seriously you don't know Abe Blanket? Wow That was it That was a joke

That was a great joke Eight year old kid Seriously What stupid joke I've ever heard? Alright I like the cat out the window joke What is it? What do you call a cat getting thrown out the window? Of a car Of a car seems like it was tacked on the end Unnecessarily I don't know Kitty litter You know if dad laughs it ain't no good Yeah Yeah Hey Hey Carmel Apple Knock knock Who's there? Hi Hi who? Hiya That's it Those are my only two jokes You made fun of my joke That's true Ben Yours was there I'm sorry Hey Ben What? Knock knock Who's there? Don't lie on me Interrupting cow Interrupting cow Who moved? I can't control He gets loopy after an hour I know it's ridiculous We're going to have to send him out What do you got? One more Solomon

Then we're going to do some advice Okay here we go For the protection of wisdom Is like the protection of money And the advantage of knowledge Is that wisdom preserves the life Of him who has it That's Solomon Solomon I got to vote for two votes Solomon Wait say that again For the protection of wisdom Is like the protection of money And the advantage of knowledge Is that wisdom Preserves the life Of him who has it There's two things Solomon knows It's wisdom and money That's Solomon That's Donald Trump It's different I don't know about Trump Trump don't know It's all about Solomon Okay It sounds a lot like Proverbs 2 But I'm going to go with secular And I'm going to say It sounds a lot Chinese Like the Chinese Troy Did you have a guess? Thank you for noticing Solomon For the protection of wisdom Is like the protection of money And the advantage of knowledge Is that wisdom Preserves the life Of him who has it Hanging around for Solomon Still in Ecclesiastes

Dan come on Let's buy a swimming fish Talk I should Come on Dan You're just jealous You missed it Alright It's a classic It'll go down in the history That's a classic Unbeknownst to you You have been a part of The internet's fastest Growing game show Secular Or Solomon Secular Or Solomon Okay you ready? Yep We have some deer Live from the past This is where people Have written into the show Needing big help Big advice They want some help from us And we're only happy To oblige So here we go Dear Life from the past I moved out of my parents House and have been Working full time And supporting myself For three years I love my life As a young adult This past year My younger sister Nicole Has been saying She wants to move in

With me So she can get out Of our parents house And be closer to me She earns twice as much As I do And she can easily Afford her own place I have not encouraged her Because I enjoy Living by myself Nicole and her parents Are now accusing me Of being a terrible sister And a friend to her She has been depressed Gone into therapy And has been cutting herself I want to support my sister In any way I can But I don't think Her living with me Will be the solution To her many problems I don't want to cause A rift in the family But I also don't want To be guilted Into letting her move in What should I do? Troy Coming from A recent experience With living with Siblings Absolutely not Do not be guilted Into Into having your sister Move in with you If she can afford Her own place She needs to move Into her own place

What if she couldn't Afford her own place? Regardless She needs to Get into a situation Where she can't Afford her own place Before she starts Deciding to move Into her sister Just because she wants to Obviously when the sister Doesn't want to I agree with Troy If you don't provide For your relatives And especially for Your immediate family You've denied the faith And you're worse Than an unbeliever I should put that In the bible First Timothy Sure sounds like A bible verse Doesn't it? Brother's keeper And what not Screw them I'm on my own First off They're sisters Not brothers No I'm kidding That's a total joke there In all honesty You are your brother's keeper But you're not supposed To be your brother's Rent payer Just because you're Your brother's keeper Doesn't mean that

You have to take care of them I think mom and dad Need to make her Help her get healthy Before she goes They're projecting A lot of serious Deep emotional problems And saying Here sister You take care of this And how dare you Not take care of that Well to say Parents are obviously Not able to handle The situation It's probably best That this gal Steps up and does it I submit That would be the question I think we could agree That it's the parents Responsibility But if they're failing Do you as a sibling Then have the Responsibility to step in Double J Huh I don't know Like I don't think so I don't think that I would want My sibling to move in With me At that point I don't know It just feels like I'm going to bring A whole lot of Because I don't want

If I don't want it Anyway It just seems like I'm bringing a whole lot More problems on myself That I didn't want To begin with I moved out of that Huh I moved out of that Yeah It's almost like It's being forced on me I don't want it to happen But It's kind of like This is my responsibility It's kind of being guilted Like well It's not working out there Well you're only feeling guilty Because you don't want to help Right I mean That's where the guilt Is coming from If you If you wanted to help To begin with You wouldn't feel guilty About helping That's true If you were doing The right thing You wouldn't have Any guilt to feel Right Well I mean no But I mean if everyone's like Oh you're a terrible person Like eventually If they're telling you You're a terrible sister Eventually it's going to

Kind of get in your mind That okay Maybe I am If I'm not I mean your perspective To start with might be No This is dumb But after being beaten down And everyone telling you You're a terrible person Eventually you're going to be like Maybe But again The guilt isn't She's not putting guilt upon herself It's just I don't want to hear you guys Telling me how terrible Of a sister I am anymore Fine Move in It's not that she's like Oh well maybe I'm wrong Blah blah blah No it's She doesn't want to hear him saying You know what You're a terrible sister Why aren't you taking care Of your younger sister Why can't she move in with you If you don't want her there Don't have her there Because it's going to cause A bigger rift From you guys having that Distance in itself To begin with And then living Well that sounds like An awesome way to set up A self indulgent Self centered lifestyle

Where you shouldn't have to Move in the way For anybody You know like Why inconvenience yourself In any way What's she going to do That's going to help her sister Companionship Love Companionship and love And that's going to happen From her being on her couch Sure she'll hug her there I won't lie The hugs will happen The distance between them It's going to make it Where do you hug people Outdoors in public I do it at home Come here Regardless if you've lived 10 miles away from each other Or sleep 20 feet away From each other The companionship can be there You don't have to share A dishwasher For there to be companionship Most marriages exist Either where they live In the same house Or a couple blocks away That's true Nothing says close relationship Like don't live here I won't lie though Like if I was totally My brother Move out of your parents Does that mean You don't have a close

Relationship with them Yeah That's why I moved out Absolutely I moved out I moved out of my parents House and I still had A close relationship With my parents But I didn't have to be Sleeping in a bed In their house For me to have that But you may have Moved out Under healthy circumstances The question really here Is if you have someone In your family That is needing help Like how can you say How can you abdicate Responsibility because You are going to be Negatively inconvenienced By having to take it on How is it going to help her In the first place though I think Her sister wants to move out Just to get away from her parents Is that what it said Yeah maybe her parents Are way screwed up So That's why both of them Moved out She's getting depressed Even though it says That she makes twice As much money as this As her other sister does Maybe it's not just Because she wants to move out

Maybe there's something Much more She needs Jesus That's not Well obviously I'll go with that I don't think anyone Is going to disagree with that No Maybe she's But maybe she's just so upset Because she doesn't want to live With her crazy parents But she can live on her own though She can afford it more Than the other sister She has the money To live on her own The stability So she really No but now Just because you have money Doesn't mean you have the means To support yourself But if she really wanted To get out of there Then Well it says that In the thing That she has the money To support her own place So yeah it does say that But if you don't know How to manage it Or take care of you You need someone to help you out Show you That is what a sister That's loving can do A sister that's living On her own already Can help budget I'll help you get in I'll help you

Help you set up She doesn't have to live In the same houses Or she can help her You guys are terrible No I'm not terrible No I'm not No I just love my life I love my stuff That I have And my space Can I move in with you No absolutely not Why not Because you're a cancer It would really help me It would really help me If I could live with you I don't want a self-centered Doofus living in my house I feel like I'm going to Really feel terrible And I'm going to start Slipping into depression If I don't live with you Well if you didn't have Showed yourself to be Such an uncaring boob I would let you move in But you're a terrible What makes you Different than your sister What makes you different Than the older sister Well A You're not related to me B You're bad Brothers in Christ We're being hypothetical C You have a drug problem I am related to you I'm your brother

You steal things from me I steal What have I ever stolen from you You set fires I set fires F So basically what you're saying Is you're giving me a list Of reasons why you don't Want to live with me Correct I don't want you Living with me Yes You're giving me a list Of reasons why You don't want me Living with you Even though I just told you It would help my mental stability It would help my emotional state To live with you Regardless if we're close Or not I've known you for years I consider you my brother I think it's very important How close you are Yeah yeah You don't think we're close Not close enough for you To move in with me No How so Because I'm not letting you Move in with me But I'm your brother In what regard We're brothers in Christ Aren't we Yeah Isn't that even closer Than family That means you are united

In faith Not indistinct as people What I'm saying though If we are that And we do have that Relationship Maybe not to the point That you think I can move in with you I think you didn't Catch this verse correctly In Timothy Paul is saying If anyone does not provide For his relatives And especially His immediate family Or A random guy That he knows Kind of well He has denied the faith That is worse than an unbeliever Exactly That's where Troy Is coming from Exactly That's what I'm saying Troy but by your same rationale Like the guy on death row Who's come to know Jesus He finally gets paroled When he's 85 And I'm like Oh brother in Christ Come live at my place He lives with me He's coming to live with you He's coming to live with me First off I'm not afraid Of an 85 year old man I don't care And you're pretty sure

He's going to stay In his bedroom He's not used to roaming So Get in there Yes you may use the restroom I'm not scared Are you scared of me Mike Because I'm not scared Of the 85 year old convict Yeah I'm afraid Of the 85 year old Yes You're scared of me Yes You're scared of what I'm going to do in your house Yes Oh man What What am I going to do That's so destructive In your home Are you threatening me I'm asking you What you think I'm going to do Troy You're not living with me This is not Mike I really want to live with you And I need a place to go I really said no Hey hold on a subject I live with you too No Can Ben move in with you Can we get book beds No Ben's your brother I don't need I'm taking responsibility For my own self Not freeloading on my brother If he was in the straits

I'd let his family move in with me And he could live outside Until he gets a job Hold on Mike Hold on I think you're missing this So it says If anyone does not provide For his relatives And especially for his immediate family Or Crazy Troy Or Double J He has denied the faith It's in there It's there It's in there I feel like you're not catching it Like I say it over and over again And you're not You're not catching it Like Paul kind of makes a distinction here About relatives And close family And responsibility The book of Troy says So that he Do not say the book of Troy That's terrible So that he will be correct He has taken Paul And kind of Stretched it out And added whatever Like the Episcopalians What I'm saying is though It circles back to Regardless if we're blood brothers Here Here's my anti-biblical sentiment No no no What I'm saying is I honestly Truly 100% believe

Not to just be The devil The devil's advocate to Mike Is that I believe that the older sister Or Whosever sister Lives on her own Is doing the best thing For the other sister By not letting them live with them They would be enabling that person To live in a lifestyle That they still want to live in Just because they don't want to live on their own Even though they're perfectly capable of doing so That is enabling that person To not have to come to terms With being an adult That's true And to be clear The scripture didn't say To have them live with you It just says to provide for So it could be to provide She could bring her groceries On Tuesdays As long as she's living in her own apartment You don't have to live in the same house To be taken care of Give her a hug every Monday Or something like that Yeah yeah It's our Monday hug You can hug while listening Drive by your house Every Monday morning Snuggle up to the radio I'm going to knock on your door Come in and say I need a hug Hey Mike That's a promise from Troy That's a guarantee

I'll set my heart Like waiting for your arrival I just think of all the people Hugging right now While we're talking I wonder I want to shout out To all the hugging people Out there Yeah You're the guys That don't want anything To do with it I want to hug They can hug They can hug I'm just like No Like Alright I'm agree with him Provide for Help her But don't be like Oh you don't want to live there You have money You're too lazy to go get your own house Come sleep in my basement Whatever It's sweet You can eat my Cheerio No big problem She's in therapy She's hurting herself You're going to leave You're going to turn her out Into her own place I don't even want to get started Oh my goodness You're going to send her back To your mom and dad Obviously that's what the environment is No don't send her back To mom and dad

That is 100% for attention Okay you can't Don't jump into that conclusion That is 100% for attention Coming from a person That is deeply close to That whole situation This is your hug buddy That you're involved with That is 100% for attention She's trying to reach out Agreed She doesn't need to live with someone To get over that whole psychological Now listen here Obviously she's not getting it From her parents Now listen here If And I would agree That it's very possible That there's some sort of There's something there That they're trying to draw attention That their current circumstances Do not seem to be fulfilling Do you think that the appropriate solution Is to turn them out on their own No I'm not saying Turn her out on their own Okay so They don't want to go back To their parents Because it's a poor environment And you don't want her To live by herself It's a poor environment So you would rather have her live With some complete stranger Than you I'm not saying I never want First off you're assuming That it's a poor environment

It's true There's no indication There's no indication What's the matter That it's a poor environment That's true She makes twice as much money As the gal that's on her own And wants to move out Of her mom and dad's house Does not want to be there at all So that's her parents fault She makes twice as much money As the girl who lives on her own Yep That's the parents fault Because they're not covering A correct environment For this girl But the sister Who's living on her own Who isn't the parent Of this girl Is going to do a better job Of trying to parent this girl She doesn't need a parent I would say Okay so what are the pros Of her just living What are the pros Of her just living I'm going to give her four months I'm going to have her I'm going to move with me Four months Okay yeah yeah Okay I can compromise I can compromise with this I can have her like Hey I will let you stay with me For a minimal amount of time To get your feet on the ground She'll never leave out Yeah

Oh no She'll cut herself She'll be all kinds of reasons I can't go down We're back to square one If that's not going to help Then what's the point of doing it If she's going to come in And the problem's going to continue And just affect me Because I mean like If I'm like I want to help you Come to my house I'll help you out And it doesn't change It's going to bring me down In the end like Sure you want to help them But you got to do What's best for you as well At the same time And that's an extremely Pessimistic view It very is But I mean But it's a realistic view Definitely It may be pessimistic But it's also realistic It doesn't make you noble Or have more wisdom Because you're willing To see the dark side of something People can be helped Yeah Oh yeah I understand But not by me And that's why I agree with you With the you know I mean I'm not capable They're seeking professional help You're not going to be able

To do much better than that That's why I agree with you That you stay here For this amount of time If you can't figure your stuff out Then there's not much I can do for you Or I'll park by the hour For the counseling fees On the couch Yeah the couch That's right I think it was triple amount They don't need therapy They need love They need a hug Yeah Monday hugs That love's going to come From your couch Hey a couch is pretty comfy I'm not going to lie Give them a good CD on You can't help them Buy them the generation More CD What makes you such a calloused Individual that you feel like Being in close proximity To someone And living a life Where someone generally Cares about you And spends time around you And consoles you And wants to be In a nice relationship with you Cannot have any positive benefit Because that's me Because you can do it Down the street Eat pancakes You can call me on the phone And do it

Because I'm Like the wind I'm the person Who's being completely Inable Because quite literally In my situation right now I'm trying to get I'm working my way Towards moving out of My brother and sister's house Because I'm just A fourth wheel For their family Not allowing them To grow on their own Not allowing myself To grow on my own I feel terrible Every single day Do you want to move in with me Now wait a minute Now wait a minute Now don't you see The benefit of having Lived with them Has brought you An appropriate perspective And now you're going out Healthily on your own Seems like the best Transition period Short term Secular says Because your sister's Depression is so severe That she's cutting herself You are right in thinking Her living with you Won't be the solution To her problems That she realizes She needs professional help And is getting it

Is a step in the right direction You should not have Your sister move in Until And unless You have discussed it With her And her therapist And are satisfied It will be beneficial For both of you I agree with that I agree with that I totally disagree with that Okay Well we're not going to Go down this path With a complete coward's answer But do you want a hug Yeah congratulations Dan and Troy You agree with the world Dear life from the path Oh man I'm 15 And my parents Have decided They want to have Another kid Shouldn't parents Talk to their other Children about this None of us Were asked for our opinion We were just informed Mom has had health problems Almost my entire life So I had to grow up Extremely fast I watched her Have a seizure While we were out shopping And she was often In the hospital

I don't want another child To go through this too When I say something I'm told I'm being selfish And rude This new baby Is already loved more Because my dad hopes She will be better than me Am I wrong to feel this unfair What Okay Alright there This goes in a little A couple weird directions Oh and by the way I feel like we're Getting By the way I think this baby Is going to be better than you I just got a feeling about it It doesn't kick as much Yeah we are definitely Getting one side of the story I don't know I don't know that you can Give legitimate advice here You can't There's no way Pull it down to the One question right It's none of your business Yeah You're 15 years old Where the mom Where the dad Is our child The parents run the house The parents make the decisions It's not a 15 year old decision It's like no You can't have a baby Okay

Let's go back a few years When you couldn't choose It happens when it happens Yeah I don't think she really has to say Parents make the rules Parents make decisions You just got to deal with it And move on Make poor decisions They've already raised a brat In half here Pretty much They got another one On the way Oh no no Actually they don't Because the dad's like This one's going to be better This will probably move Into her apartment Sometime anyway Exactly And then Great I think those two stories Are combined Yeah I'm a brother's keeper Except for when it's Inconvenient for me Okay Let's not go back into that Let it go Keeping them doesn't mean Keeping them in your house If we are a body We should live by our children Hold on It doesn't mean not It doesn't mean not Keeping them in their house Just because it doesn't say Live with you

It also doesn't say Feed them It just says provide And provision could be Them staying with you What parts of the bible Are you reading There are certain situations Where I can understand That moving in From a maximum Amount of time Of two or three Whatever months You've got picture mail You've got Skype You can be as if You're living together And it's not just A companionship Ben's completely right It is Maybe they need That incubation period Of I don't know I'm definitely not ready To live out on my own I didn't have the choice To go back to my mom and dad Trey and Anne Have been the ones Keeping me So that I wasn't On the streets Because I am an idiot By nature And I didn't have The chance to go back To mom and dad You can sleep In his back room However However I have taken

100% advantage And I can't imagine That every other person Is not going to do the same I know there are people Who won't Take advantage Of their siblings But I know that There are a lot of people Who will And it's not It's on a base to base Situation where you determine Whether or not They're moving in with you To completely mooch And be parasitic To your relationships That you're having Or whether they're Moving in with you Because they truly think It is the best decision So that they can help Themselves on the next step To their adulthood To their own self To where they can be Self-sufficient Where they can live On their own And be an acting part Of society A solid understanding A positive angle For a man that spent Some time incubating With his brother And then now Is moving healthily on I see a new focus On the family DVD Coming out

You are in agreement With me Moving on Solid Dear Life of the Path Did we get secular's Advice on that? No No It was pretty much the same Dear Life of the Path Every year we send out A holiday letter Along with our greeting cards The letter usually Highlights events Of immediate family members Over the past years Unless they don't Live with us anymore And then we don't Consider them part of the family This year there is a problem Our 22 year old son Dexter Is in jail On burglary charges Related to a drug problem Many of our friends And relatives Already know about this But others are not aware Our son's siblings Are doing well And we like to report On their activities However we're confused Concerning Dexter We really cannot Send a holiday letter And leave him out But neither can we Fabricate a story Concerning his status

Telling the truth Would be informational But also awkward We'd really appreciate Your advice Stop sending A pansy holiday For a letter I say send out Two letters The positive And the negative And then put a warning label On the negative one That's ridiculous This sounds like The TV show character Got caught And his family Is debating what to do With the Christmas cards Like what do we do I mean we got The picture of the family Then we got a mug shot Right here It's just That's just an awkward Awkward situation Yeah like the yearbook Where it says Not pictured Dexter What happened to Dexter Jimmy Jommy Tanny Tommy But Dexter's not in there You just have to be creative You know It's like Little Johnny's doing Really great in business Really succeeding

Excelling He's on a trip right now We haven't heard from him For a while They said he's got his kids Right so you just talk about How great the kids are Yeah And say Dexter continues to live And grow And love his family Dexter's really good with money There you go He's good at He's a real entrepreneur No no Dexter Dexter has no children Dexter's brothers have children Okay Right I don't see the point Of sending out the holiday letter In the first place But I know that's not the point So I Look at a three page pamphlet About the children Obviously I don't think You should fabricate it I think you should just simplify What You don't have to mention it Just leave it out Dexter's really good with money You can't leave it out What happened to Dexter Dude If they really care enough You really don't have to tell them that That's your thing right there That's how you figure out If people even read your holiday letters Do you have peanut butter

On your shirt Probably Yes you do Yeah I do My leopard wants a peanut butter On my shirt Awesome That's right That's how you figure out If people actually read your holiday letters You send it without Dexter in there And if people really feel like They care enough They are going to call you And say hey They don't care They're gossip I read your holiday letter Oh yeah Who reads all of them If there's that much information You kind of go uh huh I mean You're not going to notice That Dexter's not in there Unless you're truly sitting there Reading it Yeah I don't really think You need to include the fact That yeah Oh by the way Dexter's in jail Then the people who call you And say hey You know I was reading Your holiday letter And you know I couldn't help but But notice that What happened What's going on with Dexter I wouldn't say it like that I'd say hey man What happened to Dexter

No one's going to call you Why are you sending The holiday letter It's Christmas And then you realize There's no point In sending your holiday letters You know you I just take Dexter Completely out Just to save all the drama Don't even put him in there Dexter What happens if Dexter Finds out that he's not In the letters Maybe he shouldn't have Gone to jail Have the family portrait They're like Dexter Dot dot dot To be continued At a later date And then he just Ran out of ink Sorry Bye Dexter expects You know big things To change his life In 12 to 18 months Dexter's on Extended vacation Dexter's waiting Dexter has a big meeting Coming up next week To see what his future holds In front of a tribunal Yeah Secular's advice was Write the letter As you usually would And when you get To your incarcerated son

Say Dexter's taking Some time to rethink His future He sends you all his love You don't have to Go into any more detail No you don't So just completely Fabricate it The fabricate Just don't mention it I bet he's thinking He's probably thinking About his future Like yeah I'm sitting here I would tell the complete truth That's just Would you really Yeah I would say Dexter's got himself Put in jail Because he got Mixed up In the wrong stuff Put himself in jail That would be Like Jimmy He's got straight A's And he's got a nice job At the get and go Dexter Jail You could be clever about it You could say Dexter did not pass go Or collect $200 Dale rolled too many doubles That's cute but sad At the same time Dale rolled one too many doubles And he is now in jail And he lost his Get out of jail free card

On the subway Okay ready We got one more Okay One more real quick Dear Life from the Path My mom lives in an Assisted living community In the memory care unit During a recent visit I became upset With the care staff When they addressed my mom As granny Grandma And mama Mother struggles With time of day The day of the week And sometimes forget Who we are So I don't see the benefit Of using names Other than her own I think it's disrespectful Unacceptable And unprofessional When I asked the attendant To please address mom As Mrs. Smith Or Miss Ann She laughed and said Granny wouldn't Know who I was talking to If I call her by those names My siblings and I Took this issue To the director Who told us We shouldn't be hurt And that the staff Was showing our mom She is loved I'm interested in knowing

Your opinion on this matter She's not going to Remember it tomorrow Okay No no no That's like you could Call her monkey tail Because she's not You know the difference Walk out punching face So I don't remember tomorrow No big deal I don't see the problem Yeah but you I don't know Yeah I don't think They mean harm at all I think though If they're accepting The tens of thousands Of dollars That care for For grandma They'd better Honor the family Yeah like I Don't think there's Anything implicitly wrong With calling her mama Grandma Like I would probably Unless they're right Unless she won't answer to it Okay but yeah It'd be like Miss Anne And she's like I know we kind of Don't know like the context But if someone's like Hey granny come here Like that's not right Assume the context Best fits your argument So just put it

Whatever context If you need help With that that's how Troy works The way I look about this Is like why would they Go to the director If the name was like Hey mama what's going on Like if they were being Nice about it That would Like I don't see that Being a big deal But if they were like Mama or granny Or get over here That would be more of a reason To go tell somebody Like hey this is Disrespectful I don't like this Grandma's different than You old bird Or something Oh yeah But I mean any word Can be disrespectful In a certain context Well yeah you just Changed how they used it Like you could As if they If you said something sweet Like oh come here Tough acting We're going to the lunch hole Like just because You said it nicely Doesn't mean you Or just like you say Something nice to me And it doesn't mean It's nice

Oh hey stupid Oh hey stupid face Come here It doesn't work It's saying the baby voice It's cute No Like oh you stupid Come here Like I don't know I do that Like I think I probably call Other people's grandma's grandma You know like that's It's just I don't know I do I don't think I do I know I do What call other people's Grandma grandma Yeah I do that Not in my hands I don't come into contact With people's grandmas That often I call other people's Grandma's grandma Yeah I do that But it's only if they're cool There's certain Of my friends Of my My speed There's certain Of my friends moms Have you ever had anyone That says I'm not your dad Don't call me that I'm not your grandma Don't talk to me that way I called one of my friends Mom mom once

And then she was like I'm not your mom Joy This is my name And I'm like Oh I was just messing around She was like Okay it's all good It just makes me feel old I'm like alright Oh yeah you are kind of old I wasn't going to be like Oh yeah that's what The grave's for What? Not good This is just a formal family I'm like whoa Yeah I think they should Honor the family's wishes At least when they're there Yeah the family wants Yeah exactly When they leave In 64 days of the year When they're not there There he is It's whatever Yeah Christmas column Bohemus and Secular advice Mike Secular says Not knowing the national origin Of the attendance In your mother's care unit I can't be certain But you have encountered Maybe cultural differences In other cultures All that stuff may be acceptable While it made you uncomfortable If it didn't have the effect On your mom

You should take your cue From the director of the facility However because you have Formally requested That your mom be addressed By name Then you Your money And your pompous Arrogant respect Should be given As you've demanded Well there you go Did Secular really say Pompous arrogant No I threw that in On your account Dan I thought so Your money buys Whatever you want Mr. Play the cards I think they made A very very simple point And then tried to sound Really smart doing it Alright So I We're way running out of time So we can see If we can squeeze this in So I was at the I was at a church In Colorado this week Or last week And we picked up a CD It was his hits Greatest hits By Pastor Bruce Or Chuck I don't remember What his name is Anyway He had to do with

How do I know How do I know If I'm saved How do I know And I got a little Frustrated with the guy Because God bless him He kept saying things like We have the Holy Spirit Well how do you know You have the Holy Spirit Because you've been saved Well how do I know If I'm saved Because you got the Holy Spirit You know And I'm like spit it out Chuck So Practically I mean Like Biblically We are to have Assurances of our salvation The question is Is like If you are How do you know How do you know God says so And God doesn't tell lies And that's great But not everybody's saved Jesus says There's people that will come up to him And say Lord Lord And he'll say I never knew you And if they're saying Lord Lord They're acknowledging him as Lord You know That fits a lot of people But

But they're still not making it Because they didn't It wasn't in the heart So the question is Is like How do I know What should my life Is it Should my life look like something How do I know Me personally I know it says Somewhere in the Bible That you will know A tree by its fruit So I think When you start producing fruit That coincides with the Bible And what Jesus was like When your life And you notice that your life Is starting to produce That kind of That kind of effect on people And you're When you do something It has an effect For God's kingdom Then I think that's when you know When what you do Affects people for the kingdom of God That's when you That's when you fully know That That you're saved Yeah I would agree with that Also You have to go back a step And even just say If God If you've done everything God said to do In the context of salvation

Not like Fulfilled everything in the Bible And And you've Done everything He's asked to do For salvation Then to doubt him Is To doubt your salvation Is to doubt him You know So you just gotta trust If God said to do it And you did it You're there You know Now there's growth And there's development And maturing in Christ And growing into a fruit And that whole Growing into a fruit Growing fruit out of your life And that whole thing Watching God's Take over you more As you surrender more to him And that type of Type of thing But yeah A lot of it boils down to Your Sometimes Especially in the early years That you just have to accept Well Of course I am Because God said so And it's Kind of a simple thing But sometimes

Just like with your children Sometimes it's just Because you said so I think maybe Like a lot of times People will have Like the things That make them Doubt salvation Could be not feeling Something For example Not feeling in a special Either like something special At the time That you That you accept Christ Or Or even Like a closeness In the relationship Like warm Warm fuzzies In your God relationship Because You do have people Whose personalities Are like that And they seem to have This real We've kind of talked about This a little before But they have this real Kind of lovey Type of relationship Warm and fuzzies With God And then you can Look around And you just don't feel it I mean You don't feel like You're feeling the same things Other people are feeling

And it can give you The impression that maybe Maybe I'm not in the same place With God That those people are You know And I think That's one of the things That people can Have doubts from Is that They can see other people And say My life doesn't look like That guy's life Is it possible That I'm not saved As opposed to Where am I at In the process Am I continuing to grow Or am I used Completely differently There's people that just You know Have It's not A different relationship With God But like There's people that have Different relationships In general Like I'm not a hugger Aside from the fact That someone should Stay in my place And hug me And make me feel good Like I just don't I'm not that I just don't have A warm fuzzy

You know Type of feelings Toward people In relationships like that And like And my My relationship With God Is Is that same way Like it's It's not a Like I've I've had times Just like You know My wife is probably My best Count Same type of example Where like You know Yeah there are times When I'm particularly Emotional Or particularly close Or like feel Very lovey Or whatever But like It certainly isn't The majority of the time Like it's just a It's just a relationship Thing And so I don't know Is that alright Am I Is there Is there a possible Problem if I'm not Having those Those loveys

I don't think so You know I can say It's a faith thing And Our relationships Are As people are Different Like you say I mean I confirm everything You said But I had some Thought in there And it just kind of Flew out It's probably a lot Better to If you're not The spiritual Jumper Like you're running Around Screaming Yelling And all this Different stuff Dancing Like gig David I mean It's probably A lot better To do that Than try and Being like a Pharisee And just Running around Jumping Just because That's probably What people

Are going to Take notice This makes me Look like I have a Relationship This makes Me look like I'm a Christian And I Love God I'm going to Go running Around Not because I love God But because I want People to But also Isn't there Some obedience There I mean Isn't there Some Like this Is what God wants Me to do Whether I Whether I Always feel Like doing it Or not Like I Continue to Persist I don't You know If Maybe I

Don't feel Like reading My Bible Every day I'm tired Or whatever But like Are there Not times People do Those things Out of Obedience I think so Yeah And scripture Is real clear That our Our love For God Is shown Through Obedience To him I mean That It doesn't Say through Jumping up And down Hollering Screaming But through Our obedience But yeah It boils down To the whole Faith thing And if God Had enough Power to Save us And to Resurrect from

The dead And to Create the Universe And everything He's done Surely if he Says we're Saved We're saved You know There's still The responsibility To continue To grow Mature And everything Oh I know What I was Going to say You know We just went Through the Crazy love Series And that Caused a lot Of people To go Whoa You know They start Feeling guilty Well I Haven't sold My house And moved To Indonesia And lived In a foxhole You know Telling people About Jesus Maybe I'm

Not saved You know And even So sometimes Preachers can You know Present this Thing Because something They're passionate About And people Can on the Other side Of that As they're Receiving That information Maybe Not get it In this full Context Or full Meaning They just Get the Part to Make them Feel guilty Or something And get Some doubting And they Have to be Careful Go back To the Word Not just What some Guy's Passion is He might Be using

Legitimate Scripture And stuff But you Gotta look at The whole Council of God And not Everyone's Been called To sell Their house In Indonesia And you And you Especially Being in a Church Atmosphere If you Look around Sometimes You forget And this Is sad But sometimes You forget How far Other people Are from God Right Like when You're Church setting And it depends Who you're Hanging around But you look At people And you see Something going on In your life

And you're like I wish they Had that I wonder if It's a reflection Of my relationship With Christ You know You start to Become relative As far as You know Where people are At and how They serve And you forget How much Of the world How many of the People you know Are just so far Away from God Right Like you're not Getting a I feel like I'm giving the Wrong impression Here as if You see the Top tier guy And you're like Well I'm not that Guy so I must Not be saved Like there are People that Function differently In Christ's kingdom And doing different Things we talk About this like The guy scrubbing The toilets is the

Same as the Guy that's Preaching like You're working For Christ and That's awesome But sometimes You know You can look at You surround Yourself by Godly wisdom You surround Yourself by Godly people And sometimes By doing that It gives you A false impression Of distance from God because You know You see all You see this Perfection and You know you're Not living up to It and that's Where the Godly wisdom Is important Is to recognize That like You know You know You're going To fall short Like that's Part of the Wisdom That's part of The growth Is to understand Where you're at

And recognize Yourself when It says fall Short Not as a God's pointing The finger at You but he's Saying I know This about you I know this Is the way That it's Going to be I want you To recognize Yourself in Here as The person That is Falling short And as The same Person that I'm redeeming Through the Death of Jesus and Through you Know my Everlasting Fierce grace You know I'm saying It's just It's just A way For us To recognize The photograph Of ourselves Within the Bible Not to be

Painted as The person That sucks In God's Eyes And so I think That's I think That's Difficult I think Sometimes We allow The world To kind of Beat you up And then you Accept the world's Wisdom on where You're at Either you're Foolish Or You're falling Way short Or that There's just There's some Sort of Technicality That you missed Out on And then you're Going to be Screwed As if God Was like That I guess I've had Times in my Life too Where I look

And I think You know What if I Just didn't Do that One thing Right Or I Missed one Of the Steps I need to Reread Acts What were Those guys Doing They were Doing Something And then I Think The full Character of God As I look In the Bible That's not The God I serve He's not The inches Guy I don't Care whether It's an Inch Or a yard Or a hundred Yards My grace My grace My grace

And there's And there's Acts of Obedience But the Thing is If you Start with Grace And you Start with Heart That stuff Just flows That stuff Will come And you'll And you'll You'll bump And you'll Struggle But it'll Flow It'll flow Out on Its own And it Keeps us From doing Works based Stuff From saying Not saying What do I Do to be Saved But Through my Salvation Now what Will God Do And so I don't

Know I think It's tough I think It's tough For people I think It's tough Especially Because a lot Of times As people Need to be Pointed out The things That we're Not doing Right So that we Know where We're falling Short Without recognizing That those Are those Are iron Sharpening Iron Not necessarily Like me Putting you In a cave Because you Belong There Hammer Hitting Millen Yeah Hammer Hitting Millen Well I think we
