Segments
- Opening stocking-hat banter 0:02–1:51
The show opens with its produced intro music, then the hosts riff on a stocking hat worn on air, compare it to a Smurf hat, and trade quick jokes about the chat room while the studio settles in.
- Ben's show intro and tonight's preview 1:52–3:21
A host introduces himself as Ben, announces that Nathaniel Carson is in the studio, and previews the night's Secular-or-Solomon game along with the Christmas-gift topics to come.
- Grandpa's Christmas check for 'three girls' 3:22–5:41
A host recounts a Christmas quandary: his grandfather sent a $60 check memo'd 'for your three girls,' but the host has only two daughters. Mike got $40 for his two girls, implying $20 per kid, and the hosts debate whether to split the difference, give it away, or take the kids to see the Polar Express in IMAX.
- Pants the adopted family member, mic hair, and the lunar eclipse 5:43–8:28
The hosts note that Pants is 'like the adopted member of our family,' then spend several minutes on a long hair found on a studio microphone, joking about a 'mic check for hair.' The bit closes with lunar-eclipse and rapture jokes, including the line 'Bring on the Jesus.'
- Guest interview: Nathaniel Carson introduced 8:30–9:09
Nathaniel Carson is introduced as a student at Iowa Christian Academy and a sound technician at Pathway Church in Johnston, welcomed to the show, and asked about getting home late from his Walgreens shift the night before.
- The Shake Weight and as-seen-on-TV purchases 9:09–11:39
Nathaniel talks about his Walgreens job, the store's Shake Weight display, and whether he has tried it. A host puts the question to the chat: has anyone ever bought something off the TV, or been tempted to and talked out of it?
- Amish friendship bread rant and garbage trucks 11:40–15:10
A host rails against Amish friendship bread as a gift that is really just a chore, then the conversation drifts to garbage trucks: $70-a-month service, the mechanical claw, mini pickup trucks sent when a pickup is missed, and whether anyone has run their trash over to a neighbor's can.
- Walgreens Q&A: toothpaste dispensers, discounts, and the blood-pressure machine 15:11–24:07
A chat member named Allison bought a suction-cup toothpaste dispenser, sold at Walgreens for about ten dollars. Nathaniel fields rapid-fire Walgreens questions: the 15% employee discount, makeup and vitamins as top sellers, vitamin gum, soda-flavored lip balm, the 'quit your jibber jabber' shirt from his Uncle Joe, the old Osco rivalry, and the store's blood-pressure machine. A camera bit introduces the 'Mike Fan Club.'
- Walgreens bathroom lines and workplace service codes 24:08–35:04
The hosts compare notes on Walgreens bathrooms (one stall, security codes on the door) and trade stories about workplace intercom codes like 'IC3,' joking about customer-service announcements and what the codes really mean.
- Emailing corporations: bank deposits and restaurant complaints 35:05–38:53
After admitting 'So, I emailed,' the hosts discuss whether anyone has ever emailed a corporation seeking a change, covering an online bank-deposit feature request and restaurant complaint lines, and read chat responses.
- The bee in the Bebops burger: a childhood lawsuit plan 38:53–40:57
A host recounts his childhood scheme to sue Bebops after finding a bee in a hamburger: saving the bee, calling the restaurant, and the plan falling apart on the drive home. The story continues with an offer of the owner's phone number and a note that Bebops once grilled burgers under bridges to feed homeless people.
- Protective seals, food safety, and the Tim Cooper callback 40:59–43:35
A Halloween-candy story leads into food-safety talk about protective seals and tampering, plus a callback to a prior show's Tim Cooper bit and a mention of a friend being defriended on Facebook over hippo drawings and Freud.
- Secular or Solomon: thirteen rounds of the proverb game 43:35–1:02:56
The hosts play Secular or Solomon, the game where a saying is read and everyone guesses whether it is a secular proverb or one of Solomon's proverbs. Thirteen rounds cover hard-work sayings, Portuguese and Persian proverbs, a Chinese fish saying, and seven cited Proverbs passages (14:23, 10:12, 16:31, 25:17, 26:7, 22:13, 25:20), with the chat voting and Nathaniel serving as the in-studio tiebreaker.
- Caroling for sick children and the staff's response 1:02:57–1:04:47
The hosts recount going caroling for physically ill and disabled children: the staff warned the kids might hurt themselves, the carolers sang off key anyway, and the staffer touring them broke down crying, saying they had no idea what the visit meant. Nathaniel took part with his church band.
- Show promos, the newsletter, and the hipster Secular shirt 1:04:47–1:08:58
Mid-show business: livefromthepath.org, the newsletter (and a Tim Cooper correction), the YouTube channel, and Des Moines Amplified. A chat thread about the 'Secular dude's' shirt reveals the hosts pictured the Secular persona as a hipster and found the image by searching that word.
- Nathaniel's ten-year, five-year, and one-year plans 1:08:58–1:10:22
Asked what Nathaniel Carson will be doing ten years from now, he admits he is still working out his five-year plan; pressed on whether the radio show is the five-year goal, he says he will be doing it. His one-year plan: graduate from high school.
- The locked in-wall safe, Twinkies, and mock valedictorian speeches 1:10:22–1:14:49
The hosts obsess over a drilled-open in-wall safe found in a concrete basement and what might be inside, detour into whether Twinkies survive forever, then stage mock valedictorian speeches, including one for Nathaniel Carson, valedictorian of the class of 2011.
- The fake 3 a.m. time-slot announcement and its reveal 1:14:49–1:18:29
The hosts deliver the night's 'big surprise': the show is supposedly moving to 3:00–6:00 a.m. After letting the chat react with dismay, they reveal the announcement was invented as a newsletter surprise and was never real.
- Beatboxing bit 1:18:30–1:20:44
A host proposes 'let's rap for a minute,' and the studio breaks into an impromptu beatboxing exchange, with the chat noting someone had the beatbox going. The bit drifts into a joke about a Scooby-Doo van.
- The mock LFTP Christmas album commercial 1:20:44–1:25:14
A fake commercial pitches the 'latest hit Christmas album' from the Yule Breakers of Live from the Path, who 'sing over perfectly good Christmas songs' including 'All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth,' offered for the 'excessive price of 58 bucks.' The segment ends by teeing up the best-Christmas-present discussion.
- Best Christmas presents: model trains and the candy train 1:25:14–1:28:22
The best-Christmas-present discussion opens with model trains: a host describes rigging a train to circle back every few minutes and the idea of a candy train that dispenses treats, plus Jolly Ranchers snuck into school.
- Nathaniel's unicycle and juggling 1:28:25–1:32:31
Asked for his best Christmas present ever, Nathaniel names the year he got a unicycle. The hosts probe whether he can juggle while riding it (no, 'that's hard'), and the conversation expands into juggling technique, pedaling backward, and adding it to the five-year plan.
- The We Three Kings Nintendo Bible game 1:32:31–1:34:13
A host recalls the We Three Kings Bible video game, in which players guide the Magi toward Jesus and answer questions along the way, and the studio compares notes on the Nintendo-era Bible game.
- Disney World and the worst Christmas gifts 1:34:13–1:43:15
The discussion turns from a best present (Disney World) to the night's worst gifts: a shiny socket set, a fish killed by a marker-drawn sign, the Magic Bullet, homemade pesto, and the 'non-committer' gift. A host asks the chat the best gift they have ever given.
- Crockpots, the hot-chocolate taste test, tight jeans, and lifetime socks 1:43:15–1:52:03
Household comedy: owning three crockpots and not knowing what to cook in them, a failed plan to bring a crockpot into the studio, a hot-chocolate taste test with a secret ingredient (and a Matt Cassidy roast joke), jeans so tight they dictate wallet placement, and socks with a lifetime warranty that already have a hole worn in them.
- Freezing water, the wedding at Cana, and Jesus on John the Baptist 1:52:03–1:54:06
A bit about freezing cold water leads into the wedding at Cana ('that water the wine thing though') and a discussion of alcohol in the Bible, then Jesus' direct comparison of himself with John the Baptist: John came neither drinking nor eating and was called possessed, while Jesus came eating and drinking.
- The accidental Teddy Ruxpin profanity clip 1:54:06–1:55:20
The hosts play a clip introduced as a Teddy Ruxpin commercial, but the audio unexpectedly contains profanity. They cut it off, apologize on air, joke that 'at least we pre-screened everything,' and note the file was simply mislabeled. The moment is described here without quoting the explicit audio.
- Gifts for Jacob, the chia pet, and Nathaniel's car deal 1:55:20–1:57:31
Back on gifts: Nathaniel bought Jacob an Old Spice pack, someone received a Barack Obama chia pet, and the hosts revisit their promise to Nathaniel — Mike and Ben promised him a car if he got his driver's license, which he plans to do over Christmas break, though the hosts warn the 'vehicle' would be a real pile.
- Sign-off and next week's after-Christmas special 1:57:35–1:59:35
The standard LFTP sign-off: the show on Des Moines Amplified, livefromthepath.org, the newsletter, the podcast, the YouTube channel, a Facebook like, and Pathway Church in Johnson, Iowa (services at Wallace Elementary). Next week is the after-Christmas special on 'setting the right expectations,' with a callback joke about moving the church service to 3 a.m.

Full transcript
Live from North Street Studios, downtown Des Moines, you are Live from the Path. You're listening to Live from the Path on Des Moines, Amplified.com. Thanks for being with us tonight. I don't know what Mike is talking about. Mike. Mike. Mike. Were you just watching this thing off? I'm wearing… I did. We can't both wear a stocking hat. We both can. I had this on before you had it on. I'm going to tell you two things. One, they sell stocking caps to everybody. And two, you look like a homeless man, and I do not. What do they mean? You look like you wear your stocking hat to brave yourself from the elements because you live outside. I wear mine because it's stylistic. It's pretty styling. Yeah. It looks like a ladies cap. Thanks, sofa man. I appreciate what you said here. Let me say, I know style when I see it. There's one thing I know. The Dan knows. The Dan knows style. I get calls all the time. Hey, what do you think? What do you think this looks like? Does it look like a sofa? Wear it. I like it. Do you have a little curtain to go on the side? Those Hawaiian shirts, too. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Boy, you remember when Dan came back from Hawaii and he was wearing that really, really flamboyant Hawaiian shirt? Flamboyant is a solid word for it.
I was a flaming Hawaiian. Yeah, I'm a flamer. You are listening. Dan, you are listening live from the Path of Hawaii and Amplified.com. My name is Ben Foost. Thanks for joining us tonight. Coming up tonight, Nathaniel Carson is in the studio. We'll be talking with him a little bit later. Hey. Hi, Mom. How embarrassing. Oh, she just went offline. It's your big moment. She's under the name I Have No Son. I wish he would be prodigal. Then he would have left by now. So, we'll be talking a little bit with Nathaniel Carson. We will be playing the fastest growing game in Christian entertainment, and that is Secular or Solomon, in which we provide you a word of wisdom, and you need to tell me whether it is of the secular nature or whether it was from Solomon. And that will be coming up probably here in the late towards the first hour. I'm terrible at this game, just so you know ahead of time. It's going to be awesome. Nice. I tried it out on my wife a little bit. She's not very good either. Maybe in the future we can work in our guests, Nathaniel or Solomon. What would be a wise saying you could come up with right off the top of your head? What's the words of wisdom from Nathaniel? Go. Don't paint a wall white after it's been painted black. Deep. Yeah. Solomon. Obviously. I vote Solomon. It's got to be Proverbs. That's old school wisdom. Didn't even mention primer, so it's got to be Solomon. Non-VOC paint?
Not even that for thought. Solomon would have said VOC if he were modern. We also have some Christmas remnants. I am interested to know… What did you get for Christmas, Ben? I don't have it yet. I've not been given anything. Bummer. I don't think I'm getting anything. That's a bummer too. Yeah. Hopefully a new stocking. So here's it. Okay, so I'm in a quandary. So check this out. I don't know what to do about this. So my grandpa sends us money for the kids. They're buying… Yeah, this is a rook, I tell you. They're buying for the kids this year, right? So they send a check. The kids want dad to be happy. And so they send a check and it's for 60 bones. And the memo says, for your three girls. I only have two girls. Now, Mike also has two girls. He gets a check from the same grandpa, 40 bucks. 40 bucks. For his two girls. So he obviously intends to be 20 bucks a kid. Here was my suggestion. The women are a-talking, right? And I say, tell them they can take us out to lunch and we'll call it even. Since they got a free kid. Yeah. The answer was, ha ha. Yeah, what? 20 bucks? Yeah. I can't take you out to lunch for 20 bucks.
Me and the woman can eat for $20. Well, but then what? I'm not… Why would I use the 20 free bucks I got from grandpa just to buy you lunch? I didn't say, hey, let's all go. I just said, you can take us out to lunch. That's what I'm saying. But what does it benefit me to have done it? I think Solomon would probably add it all together and cut it in half. And give me 10? Yeah. I would say give it to Mike. So we as two families take advantage of my grandpa's miscalculation and profit equally? You could send out a Christmas letter, just the hymns, add one more child. Delilah's doing great, thanks. I didn't realize that's the way grandpa worked. I would have had seven kids by now. Boy, that bitter reminder really put me in the straits this year. What's that family with like the 18 kids? You can get a picture of them off the internet and send it back to grandma. Wouldn't it better demand to have a baby named Frodo? That's ridiculous. I'm not giving Frodo any money. That's a stupid name. So I think we're going to keep it. That's the problem is how do you send it back? I would assume it would be kind of embarrassing for him to realize that he didn't have the right number of kids down. I think you should give it away to a homeless man. Yeah. I think we're going to spend it. Let me think about it. Pants? No. Well, yeah. Did he send, did grandpa send you money? He might. Your grandpa counts at me as a kid? Everybody loves pants. Pants is like the adopted member of our family. People give him gifts and stuff and it's ridiculous.
Man. Yeah. So anyway. Yeah, I think we're going to hold on to it. I think we're going to take the kids to the IMAX to that, to try to see the Polar Express on the IMAX. Give it to the sound fund. Yeah. Sounds like we need to generate some cash. There's a really long hair on the microphone and it ain't mine. I don't know what to do about it. It's probably mine. How big is it? It's teasing me. It's coming after me. How big though? I bet in total, it's got to be five inches. It's best not to really look. Hey, I'm sorry. Can you give us just a quick five seconds? We'd like to do a mic check for hair. Go ahead and go about your business. I got a little piece off of mine. I got a little bit right down here. We're back. Hello. I don't have any. I'm clean. I don't even understand how this happens. Maybe somebody rubbed their head on the mic. Who's losing hair? Yeah, but why would they do that? Maybe their head was itchy. It's for good luck, you know. The good Lord gave you two arms and a shoulder and an ovens. And you're going to rub your face on a microphone? If you take the expensive piece of equipment and rub your face on it. What was that? Maybe their hands are cool. I really enjoy the guy that does it because it's a long enough hair. You have to turn your head to do it because I hope it's not like a nose dangler or something.
I pulled out some pretty long ones. I promised the woman I wouldn't talk about it. Yeah, sorry. I also made that promise. I also won't do it in the car or around the children and show them it's the thing to do or videotape myself or post that status on Facebook. It will never be known. Those are the things that I've agreed not to do. All right, so anyway, that's what we got. And the big surprise, the big surprise coming up. I can't wait. Yeah, I think we're going to probably… I'm so excited. We'll probably get it in in this hour. I think even this hour, big surprise. It'll be a bonus. Hang out for it. You guys going to hang out for the lunar eclipse tonight? You know, it looked pretty overcast. I don't think we'll see it. I guess it'll just get dark. We'll see it. I'm going to claim the moon has turned to sackcloth. Freak people out. Actually, that gets me quite a bit. Like, you'll see one of them red moons, and I think, yeah. The rapture. You idiot. You know, I didn't hear anything. That's a very good… That's a good… Oh, no, I didn't hear anything. Oh, no. Crap. Why are half my friends gone? I had this whole thing envisioned, and it's not how I expected it to go down. Man. Oh, no, yeah. Yeah, every time I see… Sometimes you'll look over, and the moon will be really low in the sky, and it'll be a really
dark red, and you thought, oh, no. And then I'll think, oh, yes. And I'll think, oh, no. Then you remember, oh, that's just pollution. Yeah. Never mind. We've been aerosol canning our way to this. Bring on the Jesus. He's coming, Phil. Keep at it. All right, so with us in the studio is Nathaniel Carson. Nathaniel is a student at the Iowa Christian Academy, a fine sound technician at Pathway Church in Johnson, and an overall upstanding human being. Welcome to the show, Nathaniel. Hi. It's good to be here. Okay, good. That was a 15-minute segment. We just kind of lost. Yeah, that's just out. I mean, I was really looking forward to this, being here. Did you sleep okay last night? I did. I slept a lot, actually. I thought maybe, you know, you were excited, nervous. Well, I got home from Walgreens pretty late, so. Oh, I forgot. He's a boy. Oh, yeah, you worked at the Walgreens. You're not just hanging out at the Walgreens. I like to go out to the Walgreens. Me and my buddies were at the Walgreens, and we got stuck by the Maybellina. Got some chocolate-covered peanuts. We got six RailVac batteries, a Lintz chocolate. But have you ever- Get some of those as-seen-on-TV stuff. Do you guys- Shake weight. Do you guys- Wait, do they have that at the Walgreens?
Yeah. Have you tried it? It looks ridiculous. I don't think it actually works. Because, like, in the videos, it's like, it works all these muscles. Some of the muscles- Well, yeah, so there's that little thing you just put around your waist and turn on, and it really does. The belt, they always show the guy in the 50s on this machine that looks like it's the runner. He's going to shake some of that. Wearing a 50s swimsuit, you know, that looks like a wrestling leotard. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I see- You know the product that we're talking about is it's like the weight that- We hold it, and it shakes your arm. Yeah, you're like- Yeah, that thing's wild. We had the men and women's shake weight. Did you take- Are they out and about, or do you have to unpackage them? They're out and about, yeah. So you could, like, race them, put one next to each other, and then say go? Yeah. I'd do that. That's cool. Dude, it's like a Yahtzee training tool, is what it is. It's like this, and then the dumpy. Hey-oh. If you're really into Yahtzee. I guess you've got to be a pretty big fan of Yahtzee to give this a good shot. For the traveling trip. I don't know. Who plays Yahtzee and goes, everyone's going to see that I throw like a guru. I wish I had to practice more. I don't even know how to play Yahtzee. Chat, has anybody ever bought anything off the TV? I guess now that I'm thinking about it. Like, have you-
So here's the question. Have you ever purchased something on TV, like off the television, or have you been really tempted but been talked out of it? I've done it. Allison, you have? Okay, wait. Allison, tell me what you bought. Dan, what did you buy off the TV? When the first shopping network was like hot, every once in a while we'd get on there and say, what can you sell on TV? And I bought one of those little vacuum pack. I don't know. They sucked me in. It's like, oh, we can put all the food in there and suck all the air out of it. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. The vacuum seal. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we probably used it three times. I don't know. It was pretty stupid. I don't know. It seems pretty cool. I was pretty excited. Cheryl was like, what did you do that for? Wait, does it- It doesn't work? It worked? Oh, you just don't- Can I have it? It's kind of a pain. It's like, okay, let's get the machine out. Let's get the plastic out. Or you could just get the little thing out of the cabinet and put a lid on it. Or you could throw it away. Or you could throw it away. Yeah. Can I have it? Well, that was years ago. It's like- I don't know.
Yeah, it's all gone. Is it in your Lazy Susan or something? You know, it could be in a box somewhere. I don't know. I've never unpacked it. If you come across that and a bread maker, I'd like it. Christmas is on my way. We have a bread maker. Do you use it? Not very often, no. Can I have it? Well, I think we're going to start using it again, because- Just so I can't have it? No, like- For the sprouts. It's Christmas. We heard you wanted it, so we thought we'd start using it. My brother's making sourdough in the fridge or something like that, and it's like, he's going to use it. Oh, yeah. That sounds all right. We had to start a Live in the Path friendship bread little thing going. Why do you got to say crap like that? I thought you were going to say, like, men's breakfast club. No, friendship bread. Well, sourdough just made me think of the friendship bread. You get a little packet. I tell you, there's nothing that irritates me more than that. Every once in a while, I used to come home, and there'd be, like, this Ziploc bag full of, like, batter in it. And it's like, I've given you an Amish friendship bread to blah, blah, blah. I'm like, what is this? I can buy bread. That's a lot of work. It's a dollar for the bread. A dollar. It's like giving you a hassle. Here you go. Here's some work to do. Here's a real pain in the butt.
Work on it for a week or two. And then harass someone else with it once you get the batter. It'll make your counter dirty for two weeks while you let it ferment, and then you can go ahead and cook it. I brought you these chickens. You've got to collect the eggs and feed them every day, but, you know. Yeah. It's like me taking my garbage out over to the neighbor's house and going, here, I brought you some garbage. You can run it out to the trash if you like. Thank you. Sounds pretty awesome. We'll be friends that way. Have you ever had too much garbage fit in the can, and you run over the neighbor's throat in there, can? I've done that before. I've been tempted. No, yeah. You've never done it? No. I just be afraid. It's a wild feeling. Oh, yeah. Wow. Talk about… At night, put the dark stuff in here. You're the suburban rebel, right? So, in your comfortable suburban life, you pretty much shy away from most major crimes and general tomfoolery, but when no one's out and about and you've got one extra bag of garbage, oh, you're in. Oh, it's… It's like, they're paying for it. You know, they're not doing anything. Well, somebody's paying for it. You know, how many unused garbage dollars are there out there? Oh. Yeah, and you know what? The man in the truck with the mechanical fork, laughing all the way to the bank. That's right. He takes that…
That was only half full. He owns the company. They don't even have employees. Everyone is part owner at the garbage company. That's right. Look, it's the old lady who barely has any garbage. $70 a month. I love that claw. That's so cool. Actually, I saw somebody who's got some kind of mini garbage that I assume must be some kind of old person who's got… I mean, it's the same height, but it's half the thing. Yeah. They probably recycle and stuff. Have you seen the garbage guy that comes out if they forget your garbage? Like, if the guy forgets to pick yours up, and you call him, they send a little mini truck guy out, and he's got the same apparatus, but it looks like a clown car, and he goes… Awesome. And it's not loud or anything. I don't know. The whole thing looks really hokey. He goes… And then it barely works. He's got to shake it and jazz and kick it, and then he puts it back. I saw him a couple times when I was out at the east side. It was funny. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't call the garbage company if they forgot my garbage. I'd just put it back out next week. I do that all the time. I always forget to put my garbage up. You don't produce enough garbage in one week to… Oh, no. We do, but I just would be like, I'm not going to… I don't even know their phone number. It'd just be a big pain. It's just… I don't know their phone number. I'm not going to have to look up and call. Does that stop you doing a lot of things? Hey, there's a man robbing the house.
I don't know the police number anymore. You know what? Just let them have the stuff. We've got plenty of room with the jokes. It's usually some big corporation, you know, and you're going to call so-and-so. They link you to someone else, and they transfer you to someone else. And he's like, just pick up my garbage. Man. I just don't get that worked up. That's what I'm saying. I know how to stop Daniel from… You know. Just make it appear like it might be half a hassle. Next, I tell you what, we should go over to his house, and we'll put a medium-sized rock in between him and the mailbox, and see if he gets his mail. Oh, man. Oh, no. It's a rock. I've got to call the pool boy. When's Daniel coming home again? Spring breaks in March. Yeah, we can wait that out. Hi, Daniel. This is Dad. Look, can you pick the mail up when you come back to town? There's a rock in front of me. You're really having a hard time. Man. I don't know. So Allison has purchased a toothpaste holder. It has suction cups to hang on the mirror, and you put a tube of toothpaste in it, and it pumps out on the toothbrush. I've seen this thing. Those are cool. We sell those at Walgreens. Yeah. How much for you are for that at the Walgreens? I think it's like $10.99, something like that. $9.99.
I bet that's it. Is it battery-operated? No, he just… No, it's a hand pump. You just stick your toothbrush in there, and it pumps it out for you. How does it do that? Where's the energy coming from? Yeah, it's moving the… It's you. You're pushing the… Oh, gotcha. You're pushing it in, and therefore it's going… It's kind of like a fulcrum. Oh, okay. You get me? Seems like a lot of work. It's a real hassle, Dan. You wouldn't want to be involved in it. I don't want to look that word up. So, okay, what would you say is the average purchase at Walgreens? What kind of stuff do people go buy at Walgreens? They have a little bit of everything. Yeah, they do. Is there anything like just like, wow, there's a run on butterscotch mints or something today or… I'd say the most is either makeup or vitamins. Really? Yeah. Vitamins? Like multivitamins or specific vitamins? Yeah, like multivitamins. Not like specifically like fish oil or K-12? Well, yeah, they have that too. Omega 3s? You see, like if it's buy one, get one free, a lot of people come in and buy their Omega Fish Oil 3.
You run a buy one, get one free on Omega Fish Oil? Yeah, every like once a month or something like that. Okay, happening. So do you have to know all the coupons so that you're up to date? You have to wear that vest? What? You have to wear that blue vest? I wear it. Usually I wear a blue polo, but the other day it got wet, so I came in with a vest on. Wait a minute. Story! How did it get wet? Did you fall down? No. Oh. The toothpaste dispenser went a little crazy? I think something happened in the bathroom upstairs and like something was leaking or something like that. This isn't getting any better. And then like it came through my ceiling and my shirt's wet. Oh, so it was a regular home repair incident. Yeah. That sounds like a serious one. Yeah. Hey, do you sell vitamin gum at your Walgreens? Yes. Have you tried it? No. Because the chat's giving a rave review, so it's pretty good. Vitamin gum? Yeah. We also have vitamin lip balm. I don't know how that works, but… You guys sell that chapstick that tastes like soda? Yeah.
That stuff is the business. I don't like it. Why? I've had a Dr. Pepper one, though, a few years ago. I thought it was pretty cool. I saw a Mountain Dew one. I had to put it back, though, so I didn't know where it went. Well, you can't very well try it without purchasing it, I'd say. I think that is a confirmation. Mike, you got the hair, right? You got that hair off that microphone? I just found another one. There was two. Do you get a big discount? Can you get the camera on these guys? Yeah, yeah. They're on them. Hey, what's up? How are you guys doing? Hello. Hey, fella. Hello, friend. Hi, you, man. Hey, man. Man, that was an awkward moment. That was something. I didn't know it was going on behind me. Mike's fans. It happens every once in a while. Oh, it's Mike! I don't know what to tell you. I've known world-renowned. Who are those people? It's the Mike Fan Club. Did you see the signs? I knew one out of eight of them. Sweet.
Yeah. That's one more than I knew. Did you get that hair, though? That's the third one. I'm concerned about it. I found another small one. It was… There it goes. It was on my fingernail. Nope. It's in his final resting place. Congratulations. Better leave it be. That's sad. Mm-hmm. All right, moving on. Yeah. So, do you get a discount? I get 15% off. Ooh, so if I want to get, like, a toothpaste dispenser, I could give my list to you, get all my Christmas shopping done, get 15% off. Do you get that plus the coupons? Yes. Oh, man. And if it's Walgreens brand stuff, we get 20% off. Holy moly. That's the business. I purchased an awful lot of cough drops from them through the years. Do you sell, like, Walsh Armin or anything? Yep. Discount bone paper? I'm just saying I could use a lot. I think we do, but it comes in individual things. Nah, forget it. Not a big old package. This sounds like a hassle. I'm out of here. Dan Hudson style. I don't buy toilet paper that's wrapped like that. It's kind of like that bread that's double-wrapped.
I mean, I don't need that much blocking me. I want this bread. I want it now. They're only, like, 50 cents a piece, though. Whatever. They're not very expensive. It's excessive. Because they're of low quality. Is that what you're saying? Yeah, I think so. So did your parents do a lot of their Christmas shopping at Walgreens this year? I don't actually know. I did. I bought stuff for my family from Walgreens. Can you tell us now? Because they're probably not listening. My parents are. But they already know what they got. Oh. You know, that's kind of a… That kind of stinks about having a job and all. Then you've got to start buying Christmas for people. Yeah, that's what I thought. I'm going to quit. That's a drag. I got a whole bunch of stuff off the clearance stuff, though. So. Well, that's… Now, don't say that. That's pretty unclassy of you. Oh, look. That's cheap. Mama loved that. You're a real class actor, though. Nothing says love like cheap. So I was passing by the dumpster the other day. Less expensive than the normal stuff. Mama loves a bargain. Yeah, I spent a total of $8.99 on my beautiful, lovely wife of 25 years for Christmas this year. What is it?
Well, I can't say. She may be on. She's not. Dan, she gave up a long time ago. Yeah. After that whole chud fiasco. She stopped watching. What does your shirt say? The chat wants to know what your shirt says. Quit your jibber jabber. That's not how it says it. Say it how he would say it. Quit your jibber jabber. A bit of a fool who doesn't quit his jibber jabber. That's a pretty long shirt. Yeah. It doesn't say that. It just says quit your chat. Actually, it's weirdly. It's oddly punctuated. It says quit yo, and then it's dot, dot, dot. Jibber jabber. So as if he were to go quit yo. Jibber jabber. Squirrel. Like it's jibber jabber. Maybe he's got some kind of attention deficit thing. I'm just saying. Mr. T, that's why his hair looks like he does. He got halfway through cutting it. He's like. What was I doing? I'm done. I was brushing my teeth. Where's that dispenser? He's like 63 and his mohawks receding now. Oof. A receding mohawk. Maybe that's why his punctuation's off. Yeah.
He forgot his phrase. Quit yo. Pity the. I'll be back. It's dino. Ooh. It's dino. Jibber jabber. Did you get that at Walgreens? What was that baby? No, I got it from my uncle. That's better than Walgreens. Donut. Donut uncle? Yeah. Okay. I'm with you. Yeah. Uncle Joe. Uncle Joe. Hey, have a whole bunch of shirts. He's excellent. Wait, is that like he has them because he bought them or he was trying to get rid of them and you were the beneficiary? I think he was trying to get rid of them. Okay. He previously wore that jibber jabber shirt? Yes. That's cool. Who was Walgreens in the big Osco? Was it Osco and Walgreens kind of a big battle a few years ago? Not Osco. They were like right next to each other. They were building right next to each other the whole time. Pretty much the same thing. Osco went out, didn't they? Yeah. One of them went out. Was it Osco? Ooh, the CVS.
Yeah. Where's the CVS? Down on the Euclid. Well, there was another one. They were like all over town. They were like, hey, it was Osco drug. Then all of a sudden they'd build Walgreens. You know, I thought this isn't going to last. And I was hoping to buy one of those buildings and put our church in there. Yeah. They were expensive. Yeah. I'm sure they get pricey. I'm like, come on. It's out of business. It's not worth anything. Give it to me. Put us by the Walgreens. Give it to me. Old people tithe. Old people tithe. $2 medication equals bump up that tithe. Thank you, Medicaid. We got coupons for everyone. The 20% goes in the offering. Come on, Ethel. You want to hold church in a pharmacy, don't you? Plus, we got a hookup at the Walgreens. And a free blood pressure machine. You do that every night? What? The blood pressure machine? I don't think we have one in our store. Whatever. What? That's one of my favorite things. You're not a legitimate Walgreens. That's what I do every time I go. Yeah. Especially when I'm waiting for the John.
Because there's only one stall in the Walgreens. So if I got to go, I sit down at the blood pressure machine and hang out waiting for the guy. We might have it back by the pharmacy. I wouldn't want any more pressure in the system. I don't usually go back there. Whoops. Stay away from the blood pressure machine. What are you trying to say? I soiled myself while I was doing it? I missed that part. Yeah. That's kind of what we're getting at. Yeah. Kind of squeezing it out. Yeah. Like if you're… It's on my arm. If you're waiting… You've got to really go. If you're waiting for the bathroom… Let go of my arm. I've got to pee. If it's got to go so bad, you're going out of Walgreens. You've got to go. I tell you what. There's been more than two times I've stopped at the Walgreens to go to the bathroom and realized that it's so convoluted to get in there. Like they have to get the key from the guy and they let you go in there and then the lady stands guard and then you've got to give it back to her. Wait, they lock it at the Walgreens? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Really? Yeah, it's an employee. Nathaniel, what a prison. You'll have that at a Walgreens. You can just walk in. Oh, no. They're very tight-lipped at the Walgreens I went to. Oh, man.
Yeah. They also sold handguns. They call it a Code 100. Is that true? No. Ellis, is that true? They really call it a Code 100? Because that's funny. Do you guys have secret codes? Yeah, we do. Give me an example of three of them. IC3. That means there's more than three people on the line, so you need another register. Ooh, that's pretty good. Who thought of that one? I don't know. That's just what they said in the training video. So use it. IC3. Was there a PowerPoint presentation? I see something red. IC3. Look for three people. I'm sure there's a catchphrase to it. We like to use the look, catch, and count method. Look, catch their eye, and count them. But don't make it obvious. One, two, one. You're number three. Dang it. I'm coming. No, I've got to call the mic. IC3. Scratch that. IC2 and a Code 100. Get a service 10. That means you need more like quarters or something. Wait, with a $10 bill? Yeah. What if I need nickels?
Is it different? No, it's the same. That seems confusing. You can just say for a roll of change or something. How do they know what you need? Yeah. I don't know. They just bring up change. Just bring everything. Yeah. They can alter that a little bit. The guy just like rolls everything. Like at the casino? He's a cigarette salesman. He's like the guy. He doesn't do anything else but bring change up. He's dressed like a money bag. He's got like a dollar bill hat and a dollar bill suit. He comes rocking out. Like that guy on nickels? It's probably that guy on the TV who says there's free government money with all the question marks on it. He's always on late at night. He's always screaming. Thousands of government programs. I got nickels. I got quarters. What do you need? Dimes? Service 10. Service 10. That's 1-800-SERVICE-10. I see four. Oh no. Four. We don't have a code for that. Somebody leave. Let me call my manager. I don't know what to do with this. I have no protocol for this.
I can't believe they call it a code 100 when someone needs to use the john. That seems like overdramatic. I've never heard of that. Allison says they… Now, Allison, have you been responsible for a code 100 at your Walgreens? Does Allison work at a Walgreens? No. She goes to one. As a matter of fact, she hasn't been to a Walmart in four months because Walgreens is just at the end of the block. They're pretty convenient. You have. She goes to one of the fairgrounds. I've been to that one. That's the one that I'm talking about with the locked out bathroom. Isn't that kind of awkward? They call out a code 100. Allison, I went to that Walgreens. Does it have like a big huge key chain on it so they can all see you like a body break and there's a picture of a dude constipated holding himself at the blood pressure machine and he's real sweaty. The tag says, I'm in the streets. Please help me. Keypad. I see. ACP. I don't understand. Why do they do that? Like, what is it that people were doing in the bathrooms that they have to lock the doors? Well, they could be stealing things. What, do they get into the sink? I mean… They could bring merchandise in there with them that's like wrapped up or something and take it out and then… Hollywood Video did that too. Of course, they're not around anymore. But you'd have to… It was like an act of Congress just to use their bathroom. Yeah, but why? I don't know.
I mean, not to get into grotesque detail, but there's only so many things you could be doing nefariously in that bathroom. I like to lift up the ceiling tile and see what's going on up there. Hey, you know what they sell? If you go to… What is it? Still to say? If you go to thinkgeek.com, they sell this little thing. A little noise maker and it makes scary ghost sounds and wind brushes and stuff. And it just goes on its own every 25, 30 seconds. And so people were buying them and putting them up in ceiling tiles in public places and just leaving them up there. And then people would go in there and get real freaked out and tell the management and stuff that there's something weird going on in the bathroom. That's kind of cool. It is. Do you ever get freaked out? They might have one of those goofy little tiny cameras. Yeah. Then I think, well… Whatever. Yeah. Yeah. If this is what it does for you… What do you want me to do? Here it comes. Bring my own sensor balloon. Uh-oh. Okay. What are we on? We've got IC3, Service 10. What's that? What else? Service 11. Wait. Hold on a second. Here he is. Here's the guy. Government money programs to help make their millions and you can too. I'm Matthew Lesko.
And you've probably seen me on Oprah, Larry King, or Letterman talking about government money programs. Oh, my new… It's all right. I've only got to see him in here so I enjoy it. Programs you could use to change your life. You could get a better job, get an education, or start your own business. Next year, the government's going to give out over $350 billion. You've got to get a Mr. T haircut. And also a microloan. The government gave me money to live on for six months while I started my own business. Oh, man. That's terrible. I feel ripped off. What TV people… Yeah, that's my money. Exactly. Quit giving it to that guy… Give me that back. …in the van. I'm working two jobs to pay your stinking sitting around thing. And did you see how crazy that dude was getting down? Imagine, like, in all actuality, he's standing in front of the Potomac River with a camera guy, acting like a complete doofus wearing a question mark suit. Yeah. Like, you really have to have some self-esteem to go stand out in the middle of nowhere and act like that wearing that suit. Actually, some of the funniest things on TV is where, like, you see something going on and then you imagine what it looks like peripheral to that, right? Like, you're just seeing what the camera's capturing. But let's say you were standing on the, like, outside of that. The dude walking by. Yeah. Like a bunch of buffoons out there making, you know, apes out of themselves. That's classic. He's laughing all the way in the bank, though. I mean, they keep airing. This was obviously working. People are buying it. He keeps paying.
What was Service 11? Sorry. Oh, yeah. That's, like, the same as Service 10, but there's a customer waiting. Oh. So 10 is just the lazy man's change and 11 means put the stamp on it. Well, if there's not a customer waiting, couldn't you just say, hey, Frank, I need some change, man? Why do you have a code for it? Why do you have to go over the intercom? I don't know. That's just what they tell me to do. Some kind of big boss man. So what do you do if you see someone's shoplifting? I alert management and then… But how? Is there a code? No. I don't think so. I think they just tell them that. Security, camera four. What? There's codes for change, but not for a guy heisting stuff? There might be. I don't know. I don't know it. Above your pay grade, huh? Yeah, I guess. Man. Okay. I just, you know, tell them to call me on the little thing. Well, I mean, I would much rather go code heist. That's a code red-handed. Yeah. As opposed to, like, I need change. Like, one seems way worse than the other. Yeah, really. You go, Black Swan, aisle three, Black Swan. There's a guy. Putting stuff in his jacket.
The pineapple screams at midnight. So what would you do if you saw someone stealing? Have you seen it? Have you witnessed it? No. I kind of take that personal. Have you ever seen anyone shoplift? Daniel? Myself. Apart from you back when you were seven. I was ten. Through ten. My friend. Yeah, actually, I remember at Target one day, some guy, kind of a creepy-looking guy, he took his shirt off, put a tank top on, and then put his shirt back on over it. And I went and told him, hey, this dude over here just stole your shirt. And they're like, they just didn't know anything about it. Wait a minute. He was bare-skinned? No, no. I mean, he just took his shirt off. Put a new shirt on from a tank top, and then put his shirt back on over it. Oh. So it just looked like he was wearing a T-shirt. Like right in the middle of everywhere? Right in the middle. Just right in the middle of the aisle. Oh, that's pretty bold. Yeah, I was like, dude, you're, yeah. Huh. Hmm. I've seen some pretty clever beer runs go down. Like some dude created a diversion, and then some other guy come in, take a 24 can or whatever, and put it underneath his trench coat and haul out. Like I watched the whole thing down, and it was smooth. Like it was a really smooth operation. And I thought for a minute, I thought, boy, I almost even hate to tell on these guys, because this was well-planned. Like it just went really well. But then they left, and I said, that kid just stole a 24 can of booze from me.
And they're like, yeah, they do it all the time. There's really nothing we can do. I said, oh, okay. Well, I'll have a 20-ounce soda and a 24-pack of booze. I'll sell it to them. Hey, Stacy's got a good point. I mean, that's a, a 24 spot's a pretty big box. How do you not notice that? It's a trench coat. Is that why? No, I mean, still. Still, yeah. You can have something sticking out of the trench coat. Well, you don't hold it oblong style. You put it flat. Hello, elephant man. And plus, if you're doing it in a swift move, like, I mean, they're used to seeing people holding 24 packs in the gas station all the time, because people are always, you know, legitimately buying them. So, this kid just kind of opened it up. It was a one solid movie. Opened, grabbed, in the trench coat, walked out like he'd just paid for it. Huh. It was smooth. It was a smooth operation. Okay. I bet you couldn't do it. I bet I couldn't. I bet I couldn't. You would, you would get outside the quick trip and you would fall down and weep at what you'd done. I wouldn't. You were guilty. I wouldn't. Yeah. I would stride out and then come back in and say, I want to make this right. And then I'd give him a 15, 15 bones. I don't know what beer costs. I don't know what beer is. I'll pay.
I'll pay a full price. And here's a couple extra for you. That's another one. I'm not allowed to sell booze at the Walgreens because I'm not 21. So, I have to say service 21. Oh, that's embarrassing for you. Yeah, a little bit. Wait, do you get to leave the area or do you just have to step aside? I just have to stand there. Like, sometimes it takes the managers a while because they're doing something else. So, it's just me and the dude looking at each other like, well. Yeah. This guy's like, I really want my booze. And you're like, I can't help you. Yeah. I'm little. I'm too young and innocent to sell you a liquor. You have to be 18 to sell booze. I know. But, like, Walgreens does, like, I don't know. They're extra protective. Because they don't want you giving it to your buddies. Something. Yeah. I bet that's it. I suppose so. Yeah, that's probably it. Some lady, she was like, you think they're going to drink it while it's up here or something like that? They think you're going to drink it? I don't know. I don't know what they think. I'm not one of them. I haven't asked them. What are you thinking, sir? I'm not in corporate. You're not part of the man. So, I emailed. Okay. Here's a good question. Have you ever emailed a corporation, like, looking to get some kind of change made?
Ooh. Well, yes. I did this week. I did. I was so irritated. Like, I wasn't. No, it was irritated was the right word. So, I got a bank account. This is a shade. You know, it's not a level. So, I come into some checks. Christmas money from grandparents. And I think, I should make a deposit to bring the bank account up to sturdy. So, oh, no, it was a different check. Anyway, so, there was a thing on the side, on the left-hand side of this bank, online banking. It says, make a deposit. And I think, cool, man, that you can deposit online. And I've read about this, where they'll let you scan the check in, and you upload it, and then they look at it, and they cash it. So, I think, sweet. So, I don't stop at the bank. I come home, and I click to make a deposit. And I can't remember the exact wording, but it's like, making a deposit online will allow you to do blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You can't do it yet. But it's in, like, the row of stuff, the actions, things you can do. And it doesn't tell you when it will be available. And it pitches it as if it's available right now. So, I sent him an email. I said, basically, it was tacky to put up there as if it was available when it's not available. And the response was, it's still in, like, the beta testing phase. We'll let you know when it's ready. Let's just say, like, it's a whole brand new kind of slick functionality that's available that they're going to put for the website. And they put it up there like you can do it. And then all it is is some propaganda about what you could do if it were available. Yeah. I was pretty irritated. Because then I had to go to the brick and mortar and cash the thing, and I wasn't like it. The brick and mortar. Man. I didn't like it. Man, I was like, I'm just saying.
I'd have been disappointed if it had closed already. Or did you go the next day? No, I had to wait. It was like 7 o'clock at night. Make deposit. I think, heck yeah, click, click, click. This propaganda really irritated me, too. They made no defense of themselves. Like, oh, mistake, or we'll take it down. We don't care. Emailing companies is just about the biggest waste of time. Like, they honestly will go back with the most. In fact, the last person I emailed, I emailed the restaurant because I was disappointed with some of the changes they made. And blah, blah, blah. I said, you know, I've been going here for over 15 years. Blah, blah, blah. You know, it was this. Now it's this. I'm not very happy. Blah, blah, blah. You know, I know things got to change. You think you got to change your business model. I understand that. If you're just going to send me some kind of form letter and say, thanks for your continued business, keep it. You know, I didn't get a response. They didn't write me back. They said, well, okay. It's been three weeks. They're like, well, I guess all we got is a form letter. So this guy gets nothing. I think my mom emailed, like, Pizza Ranch or something like that. And they sent us a gift card. Really? Yeah. Sweet. Is she going to share? I think we already used it. Because we're not invited. I guess not. Even when the Carsons have free food, we're not invited.
Thanks. Thanks, Mom. The woman says she emailed Hy-Vee a few years ago because she felt like they were unclear or untruthful about how much of the profits went to the Scan Away Hunger Program. I remember that. She was not very happy. I also remember her calling somebody about some dance studio because she felt like the girls were, like, dressed in a harloty fashion. Oh, yeah. That's why her daughter stopped dancing. And so she called. Like, she let her know that she did not approve of them dressing like that. Yeah. I like it. Yeah. Take a stand. Hey, Stacy's got a bank where you can take a picture of the check with the phone. And it puts it in. Wow. That's happening. I love that. That's spiff. Yeah. Wish I could do that. Spiff? Yeah. Do you have a phone with the picture-taking abilities? I don't have a phone. Do you have a checking account? Yeah. Ooh. What do you do with all your money? What do you do with all your money? Hey. You're probably loaded. What do you do with your money? Where's your money? Hey. Hey. Service 10. You remember when I was going to sue Bebops? Oh, yeah.
I was 10. What? I found a bee in my hamburger. A dead bee in there. Really? Yeah. So we get home, right? And I'm getting ready to enjoy my delicious hamburger. 10. I take a bite of it. I say, it's a bee. Bees don't taste very good. Oh, man. And I didn't actually bite him. I, like, got half his wing. And I noticed him. And I thought, this is helpful. I said, Mom, I'm going to sue these. I'm going to sue Bebops. He said, go ahead. Good luck, son. So I called a lawyer. 10 years old. I love it. Hey, man. Bebops said, blah, blah, blah. I found a bee in it. Call me right back. I waited days. Lawyer man does not call. I called him again. I said, Mom, this lawyer's not working. She said, call another one. I said, okay. So I called a different lawyer. Until finally they came up, and one lawyer actually talked to me. He said, look, son. Your beef is with Bebops. We can't sue them for one bee. You need to call Bebops when they're probably going to just ignore you because you're a little kid.
I said, right. Thanks, man. What makes you think that? I appreciate your honesty. Are you talking to him over the phone? Yeah. Yeah, the lawyer. When I finally come to realize, and it's not until I was an adult that I thought, wow, that's pretty cool a mom to tell me to call a lawyer. You know, she didn't say, no, we're not going to do that, or you shouldn't. She just said, well, go ahead if you're going to sue them. Stop bothering me with it. Get on the phone. Not my problem. Get somebody to do something about it. When I was 10, I wouldn't even thought of suing someone. Oh, I was going to litigate. Boy, I thought it was going to turn our lives completely around. You got one of those question mark jackets. Things are going to look up for the foos. I would just ask for a new burger. Yeah. I didn't do that. We'd already driven home, and the Geo Metro only gets around every once in a while. I still have one of the owner's phone numbers if you would like to contact him. The Bebop? Yeah. Will they give us a free burger? We tried that. I know they had done that before with Fuller. They're good friends. And they did a bunch of feeding homeless people under bridges, and they'd take the grill out, and they'd just take it out of the truck, and grill Bebop's burgers, and give it to them. The fry-a-lator. A few years ago. I love it. Yeah. I remember when I … They used to tell you … When we were talking about Halloween candy at one time, and they used to have the … The wives were afraid that there was going
to be a razor blade in the apples, or whatever there was. Oh, yeah, yeah. But one of the other things going around was that if that protective seal was gone from the milk, there's somebody that goes around, takes it out, poisons it up, and then puts it back. So I bought some milk from Fairway, what was the chocolate milk from Fairway, and I opened it up, and the seal wasn't there. And I just … Kind of just sitting there on the kitchen table, we're looking at it. It mocks you. Like the skull on the poison thing is going to slowly show up floating around in the liquid. And then we called them, and I don't know what Gooda did … I can't remember if I called them or my mom called them. I don't know what they were going to say about … Like, they can identify this particular jug of milk. Like, oh, yeah, that's the one where we took off the protective seal and put it back. Do you remember 4, 4, 7, 3, 8, 7, 1, 6? Oh, yeah. That's the one. Sure, absolutely. Why would you even take the seal off? Like, can't you just do that with needles and crap? Yeah, I would assume … I like that every social anarchist that's out there that's trying to poison humanity is terrible at it. Like, he's doing things like taking off the protective seal. Or like, he cuts the whole top off the … They'll never catch me. Hiding a razor blade in the side of an apple, I'm sure. It's the same guy driving the garbage truck. Exactly. He's bitter. Dude with the business cards with the stuff on it. No? Okay. Never mind. Sorry. All right. We really had something going there. Killjoy. Well, I killed it. Don't worry.
Dan will tell you how I feel. Get used to it. Here's what you do in this situation. You have an awkward smile. Is your mom large? That was classic. What was that all about? I can't remember. That was going on the highlight reel. Yeah. If you didn't catch it, so we were … This was last week. We were in studio with Tim Cooper and Friends, and Tim draws hippos. That's right. Yeah. So he draws hippos, and we're talking about we're going to hear Tim Cooper and Fred sing, and then we're going to be on the psychoanalyst couch with Tim Cooper. Dan, I think what Dan was thinking of was when you get someone on the psychoanalyst couch, you ask them about their mom, the Freud thing. Exactly. And he's trying to connect Dr. Freud and the hippo drawings. And his question was, is your mother large? Really went over well. Thanks for holding it back. Friends forever. He defriended me on Facebook. Oh, man. All right. So, all right. As promised, everyone's … I mean, seriously, this game is sweeping the nation. It is the Christian game that's taken the waves. Is it an online game or a board game? It's available only on Life in the Path during the show. Oh, and it's … We should make a board game. Sell it. It'd be the best. Please don't undercut what I'm making available by saying it should be something else. Sorry. Hours and hours have gone into this. Available only to you, the Life in the Path listener, online here at Life in the Path,
and we call it Secular or Solomon. All right. You ready? That's beautiful. That was good. Oh, man. I saw him flexing his pecs there. I can't take it. I love that dude with the glasses. Oh, man. The Johnny Secular. He's killer. Those glasses are … All right. So, here's how … Excuse me. Here's how this game works. All right. I'm going to give you … We're going to give you a phrase, okay? A word of wisdom. This is for the chat, right? Yeah, this is for the chat. We're going to give you a word of wisdom, and you need to tell me whether it's from Solomon or from Proverbs or whether it's secular from another source, okay? And, unfortunately, I can't see the chat and show this deal at the same time, so I'm going to have to trust that you're playing along appropriately. So, I'll give you the question. I'll give you a few seconds to answer. Go ahead and type in Secular Solomon in the chat, and then I will reveal the answer. Can't you check it? Can't you, like, minimize and then check it? No. No. Dan, can you check it? Dan can check the chat. Can you keep an eye on the chat for me? I'll watch the chat. Okay. Now, I'm looking for them, like … What am I … I would just check their answer. See what they're up to.
Oh, okay. Not to see if they're cheating somehow. No. How would they be cheating? Well, that's what I was wondering. I was trying to get that. I'm like, well, what if, you know, aren't they supposed to … Type it in a Bible gateway? Stacey already says secular. Yeah. You can't. We haven't given one yet. Stacey. Stacey, you're wrong. All right. Ready? Yeah. Here we go. Secular Solomon. First question. Or first bit of wisdom. All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Hmm. Mike? I'm going to say … Sorry. It says Dan's definitely not Solomon. I'm not sure you understand the game. So I'm going to go … I'm going to give you a phrase, and you say whether it's secular or from Solomon. We've got a secular, a Solomon, a Solomon, 50-50 chance. Okay. Solomon secular. I'm going with Solomon. Nathaniel? Yeah, Solomon. Dan? I'll go … Yeah, that sounds pretty Solomon-ish. Okay.
All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. It is Solomon from Proverbs 14, 23. What version of the Bible are you using here? Random internet people. Oh. Okay. Well, some of the key words I have memorized in the NIV. Oh, I see. Stacey's doing the happy dance. Okay. Congratulations, Stacey. Here we go. Next one. He who serves two masters … You know, Dan, I've never heard anyone claim they didn't get the right answer because it's the wrong version of the Bible. You're disgusting. Oh, I got the right answer, though. Yeah, barely. I was kind of like, eh, I was going to quiet that way, but that sounds pretty close. Here we go. So he who serves two masters has to lie to one. We got secular, secular, beans, the secular, just man, secular, Stacey, didn't Jesus say something similar to that? That wouldn't be secular nor Solomon, Stacey. Yeah, yeah. Only biblical option is Solomon. Secular is pants on the path. Okay. I don't need everything, Dave. Just a joke. Just keep an eye on him. Oh. Okay. Mike. Hey, I'm coming around the corner, secular. I'm going secular. Okay. Nathaniel, secular, Solomon? Yeah, secular.
Dan? Definitely secular. Secular. He who serves two masters has to lie to one. That is secular. It is a Portuguese proverb. Congratulations to the secular. I knew it. You know those are secular Portuguese. Okay, here we go. What version of the Portuguese proverb they're using? Whatever online. Here we go. It is the part of a good shepherd to shear his flock, not to skin it. Secular or visual? That's a toughie. It is the part of a good shepherd to shear his flock, not to skin it. Mike? Secular or Solomon? He's looking for help. Don't look at Dan. I'm going to slide secular on that one. Secular? Nathaniel? Yeah, I'm going with secular. I'm going with secular. Secular? Looks like a lot of secular on the chat, too. Okay, here we go. Ready? It is secular. Another Portuguese proverb. This one I thought a good shepherd might throw you off. Yeah? But because it's Solomon and Jesus was a good shepherd, you know, it's enough to keep you inbounds. El Secularero? Them Portuguese are full of wisdom. Congratulations. Here we go. Hatred stirs up disputes, but love covers all offenses.
Hatred stirs up disputes, but love covers all offenses. Secular or Solomon? Mike, how do you feel? I'm just going to say because there's been two seculars, it's got to be a Solomon. Nathaniel? I'm fairly certain it's Solomon. It's a Solomon? There's a lot of everybody on chat saying Solomon. I don't… See, again, it goes back to translation, but I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'll say secular because I don't know that exact phrase. I've read the Proverbs many times and I could be wrong, but I'm going to say secular. All right. Secular it is and no, Solomon, Proverbs 10, 12. Dan, do you have a, what's your translation? Let's see. I'll go with the NIV, 10, 12. I've got to hit this. It's not the same version that I normally use. Excuse me, I've been eating moon pies. Well, that's it. Hatred stirs up dissension, but love covers all wrongs. NIV. All right. Solomon it is. We had to memorize that one for Bible class one time. Did you really? Yeah. Hatred stirs up disputes, but love covers all offenses. I like the word disputes. I like the word love, Mike. I like that moon pies impression. I really enjoyed it. Here we go. It is better to dwell in a wilderness than with a quarrelsome and vexatious wife. Ooh. It is better to dwell in a wilderness than with a quarrelsome and vexatious wife. Secular or Solomon Mike? How do you feel? Vexatious.
Secular. Secular. Nathaniel. It's Solomon. Solomon. Dang it. I'm going to go with Solomon. There's quite a few pretty close to that. So it is Solomon. I would vote. Actually, Solomon has multiple ones about dealing with a vexatious wife, including like living on the roof. Yeah. Drippy faucets. Yeah. Yeah. Like he's, he's, he, no, this is a man with a hundred wives plus, right? So, I mean. Like 900. Yeah. I mean, he's got, he's got hundreds of wives. He knows a vexatious wife when he sees one. So I would take his wisdom. He's had them all. Well, okay. Very good. Next up on Secular or Solomon. Again, I give you the phrase, you tell me, Secular or Solomon. Gray hair is a crown of glory. Semi-colon. It is gained by virtuous living. Gray hair, American spelling, not the English spelling, is a crown of glory. It is gained by virtuous living. Dig the chat. I need some chat help. Mike's pulling the chat. All right. You're going to call a friend. I got the wrong screen here. We're getting a Secular, a Solomon, a Secular, a Secular, a Secular.
I'm going Secular. I pulled the crown. I'm Secular. Solomon. Solomon times three. No. Triple Solomon. That's a Stacey with a triple Solomon to the left. Nathaniel. So what was the, what was the, where were we at? What was the decision? I'm, I'm, I'm Secular. I don't have the whole count here. Let's see. There's a song. It's heavily on the Secular. Okay. Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is gained by virtuous living. Dan? I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going, boy, there's some pretty close to that one too. I'm going to just say Solomon. Solomon. It is. Proverbs 1631. Solomon. I look like that Secular guy. Yeah. I was going to say Secular too. You should be able to pick this Solomon out. We're on the path. But by the way, the Solomon, the picture of Solomon that I've chosen has a vague likeness to Victor from Young and the Restless. Yes. Victor. He looks like Eric, whatever his name is, who plays, who's the actor who plays Victor on Young and the Restless. I've seen it. I don't know that I've ever seen Young and the Restless.
What? Yeah, me neither. You've never been sick at home watching Young and the Restless? That would make me more sick. Is it right after Price is Right? Yeah. I love Price is Right. What do you do after Price is Right is done then? I don't know. I vomit and pass out. Oh yeah, I'm sick. All right, here we go. Next round. Secular or Solomon. A drowning man is not troubled by rain. Ooh. A drowning man is not troubled by rain. Secular or Solomon Nathaniel? That would be secular. Secular. D. Hudson? Secular. Secular Mike? Mike? Secular. Stacy says Confucius. Confucius say. Any. Are there any, I guess are there any votes for Solomon? I see none. No votes everyone for secular? Bueller. And the answer is secular, a Persian proverb. We need some booze or something. We need some booze. Who is Ron Burgundy? Just Vansky saying I'm Ron Burgundy? What does that mean? Oh, it's from Anchorman. Oh.
I haven't seen that movie. I saw it a long time ago. Me and Dan were reading the Bible eating movies. We were reading them up. And then I forgot to take my shoes off at the door and he got upset. That's right. Solomon takes his shoes off. Not all over the white carpet. I told you guys to sit on the towels. And I'm really not kidding. It's not quite holy ground, but it's pretty close. I just did the rug doctor. Or like we call him Dr. Rug. I don't do as good nerd man. That moon pie was a classic. All right, here we go. Ready? Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor's house. Lest he have more than enough of you and hate you. That's the problem. Take note if you are a neighbor. Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor's house. Lest he have more than enough of you and hate you. Secular or Solomon starting with Dan Hudson. I'm going to go secular. Secular. Mike Foost. Solomon. Vote for Solomon. Nathaniel, tiebreaker in the studio. Solomon. That's a Solomon. How is the chat? We got a secular, secular Solomon. Sounds like a salesman's trick. Solomon, secular. It's pretty even. All right, here we go. Ready? Yep.
And the answer is Solomon, Proverbs 25, 17. Talk to me, Solomon. And let's go to the translation. Dan, Proverbs 25, 17. 25, 17. 17. Seldom set foot in your neighbor's house too much of you and he will hate you. Okay, yeah, yeah. That's pretty dead on. Same concept, yeah. Yeah. That's not even close of it. Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor's house lest he have more than enough of you and hate you. He doesn't say it on. He doesn't say lest he have more. You know, I would love to use that exact phrasing at my future neighbor. And when they walk in and say, I've had more than enough of you. I hate you. That would be a great plaque to give us a home gift. Yeah. A gift, you know. Here you go. That's a plaque for the door. Front door. Yeah. And then on the back side, it says, God bless this mess. It could go either way. Or you can send the postcard out to all your neighbors. Lest you set foot in my home. Yeah. Just want you to know. I will go weary of you and hate you. Hey, man. Come on in. Stay for a while, but not too long. That might hate you. Bring your gift. Bring your gift. I mean, ain't kidding.
It's a piece of chicken. It's biblical. My God says it's cool for you not to annoy me. All right. Here we go. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. No period. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man a fish and you feed him for a lifetime. In the studio. Nathaniel. They use this one a lot on those, like, feed the hungry children things. So, I think, like, the Bible or the dude. I'm going to go with Solomon. Anyways. All right. Fat man with no flies on the TV. And so, he's a Solomon. You notice that, though? Flies are dumb. Here you go. You always show pictures of the starving children in Africa. God bless them. And there's flies all around them. Then you get the fat white guy who's there from the Christian ministry thing. No flies. Go to the guy with the food. He tastes funny. He tastes like garlic. That's the problem with the fly. He's probably a real pansy. Oh, I'm sure. I'm pretty sure he hoses himself down with anti-fly spray. I'm saying secular on that. Secular? Daniel? It's secular, I'm going to say. Dan, pretty confident secular. It's a great principle, but it's not.
Nathaniel, do you want to change your answer? No. You pansy. Don't change it. I think it was stay with it. Because they use it on the… Quit your jibba-jabba. Quit your jibba-jabba. You're not doing the pause. Oh. The shirt demands that. Quit your jibba-jabba. Jibba-jabba. But I can't lose intensity because of the pause. Here we go. Secular. It is secular. It's a Chinese proverb. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Darn it. We think fishing, we say Jesus, but it's not. It's the Chinese. The Chinese also fish. Live it, love it. Here we go. Jesus and the Chinese fish. Good habits result from resisting temptation. Good habits result from resisting temptation. Take it to the studio, Dan Hudson. Secular. That is a secular saying. My foost. Secular. Ooh, say resisting temptation is a secular item. I sided with Dan. Don't lead me astray. Nathaniel. Solomon. Solomon. He says resisting temptation is from Solomon and to the chat.
We got only one guess, Solomon. Everybody said Solomon or only one person? No, I mean only one person. I see. Unless I lost track. They're tiring of secular versus Solomon. I got something about the office, but that was before, I think. Yeah. All right. Here we go. It is secular. An ancient proverb. You sucker. Just vances fall out of sleep. Whatever. Hey. Wake up. There's other choices of programming. Here we go. A proverb in the mouth of a fool hangs limp like crippled legs. A proverb in the mouth of a fool hangs limp like crippled legs. Secular or Solomon. I'm going secular. Solomon. Secular. Two seculars, one Solomon. Crippled legs. That's Solomon. Crippled. The answer is Solomon. Business. Proverbs 26, 7. Dan for the translation. 26, 7. Proverbs 26, 7. All right. Like a lame man's legs that hang limp is a proverb in the mouth of a fool. Yeah. Yeah. A proverb in the mouth of a fool hangs limp?
Yeah. That's a travesty. Here we go next. This is my favorite one. The sluggard says there is a lion outside or I will be murdered in the streets. The sluggard says there is a lion outside or I will be murdered in the streets. Say sluggard one more time. Sluggard. Okay. Secular or Solomon? Solomon. Solomon. It is Solomon. It is Solomon. It's one of my favorites. I love it. It's an excuse. It is Solomon. I can't go outside. There's a lion. I can't do anything. I may be murdered in the streets. If I've actually tried this, I could fail. You know, although. I got moon pie crumbs on me. You're going to see me coming up my way. Although, to be fair, every once in a while, people do get murdered in the streets and there is a lion outside. So, like, if you're the guy that says that and then we convince you to go out and then you're murdered in the streets, I would feel bad about that. Yeah. I'll be murdered in the streets. Ah, I could be in such a sluggard. Like, oh, there. Oh. Last words. I told you so. Bartholomew's dead. Whoops. All right.
Proverbs 22, 13. Speak the truth, but leave immediately after. Secular or Solomon. Run. Speak the truth or leave, but leave immediately after. Secular or Solomon. Mike Foost. Solomon. Solomon. Secular. Secular. Dan. Secular. Secular. Is the chat done voting? We'll play here. It's fun. It's like boggle. Just fans supposed to know how many more. 60. Go do something else. Got a couple of seculars and a Solomon. A couple of Soblemans. Okay, here we go. Ready? Secular. It's a Slovenian proverb. That's what I said. So never trust a Slovak. Wow. A Slovak in relation to a Slowjack. Well, if they run, you know they told the truth, though. Yeah. There he goes. I better listen to that one. I stole your coat. I guess he did. Here we go. Final one. This is it.
You like to advance? Final one. Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart. Boy, that's a bit much. That's a mouthful. It's a lover's lament. Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on soda. Doesn't that sound nasty? Soda vinegar is one who sings songs to a heavy heart. Solomon. That's a vote for Solomon. You hear when I bang the table, that means… That means it. Dan Hudson? That's like telling the truth and running. Secular Solomon. Boy, there's something awfully close to that, but I'll say Solomon. Although, soda? I mean, 600 B.C. soda? Try it again. I'm going to go secular. Secular. Secular. Secular to chat. Let's see. Hmm. Definitely sound like Solomon, not secular. Did Solomon even drink soda? Secular. What's H back? What? I think that's a different conversation. All right. Okay. Answer is Solomon. Proverbs 25, 20. Dan with the translation. Where is he picking up his soda? QT?
This sounds terrible, though. But, like, seriously, one who takes away a garment on a… Steals your clothes on a cold day, or vinegar poured on soda is one who sings songs to a heavy heart? So, like… That's an NIV. Straight quote. Takes away a garment on a cold day, like vinegar poured on soda, is the one who sings songs to a heavy heart. There you go. So, if someone's down and about, you don't want to go try to cheer them up? I'm going to quit singing to them. I used to go and, you know, sing a little song. Yeah. What were you guys out doing here this last weekend? Caroling? Yeah. It was kind of cool. Certainly not. Certainly it was devastating. You really upset them. There were kids in wheelchairs. I mean, literally, the staff said, they're going to hurt themselves. They were smiling so big. And we got at the end, and the gal was kind of touring us around. She broke down, started crying. She goes, you don't have no idea. You have no idea what you've done today. We're like, man, we just went around singing off key. I mean… Schooled there more often. I don't… They said, can you come back? We don't care if it's Christmas. And they said, well, we're doing this Christmas in July thing. Yes. They said, come back. Sweet. In July. All right.
Can we rig up something? Can we go visit kids every three months or so? We can do whatever we want. They said, come anytime, any day. Well, let's stop by and play some games and stuff. We should do it. Play Scrabble. They don't think they can play. They're mostly in wheelchairs, and they're kind of like… Can they move enough to do Secular or Solomon? Can they play Secular or Solomon? I think they just like hearing music. Oh, yeah, probably so. Well, the worship band will go. We looked in, and we just kind of roamed around, and Jared had a guitar, so he was singing, and we were singing and stuff. And we looked in one room, and there was like a dad with a young, I don't know, under six-month-old, I assume. I didn't get to look at the child. And the dad was just beaming. It's a pretty depressing place. These are kids that are pretty physically not doing well. And it was almost like, and he got on the phone, he was talking to someone, he had this big smile, and we all walked off, and I said, Merry Christmas, man. And he's like, oh, thanks. It was just kind of cool. It just kind of brightened a lot of people's day. Merry Christmas. It was just like that, too. It was very hard. Did you go to On the Caroling, Nathaniel? No. Thanks for taking part with your church band. Yeah, way to go. Thanks. What were you doing? Making money or something? Yeah. Working at Walgreens. Taking part of the secular part of the…
Spend a clearance amount on your family for Christmas. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you for joining in the America's most popular, fastest-growing Christian game on the radio, Secular Solomon, Live from the Path. Just Vance wants to know if the goose went. Nope. And so it begins. The battle of the century. Secular. Secular. Or Solomon. Solomon. Solomon. In the blue trunks. That's gone. Solomon wears blue trunks. Weigh 98 pounds. Now, don't get them dirty. My mom says they need to stay clean for tomorrow. I want to get that secular dude's shirt. You don't know how many secular dudes I went through until I got to that guy. Who defines secular? This guy. Actually, I found it by typing in the word hipster. I thought, I need to find a hipster for this dude. You typed it in going, come on, picture of Ben Fuston. Come on. Surprised again. What if I type in Dorcas? I put pictures of Mike and Ben on the computers at school. I put his background. Looked up Mike Fuston, Ben Fuston. There's a picture of Mike sitting in a chair in a green shirt and then one of Ben with a donkey. Hey, by the way. It's awesome. If you guys. So, you've been listening to Live from the Path on NemoineAmplified.com.
You can find us during the week at livefromthepath.org. From our website, you can watch the most current week shows. You can sign up for the newsletter. Which, if you were on the newsletter last week, I get two classics. First of all, Tim. Well, this is going to come out wrong. I got to think about it differently. When we say it, the lizard that Tim Cooper drew was in the newsletter that we talked about last week. It was cool looking. Yeah, it was pretty slick. I was going to ask if his mom had thick skin. Well, that's possible. Who are we waving at? Oh, there is somebody over there. I'm like, I see nothing. And then, also, so I made a grievance there. So, you just saw the Secular Solomon game here. And, of course, I wasn't really paying attention to what I was doing. And not only did I not write Secular Solomon, I wrote Secular or Sailor. But, I misspelled Simpson. It was a bad day. But, other than that, the newsletter is fantastic. And, you can dig on it. So, sign up for the newsletter. You can also get to the YouTube channel where you can enjoy short snippets of the show, archive performances from some of our bands. You can also check out information about the bands, the shows they were on, and that kind of stuff, all on livefromthepath.org. In addition, if you're watching currently on Des Moines Amplified.com, if you leave the page that you're on, please don't do it now, but you can do it later. And, click shows. You can look at the live from the past show. And, you can dig out this picture of Dan Hudson out on here, which he put on like nine months ago and hasn't changed. And, it looks like he just got done telling people that he was going to run 10 miles, but decided against it. Stayed home, ate a side of beef, and three Diet Cokes. And, then took a picture of himself and put it up on the internet. Now, where is this to be found again?
It's on the Des Moines Amplified.com page. If you go underneath the hosts. Oh, with the little… Yeah. The only one says I've got a Bill Cosby. You're going to love me. Here I am. Whizzes is a pop. Pudding pops. Oh, no. Anyway, you can go out and check that out. Laugh from the bath. And, what's our hottest YouTube video? So, we've got a couple things. Within the last three weeks, Caps for Sale continues to make a run for its money. In fact, you can catch all the tales from the path out there. We have Caps for Sale, the Jack and the Beanstalk, and the Dan the Dunts are out there for your viewing pleasure. And, also, the Christmas video is getting some good air time. Our Christmas CD package, which I'll play for you a little bit later on in the show, just to remind you what's out there for your Christmas gifts. It's pretty hard to keep up with the orders. It is. It is. And, we didn't even do a phone number. It's straight 58 bucks. Two CDs. Live from the path. You can pick them up. So, enjoy that. I just split it up. Like, three easy payments. I don't have the patience for it. Next year, we're doing Walgreens. Yeah. We're going to distribute them at your place. Are you still going to work there? I don't know. Is this a long-term career for you, Nathaniel Carson? Probably not.
Let me say, 10 years from now, what is Nathaniel Carson doing with his life? Are you a racehorse? A what? A racehorse? No. Well, what are you? I haven't thought of that, but now… Where's your ambition? You know, I'm just, you know, working out my five-year plan right now. I said 10. I know. I haven't gotten that far. That's what I'm saying. You've fallen short. What's the five-year plan? I'm really working on it. Have you got six months? What's your five-year plan? Huh? Yours. I'm going to be doing this radio show. In five years, that's what you're striving for? Yeah. From Nashville. Still stealing my shirts? Wearing my stocking caps? Shove it in pennies. This is my stocking cap. Oh, big surprise. Five minutes. Five minutes from now, I'll give you the big surprise. Drum roll, please. I can hardly wait. Yeah, yeah. I found out what it is, and it is spectacular. 11-16. It's worth the wait. Yeah. When I heard, I jumped up and down for joy and went, whoa! I went and got my blood pressure checked at the Walgreens.
Mostly because I had to pee. That's an awesome idea. You need a trap door that only works after you get your blood pressure. And if, like, your blood pressure has to be an exact number, and then a door will open, and then you can go in there. So, if you better learn how to get your blood pressure under control, if you want to see what it is, you better hold it. Calm down, Opie, or you're not using the can. Boom! Boom! Second story. So, I went and looked at a house that I was interested in purchasing this week, and Ben came out there and looked at it with me and the wife and his lady and the kids and whatever, and there's a safe in there. Oh, yeah. And it's locked. Is it like a gun safe? No, it's just like a little, I gotta know what's in that safe. Like, they drilled a hole in the wall, and it's an in-wall safe in a concrete in a basement. Yeah. Oh, I gotta know what's in that safe. That's cool. Yeah. It's gotta be Twinkies. It's gotta be. Yeah. Twinkies? Yeah. Like, just regular old Twinkies. Yeah, Twinkies. Yeah. And they stay refreshed. Oh, they're gonna be like the day they were made. Twinkies and hockey pucks, there's no doubt. Like Spam. I'm gonna open them, and I'm gonna eat them. That's guaranteed. Me and the kids. Me and the older kids. The little baby can't have it.
Yeah, yeah. A little early. But the other ones, you can definitely have Twinkies with me. Yeah. Twinkies. I don't have, wait, I have a safe. I was just thinking I don't have a safe. I have a fire safe. But I do, yeah. I have a fire safe, yeah. I have a safe. I don't have nothing in it. Stacy, you don't like Twinkies? I don't have enough important stuff to put in a safe, so I start putting unimportant stuff in there. Like a shirt or two that I really like, or some stuff I found in my pocket. So, woman, were you guessing on the secular of Solomon? Sorry, I just noticed that. She saw the slides, like earlier today. She was guessing. How about Solomon? Let me see here. Right again. Look at me. Maybe I'll change it up to throw people off. I'm amazing. Well, no doubt. Woman, it's because you married a man of the world. I keep saying that. It irritates her. I don't know why she doesn't like it when I say, you married a man of the world. Why? I don't know. People being people. That's what I'm saying. People being people. Yeah. All right. You're listening live at Bath and the Wine Amplified.com. Are we there yet?
No, no. I got two more minutes. I can't give away the surprise. It's bottling up. It's giving me the gas, frankly. All right. Since you're not in the five-year plan, Nathaniel, what is the one-year plan? Nathaniel. What? Within the next minute or two, you need to approach the microphone in a radio professional type manner. Well. Sweet. I'm going to have to go with graduate from high school. Solid. Solid. That's good. That's a good goal. Yep. And then… Valedictorian? Probably not. Just likely. You've got a few more months. You can do it. Yeah, maybe. Okay. Okay. What would you say in your valedictorian speech? I would say… Valedictorian of the graduating class of 2011, Nathaniel Carson. Nathaniel Carson. I would say, my good people, I come to you humbly. For school and seven years ago. Nerd. I was up there. Yeah, work hard in school, guys. That's what I'd say. And then you could be like me. Yeah.
That's the worst speech I've ever had. All right. Valedictorian of the class of 2011, Mike Foost. Mike Foost. Mike Foost. Hey, man. What's happening? We did it. It's going to be me and you and you and you and you at the Walgreens in two hours and Twinkies are on this guy. You know what? Forget this noise. Let's get out of here. People being people. I'm out. Once I dreamt that there was a spider web and a big red bird and I got confused. Yep. Valedictorian speech 2011, Mr. Ben Foost. I think within two hours after my graduation. That's my crowd cheering. Dan took over my speech. I was supposed to speak. Oh. They just walked over. You did say Ben, didn't you? You were just ending your speech. You didn't win, Daniel. I wasn't listening. Very much like Daniel's high school graduation. Is he talking? Amy DeLoon. What? Dan Hudson. You said the Dan, right? I'm sorry. Here's Dan. Congratulations, us. You're awesome, Dan. Thank you. Yes, we are.
Okay, I'll be quiet. Sorry. It's a crocodile. Okay, it's 7-16. Ready? Yep. Here's a big surprise. Hit us. As promised. Now, I guess let me get this out of the way. I really appreciate everyone that comes to watch the show at night. And we really enjoy you hanging around. And so we got some news from the station this week. And we're moving. We're moving the show to a different time slot. I think this is going to be great for the show. It's going to give us the opportunity to reach out to some people that otherwise we're not touching. And I'm really excited. So starting next week, our new time slot, we're going to meet Monday, well, Tuesday mornings, 3 a.m. But we're going to get, we got an extra hour, so we're going to do the 3 to 6 slot, which they feel like we can catch a lot of the West Coast traffic. I think Seattle's going to be hot. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're going to, we're going to be, it's going to be awesome. So, and we get, we get the 3 hours. So, I mean, we're able to, and it's, it's preparation for like a syndication deal. You know, most of your big shows are 3 hours, so we're going to do that. So, so, so next, again, next Tuesday, it's the big news, people. Next Tuesday, 3 a.m., we're going to be on from 3 to 6. A lot more Solomon versus secular. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We got some. Probably double the amount. Probably. Yeah, yeah. This is going to be good. Yeah, it's going to be sweet. We're going to be, we've got some guests lined up. They're going to be coming in for that. Phil Collins? Phil Collins is not coming in.
Coco Beware, Birdman? The Birdman Coco Beware. He's not going to be on here. He's a born-again Christian. I believe we're going to have jugglers. I can juggle. I was going to say, you've got to juggle, because that was one of our first goals of the show, and now that we're kind of closing things up on this time slot, we should have a juggle. I'm a little weepy about it, to be honest. I kind of got used to coming in this time of night. There's certain people at the quick trip I run into. We were just having fans show up for Mike. Yeah, really. Yeah, people know me. They're not going to know whether to come in or not. They saw my valedictorian speech. They come rolling in. The people that are really early to work, though, we'll be greeting them. That's what I'm saying. We'll be catching the people coming in to start their day, starting with Jesus. That's the thing. We're reaching out to the people. Kickstart it. So, you know, we'll change the name of the show. That's exciting. I like it. Kickstart Jesus. It's like orange juice. The street Jesus. The street Jesus. All right, so here's the deal. So, like, I was writing the newsletter, okay, and I like things to go in threes. And so I say, here's what we've got coming up. This, this, and this. And I didn't have a third thing. So I thought if I put there would be a surprise that between then and tonight I would have thought of one. And I didn't think of one. It's Christmas. Yeah.
It's kind of a busy time. Yeah. So I couldn't, I couldn't come up with a decent surprise to round out my third sentence. We are not moving the show. It's staying from 10 to midnight on Monday nights. Yeah. Yeah. It's not going to happen. So anyway, there's a, there's a surprise. That's all. That's all. That's all. That's a letdown. That's pretty non-eventful. It's lame. I hear you. Stacy was upset though. She was going to be, she was with us. My wife was going to leave. Not only the show, but me. Wait, wait, now, now, now, are you saying lame-o or laugh my something off? Yeah. Isn't that the phrase? I thought it was lame-o. That'd be lame-ow. Wouldn't it? Oh, lame-o. Why wouldn't it be lame-o? There's three O's. Yeah, sorry. I didn't really have a surprise. I don't want to tell you. I got a sneeze again. Dig on it. Well, I mean, that was, that would have been, that was surprising, wasn't it? Oh, lame-o. Okay. Yeah, lame-o. There you go. Awesome.
Let's rap for a minute. Okay. Like drop some beats and rap or like talk? No, let's pass the thing around. You ever see people do all the time and they take their glasses off and they're really going to talk with you? And I can't see anything, so I don't even know exactly what's going on. I'm never paying attention, so I, I don't know. They want to talk to me and I, I walk off. What? Sorry. Sorry. I'm not, you were, you were supposed to be rapping. Stacy has the beatbox going. I'm ready. Hey, I've been, actually I've been practicing my beatboxes. Me too. What, what do you make for the snare drum sound? It's a k. Okay, Mike, give me your beatbox. Go. Okay, Nathaniel. You're next. Mine's really bad. Yeah. Matt, no, you were doing big man talking. Do it. Do a beatbox right now. That stinks. Alright. You sound like an old man putting garlic on his lips. Something wrong with this toothpaste. I did the fix it, but I didn't forget it. This preparation H tastes kind of nasty. Emergency. Hey, do the beatboxing. When did you have Danielle Skype in? She was just talking about that today. They studied that in music. The beatboxing?
Beatboxing, all the series of consonants and stuff. Alright, Nathaniel, the chat's trying to help you out. Use the following phrase, boom, chicka, chicka. Boom, chicka, chicka. You sound like a drunk grape ape. Grape ape. Grape ape. Like when the show got canceled. Boom, chicka, chicka. Boom, chicka, chicka. Who's gonna want a grape ape now? They took my van. Wait, did grape ape drive a van? He lived on top of the van. Yeah, it was like a purple van. Oh, yeah, like he scooted along like a skateboard. Yeah. Okay, that's the one. Yeah. Okay. I was wondering what he was doing with the Scooby-Doo's van. I realize it's not the same van. It does look like the same van, though, doesn't it? What's the best thing you've ever Now here's the deal I don't want any kind of sentimental garbage like my wife came to visit me home from holiday or something or the kids are here or like whatever this garbage is Like what what
what capitalistic toy treasure was the best thing you ever received grown up kid or otherwise doesn't matter Best for Christmas I have no idea I can't think I can't What are you doing next to me? Get out of here Seriously I mean I remember like a fire truck when I was a little kid like a little kid I got a Nintendo 64? No Alright Dan you're not off the hook but you you got you brought yourself the time to think about it An HO scale army train set What's HO scale? Like the the size of the train you know and like the Lionel is the big one HO is like the small one you know and it was a whole army set it was a I mean the green army
color and it had I still have it as a matter of fact Is it motorized? Oh yeah yeah yeah and it had like each car was a different army like one had two tanks on it like a flat car they all had a different one couple gunners and it was pretty cool How much track do you have? I got pretty much hiding quite a bit hiding around somewhere I've always wanted to rig up a train that had candy on it and like every five minutes or so the train would come by and you can just grab candy and then you'd have to wait if you want more candy you gotta wait five minutes for the train to come back around and then you grab candy That's a long track I will help you set that up in the office if you'd like Really? Let's do it What was that? There was a movie that had a train that had condiments in it What was that? Nothing but trouble I don't know With Dan Aykroyd
I don't know Happy Joe's always had the one going around the top Was there candy in it? Well you'd put a quarter in it and if it stopped at a certain spot you'd get ice cream or something Oh Hmm Just on a timer That's not really what I was saying Yeah It doesn't have candy It doesn't have candy Can't beat free ice cream though Unless you don't get anything Like you put 25 cents in and then you didn't win But you got to see the train go Yeah Whatever I want to put candy in and I get candy every time Yeah Yeah Man Bummer There's no downside to this candy train We're trying to find it We're setting it up Unless you put bad candy in it You probably want a Lionel size because it's a bigger one It'll hold more candy I'm not really interested in your specific train varieties That's always a deal What if you put like hard candy like a Jolly Rancher and then it comes around
and you're not done with it yet Then you just don't want any more candy Well you just got to wait then I haven't had a Jolly Rancher in years I used to love those puppies I'd sneak them to school They weren't allowed in school? Yeah we couldn't have anything Oh You go to one of them none schools? One of them none schools Alright so Nathaniel best Christmas present ever? I'm going to have to go with the year that I got a unicycle That was pretty cool That is awesome Did you ride it? Yeah Can you juggle while riding it? No that's hard Yeah that would be very hard Wait so can you still ride it? Like you still know how to get around on it? Yeah Well the first one I got You've had two unicycles? Yeah Oh that's awesome It's a bicycle now The first one I bought or got I didn't buy it parents bought it for me It broke
because I was trying to jump it off some steps Yep I was going to the extreme with my unicycle Extreme I looked up some videos on YouTube I looked up extreme unicycling and it gets pretty intense you know That's something I'll have to say I've never thought of in my entire life Well you know people get a unicycle and they think people are going to think I'm a dork I gotta jump this thing off something Gotta start doing tricks with it I need a hoop of fire Oh man Anyway so I just jump it off and like it broke and then I couldn't spin the pedals anymore Was it a new unicycle or used? No I think it was new but I've been riding around for like two years and then I started jumping it off stuff and it broke
So is that kind of painful? I mean getting a wreck on a unicycle is that kind of painful? No You just fall off I mean just regular falling down What do you think Evans? I'm rolling down the stairs with a unicycle the unicycle turns on you and starts kicking you in the head How dare you crush me? I'm a unicycle Then I got a new one it's pretty spiff it's the Torquer 360 Yeah? Yeah It's made out of metal this time so it won't break Is that what your Walgreens made out of? Well some of it was made out of metal and then the part that I broke was made out of plastic Matchsticks? Duct-taping innovation That's how it broke This is the unicycle of my imagination Candy That unicycle is the coolest thing like if you were to ride
that day to day as your mode of transportation I would think that would be the coolest Like you're not a guy that does it for the hipness of it you're just a guy that digs on the unicycle They're pretty fun You can play video games while you're doing it because there's no handlebars I can ride my bike with no handlebars Do they have brakes? Because they go backwards too You just have to pedal backwards Yeah, okay What stops it? You probably don't get going too fast You stop pedaling You fall off Does it coast? No No, because the pedals are actually connected to the wheel So every time you turn it the wheel turns So the faster you go you really gotta be moving your legs Yeah There's no taking a break like you do on a 10 speed I don't know that sounds like a lot of work Yeah, I've changed my mind about this unicycle thing
What a drag They're fun, you know I like them Yeah I mean, it's cool that you ride them I want to see a juggle while riding it That's really hard Put that in your five year plan Maybe I will Why do people juggle bowling pins, man? Those are heavy They're not actually juggling bowling pins They look like bowling pins but they're juggling pins and they're made out of plastic I have some That's a rip off Did you get those for Christmas too? Yes Your parents have bought you a unicycle and juggling pins? Do you ever get the feeling they're encouraging to join the circus? These are awesome These are awesome presents Maybe it's time you move out Maybe it's time you move out When I was little I'd tell my parents that I either wanted to be Michael Jordan when I grew up or I wanted to run away
to the circus Looks like they encouraged us Yeah I guess they knew which one you were qualified for Did they ever get you basketball shoes? They got me a basketball a few times Does this shirt say Beardo Juggled it? Beardo How come my shirt has sequins all over it? These are fantastic I want to be like Orfeo Tricky I don't know that unicycle seems like a pretty good gift I like it Mike best Christmas gift ever? I'd probably have to say that Nintendo I remember my grandma got me some kind of Bible game It was the We Three Kings Bible game and you were the Magi trying to make your way to Jesus It was awesome Yeah Grandma had a way of taking anything that was even close
to being secularly hip and being able to throw Jesus in somehow and really Jesus it up So we had gotten just an old school Nintendo whatever for Christmas and we had found it early We lived in an apartment building and there was only one place to hide stuff and it was in Mom's closet and of course we find this Nintendo like two weeks before Christmas we were just in the closet getting something or other and she made us feel real bad she's like well if you found it I guess we'll have to take it back I'm like oh no don't take it back I didn't mean to find it okay I guess you can have it well okay so then two weeks before Christmas we get this Nintendo so for Christmas we get the We Three Kings Bible game and it sounds terrible but it was actually pretty fun
Yeah like you're on the camel and you're running around and you're collecting frankincense and myrrh and stuff like you gotta run over and jump over stuff and there's all I can't remember what the baddies were like the yeah like who was trying to stop it I don't think they got parents men or something they didn't get too involved but there was always a star like on the right hand part of the screen you could never get to like you were following it like it was just part of the background like you could never get it oh bummer they have lots of games like that now like you know how they have like Call of Duty and all that war games they have like Joshua fight the Canaanites are they like probably not so bloody are they well some of them are they well I hope so the bible really doesn't
tone down violence you know yeah I'm just wondering I'm just thinking marketing to sometimes they look at us as kind of pansies yeah that's true oh if they don't have any blood they might get offended it's like well we do bleed they don't want Joshua and the Canaanites they want a unicycle exactly and some rings they're cool stick with it dude I'm telling you I can only juggle four of them though and that doesn't look I've tried to I can't even juggle three I practice it I can't do it I can't juggle three of anything really and you've practiced it yeah I've worked on it huh I can't do it I actually tried to learn off the Wii because they have a guy on the unicycle yeah that juggles
I've seen that that's nothing like juggling like real juggling that's the worst I can't do that really yeah I tried it I can't do it that's very hard for me Ben Christmas present you know I was just thinking about that I don't know we were talking over the break I remember this one time but it was terrible because Mike and I tended to have to share Christmas presents and so when your mom bought a weight set like a it's two pound weight and you buy the set you get two two pounds weight and she gave Mike one of them and I got the other one so like we got the set between us we got a two pound weight set two yeah two pound yeah that's it so like you either
either we could like stand next to each other like do the pump one guy one guy per two pounder or or we had to wait like one guy did jumping jacks and the other guy did the two at a time and the other guy had to do the jumping jacks it was very bad oh man Arnold you know the problem is since we you know we lived with our single mom growing up you know we saw the old man or whatever every couple weekends but so we lived with mom so we learned how to like exercise the way girls exercise so when we thought hey you know we need to get we need to get in shape so we had leg weights on and we're on the trampoline running
you know this is not a dude with your leggings this is not a dude workout it's embarrassing you know you turn on some tunes you get out the old trampoline and you go and then when you're done you get out the Suzanne Somers thigh burner and thigh burn for a bit you're like yeah I'm really gaining some I'm gaining some strength here those football players won't mess with me now only to realize by the time I'm 15 that I don't know anything about anything manly it's very embarrassing what about the Richard Simmons rocking it to the 60s he was he was something else but he looks exactly the same as he did ever yeah he hasn't changed yeah I mean I haven't talked to him lately but I'm pretty sure he's
I don't know what's happened to him we had to watch that in gym class one time sweating to the whatever yeah sweating to the oldies he wears some real short shorts it's a little uncomfortable yeah pretty much is that a yawn I was thinking about something else I don't know chat best Christmas present ever Stacy Vance Pete I mean what do you got anything like really stick out for you best actually now that I'm thinking about it we went to Disney World my dad got us that for that's cool for Christmas and like he put it as a he put it as a a crossword that me and Mike
had to do and so like we filled out the crossword and it said and the final so it's you know where the they got the circled letters so like you do the crossword and you put the circle letters in and it's the jumble and then you answer the question and it's the foos boys are going to and then it said Disney World and that was the answer and that was pretty cool it was although going on vacation with my dad was kind of weird because like otherwise we saw dad every other week weekend yeah like Saturday night Sunday and that was it and so like going on a full weeks of vacation with him was kind of odd but it was fun it was a lot of fun Teddy Ruxpin
okay that is cool I remember that Teddy Ruxpin was a little bear with the talked yeah yeah that's the best okay Stacy that's a good one a socket set a shiny socket set I bought your a socket set that has to be the woman yeah you got her a socket set for Christmas yeah I was going to ask what's the best gift you've ever given I gave her a socket set I thought it was genius she didn't have any tools in her car and a battery had gone out whatever a couple weeks prior and I thought she needs her own socket set that way she's got her own tools it'll be you know be nice and that way she doesn't have to worry about it apparently this is a very unthoughtful gift on my part the same year I believe
I got her like I had gotten her a fish like a gold fish you know and I made her a sign that said like I can't remember something nice and sweet you know like the little fish signs they put in there I love you like a fish loves worms I wrote with a black magic marker or something on this sign and said you know you're prettier I can't remember and so I gave it to her she put it in the fish tank it killed the fish you can't put a magic marker in there and expect the fish not to die oh no yeah I tell you there's one thing that I'm terrible at I give the worst gifts doesn't matter how hard I try how much I think about it how much money I spend I give terrible gifts I can mean the greatest things in the world and they're just terrible I'm just terrible at it I've tried to change it
I've worked on it I thought six months ahead of time I'm really gonna think on it this year I'm gonna get something great and I always turn out buying crap I'm terrible I'm absolutely the worst I'm really excited for the days when I can say listen just go buy yourself something and we'll call it from me because I just I buy garbage I'm so bad it's not even funny my friend just bought his girlfriend like a diamond necklace how old is he he's 18 oh he's a sucker he probably works at Walmart that's a mistake ask him what he's gonna do when he's 35 I don't know what is he gonna trump himself every year it ain't coming down friend you gotta start out with $10 gifts and work your way up he went out to the Zales
oh the Zales oh you sucker I got a girlfriend once like a heart necklace I thought she was pretty impressive probably spent 70 bucks on it or something 70 bucks that was big time that's like $3,000 to I think he spent like 150 bucks on this diamond necklace 150 bucks yeah yeah I believe it I was making the big bucks at Burger King back then I had nothing to spend it on so I had this big bank account that's the only reason she hung out with me wait is that true a necklace is what all guys get girls so as not to commit the necklace is the non-commitment item it's legendary I didn't marry her my husband got me a necklace okay Stacy I'd be worried about him he's on his way out
he just had a baby he's sticking with him he's a good man sorry before marriage before marriage the necklace is the non-committer and then after it it's no problem how about if it's like I don't know if I want to get you a wedding ring but here I mean when you're in high school you know I mean that's the non-committer let's go ahead and get married it is kind of the non-committer I'll graduate in here in a couple years until you graduate high school I think a DVD is sufficient yeah High School Musical 3 or the latest campy film that's out and about I got to do this YouTube video or if you really want to send her a heart of fluttering a socket set yeah we'll also do it some flowers yeah 150 bucks at the Zales that's a mistake
now let me ask you was it like a pink cased nope it was like black it was regular it was high quality it was like 40 bucks for a 15 piece socket set pretty impressive it was a good craftsman socket set you should have given that to me I thought get her a pink one it's all about the look a little fuzzy ladies let me ask you would you take a a bread maker just per se ask so I made the mistake and I don't think it was I don't think it was Christmas it might have been Christmas so I got I see the magic bullet not to TV and I think hey man that magic bullet is handy so I think three weeks beforehand I'm going to get on TV and I'm going to order this magic bullet and I never do it and then I but I remember
I saw it at the Walgreens right so we're on our way back home from church and I realize I've not gotten this gift so I pull into the Walgreens my wife is in the car and I say hold on it's got to run it's we've got the magic bullet and it snuck it around back and put it in the car and then it got some gum or something and it was like got it and they got home and tried to sneak this magic bullet into the house I fooled her oh man that was a mistake she hated it she hated the magic bullet she hated it I mean we use it it's cool I use it I make all sorts of stuff with it but man that was a mistake that was a that was a dire mistake make the nacho cheese
in 60 seconds I you know I don't have nacho cheese oh I bet the omelets are good and they the homemade pesto looks alright I don't know hmm pesto Mike you've never seen the magic bullet and said and and what really nah I happen to have three in my car can I have them I don't have them no people was getting over these I saw a panini maker at the at the Walmart for fish hey hey hey there's a I was at the Walmart last night and they had a crock pot but it's like three crock pots in one
has anybody seen that yeah that's called the tripod man a tripod oh yeah is that like a roaster you're talking about it was actually crock pots yeah no like three crock pots yeah like three right in a row but three separate ones boy they're wild yeah I couldn't think of anything that I would need to like triple like why didn't I just have a big yeah like a roaster like wouldn't I get one of those big ones as opposed to like three small so it's it is three crock pots it's not a crock pot set up in three different sections so if you want to cook something different in each section yeah cream corn it's got potatoes yeah no yeah that's what yeah what it would be like you buy three that's why you wouldn't do the big roaster
yeah I don't know that it'd be slow roasting all that stuff of course if you're like you know no one plug living in a retirement home and it's just one or two of you you don't need a lot of food throw a lot in there you cook it you go off and you play shuffleboard you come back and your green beans are done I don't know what to cook in a crock pot I guess you haven't lived chicken there's lots of stuff to cook in there pork roast oh yeah we do a lot of stuff in the crock pot all the time it's awesome I love crock pots I think we own three crock pots yeah you set it and you forget it you put it in there you leave it can't overcook it's slow roasted yeah I don't actually tender like what are you making there pork tacos we do a lot of chicken you make pork tacos
yeah minute steak sounds awesome they're pretty good a minute steak and a slow roasting crock pot we throw that in a can of mushroom soup on it mmm good stuff a lot of sausages baked potatoes in the oven and that still sounds good chili oh yeah chili we should bring a crock pot in here I thought we were gonna have hot chocolate tasting you didn't ever you were supposed to roast up people to bring in hot chocolate you said Matt Cassidy was gonna do it he didn't do it no he didn't do it but then fine then you're back on it you're responsible again reason number ten not to trust Matt Cassidy you're back on for the hot chocolate guy no way Cassidy's ruined it this is like homemade hot chocolate no so like the point was in the no like we were gonna get local businesses to contribute hot chocolate to our taste test
and crown a winner and Mike's job was to like bring them together and he never did it no I said I was gonna do it and Ben said Matt Cassidy you should do it Matt said fine no no no no I had to hire him out because you were supposed to do it and you said no I'm not gonna do it no I get around it oh how am I what am I supposed to say it was the biggest ninny ninny fest I've ever heard in my life what would I say what would I say to him no I said no one's gonna wanna come on an internet radio show and do a hot chocolate tasting from a bunch of no lids who have no idea who you are at ten o'clock at night on a Monday trying to bring in a piping hot thing of hot chocolate on a show that's watched by fifty people that was my presentation so what's your secret ingredient chocolate
love I make it with love that's very interesting it's filled with alphabet marshmallows cocoa and hugs yeah so can you can you come to our line from the path we're on the we're on the internet sometimes we sometimes we practice in our basement to make sure the shit will go well sometimes it doesn't my mom says it's alright coast to coast so okay so I saw I saw a socket set I saw Teddy Ruxpin what with Vance did you give did you tell me best best of all I didn't see it best Christmas gift live from the path that's your Christmas gift alright alright whatever you're the one that hated the Solomon the Solomon questions earlier yeah act like it was begrudging
to have to listen to the entire game my wife liked that like that was she rarely likes the stuff we got going on she loved it oh pants socks you know now listen here socks from pants are pretty solid he buys the lifetime warranty socks and they're nice he says did you open up your socks from pants you know what I haven't everything from Sunday is still in my car I haven't brought anything in so I'm guessing I got socks you got a pair of lifetime guarantee socks wow thanks pants from the closet of pants oh they exist I thought about that on the way here where's my stuff here's the roast so I got a pair and I wear them all the time here's the problem
with these socks it's like they're not regular socks so they don't take on dirt as well like you don't notice that they're that they're old a normal pair of socks you get on for a couple days you can kind of tell these are getting a little grimy these socks you really can't tell I mean you could wear them for two weeks you wouldn't know the difference so that's a problem but I wore a hole in one of them because I wear them so often and I thought no forget it man lifetime guarantee but you need the receipt and I thought that's a look man because if every if every sock they make is lifetime guarantee what do they need proof that I bought it like how else did I get it unless I knit it myself or stole it from the factory I had to have purchased it I don't know why they need the proof of receipt like the receipt with it so they should just give me a fresh sock
steal it and then return it for the warranty yeah that's just their sneaky way of saying it's a lifetime warranty but we don't plan to honor it yeah I mean I've only had them socks for whatever a year or two I mean granted I wear them out something fierce like I said that two weeks but anyway they're nice they're plum nice I got them on right now how long you been wearing them hold on no way eight days which is slightly slightly only slightly less long as the current jeans I have on that's what papa needs for Christmas new pair of jeans and another pair of everlasting socks go to the pennies somebody help me out go to the pennies new jeans yeah they're a slim fit I don't wear
I don't wear the slim fit there looks nothing more uncomfortable than these dudes in rib tight hugging jeans like stovepipe down to your I mean your ankle they're like super tight yeah man those jeans I mean it looks like you stole them from a fifth grader why would you wear jeans that are so uncomfortably tight people will know where your wallet is you know like sometimes oh I'm sure they can't see your wallet already sometimes they can't some dudes put it in the front I only knew where that guy's wallet was go after it I used to keep my wallet in my back pocket actually I still do but the old man tried to get me to put it in the front he goes dudes won't go up there
try to steal it because it's by your penis diffing gives a more appropriate word what snifter whatever come up with something dudes won't go up there because it's by your snifter they don't want to accidentally come in contact with another man's snifter I like the guy that's willing to steal money but not willing to come close to a snifter I draw the line there I would say I would draw that line in my degradation if I were to fall you know slowly from the path to the lord I would hope that stealing wallets is above snifter I suppose I'm just saying it's kind of a weird distinction like I'm willing to steal another guy's money I just I won't go near as diffy or whatever I'd say that's reasonable yeah definitely
anyway well I still keep it in my back pocket I keep it in my back pocket as well I don't want to know a dude that is not afraid of us and then we end up in the same situation just take the money please go away let me get it for you I don't know I was trying to use the best thing I've gotten someone else for Christmas I can't I don't know I'm traditionally bad I always got I always got a good list of stuff and then I forget all of it and then I have to end up like scrounging for stuff somebody there was hey I don't know if you've been out there but really that Think Geek's got some weird stuff out there and oh I don't remember what it was
it was oh it was a it was a one can cooler that plugs into your USB drive on your computer so you can keep a can of sody cool at your desk I submit that if you don't drink a can of sody fast enough that it is cool the whole time you have it then you're not a much of a no I'm cooling it I keep because here's I don't keep I don't keep sody on stock at my place I keep it out in the garage and so during the summer times it's warm so I put in my bag I take it to work I could put it in this cooler thing and have it cool by the time I want to drink it over the lunch hour that seems like an awful lot of effort yeah
to drink a sody yeah that's well worth it why don't you just buy a cold soda I don't have big money or and I can't debit I can't debit at the venue see it's problematic you bring your own soda you get it cooled up you're gonna go check it's a lot cheaper though yeah yeah yeah soda pop sorry yeah soda but now the problem is I keep the soda out in the garage and it's frozen solid and I didn't even think about that but I popped one open and I got a brick of soda I mean it didn't come out but you heard it clack on the can I always keep a case of water in the back of my car in the winter it's always cold do we have cold water to freeze it has to get really cold to freeze really why
I mean this was back there it's been back there I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure water freezes at the same well it's all sealed there's airtight I mean it's sometimes it's really cool you get it and it's all liquid and you open up and you see it go kind of freezes up a little bit that's just kind of fun that's kind of funky that's worth the show that's funky fresh that was worth waiting up for that was our surprise man's water to ice it's not quite the miracle the lord provided but it's something yeah yeah he kind of did that under duress didn't he like the water to wine if I remember I like his his mom kind of talked him into it it's like a woman I'm not really ready she goes oh come on Jesus you can do it yeah yeah yeah
okay which is kind of odd I always thought she's just a puny human being and he's like well okay I guess I'll go ahead and start get started yeah might as well start the ministry here waiting for the father word from the father but have you said but mama needs some booze yeah did somebody say funky fresh yeah did you say that yeah I didn't catch it yeah I did well the chat caught it they're concerned that water the wine thing though that kind of that throws a kink at a lot of a lot of people's theology you know why well a lot of people like have trouble with well you can't be drinking and stuff and it's like well that's like the first miracle Jesus did was yeah made the good stuff yeah
and Jesus made a direct reference to it when he was comparing himself to John the Baptist he goes I sent you a dude that did no drinking and was and and and and grains or whatever and you said he's possessed by the devil and I show up and I and I dine with sinners and I do some drinking here and there and you're like well he's a drunkard he can't represent the Lord he goes so which way do you want it which way do you fellas want it here you gonna find fault in everything I send your way oh those Pharisees they make me so mad you Pharisees you you Pharisees you give me back my robe uh uh Stacy I guess you hear while I'm thinking about it please enjoy the following commercial featuring uh Teddy Ruxpin

I would say no as well he kind of smells like whatever he was doing that morning yeah you know yeah that's why I bought it for him partially was it on the uh let's get out of here Walgreens rack I don't remember nobody's buying this no no it wasn't on clearance yeah I couldn't think of the word clearance but let's get out of here I thought that kind of huh yeah well I did you're a good man Nathaniel yeah what would you say I think that's the only thing I paid full price on though what would you say you got me for Christmas uh a socket set are we not exchanging gifts this year I guess I can take mine back quick I wasn't previously informed a Barack Obama chia pet I got you a Volvo it's too speed
oh thanks yeah I guess if you don't want it it's no big deal okay I'll give it to Ben I'll take it one time Mike and Ben promised me a car with what weren't there stipulations to it yeah there were and did you meet them no well then you didn't get a vehicle I know I would have come up with it too you said it would have been a real pile but I'd have got you one they said if I got a driver's license they would buy me a car oh that seems pretty reasonable and I didn't no I didn't no I'm going to tell you one thing Ben and I do a lot of yapping that's true but the one thing that we can always come through with if there's an outrageous promise that's out there and you meet the restrictions we will certainly come through it
yeah we've done it many times it won't be what you're expecting we say a vehicle you know I mean it's it's going to be a real pile I think I'm getting getting driver's license over the Christmas break though okay I'm finally doing it I'm excited awesome because I have places to go now yeah you do like this radio show yeah Ben has to take you all the way home that stinks oh man you have been listening to Live from the Path on Des Moines Amplified.com where there is no decency filter after the 10 o'clock hour what is that note to self please do not google Teddy Ruxman and look at the nearest commercial if you would like to find us during the week thank you very kindly you can find us on livefromthepath.org please check out the newsletter you can also sign up for the podcast which you can download
