Segments

  • Opening testimony: praying for atheists 0:00–21:40
The show opens mid-conversation as a host shares how anxiety over an upcoming event drove him to prayer, finding peace after a day of praying in and out at work. The hosts discuss praying for atheists — not as enemies but out of love for what God has given them — arguing that genuine prayer draws more spiritual opposition than protesting would, since the battle is spiritual. The discussion covers how atheists respond to the delivery of the message, the 'heaping of coals' on heads, and the contrast with combative approaches.
  • Westboro, the KKK joke, and religious defensiveness 21:40–25:36
The hosts call the Westboro Baptist Church 'a joke' and 'an abomination to the whole setup,' then run a satirical news bit about the Ku Klux Klan issuing a press release distancing itself from Westboro. The conversation turns to religious defensiveness: people who wrap their world around a belief system react violently when it is threatened, illustrated by first-century Jews who rejected Jesus. A discussion of genuine Muslims follows, arguing that hard-line Muslims hate America's vulgarity because they see it as a so-called Christian nation.
  • On This Rock returns: band updates and summer gigs 25:36–28:42
The hosts re-engage On This Rock, who are in the studio, and note that Saved on Sunday is also in the prayer room and will swap in around 11 o'clock. A host asks after Jeremy, the singer from last time, and learns he poured concrete all day and texted 20 minutes before departure — still in the band, and the one who 'led me astray on Secular Solomon' last visit. The band lists summer plans: Spirit Midwest, Brush Arbor (a multi-denominational gathering in Missouri), a community homecoming, and the state fair; they joke about Janet Jackson closing the fair and expecting their own announcement next. The band's shirts and their scripture verse, Matthew 16:18, get a plug.
  • Matthew 16:18, Peter's confession, praying versus preaching 28:42–33:03
A host reads 'On this rock I will build my church' (Matthew 16:18) and argues Jesus meant Peter's confession of faith, not Peter physically — noting Peter denied Christ to a teenage girl five chapters later. The talk moves to Pentecost: 3,000 came to Christ after the upper-room prayer, and 'Paul says some plant, some water' (1 Corinthians 3:6), so the hosts' calling is prayer, not preaching — 'God's going to raise who he wants to do the speaking.' Chat-room discussion about engagement is addressed: they felt prayer was the assignment, and 'if God had it on us to walk out there,' they would have heard it.
  • On This Rock debuts 'Come Home'; cashew/caboy gag 33:03–40:33
In the spirit of the worship and prayer gathering, On This Rock debuts an original song, 'Come Home' — first time ever performed outside of practice, based on scripture and Proverbs ('At the gates she cries aloud'). After the performance, a host asks for a copy to sing in worship. A $58 shirt joke ('You can make the check out to Ben Foost') leads into the cashew/caboy pronunciation gag, with Gary Busey's 'called John Rich caboy' as the reference point.
  • Original worship performance: 'Be Lifted High' with Isaiah 6 40:33–46:27
After a show ident, the band introduces another original worship song, 'Be Lifted High,' which the writer describes as begging God to be lifted high in his life. He reads Isaiah 6 — the Lord high and exalted, seraphs with six wings crying 'holy, holy, holy' — then the band performs the song. The hosts note the song caught on at their church and praise its simple chorus.
  • Slash-solo gag, worship-session vision, handicap-space bit 46:27–50:32
After 'Be Lifted High,' the hosts joke about bringing Slash in for a 'November Rain'-style guitar solo, or hiring a long-haired 'Papa Shango' rocker with a swappable wig instead ('like Ben suggested'). They pitch live worship sessions in the prayer rooms with crowds, then riff on a long-haired rocker standing in a handicap parking space, asking whether it's illegal to stand in one if you're 'not a handy' — answered with 'if you're keeping someone from parking there.'
  • Break: anniversary clip package and 'It Is Well' sendoff 50:32–57:20
A host announces a quick break and plays the one-year anniversary clip package ('only because we do not have any other clips to show you'). On This Rock's second song is introduced as the writer's personal favorite — the hymn 'It Is Well With My Soul,' described as the greatest hymn ever written, penned by a man who lost everything at the bottom of his life. The transcript goes silent from 3094s to 3440s (audio gap covering the clip package and performance); speech resumes at 3163s with a 'Live from the REMAX studios in downtown Des Moines' ident.
  • Absurdist comedy bits and fake listener letters 57:20–1:03:59
The hosts riff through absurdist non-sequiturs — origami undies, 'shady internet characters' giving kids 'a pucker on the head,' Ben Vereen, Keith Olsen, a half-naked bust mannequin in the church office, and the repeated 'Slowjack' gag. A bit follows with a character saying 'My name's Ben' who 'calls it the street Jesus,' addressing Cassie and reading a fake letter to Abby: 'Mike and Ben, they make fun of my shirt every single week. They say I look like a couch.' A host named Daniel is addressed ('It's very adult, Daniel,' 'Daniel, what did I tell you about that?').
  • In-studio logistics: cameras, Saved on Sunday, show schedule 1:03:59–1:06:23
A host asks Mike if he has anything going on, then directs cameras as Saved on Sunday arrives ('Did you see Saved on Sunday's here?'); Dana is in the double shot, Dan is asked about the video, and Clint gets the 'eagle eye' — 'He's got the face that'll sell a Heath bar,' prompting 'Ben hates Heath bars.' The hosts give the show schedule: live Monday nights 10 to midnight on livefromthepath.org, plus the first Sunday of the month on Praise 940 around 5 o'clock, with newsletter, podcast, and past band performances on the site.
  • Saved on Sunday: prayer-room worship and the Holy of Holies 1:06:23–1:10:44
Saved on Sunday is welcomed back to the studio; the hosts thank them for supporting the prayer events. Mr. Brown took a two-hour prayer slot (10 to midnight Saturday). A host describes the 'Holy of Holies' — a curtained-off corner of the prayer room with just a chair, a Bible, a table, and a lamp, its curtains taken from a closing theater. Worship reflections follow: reading the resurrection narratives with Easter coming, and the line 'The stone wasn't rolled away so Jesus could get out — it was rolled away so you could see He was not there anymore.'
  • Sister in the Navy, Jerusalem for Passion Week 1:10:44–1:13:06
A host shares that his sister is in the Navy, serving on the ship that fired tomahawks at Libya, and is now spending Passion Week in Israel, visiting the tomb in Jerusalem. The hosts talk about touring Israel with someone who knows the sites, like Mark Driscoll's tour, while one host confesses terrible biblical geography — mixing up Jesus of Nazareth, of Galilee, 'of somewhere' — and reads about Jesus alternating between Jewish and non-Jewish towns.
  • Prayer-room testimonies: prayer walls, maps room, Ohio joke 1:13:06–1:17:43
A host who 'doesn't read Russian novels' jokes that he changed Sodom and Gomorrah to Ohio in his Bible — 'God destroyed Ohio' — before testimony about the prayer room: reading strangers' prayer requests on the walls and feeling drawn to pray for people he'll never meet. Another host describes a maps room where you place a sticker on a map of Des Moines, and the weight of reading painful childhood-experience requests: 'I have nothing to say here… We better pray on this thing.'
  • Beacon-light testimony: 'I'm your light' and 1 John 1 1:17:43–1:25:38
A guest recounts Dan showing him around the prayer room, where Mike had hung a random flashing beacon light. Praying in the dark, he felt prompted to study it: a light with a revolving cupped mirror — and heard, 'I'm your light… You don't produce your own light, but as you revolve around me… you cast my light.' He then read 1 John 1 in the Holy of Holies: 'God is light; in him there is no darkness at all… the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from every sin.' The hosts rib him for getting 'cool things' while 'God just beats me.'
  • On This Rock's 'It Is Well,' vocal jokes, worship-night promo 1:25:38–1:28:56
On This Rock performed 'It Is Well,' which one host tried to sing along to until 'Ben turned my microphone down' — he jokes he has 'the singing voice of a dying badger' and a six-note range, cracking at the seventh, and attempts 'Mama little baby got shortening bread.' The band previews Friday's Rock and Worship Night, 7 to 10, at Glad's Hidings Assembly (3120 East Army Post Road, across from the YMCA by Fort Des Moines), with Saved on Sunday, By Its Right Name, and Dark Horse. The first night at Eagle Vision Church with Syndrome of Fire and Piercing Darkness packed the room, and eight people came to know God.
  • Rock and Worship Night details and new-band scouting 1:28:56–1:33:57
The hosts promote the 'Rock and Worship Night' Facebook event: $3 cover — 'three bucks, three hours, three bands' — Saved on Sunday first, then By Its Right Name, a free-will offering with a short message, then Dark Horse, plus concessions. They discuss scaling the monthly nights to bi-monthly or weekly by finding more bands: Broken Point of View (southern Iowa) for the May tent show, Eyes Wide Open (who charged $2 back at the tomb days), and Hevel, a Des Moines Christian rock band found on Reverb Nation that hasn't responded after two messages — after finding the hosts via a Craigslist ad seeking Christian bands.
  • Saved on Sunday in studio: logo, website, merch, photo shoot 1:33:57–1:36:18
Saved on Sunday is formally introduced: listeners have heard them on Live from the Path before, and they've 'graciously agreed to come back in the studio' to perform and talk. The band shows a new sharp-looking logo, a website (savedonsunday.com) launching in about six weeks, and merch — T-shirts, CDs, wristbands. Their downtown photo shoot happened in pouring rain, shot by Amanda Moe (Amanda Moe Photography on Facebook), and 'made for some cool photos.'
  • 'Do You Know Him' acoustic performance 1:36:18–1:42:03
Saved on Sunday performs their original song 'Do You Know Him' from their Revolution album — never done acoustic before, their set-closer 'jam' with guitar solos. During the song a host cues 'Go ahead Sean' for the guitar solo. The hosts praise it afterward: 'I'd like that tune to be played when I walk out of the house in the morning' and want it for the minivan commute 'so I can think I'm a little cooler than I am.'
  • Minivan flooring story and the Jesus Christ Superstar debate 1:42:03–1:45:39
A host tells of stacking his minivan with free laminate flooring for the ministry center, then sleeping on the three-foot stack overnight rather than drive home between meetings — 'Don't buy a van.' A Kia Optima alarm-clock story leads into Jesus Christ Superstar: the London recording's second disc is 'hit and miss,' and the apostles are portrayed as 'big Nancys' — debated with Andrew, Peter, and James and John as examples, plus Peter's denial after following 'at a distance' and getting stopped by a servant girl. The hosts joke about meeting Peter in heaven: 'I will contend that we were saved by the same grace — and then I'll shove him.'
  • Peter-in-heaven banter, monthly show, Hardee's chicken tenders 1:45:39–1:49:35
The Peter-shoving riff continues ('there went the Catholic viewers'; 'This show is not for me'), pivoting to the monthly Praise 940 show: 'Ben goes for broke on that monthly show — he finds the most offensive stuff that we talked about and puts it in an hour,' including a remembered 45-minute segment on an online poo tracker. The hosts plug Friday's show at the Glad Tidings Assembly with directions (on 14th, across from the Y, by Fort Des Moines Church of Christ and Gunn Pond), then rave about Hardee's chicken tenders from a Missouri road trip — 'fresh out of the fryer' — and the chicken-tender wrap.
  • Disciple opener invitation and Oscars seat-filler bit 1:49:35–1:51:21
A Saved on Sunday member shares that Travis McDaniel from Earlham Church of Christ called mid-service to invite the band to open for Disciple at the end of June — 'Try not to sound too like… let me check with the guys.' The hosts note Clint does promotional work for the Heath Company and Aiden is on tour with the Second Chapter. The episode closes with an Oscars seat-filler bit: sitting next to Tom Hanks for five minutes to change 'his Scientology ways' — corrected to Tom Cruise ('That's both of them'), adding John Travolta and Steven Spielberg, with a 'nano nano' gag.
  • 'He is worthy' closer and sign-off 1:51:21–1:55:51
Saved on Sunday plays one more song to carry out the evening — 'He is worthy,' played on their last visit ('It was the ants or the spiders'). After the count-in the band performs the song through to the end of the show, and the hosts sign off: 'Thanks for listening, and have a wonderful night.'

to do and i just i really want to just sort this out i don't want to feel like this you know because i was just having anxiety about it and i just kept coming up with uh bible verses you know with like don't don't have anxiety you know i'm like okay well how do i get rid of it you know i thought well i guess i'll just talk i'll talk to god about it and we'll see what happens and so uh you know i came in and prayed last night and man i just all day at work i was just kind of praying in and out i'm like you know i just i'm not dealing with this right you know just help me to deal with it right i know i'm not doing this correctly and so um after you know i went to work and whatever i got home and uh you know man i just had i had a great night with my wife and my kids and uh man i i got i got back in the car to to come out to the show and i just had a whole sense of peace about this whole thing that i that i hadn't had before and i hadn't like thought about it real hard and and searched through it and saw it and i you know put it on paper and trying to figure out what i thought and i don't know i just had a piece about it and it just hit me when i was driving in i thought you know here's why here's here's why it is the way it is and i thought you know what if what if my what if a close you know member of my family was a drug dealer addicted to drugs you know and he just couldn't get out of it but he thought it was great you know he thought you know i i love being a drug dealer stop harassing me you know is that going to keep me from thinking i just wish he would get off these drugs you know and and and i thought you know that that is my view for the atheists that's why that's that's why we're praying for them it's not because they're they're they're bad people or we don't like them or you know like it's just it's just i i recognize the gift that god's given me and i think they just they haven't had that experience and the thing is is most of them will say you know i don't want anything to do with your god i i it's stupid you know and then they'll go so far as to like start calling god slanderous names and that's kind of a you know that that's direct offensive you know on purpose you know trying to get people away from them and you know right and and you know that'll happen either when you back somebody in a corner like with a direct attack on them you know and they feel their only way to get out is a huge you know obscene defense or uh you know they're just doing it to shock because they think that you'll be easily blown over like some kind of you know read the wind and uh and i thought i thought this is the this is the reason that that that we're praying like this is because i i've i've been where they are you know and i thought they can't say that to me you know they can't say i've been where you are

and i'm out of here you know i've had a close personal relationship with uh you know the son of man who died for our sins i've had that relationship and i've thrown it aside you know but i can look at them and say i've been where you're at i've walked without christ as my savior before and i'll take christ as my savior every day of the week every day of the week i'll do that and so i can say that i've been where you're at maybe without you know i don't know the the conflict but i've been where you're at i've been in a relationship that's not with christ and it's a drag you know it's not every day at drag you know it's not every day this is the worst day ever and you know there's you know but there's there's a there's a purpose of life and And there's a, I don't know, there's a heart place, you know. And frankly, you know, people like me especially, I dig on the structure. Like I need God's rules, you know, to provide me a path. You know, I mean, because I thought I could do it on my own for a long time, you know. And I wasn't a terrible guy. I was fairly nice to people, whatever. I seemed to wrangle up affection of a woman or, you know, that kind of thing. Wrangle up the affection of a woman. I think that's how she put it. But I guess what I'm saying is it's not like, you know, from outward appearances I was a jerk, you know. But I didn't truly understand how to love my wife until I saw what Jesus had to say about it. I didn't truly understand how to love my kids, you know, until, you know, I read the Bible and what God's take on it was. And that doesn't mean that people who don't know Christ as their Savior don't love their kids. That's not what it means. But Jesus, you know, God set these rules up to help lessen the risk of failure. Sin is what brings things to wrong, you know. And so, you know, the reason that the Bible is what it is, you know, it's basically a long instruction book on how God set things out and how he got to the way that things are. And, you know, I don't know. I look at people who don't know Christ and, you know, a strong believing atheist or just a guy in the street who hasn't even thought about it. They're the same, you know. It's not like they're having a I could carry the way convention, you know.

If they had a convention, I suppose we'd pray for those guys too, you know. Sure, sure. So, I mean, it's not a direct affront on it. The I could carry the way convention. They can't really come up with where they're going to have the hotel stay. Where do we serve for dinner? I could carry. Ah, whatever. Who's our guest speaker? Ah, I don't know. Who's in the mood? Can we just play bingo or something? I don't know. Pretty easy to get along with. It was surprising to me at the emotion of people who were not in agreement with us praying for them. Emotion is even a pretty weak word. I mean, they were angry. There was venom just spewing out of some of these posts they put on Facebook on our event page. And it was just surprising. And I just kept asking, well, what's the deal? I mean, we're praying. We're not going to your convention. We're not wearing Jesus t-shirts. We're not bringing Bibles. We're not talking to you. We're not going to your workshops. We're not—I mean, we're not—you won't even know we're there other than we accidentally made a public event instead of a private event. And people started spreading it. And then people got invited that probably didn't want to be part of it.

But I'm like, if you don't believe in prayer and you don't believe in our God, why do you care? We're just another people down the hall of the motel room that is irrelevant to you. But they were angry. Angry. Well, see, you know what? I kind of—maybe it was naive of me, but I thought that our non-confrontational, we're not going to bother you approach would somehow just be like, you know, whatever. You know, if you guys want to go out there and waste your time, you know, whatever. I appreciate it. Thanks for not protesting and causing a big scene. Well, if my neighbor, you know, says, hey, I'm going to the big UFO convention and we're going to, you know, send up signals in the space to blow up your house or something, I'd be like, oh, man, that's really cool. I mean, because I think that's stupid. Right. I don't believe in it. Right. It's not going to happen. I hope you have a good time. You go have a good time with that. You know, think about me. That'd be really nice. I don't know. But that's not how they're—they're not looking at it that way. I guess I just didn't—yeah. And I don't know. Like, I just—I didn't think it would be—I mean, I—you know, there's always some faction. I mean, there's factions of Christianity that get fired up for no reason, you know, and start getting all preachy and judgmental and that kind of thing. But I don't know. For a free-thinking society, I thought, you know, they would respect the non-confrontational, you know, approach that, you know—I mean, the same thing like a political party, you know. Like, I believe in big government. This so-and-so believes in small government.

Look, you know, I'm not going to go to your— Having a bold conversation. Right, I'm not going to go to your convention and bash on you, but I'm going to continue to believe what I believe. And if I think this is the avenue that can, you know, shine itself out to be the truth and it's not confrontational or hurtful or, you know, a name-calling or whatever, I don't know. I thought people would respect a healthy thing about it, but I was mistaken. Well, considering all of their marketing as they, you know, tell all the major world religions that they're idiots and they're billboards that, you know, they're doing, and they talk about their reason and their logic, I guess I assume they would use reason and logic and say, oh, you people, you know. Right. If they just wanted to, like— But then they'd call names. Yeah, if they just wanted to, like, snub their nose or look down on us, I'm like, well, that's okay. I don't care. You know what I mean? Snub me. I don't care. Yeah, that's fine. So, I don't know. I think maybe I was just naive on the whole thing, you know. And once again, I mean, you can't color everybody with the same brush here. Right. I mean, there's people who claim to represent Christ that I think, oh, man, will you just not say anything else? Yeah, you're embarrassing me. You're really making it, having a hard time for us to witness in the future. Well, and I think one of the things that we can reasonably take from this is a lot of the reaction that's come from those folks is because they've had past interactions with people who are purporting to do what it is that we're purporting to do, and they did it in a significantly different manner. You know what I'm saying? They're the, I'm going to beat you over the head with the Bible thing. In your face. Yeah, here you'll understand the love of Jesus, wham. Right, here's why I'm better than you. I know Christ, you don't.

We're not there to say they're sinners. We're not there to say they're evil. We're not there to say, you know, keep them away from my children. We're just there to say, hey, we're going to quietly pray. Right, because frankly, I mean, you boil it down, just as the Bible states, none of that's true. You know, like, there's bad people and Jesus, and that's it. Like, those are the options. Everyone is bad. Everybody is inherently bad. Sin runs through everybody. Yeah. And so there's not, like, bad people, good people, because they know who Jesus is, and then Jesus. It's just Jesus and bad people, and that's it. That's all there is. Yeah, yeah. And so it's the exact same level playing field, you know? And so I get to reap the benefits of knowing Christ is my Savior, you know? And, you know, maybe I just don't see anything wrong with wanting them to be able to experience the same. Well, so here was the question. A couple things that came up in those discussions that Dan was engaged to at all hours in the morning. So I came here. I had a prayer room slot this early, this Monday morning. So I was going to go from 2 to 4. And Spangelanger was here. And so we hung out in the prayer room for a couple hours. And Dan was here, and he wasn't supposed to be here until 4 o'clock. He had a slot at 4 o'clock.

And I find him here at 2 in the morning. I'm assuming he'd been here for an hour or somewhere close to him. I don't even know. Yeah. And he is actively engaging this conversation on this Facebook event with all the atheists that are finding the event. And I think we figured it out that because it was a public event, they could search atheists and our event was coming up because it was the closest date. And then they're like, wait a minute, prayer, that's not right. But so some of the things, some of their comments, one was, why does it have to be at the convention? Like, it was disrespectful for us to have chosen a venue at which they are trying to hold a convention. Why does it have to be there? If prayer is powerful, why can't you pray at home? Why can't you pray here? Why can't you pray across the street? Why do you have to do it in the convention? What's the answer? Well, we really aren't doing it at their convention. We're doing it at the same building, yes, and we're doing it on purpose. Mostly, I would say that's for us. That's for our focus. That's what I thought, too. You know, that's for our, like, you know, we just want to go there and pray and, like, we're being intentional. We're not just, like, sitting around, like, even in here, this is our prayer room that we're doing now. This is, like, a secondary prayer room we're doing, the atheist one. And it would be easy to just kind of do it here and kind of, like, okay, pray for those people downtown. But it's something different about, like, just walking through a hallway and going to a room and saying, okay, in this building, God, there's a bunch of people who don't believe in you. Would you bless them?

Would you even reveal yourself to them, you know, if you so choose, however you want to do that? And so it's just this intentional step on our part to say we love you enough to sacrifice this time and go down to this place. It's not a we think you're wrong and we're right. And at least that wasn't our intention. No, no, it wasn't. It wasn't the intention. And actually, I thought the exact same thing. You know, there's a lot of difference between praying for faceless people that I don't know inside this prayer room than maybe looking at ten people on my way in and just thinking, well, I guess they're probably it. You know, they're probably atheists. You know, I just pray for them, you know. So, like, and it was, it doesn't take away from the power of God at all or, you know, sacrifice his deity that he doesn't need to be in the building. We don't have to be in the building for his prayer to work. You don't even have to pray for him to do whatever he wants. You know, it's not like we're doing, you know, that God needs us to do anything, you know. But I think it's more of a, it's a personal thing like, you know, Lord, I can see what you got going. And these people are hurting. I just pray that, you know, if there's any way that you can show yourself to them, so maybe they might be open to a relationship with you, then that's what we're here for. And the whole thing was set up to be, like we said, non-confrontational. We weren't even supposed to know that we were going to be there. And you know what? And that de facto, the default is, is that because of that, whatever happens truly is God moving. You know, if you don't show up with protest signs and church shirts on and Jesus, you know, loudspeakers, then if anything moves and someone just happens to show up to you and say, what are you doing here? You know, boy, that's real odd, isn't it? Like how many times am I just walking down the street and someone pulls me over and wants to know exactly what I got going on? Or at a motel.

If you're at a John Deere convention at the local motel and someone else is walking around without John Deere Green on, you're going to pull them aside and say, wait a minute. Wait a minute. You're from the case dealership. Maybe I'm traveling through town. Maybe I like their donuts for breakfast. Right. Maybe there's another convention in town that I just happen to be here. You know, so the thing is, is like, who's to say whether God's going to do that or not? I don't know. But, you know, if it did boil down to it and something happened, you could say, you know, it wasn't us. We didn't do it. You know, it was quiet in, quiet out. Exactly. You should know none the wiser. Yeah. And so that was the purpose of it. The purpose was to hand the heavy lifting over to God who can do it. We can't do anything. Very much as a result, I mean, a perfect fact in point is you're 530 a.m. talking with the atheist. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know how these conversations go. They don't go smooth. They don't go well. Right. You know, and the love gets lost is basically the whole thing. Like, it gets broken down to a black and white and a judgment about how much you're judging me. Like, I can smell it from my computer in Maryland how much Dan Hudson is judging me from his computer. Yeah.

You know, and… It's like, I don't even know you. Right. It's like a pre-assessment judgment and, you know, probably because they've ran into a sect of judgmental Christians or judgmental religion, you know, that does think like that. And all I can say is I'm sorry that happened. Yeah. You know, but, I mean, like I said, we have the same screw-ups in the Christian church that you have on your side of the fence, too. Sure. You know, so, I mean, we can't… I'm one of them, you know, and so, I mean, it's not like we're hiding them anywhere. I think we're all thinking that. They're out and about. Well, and here's the deal, too. You know, if I don't believe in UFOs and the UFO convention is sending signals up into space for the mothership and all of a sudden a UFO shows up in my backyard, even though I don't believe in it, I think that'd be kind of cool to say, wow, I guess I was wrong. Right. I've really screwed this up. I would say, wow, thanks for sending out the signals because there's something I didn't realize. I'd have been on my own here. I'm open-minded enough to think, hey, I could have been wrong. Well, evidently, that's not true on their behalf, but at least not the ones that were dialoguing with us. Yeah, yeah. It's like, no, we're so closed-minded. You're wrong. We're right. And, like, we're not even saying that. No. Well, you know, that's not true, though. I do think they're wrong, and I am right. You know what I'm saying?

Like, there's a basic… Yeah. That's the problem with those… But that wasn't what we were going to do, I mean. Yeah, you're right. I agree. But that's the problem with those type of interchanges is, like, if we put up an event where we are going to be praying at an atheist convention for them, like, it is implicit that we think differently than they do. Yeah. I believe something is true. They do not believe it is true. We are naturally in disagreement over that particular fact. Our actions about, you know, if I think that this thing is true and I think it's important that they think it's true, not because it's self-serving. I guess that's the thing that I think we had a lot of trouble getting across is, like, these are people that agree to, at sometimes early hours of the day, like, early hours in the morning, to leave their family on a holiday weekend to come pray for people they don't know for no personal benefit at all. You know what I'm saying? Like, what would be the benefit if they're not engaging with you whatsoever? You know, we don't get to talk. No pamphlets, no T-shirts, nothing. Okay? They don't even get the satisfaction of feeling like they could have done something. They will not be able to see any impact at all because they will not be talking to anybody at all. You know what I'm saying? So, like, there's not a selfish aspect to this at all. There's no one that could be doing this for their own personal gain. And yet it can be such an abrasive thing for those folks. It's tough. Because here's what I can do. If I can sit at my house and I can say that if there's a Jehovah's Witness that comes to my door or a Mormon that comes to my door, that guy believes that I believe the wrong thing. Most of the time I'm pretty comfortable that he believes what he believes and he thinks I'm just wrong and he thinks he's helping me by talking to me. I tolerate those conversations.

We talk. Sometimes we pray. Right? But we get through those because I know that guy is doing what he believes is right. Right? And I don't fault him for knocking on my door and saying, you abrasive punk. Why would you? You know, he thinks this is the only way I can talk to him. I'm not going to run into Ben Foost at the grocery store. I'm going to knock on the door. I'm going to try to talk to him to get him to believe what I believe. Okay? We're not doing anything near close to that. Right. And it's so offensive that we're even in the building. But it's, again, from a reasonable perspective, I can look at the Mormon and I can say, I get where you're coming from. We disagree. We're not going to come to the same spot. But, like, I can understand where you're coming from. And then these, the being reasonable from since 1963 people, all right, can't look at this and say, you know what? I completely disagree. I think they're fools. I think there are fools in the room praying to the wind. They're wasting their lives doing this. But I at least get where they're coming from. You know, they're not nefarious. They're just trying to pray for me because they think it will help. Fine. You know what I'm saying?

So that's what I don't get is, like, there's nothing abrasive about that. There's nothing abrasive about what it is that we were talking about. Well, and actually, I bet you'd probably find that people who are true atheists probably do think like that. You know, probably do think like that. Maybe so. People who de facto atheism because they're, whatever, they're just mad at the world. The 16-year-old kid who's in their mom's basement. Right. That's who probably half these people were, I bet. Right. And so, and once again, you know, you can't, you can't, you can't color them all, you know, just like you can't color Christians, you can't color them all with the same brush. You know, I'm sure there's, there's, there's, you know, sects of atheism that will, that are completely logical and would look at us as a bunch of circus idiots, you know? Sure, fair enough. You know, and that's, you know, okay. There's parts of the church that would look at us as circus idiots. Yeah. You know what? I haven't met a person yet that doesn't think that. Shelley Carson. The thing is, is like we saw, there was somebody who was arguing with somebody that was, it wasn't this, but it was like similar to this and they're like, you know, 70% or 80% of the nation is Christian. I'm like, really? You know, may, may profess it, may say that, but I mean like, like how many are holding to the, to the tenants of Christ where you could really say, you know, you're obviously in the, I, I bet we're, we're pretty close to the same and I, I don't like, like I really don't like to have to say that.

But if you think the amount of people that have fallen away from God and the amount of people that are truly following the tenants of Jesus Christ, there's probably not a huge difference. There is a large gray area. There's a large playing field of people who are dabbling in either one, depending on who's around them and what's going on. Uh, you know, and so, so it's likely that the, the, the folks that are getting irritated with what we're doing have run into the other people who are, you know, professing Christ and, and not showing it in their lives whatsoever, you know, and you know, I, I'm comfortable that I, I, we couldn't have gone about this any more selflessly or unabrasively, um, with saying, you know, and frankly, more effectively, uh, because for me, God will change hearts. We're not changing hearts. Uh, the war of words is not going to work. We're not holding up a sign saying, you guys, you, I'm telling you, we're going to a room quietly and praying to a God who's more powerful than a, than a silly little sign that we might paint and with a bullhorn or something. Right. You know, you guys are all sinners. We're just going to pray. And maybe, you know, we're looking at, what do you guys think? We're looking at, there's obviously one side, because we've been talking about this for, for a long time. Um, so maybe you guys just, they're going, these guys are just fools. I mean, uh, maybe you have an objective, a thought here. Not really. No, um, uh, I, I, I listened, you know, to what you guys were saying. And I think that, that, you know, the, the heaping of coals upon their heads, heads and things like that. I, I, well, here's, I thought about this, you know, you can, you can shoot a lot of darts towards the enemy.

You can try to fire off an attack. And I think whenever you finally hit the nail on the head and you've aroused the ire of the enemy, meaning the devil here, we're not talking about people, not atheists, but whenever you've, whenever you start to hit close to the target, you know, where Satan says, you know, you catch his attention, I think he'll let you know you've got his attention. Um, you know, Satan, and I'm not saying that Satan uses just atheists, you know, as you said, Satan uses people from the church too. Uh, you know, he, he'll, uh, you know, use conflict and discord and everything like that. So again, I'm not just singling out atheists and saying that they're filled with the devil. They don't even believe in the devil. Right. So, but, uh, whenever you start, you know, prayer is a powerful thing. And I think if you would have said, you know, we are going to go down there and protest with a bunch of signs and bullhorns and stuff like that, that, you know, you probably wouldn't have gotten a whole lot of spiritual attack over this. You would have gotten a lot of, uh, earthly physical attack possibly over this. But I think, you know, when you decide to do warfare in the spiritual realm, that you'll get attacks in the spiritual realm because that's the battlefield you've chosen to enter. Right, right. So, you know, I, this is definitely the way to go about it because Jesus himself said, we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities. Right. So, uh, you know, there's no better way to go about, uh, warfare for a physical person than to do that type of battle, that type of warfare in the spiritual realm. Um, so that's, it's the best way to go about it. Well, I think too, the atheists, uh, the serious atheists, they're, they're not concerned with what you're saying. They're concerned with how you're saying it. They're concerned with how you're delivering the message.

They, that's what they're keying in on is, is how are these people delivering this message? And you're, the way you're doing it is, is much more powerful than protests and because they see that all the time. Um, they don't see the, the, not to say the sneak attacks, but the, the true genuine prayer for people, they, they, they don't like that. They don't like the way you're bringing your message. Yeah. Well, I mean, look how effective the Westboro Baptist Church is. They're a joke. You know what I'm saying? They're a joke. Yeah. They're a joke. You know, I mean, they're an absolute joke. They're abomination to the whole setup. And, and, and they're the first ones out there with a sign. I'm still not convinced that they're not a plant from the other side. I wouldn't doubt that. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. There's too, there's too many characters and cartoons, you know, that are just. Well, it, it came out, uh, the, this tells you where those guys are at. The Ku Klux Klan came out with a press release over the weekend that they're not associated with those guys. What is that? That's terrible. This just in. The longest running hate organization in the United States says, look, we're not, we're not,

we're not associated with Westboro Baptist Church. Guys, we're not even that bad. Come on. And maybe this is a case where we're talking about two whole different worlds. You know, we understand the church world. So we look at like that church, quote unquote, and we go like, man, we're nothing like that. Maybe there's atheists that, that they don't know our world at all. So they're just assuming we're the same thing. We're assuming all the atheists are alike. Yeah. And they're like, we're just the fun atheists, you know? Right. I mean, we don't, we don't hate everybody, whatever. You know, you guys want to be idiots. That's cool. Come hang out with us, you know? Yeah. I know some atheists personally. And if you delve into why you're an atheist, there's always something in the background. Yeah. Something's happened. A hurt, a disappointment. A hurt, a disappointment. A lifestyle they don't want to change. Yep. Something that needs to be healed. But no matter, no matter what your religion is, and atheism isn't absolutely a religion, no matter how they want to view that. I mean, it's a religion.

It's a religion of non-religion. So, but no matter what your religion is, if you believe in it with all your heart, if you, you know, if that's your life, if that's what you wrap your world around and somebody starts to unravel that or somebody does something that just gives you the thought in the back of your mind, this whole thing could come apart at the seams on me, then it makes you a very defensive person. And we're entering the time of the year where this is very close to the hearts of a lot of people, right? I mean, I used to look at the passion plays and the Easter stories of, man, these evil Jews and how could they do something like this to such a kind and, you know, which that's part of it. But the other thing of this is, is these were really dedicated followers of Jehovah God. And here all of a sudden somebody shows up on the scene who says, wait a second, I'm God and I'm here to fulfill your law. And that just completely flipped their belief system on its head and they weren't ready to deal with that. And it made them violent people. Right, right. In defense of God. Right, right. Blasphemy, you know. You know, and you'll get a genuine Muslim. I mean, not a phony kind of a secular Muslim or these other sects of Islam like, you know, the Nation of Islam and some of these phony things like that. But you get a genuine Islamist, a genuine Muslim who feels the absolute same way. I've heard from so many different missionaries that comes back from overseas, we have them come to our church that we support them, that go to countries, they said, you know, we've got to not record the service because if it ever got out that this person was in this country, then they'd be a target next time they went back.

Yeah. And, you know, time after time after time, you know, they say that a lot of these hard line Muslims hate America so bad, not because of who we are, but because of, you know, we're a Christian nation, right? So many people in this country are Christians. We're a so-called Christian nation. Right. And look at what their movies are. And listen to their music, you know, it's offensive to them. It's vulgar to them. They cover their women up. That's vulgar to us anyway. Right. You know, but they don't, they don't know that. So they see that, you know, and a lot of them say, you know, we don't have anything to do with this because this is, this is wrong. They're offended our hypocrisy. Right. Yeah. Well, fair enough. They got a line on it. Any time, any time you start hitting close to the belt, you know, unraveling somebody's religion or, or the enemy, you get too close to the enemy, he'll let you know it. You know, you'll know when you're effective by the attacks that you receive. Yeah. I agree. All right. Well, you've been listening to Live from the Path. Thanks for joining us tonight.

We're broadcasting live from the Pathway prayer room in studio on this rock is here. Saved on Sunday is also there in the prayer room at the moment. They'll be swapping out at about 11 o'clock. So, uh, I tell you what, let's, let's get, uh, let's, let's re-engage ourselves with on this rock. How have you guys been? Doing well. Good. Doing well. Good. Yeah. Everybody's looking good. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. What'd you do with that one ugly guy that was with you last time? The singer? What was he? Jeremy. We'll go by. Yeah. What happened to him? He was, uh, he's, he was working actually real late. So he absolutely intended to be here. And, uh, he sent me a text like 20 minutes before we were ready to head this way saying that, uh, he poured concrete all day long and that he was troweling and he just wasn't done. Mike, they didn't, they didn't get rid of him. He, he's still in the band.

He's still in the band. You can't say things like, where's that ugly guy? Oh, yeah. He was all right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There were two ugly guys. I was trying to figure out which one. Oh, no, no. No, actually, I remember, I remember Jeremy quite well. Cause he, he led me astray on Secular Solomon. Uh, we tried to buddy up last time. Yeah. Actually, I, I, I more succubus'd him. I kind of, I kind of came right up to him and tried to steal his answers. And then when they were wrong, I said, come on, Jeremy. So he really led me astray there, but, uh, I miss him. I miss him. He's a good looking fella. Yeah. I'll really miss him here in a little bit whenever I attempt to sing our songs for us. Uh, so I, I, speaking of which actually, so we'll, we'll, we'll hear from on this rock here in just a few minutes. Um, maybe give us a heads up. What do you guys got coming up? Anything coming up? Yeah, we've got, uh, we got several things lined up over the summer. Um, several things way out of town too.

Um, we've got Spirit Midwest, obviously, which we've talked about before. Awesome. Uh, we've got an event called Brush Arbor, which is like a, um, a multi-denominational gathering. The one in Missouri? Yep. Uh, we've got that coming up. And then we're also doing a homecoming for a, uh, a community homecoming. Uh, not like a high school football game or anything like that, but it's a community homecoming that they've, uh, actually invited a, a Christian rock band to come down and play, which is a very unusual thing for, for this town to do. So we're excited about going down and doing that as well. That's very cool. Yeah. The state fair. We have the state fair. The state fair as well. Oh yeah. What do you, do you know what stage you're at or? Um, no, we're not sure yet. We just put in a couple of different dates, so they kind of pick and put us, slot us, so we should know in probably two or three weeks. Yeah, that's cool. That's cool. And now, now, it's Janet Jackson, so we're expecting our announcement to come next. Yeah, they got Janet covered. She's hard to deal with, so. Janet's coming to the fair. Last day of the fair.

I didn't, I didn't. She's the closer. I don't keep an eye on stuff. No. Okay. But you guys, she wants to come on the show. You guys do have, uh, uh, shirts for sale, right? Well, they're not really for sale. Oh, we should sell them. We should sell them, shouldn't we? We, yeah, we, we have some. I kind of turned the camera off me, but they, they, they, they showed up with On This Rock t-shirts, and they're cool. Yeah, they're cool looking. Yeah, I like them. Yeah, they're, they're way hip. Ben, what do you, yours hanging around? Oh, yeah. And even if, even if you're not into, to us as a band, the, the point of the shirt is the message, you know? Yeah. And, and the scripture verse. Makes me feel like a pirate. I knew I remembered that from somewhere. I could not remember the scripture that On This Rock is from. It's from the Bible. Yeah, Matthew, Matthew. It's from the Bible, Troy. We didn't, we didn't take our scripture from the Koran.

I should read God's number one best scripture. On This Rock, I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Yeah. Matthew 16, 18. It's a cool shirt. It's, it's way hip. I suggest that you should send these fellas some cash and get your, get a shirt yourself. Yeah, I don't want to flip anybody's theology upside down or anything, but you know, obviously everybody thinks that, that Jesus was referring to Peter, because he called Peter a rock. And it's my, my belief that Jesus wasn't referring to Peter physically, but he was referring to Peter's confession of faith. Because right before that verse, he asked Peter, he said, who do you say that I am? And Peter confessed with his mouth who that he said Jesus Christ was. And that's when Jesus said, on this rock, not on you, because Peter's long since gone, and the church still continues to thrive. But he said, on this rock, on your confession of faith, I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. You confess my name, and I'll build my church on that, and the gates of hell will never, never prevail against that. But yeah, I'd buy that, because Peter nances his way out to a teenage girl, not five chapters later. Oh man, Peter had a, Peter had a rough run. He did have a rough run. I don't want to take anything away from him. I've never preached and had 3,000 people come to Jesus all at once, you know, so I don't want to take anything away from Peter either, so. I think God does what he wants and sent 3,000 people, a stick could have done it. Sorry, Pete.

You notice, wait a minute, now 3,000 people came to Christ because they were in an upper room praying just hours earlier. Absolutely. So God will raise up the one who's speaking, who's going to be the preacher. That's what I'm saying, we're not worried about that, that's not our goal. God's going to raise who he wants to do the speaking, to do the preaching, just kind of addressing some of the chat stuff that's going on. It's like, God will do that. He's big enough. He's God. He's called us to pray. He's called someone else to speak. Maybe it'll be us. Who knows? Paul says some water, some, you know, some plant, some water, you know, so forth. We're praying. That's what we're doing. Yeah, absolutely. And God can do whatever he wants. Maybe he'll be a Peter in the crowd that'll grow up or walk up and the 3,000 atheists will, you know, come to Christ. And I'll tell you, here's what I'm confident. With the amount of time and focus that we've put on praying for this event, if it was supposed to be something where we were to engage somebody, I'm pretty sure we would have seen it. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's the benefit of listening to God and saying, look, I'll do whatever you want me to do. We felt like prayer was the thing. And if God had it on us to walk out there, I mean, as much as I think protesting may not be

effective, the Lord can make effective whatever he wants. If he says, dude, write up a sign, stand out there, I think we would have got that. Well, and if Peter would have said the same sermon five hours earlier, it wouldn't have worked. Right. He had to wait for God to show up. Right. He had to wait for God's timing, his Holy Spirit, his thing. And that's all we're doing. We're praying, God, what do you want to do? And we'll let God be God. Yeah. That's very good. Well, I would agree that it's the same people that prayed in the upper room were the ones that preached. But it doesn't have to be. You're kind of, I would say you're putting God in a box by saying it's got to be the same thing. You know what I'm saying? Like, just my thought, I think it could certainly be both. It's just the general thought, though, that you have to be prayed up, I think. You know, I don't think, God can use anybody. You're absolutely right. And you never put God in a box. But God, more often than not, will use the person who has prayed and fasted. You know, that's… Because it's a spiritual war. Right. It's a spiritual war.

I'm open to what you've got going here. You know, not just a casual tap on the shoulder, but a guy that says, put me in, coach. Because I can be argued into anything, but eventually that will fade because I'm like, well, pretty soon my argument goes back to my own argument. Right. When God reaches me and God touches me, that's a different thing. Yeah. God will use the person that's listening to him. You know, if you're the Pharisee that's out in the corner praying out loud, you know, it's not that God couldn't use that, but God's, you know, it's like a lot of people that say, you know, oh, I love what's going on at this church, this revival that's broke out, or, you know, we just need some of that, or, you know, we need to happen what happened in Acts. We need that to happen in our church again, you know. Well, it's like you said, read what happened in Acts and read what it took to get to that point, you know. They prayed without ceasing. They prayed and waited. Yeah. They met daily. They prayed without ceasing, you know. Yeah. If you want to get to that point, you've got to make that sacrifice, you know. Yeah. All right. Want to fire up some tunes? Yeah, let's do it. Let's fire up some tunes. What do you guys got for us today? In the spirit of worship and the prayer conference here, we've got a couple of, the first one

definitely is an original song. It's never been. This is the first time we've ever done it. First song, first time we've ever done it outside of practice. So you guys will be the first people to hear this, other than the other two members of our band who are absent tonight. But you guys will be the first people to hear this one. This one's based on scripture and Proverbs, and the song is called Come Home. So… Is not wisdom cold? Is not understanding raise her voice? At the height she stands. At the gates she cries aloud The children I'm calling out Come Home is more than a precious stone In fact, I'm standing right outside I'm calling out My coat have to carry that heavy load Which ones are lost in a safe? Come home, you're gripped with fear I've just pulled down Stretched wide as ever the children I like that one. Yeah. That was awesome. I'd almost like a copy of it so I can, we can sing it for worship sometime Those shirts are going to be $58 You can make the check out to Ben Foost They also take a combination of cashews and… I'm sorry, what? Did you just mean to say cashews? Cashews? And you said cashews?

Cashew? Isn't that how it's said? No. What do you mean? Cashew? Yeah. How do you say it? Casuntite. Cashew. It's definitely cashew It's definitely Not cashew I've never, in my entire life, I've never heard someone call it a cashew It's like, you guys ever watch Celebrity of Friends? Yeah. It's like whenever Gary Busey tried to claim he called John Rich caboy Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Are you calling me Gary Busey? Because I think I take offense to that Caboy I'll take a handful of cashews and almonds I'm a caboy, I'd like a cashew Alright, you've embarrassed yourself And your mother if she was watching I'm going to Walmart right after this and getting a thing of cashews And you know what, it'll ring up the same They'll give you the exact product you're looking for They may think you're a little different, but you'll get the same stuff Alright, you've been listening live from the path

Do you guys got another one? Let's go ahead and crank them out You got another one? The masses are demanding more That's awesome So this is another original worship song that we've had for quite some time And this one caught on in our church The chorus is just really simple And when I wrote this song It was just basically me trying to just Not so much just request But just begged God to be lifted high In me and in my life And read the verse of scripture in Isaiah Where he says I saw the Lord seated on the throne High exalted with the train of his robe Filled the temple And above him were seraphs Each with six wings With two wings they covered their faces With two they covered their feet And with two they were flying And they were calling to one another Saying, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty The whole earth is filled with his glory And this song is called Be Lifted High No thorn in my brow

No painful sack No cross on my back You have not bore before What crown of my own before Love that you give Such mercy that I might Lifted high Lifted high Lifted high Lifted high Lifted high Cause on my heels Sound What can I return Nothing The gift can I Price I can pay Lifted Lifted Lifted Lifted Lifted Lifted Lifted Lifted It's Nothing between It's the place Where I'm set

Nothing between It's the place where I'm set free When there's nothing between you and me It's the place where I'm lifted I'm lifted, lifted, lifted I feel like we should have asked Slash to come in and play a guitar solo in the middle Like I could just see him singing that, you know, continue singing that And then Slash comes in and goes Like November Rain Styles Yeah, like, oh man, that song was cool Yeah, you need some kind of mystique rocker that covers the guitar solo Like a guest guy that wears like a Papa Shango hat and sunglasses Or just a wig that you can swap out Yeah, or you can do it cheesy like Ben suggested and get a guy with a wig It's more economical than paying some kind of Papa Shango long hair to come in there And like handle a guitar solo when you're fully capable of doing it your own Yeah, but Papa Shango long hair guitar players are a dime a dozen They're all over the map That's true Especially if he only had to do like one solo He could work on it all year He just comes out, he rocks for 15 seconds and heads up I don't know, like the guitar solo I thought it was pretty demanding Yeah, but he could just rock it for one year though Oh man, it was hip Here's what he's got to do He really has to dig on his own sauce, you know He has to, when he hears it, he just He can't imagine anyone doing it better

So when he rocks out, you can see him going Oh yeah He hates to let He's either the yes I'm rocking or the no I can't stop rocking He hates to let go of the note because he's afraid it will never be that beautiful again That is what you need That was on this rock They are playing here on Live from the Path Broadcasting Live from the Pathway prayer room Thank you so much for joining us, we appreciate you guys We do appreciate you guys hanging out in the chat And there's a good conversation going on in the chat I know you guys can't see all that But just some interesting stuff going on there So a lot of stuff going on I guess real quick before we go You guys got one more, right? If you want us to, yeah, we got one more Alright, yeah, we'll take it Before we go, just a quick reminder You guys, On This Rock is on Facebook You can find them there Keep an eye out for gigs from On This Rock They'll post them out there Absolutely Very, very cool And the upcoming gigs A lot of stuff is out of town But the fair's coming up

And I could just see a group of people In here just worship Into some of this acoustic stuff We could do like a mega A mega Christian band get-together Mega Christian band Like, we'll get We'll get every Christian musician we know And we'll all pile into one room I don't think we have that big of a room I know, that's what would make it awesome Yeah, we'll make it a tight and mega Where would that long-haired Papa Shango guy stand If there's no room Mega and smelly Actually, he'll think he'll be so awesome I'll be in the parking lot rocking by himself And no one will want to invite him in He'll be out there rocking in the handicap space I don't know That's just what I thought of Is it illegal to stand in a handicap space If you're not a handy? I think if you're keeping someone from parking there Yeah Impede the flood traffic Huh Well Guilty

I said, there's an open area I'm just going to go to the mall real quick Lay down in a handicap spot Just see what happens Wait until the police come by and go Am I right? Am I right? Am I right? Am I right? Take me away I didn't park here Okay You better fire it up Yeah, yeah, yeah Let's get fired up So they're going to play And then we're going to take a quick break So we can swap out bands In between the break I'll play you our one year anniversary clip package Scary Only because we do not have any other clips to show you That I can turn on So you're going to have to put up with that Yeah, yeah, enjoy that But let's close it out Thanks to On This Rock Thanks guys for coming in We really appreciate being a part of the prayer room event

Are these worship tunes that you're playing here Are they going to be available on CD somewhere? We hope so, someday Let us know when that happens, will you? Yeah, yeah We'd love to I'd like to play in between services You know, we have two services or whatever on Sunday I think that would be awesome To be able to put that on during the service Absolutely, yeah All right, this is On This Rock What are you carrying us out with? We're going to leave you with my personal favorite song And I think you guys all recognize this when you hear it The story behind this song was this man Literally lost everything that he could possibly lose He lost it all And when he was at the absolute bottom of his life He penned the words to this song And this is, in my opinion My most humble opinion The greatest hymn that was ever written in the history of the church So That's what we'll leave you with Live from the REMAX studios in downtown Des Moines It's 6am and you are live That's a lot of pressure It makes me probably the old guy in the room

I'm sorry, I got three chauvinists looking at me saying What are you doing in the kitchen, Mary? What do you want? I don't go to a movie with whoopie in it I mean Oh, I'm a maggot Bacon, I think And cheese You can buy this mouse for $19.95 And here's a little Jesus Cerebral because I like to put my favorite things on my boxers So, hey, you guys Where is American Samoa? I don't have much of a back hair problem But, I mean, if I did I wouldn't want to have to ask my lady to take care of me And it says I'm overly acidic You seem to both have possum type characteristics That I can be all knowing Can we say butt? That's why I go speedo Very nice, very nice The origami undies You're way too intellectually invested in your underwear I wore a hole in my pants Right I mean, my boxers were shown when I left at 4 in the morning Your grandma's friend is really Ben Vereen It's like holding a very warm dead fish

Oh, this will save me time later I won't have to re-watch the show It's a long delay You know cars can't function on wall peanut butter Does that help? It's very adult, Daniel We tried to pick him up But he stopped to pee in the bushes And we couldn't wait You spent your holiday season hawking pagan Christmas wares I'm not in a chicken Just saying branch out a little bit That's all I'm saying What? This has got to be the most interesting Uninteresting three minutes of radio I've ever heard Men do not smoke Virginia slums There you go Do lies jump from one head to another? You can't convince your mind to allow yourself to pee your own pants Like it's out Chicken, chicken, chicken Olsen, Keith Olsen, chicken, chicken, chicken I got this cat skeleton to me I'm full I'm hungry I think I'll have that again You're listening to Life from the Past My observation in life is the whiniest people on earth tend to be Christians

Okay, first of all, you're not funny So don't even worry about it No, I thought it was great I don't need your approval, Daniel Slowjack Hey Slowjack Look at that Slowjack Find me a Slowjack Come on, man In either case I'm growing my mustache in here until the world understands me for who I am Not just a cool guy in a sauna But a well-educated man who gets all his information from Live from the Past There is a half-naked bust mannequin woman in the church office He's afraid someone to steal it Along with a plastic BB handgun And I say, what goes on in here? It's like that time you claimed that you created the peanut butter that rolls up like a deodorant I've said too much He gets hot and burns me Where's them shady internet characters? That's who I want Giving my kid a pucker on the head I've always been just freaky Looks like the back alley, you know, used donkey dealer Who left my underwear outside in the rain? What's next? A bag full of aphids that eat your face?

Christians don't have gas, that's the deal Do not ever buy deodorant in an airport Next time I find a naked dude out rolling around in my rock garden I'm going to come looking for you and say, you caused this What's I've got to do with it? Big sir, the best waterbeds, that's for sure Big sir Waterbeds Funk kind of did that on that smelly politician question Yeah, that's true I've worn a dress Oh yeah I fell asleep at the wheel We had like a gang of feral cats What's a doobie? Hey, you know what? You're fat Donkey ribcage, 30 bucks Where'd you get that? There it's coming Okay, anyway, you're listening to Silk Sheets and Rainbows My name's Ben I call it the street Jesus Now, hold on, hold on I'm not past this yet, Cassie, I'm sorry You don't like any sandwiches? I've ever written to Abby and said Mike and Ben, they make fun of my shirt every single week They say I look like a couch

What should I do? Hey Ben, the van's gonna stink I could have said it was Big Jacker If I'd have known him face to face That he was my father This has been Life in the Path Daniel, what did I tell you about that? We'll see you Go out of the party Next week Have a wonderful week It's jazzy I'm trying to put a little culture in here It sounds like rain This song is way awesome It's funky It's like That's more like a Yeah, that's kind of like a chicken thing Dan I would go for You're in He's actually got it pretty good You see that move that they do Where like one cruise I speak Portuguese Hey, hey, no King de Guado Disaster

Dan started Alright, ready? One From his hiding place Jack gets Dan's breathing heavy Jack is hiding That head thing was classic And Jack rushed out And grabbed the hen That's realistic And then Jack took a grab What do you think An accosted head sounds like? Excuse me for living Unhidden Come on You're listening to Live from the Path Broadcasting live from the Pathway Prayer Room Hey, thanks so much For hanging on through the break And being with us tonight It's a pretty exciting deal And I'm glad to have everybody out You guys participate in the chat Being in the conversation And hanging out for some cool music

You can sign up for the newsletter The podcast And see past performances From the bands that we've had in All by going to Livefromthepath.org If you haven't If you have subscribed to the podcast You probably lost everything But the last three weeks Yeah We switched podcast hosting So we lost Come on, man We lost the back ones I'm the only guy that rules the podcast I download it every month It's weird So I can keep an eye on the podcast numbers I can look at them And it's weird It depends on what day you look But either it's like 20s Or 6 It's like So either It's like there's some indecisive people That like

Dude, I really love these guys Like, oh, that was a mistake Like, we're the drunken podcast The thing that you do And that you always regret having done And then you do it again the next week And you're like I really gotta give this up Why exactly was I listening to this? I don't know what I was thinking We're in a real pickle here So, you know You know, latch on Hang out for it It's quality It'll grow on you It's quality stuff It's like a disease You just gotta get used to it What? What? You know This rickets gets better As the days tick I could go on a hat It's gonna have to be a big hat You're right Here's what I'm gonna say If Clint had said it

I think it would have passed the muster There you go He could have sold it through You on the other end All right You're listening to Life in the Path Saved on Sunday Is back in the studio with us It's good to see you guys again It's good to be back You guys are looking Not a smidge older From when we saw you last time What do you mean? We're gonna let a breeze in? Yeah It's pretty stuffy in here What's wrong with you guys? That's why we can't keep people on a podcast You know what I'm saying? Everything's gotta be about the wind Of course if you wouldn't set it up So that's cool All right All right Well so I'm glad to see you guys back in here You guys have been ultra supportive Of our prayer events And we really do appreciate it

It's been cool to kind of share it with you guys And have you come in Mr. Brown over here took a two hour slot And it's weird to jump head foot into it For two hours But he took a two hour slot The 10 to midnight on Saturday I think it was Yeah How did that go for you? That was pretty awesome You know Got here And I was really impressed with I thought it was just gonna be like a little room You know And maybe this back room Kind of papered off I was like wow This is like The entire like Half of the building And different rooms And the Holy of Holies was sweet The I guess missions oriented room Was pretty awesome And I don't know I really enjoyed it And had a lot of time to reflect

And man I felt like a thousand times lighter Whenever I got out of here Yeah It's tough to stay out of that Holy of Holies I'm telling you Once it grabs onto you I mean Don't get any grandiose idea What this Holy of Holies looks like It's a curtain It's a curtain that walls you in So there's two It's a corner of a room And there's like A curtain and a curtain And so you're basically Four walled in Into the Holy of Holies Curtains that we stole out of a theater Yeah yeah There was a theater going out of business And so Well yeah We showed up and took the curtains We were invited The owner was there Yeah he said it was alright But we figured Well we want to see these curtains go away

So we took them And so anyway We need this for the Holy of Holies But It's really cool Because it's just a chair And a Bible And a table And a lamp And that's all that's in there And you're like You know I can do this at my house Or whatever It ain't the same There's something I mean because Everywhere else in the prayer room There's stuff going on There's lighting And there's people Written their prayer requests All over the place And you know You can get some real Connections with people And what God's doing In everybody else's life Or whatever But man when you get

That Holy of Holies It's just you and Him You know And man there's just Something about it Where it's like Okay this is This is the kind of prayer I need You know undistracted Let's do this thing Every time I go in there It's something I mean I It's kind of funny This last Sunday You know we were talking About I don't know Whatever And worship came up And I said I'm a fairly unemotional That sounds wrong I don't display my emotions Much in worship Right you're not Hands in the air I don't like it I like I love being

In the atmosphere And I love being When people But for whatever reason And I'm kind of like Yeah Yeah dig it And for any of them I'm just Oh man I'm just With my shoulder But when I'm here I'm like Okay I'm glad I don't look At Dan when I'm trying To get my worship on The Christian boom Is not for me But since Sunday I have wept twice And both of them Were in the Holy of Holies things And one of them Was I was reading In Revelation Where Jesus

Is coming back On a white horse And just the Destruction that happens To mankind And I'm thinking In the context Of the Atheist convention And their spew Of hatred toward us And I'm like They so They just don't get What we're trying to do You know And I understand They get what we're Trying to do And that's what They're offended I guess But I'm like But if you don't get him It's not going to end well You know And it just hit me in there And I'm just like You know I'm always like Man why don't I

Weep for the loss And then I'm going I gotta get out Of this room Help me Turn into a pantheon I'm stuck in the Holy of Holies I've been like this It didn't work Oh Blessed be your name And the other one was Twice this week The other one was I'm just reading The resurrection narratives You know Because Easter's coming But I'm going to Just read them all You know And it just hit me It's like Man To have Jesus Like in the tomb And falling down And it just hit me

Just like That would have been Just wild It was like I get to do that someday Yeah I don't know Just You know And someone actually Wrote on the program With that I thought was pretty cool They said The stone wasn't Rolled away So Jesus could get out It was rolled away So you could see That he was not there anymore Exactly And so I thought That was pretty cool Man Simple little things Like that I think are awesome My sister is in the Navy And she's really fortunate

She's been involved With all the Libyan stuff She's actually on the ship That fired all the tomahawks Onto the country But anyway They took them back And she's in Israel And she gets to spend Passion week This week in Jerusalem Oh cool And she's actually Getting to go To the tomb And all that stuff Pretty jealous I love to do that I saw a video Of when like There was a couple people That were doing tours But like Mark Driscoll Was doing a tour down there And I thought Man I'd like to go on a tour With somebody That kind of knows

What's going on And kind of Show me around I think that'd be That'd be really cool Yeah Yeah Yeah you'd run a tour Yeah I mean a real Yeah I'd be like There's a rock That's probably one That would have cried out You keep guessing Where stuff happened I bet that's where it happened Oh no no It's Gethsemane No that's probably not You know My geography is Absolutely terrible Like it always has been And like This happens to me Every Christmas Easter They read a passage

Where it's like Jesus of Nazareth Of Galilee Of somewhere I'm like Is he from three towns? Like I can't keep I can't keep the thing straight And I don't know Where people are at And he said Well he went up to here And up to here I'm like I don't know where he's going I'm not following around He sure gets around I gotta have somebody Walk me through stuff I read I was reading An exodus on Mark And there was a guy Talking about You know The symbolic nature Of Jesus going from He would go to

Like a Like a Jewish town And like a non-Jewish town And a Jewish town And non-Jewish Like crossing back over And ministering to both And I'm like I don't know my geography I never would have Picked that up Without this guy Like telling me that I gotta pay more attention Man I almost Read a map last Sunday You would have been impressed I would have I would have done I had it ready That actually would have been nice Because actually When I read Especially when I read The Old Testament Like I just insert names Of cities that I know And imagine it's that far away Mason City

So I'll be like So Moses and the people Traveled from Cincinnati To Houston Boy that's a long way Because otherwise I get caught up In the city names And I'm like I'm missing the whole story Because I'm thinking What a stupid name For a city I just I can't name that Actually So I just give them American city names And get past it Actually this is Not bible related But my wife and I Were talking today She got a book From the library And I opened it up And it's kind of Just scanning through And it's based

In the 16th century And so like There's all these Sirs and kings And long names And I give up on books If I can't keep track Of names correctly I read Anna Karenina It's like it's a Russian It's a Tolstoy novel Right I started I got 100 pages in And I can't finish it Because they're all Russians And they all had These really long names And I couldn't I couldn't keep people together So I can't read Russian novels What does that do for you? That's a bummer If this makes you feel better I don't read Russian novels So It's a novel Yeah

There goes your Christmas present I changed Sodom and Gomorrah To Ohio So I Both of them? Yeah both of them It's just their same town It's one big It's one big party town Don't go to Ohio God destroyed Ohio Oh man These plane tickets Better be refundable Oh man I don't know Yeah you better do it Yeah alright Well so I don't know Anything else I don't want to put you On the spot or anything But anything else Anything else On the prayer room thing That you want to share? I thought it was awesome The thing The thing I thought

Was cool Was The thing I thought Was cool Was You'd be walking along Like reading the things On the wall And you'd walk past Several of them And then for whatever reason One would just Grab my attention Yeah It's like I don't know this person I don't know who They're talking about But you just felt Drawn to pray for them And you know God knows You know Who it is What they're talking about And It's just amazing to me How much of a connection You can feel to someone

Maybe you know them Maybe you don't But from what you're reading You don't know who it is Right I was just Struck by that I thought it was really cool Because that happened Multiple times Yeah You'll find that There's a lot of Different experiences That you can have With some of that Sometimes I'll be walking by And you'll find someone That totally nails How you're feeling And that you Couldn't put into those words And couldn't express In a way That they have And you're like Yeah That's right on I didn't even know

Where to start Praying for myself But I can pray for this guy And now They've put in towards Exactly how I'm feeling And that's a real That's a real cool deal And one of the things Dan and I were talking about Before the show started Is sometimes Getting a picture Of what other people Are dealing with You know Some people are struggling With things That don't exist In my world Things like loneliness I'm a happily married guy I got a couple kids I just don't have that In my life And sometimes you forget The things that other people Are struggling with And you know

That their life Doesn't look like your life And their circumstances Good or bad Don't necessarily look like Your circumstances And sometimes it's helpful Just to listen to people Talk about their lives And so like When you look at them You can kind of see that A little bit And it starts to Color things a little bit differently You can get more depth To them More depth to your prayers For them As opposed to You know Hey man I hope that guy's doing okay You know I hope he's I hope he's feeling loved on How about that Like I can do that And so

You know There's a lot of stuff You can get Simply for the experience Of having seen What other people Are dealing with The great things That are going on The things that They're struggling with The sin that They're struggling with Intense pain From the past Yeah You're like Oh man You know That's the thing About that prayer room And I think That does Actually bring up A really solid point Like realities That I would never face You know That people have

Some experiences In their childhood That are just I mean They're just terrible I mean They're just terrible You know And you read it And you're like Man I don't even know Where to begin And it's a good thing I know God Because I can't help you You know I have nothing to say here I mean That just sounds awful And so You know I see stuff On the prayer wall Like that And I'm like Man This is the This is the

This is the meat of it You know This is where I get Where You know My relationship With God Is like Yes Good I'm glad I have someone To pass this on to Because I don't know I couldn't help you Even if you walked with me You know Face to face And said this I'd go We better pray on this thing Because I don't know What to say You know And so I get that a lot In the prayer room too I'll just read

Circumstance And I'll go Man You know I thank God Immediately for the life That I have And then I think You know I don't even know How to deal with this pain Lord But I pray that you do You know And so I think that's pretty heavy I like that And then There in the There's this room Over here With like the maps And everything And you kind of Put your little sticker On the map of Des Moines And that was really cool And I kind of Turned the lights off In that room

And Dan was showing me Around the place Whenever I came on On Saturday And he's like I don't know why Mike threw that light in here It was just like This random thing That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen Yeah Dang it No one likes it So But But I was sitting there And it was I turn the lights off Which is what I do And Which I think Like most people do I don't know why But Some people like them on But I like them off I come in here Every two hours

And turn that Flashing red light Back on That's off I've never seen it Oh I don't know I would just say I'd make that up So So you're in there And obviously So The only focal point Is this beacon light Just going on over and over And so I'm sitting there Praying And Looking over Praying Looking over You know It's very present And The Lord says Go over there And take a look at that And so I walk over the light

He goes I want you to Study it here for a second Look how it works And So I'm looking there And Studying how it works And he goes Okay Now what works Is you know There's a light in the middle And then There's a There's a cupped Mirror That just revolves Around the light And it throws the light All the way around He goes I'm your light He says And then You need to be this mirror He says You don't produce Your own light

He says But as you revolve Around me And My ways And continue to Live your life Through me You cast my light And he says In this dark world In this dark room Right now What's the center point What's attracting Your attention What keeps Making you look over In this corner He says That light And he says So people in the darkness If you revolve around me You'd be casting my light And I was like Wow That's a really cool You know

Thing Just to get out of A beacon light In the corner That Mike just decided To throw up Yeah And This was funny Because then Then I go over here Into the You know The Holy of Holies Into the room And The Bible's there And Holy Spirit Says First John Says Okay First John So I go to First John And it says Right here

Right in chapter 1 It says This is the message We have heard from him And declare to you God is light In him there is no Darkness at all If we claim to have Fellowship with him Yet walk in darkness We lie And do not live by the truth But if we walk in the light As he is in the light We have fellowship With one another And the blood of Jesus His son Purifies us from every sin So I thought That was really cool Yeah Man I went right from that And right to I don't know That's all That's no fair Because you get like

Cool things in The Holy of Holies And God just beats me I'm not going back You're an idiot He has an awesome Anecdotal story With perfect Tie-ins to the Bible And scripture Dad's in there Crying like a girl It's a big horse God A big horse If it makes you He's got a sword If it makes you feel better He said he yawned Right after that And he had one of those Kind of tears Right on his cheek He spilled some water On his face On accident Oh that was everybody That's a cool story Yeah

Yeah you like that Too much don't ya I found that thing In the basement It was filthy I cleaned it up God can use anything I guess That's right Yeah You should have seen The conversation that led To me trying to put That thing in there You're not putting That light in there Stupid I hope that was a lady Just some random woman I'm not gonna name names It might have just been me Dang it You are listening to Life in the Path We are in studio Saved on Sunday And so I tell you what Let's get to some tunes What do you guys got

For us tonight Well As coming out of Out of prayer And kind of coming up To our ministry night This Friday We just kind of wanted To play a worship song And this is kind of One of our personal favorites We play it We've started to play it Quite often And it's called Rescue And the mind Can I There's no Which I am Capture me I will follow Of life I can't be locked Behind No one else will do Need you Jesus Can I

Which I am safe Capture me I will follow This world There's nothing I will follow Nothing I will follow Awesome Saved on Sunday Yeah boy that's one of my favorites I do love that one Me too Yeah It's a beautiful song It is It is Mike how do you feel I tried to sing it I tried to sing it And then Ben turned my microphone down So it wouldn't accidentally Beed it to the tune Boy I really So the On This Rock was in here And he was doing It is Well Which I really love

But I've got the singing voice Of a dying badger And unfortunately That song is also Way too high for me I've got the vocal range Of the dead badger Like the guy who's Actually passed on There's a six note Rage in there You don't even get A full scale I can't even go From one to the other My voice cracks At the seven I can almost do Oh when the saints Go marching in Almost I can do Mama little baby Got shortening Shortening Mama little baby Got shortening Bread That's it

I can't even get The bread It's a little sharp Anyway So I really want To sing to that one But they're trying To put on a decent Performance And I didn't want To color it incorrectly I totally understand It was recorded What? Hey so what do you say You got a worship night Coming up Friday? Yes I'm excited about that Our first one God really blessed it First time we ever Did it And we had it At our church Eagle Vision Church Down on the south side On just off the bypass On 9th Street

But we had it there And we had it With Syndrome of Fire And we had it With Piercing Darkness Both bands Good friends of ours And first time ever Man it was packed Man And it was really great And eight people Came to know God That night Which was awesome Awesome And so we're really Looking forward To this next night You kind of do things And you learn And this time It's going to be better This time We're going to have Some more people there It's going to be At Glad's Hidings Assembly On the south side

I forget I think it's like 3120 East Army Post Road It's across from the From the YMCA From the Y yeah Yeah By Fort Des Moines On Army Post But it's going to be there It's going to be Saved on Sunday By it's right name I don't know if you guys Have met them Those guys Oh yeah Really good friends We haven't seen them Since the tomb Closed downtown But by it's right name And Dark Horse Is going to be there As well These guys And we're very excited And God's going to do Some great things

Yeah We know no better way To celebrate Passion Week Than to do what We're passionate about And get out And get some souls saved So it's really cool Because each band Gets to do Four worship Praise and worship songs Along with their Original stuff And I didn't know How that was going To work out You know Kind of mixing Praise and worship And original material But man it went great Yeah And like Just the Holy Spirit You just felt His presence there Even you know Whenever somebody's

Just rocking on a On a sweet solo To an original song He was just there And whenever I went up And gave the word I didn't have to talk You know 10-15 minutes And the people were there And they were hungry And they rushed up the altar Wanted to accept Christ And many more came And rededicated It was so awesome That's cool So we're very excited For this Friday So At what time Do you say that fires up? That's going to be At 7 o'clock It goes from 7 to 10 Saved on Sunday We'll be first And then it'll be

By its right name And then I'll speak And we'll have a Free will offering At that time And then Dark Horse Will be closed Is there going to be Food there? Yeah There will be Concessions there Yeah That's cool Yeah Wait a minute So are you setting The tent up Inside the building? Our first tent Thing is going to be In May Oh We have one band Lined up for that Aside from us And we're looking For a third

Oh that's cool Yeah It's a broken point of view I don't know If you guys have Met those guys They're down From southern Iowa They're really good guys No So they're going To be with us Well we'll talk to them Yeah Yeah I'll get you Their information Yeah Broken point of view Yeah We'll bring them in Yeah Yeah we'll bring them in Absolutely Yeah I tried to hear So one of the regrets I have is I meant To try to catch The streaming

Of your last event How did that go? I made it home Right after it The streaming? Yeah How did it go? Yeah Well we got I mean I wish we had I don't know What you guys Used to stream But ours doesn't Allow a chat So we really Kind of depend On people Shooting a message On Facebook Or even Hey we were watching But we need To get that worked on So we know How many viewers And like a chat thing Yeah we'll talk

We'll talk I'll tell you But we got Some Facebook stuff Some people are watching A lot of the members From Pierce in the Darkness Families were watching Because they're from Southern Iowa Cool And my sister said She was watching And she's in Europe You know So that was pretty cool Yeah Yeah That's way cool Yeah We get some play in Europe No I checked I checked the stats today We don't Look at that Saved on Sunday Is in South America And Europe Here we go

We're barely getting Outside of our 12 mile broadcast range See we don't We don't See some people Take the tech They take right They take what they have And they spread it out We bring people in We like to bring people here There you go And that's how we gain people To watch the show We say Well you're going to be on the show You should probably watch Actually That is the whole premise Of the show Is to To get three dudes in the room With no Dissertable talent And to find other people That do have talent And try to draw Their people into us

We've invited the Million Man March To come by this year I'm really excited Things are going to Looking up Until they figure out Only one guy can come in Parking is going to be A real hassle But they can They can find The event If you want More details on the event You can go Just look Saved on Sunday Up on Facebook You should type Saved on Sunday Be our friend But on our On our wall there You'll see the events I think it's It's called Rock and Worship Night And there's a flyer

There Just click into there Click attending So we know you're coming And stuff So we're excited There's a three dollar Cover fee by the way Just so that's out there Three bucks Yeah Three bucks Three hours Three bands Well okay That's out Now when you put it that way It sounds good If you're just saying Three bucks You're not even setting up the tent though Yeah How much do you pay for a movie For two hours He sneaks in Yeah And steals the curtains It's a net gain I don't call it so much

A business transaction Actually I got harassed Three bucks Who was in here And we were harassing For the charge of their event Rescue They sang It wasn't that one Rescue It was their own rescue The guys from Eyes Wide Eyes Wide Open Eyes Wide Open Eyes Wide Open Yeah And they were charging Like a measly two dollars To get in their event I think we gave them A really hard time So when you said three I'm obligated to To make a big huff about it Three seems pretty reasonable Those dudes have been Playing around Haven't they recently

I saw a couple shows Booked up for those folks Yeah Playing their names and whatever See that's what I'm saying You find the people That are doing good stuff And you try to stand next to them Yeah While good stuff is happening I've never seen those guys I mean So I'm excited to Get to know them I've been hearing good things I bet they'd be geared up For the tent show Yeah Because I'm I'm in like Trying to find You know We want to do it We're doing our Rock and worship nights Monthly But we want to get it Bi-monthly And eventually

We hope there's enough demand Or like every week You know But it's hard to do With the rotations Of bands that we know Yeah Trying to find more bands And stuff So I want to get To know these guys I found a new band From Des Moines They're a Christian rock band Called Hevel On Reverb Nation The other day Yeah And I had a hold of them Because they found us On Craigslist I put an ad up I'm like We need some Christian bands So Cool So yeah I was excited to find some guys That would seem pretty cool

What's that Did they know a handshake Or whatever Did you handshake them I haven't met them In person yet Oh Yeah Here's what I'm going to say About Hevel I contacted them twice On the Reverb Nation And they did not respond They saw the show And said Nope Not doing it Another category of guys That I can't call suckers Yeah Actually that was my first thought I thought Well they're discerning I like a guy That keeps a good eye out And then I think Ah they'll come around Yeah They'll get bored

And have nothing going on someday And they'll say You know what Fine I guess we'll go And then we'll have them Somehow we brainwash these fellas A talented group of guys Still comes in here I love it You've listened to Live from the Path Saved on Sunday Has graciously agreed To come back in the studio They spent some time In the prayer room And covered one of the slots there And is in Performing some tunes And talking with us Definitely check them out On Facebook Put that event On your calendar It sounds like a solid event Yeah Good things happen At the first one

Is going to be good On the second one Yeah three bucks Is nothing Get on board It's nothing Keep the thing up And rolling Get some expenses It's well worth Take the lady out Put a tux on Take the lady out Tux I like that You're going to make A night of it Quit You know any pansies Wearing this Roughed up stuff You look nice for your woman You go out Anyone that comes in a tux Will get a free CD That's cool Yeah Yeah you know what If you walk into a room

And you go I'm overdressed There's something wrong with you Like you should walk in a room And go Everyone else is underdressed Yeah This is what's happening I don't own a tux though I don't either It's the right one This thing's costing a lot of money Three bucks plus rental Just buy the CD I'll just pay full price For the CD I just saw you guys Got a new logo too right Yes we did I like the looks of that It's sharp looking Yeah and it's really cool We're getting I hired my cousins A webmaster And he's working on our website And we got to see a screenshot Of our homepage Of our website

It will be launching In about six weeks And it's integrated With that logo It's really professional man It makes you look like A million bucks So we're excited about that too So be looking forward to that Just saved on sunday.com Coming up in about six weeks On you Do you guys have t-shirts That available Yeah Okay Yeah definitely T-shirts CDs Armbands Wristbands Photos That we got a photo shoot Just done with Oh yeah Where did you guys Do the photo shoot at We did it downtown And it was pouring rain

That day And so we got We got a lot of A lot of fun Yeah so It actually made for Some cool photos At first we were like Oh it's raining We can't do a photo shoot And I were like Oh it's raining Let's do a photo shoot So it was really cool Amanda Moe Did our pictures You can check her out On Facebook She's got Amanda Moe Photography up there She did a great job So Cool Yeah Cool Well you guys want to Fire up another one You bet You bet

This song Has never been done Acoustic before And it's our song Called Do You Know Him And it's kind of A jam for us It's one of the songs We can end a set with Because we just always Fly around with solos Rock out and stuff Let's try that acoustic there So the song's called Do You Know Him It's on our Revolution album One Two Three Four Two If I come here He's my My All you gotta do Is ask here Right now Take your sins all away Go ahead Sean

Praise him on the guitar That smokes acoustically It does It does I agree Yeah We're like Wow Let's play a jam song I'd like that tune to be played When I walk out of the house In the morning That's hip I want to get in my minivan To that kind of hip tune That way I can think I'm a little cooler than I am Somebody carried in my green rocket It says rocket like Plymouth Did you get that side mirror put on? Yeah I did actually Is your side mirror going too? It was for a while I knocked mine off On a snow shovel Oh man I actually made a mistake Because I was really excited

About this minivan Because I've only had cars You know And I'm like Man I can store all kinds of crap In this minivan It's gonna be great So they're giving away Laminate flooring And we're like Well we could use some New flooring at the ministry center We'll build ourselves a stage out here So you guys can play out there And like I'll pick it up So I stack my van Full of this flooring And I just so happen To have a prayer room slot At like 1 o'clock And I got a meeting That got done at the church at 10 So I'm like Well 3 hours I don't drive all the way back home That's like 45 minutes there I'll just sleep in a van So I go in there

And I'm like I have a big van to sleep in What's covered with flooring Everywhere Stacked high So I weasel myself up On this flooring And I'm sleeping like On top of a 3 foot stack Of laminate flooring In my van And all I could think of Was a stupid van Like if I didn't have a van I wouldn't have done this I thought what a mistake And it was freezing in there Anyway Don't buy a van Yeah that's it Alright I can't walk out Here's the deal You can't walk out to a Kia A Kia Optima With that type of tune playing on It doesn't fit You know I used to have My alarm clock set to the

Overture The Overture At the Jesus Christ Superstar You know so we go I thought yes What a way to wake up And then I could never Get it right And it always played Like the Apostle tune You ever listen to Jesus Christ Superstar The second disc Of the London recording Of Jesus Christ Superstar Is hit and miss Yeah it really takes a tanker And it was not near It wasn't great It wasn't great The Apostles were big You know according to this story It was like a It was a terrible You know rendition Of the Lord's story But the Apostles Were big Nancys Is how they portrayed them

And so I'd wake up To the Apostles being Nancys Well I think some of them Were Nancys Well some of them Were Nancys Not all of them A lot of them Were Nancys As a matter of fact Some of them Prior to the crucifixion I would contend That a lot of them Were very Nancy-ish Andrew Peter Oh I don't know Peter James and John Would rain down fire On a village Yeah but I mean Think of what Peter did He follows The Lord starts To get taken away He follows at a distance And you know

Like oh I'm concerned Except for I'm gonna Hang way back And then he gets Stopped by a servant girl Likely a very young Servant girl And it's enough For him to deny Christ That he just saw Yeah I'm just saying Well okay You got me there He approved He got better Hey man Peter's gonna be Real mad when you meet him Yeah You're not coming in Yeah I heard what you said Here's what I'll say Is I will contend That we were saved By the same grace And then I'll shove him

What do you think About that Pete He said you didn't Get here on your own Accord either And there went The Catholic viewers Yeah exactly This show is not for me Nobody shows the rock That wasn't right I'm sorry You didn't get here On your own accord either I love it Will What a disaster Tearing down the Pope Some things we shouldn't air You know That's why we're on late You're listening to Live From the Path That's why the podcast Goes down This is why I was good to tell the money You know everything Was sounding right

And then they're shoving Peter That's what I got out of it Is that gonna make it On the monthly show You know I don't know I'm not sure anybody Listens to that Monthly broadcast Ben goes for broke On that monthly show He finds the most Offensive stuff That we talked about And puts it in an hour And then posts it Trying to get some Kind of rise Out of the radio station It tells you no one Listens to it though Yeah It's the truth We should've gotten A rise by now I don't remember What we were talking About on that last one

I mean It was only half Quality material Yeah there was a segment On tracking your own Poo with a With a computer The online tracker Yeah And so we talked About it for like 45 minutes You know Ben's like Well that'll be perfect For the AM 940 show Right between him time Right Here's the deal That poo tracker thing Is funny It is pretty funny If you're If you're 7 Let's just say If you're over 85 It might not be funny Peter's up in him Going

Not funny Seriously lord You're going to let These guys go Calm down Peter Alright Listen to Live from the Path Thanks for listening To us tonight We're in studio We're saved on Sunday Again mark your calendars For this coming Friday At the Glad Tidings It's on 14th Across from the Y And Caddy Corner To the Wait it's not Caddy Corner Also across from the Fort Des Moines Church of Christ And what's on the other side The Gunn Pond It's down a little ways From there What's on the other side of it The other side of it Is a Car wash

I think it's a car wash Hey but there's a Hardee's That's open down there So after you get down At the show Hardee's Thick Burger You can head down To the Hardee's Those chicken tenders Are good Yes they are They're excellent Yeah They're going over To rave reviews Just from what you said I regret that I don't live nearer To a Hardee's So I can get some more I'm not trying them Really No They're really good I tried Now here's We were driving back From I don't know Somewhere

Missouri or something And we passed The Hardee's And I got them I mean they were Fresh out of the fryer Or whatever And they were excellent I almost went back And got some more Knowing that I wouldn't Be that close To a Hardee's again Anyway They're very good They also They switch to They also do a wrap They do a chicken tenders In a wrap And that looks also delicious Which can be easily enjoyed When listening to Saved on Sunday Piercing the Darkness And By its right name Are you allowed to bring In your own food? And it's going to be A really cool thing And we're playing For two hours that night So we've been working a lot Because these guys Are fairly new To the group And two hours of playing Is a lot of playing So Yeah We've been hammering It's really been awesome How fast we've been able To go through material And so that's that And then in May We're going to be doing Another ministry night We'll be under the tent Awesome So And I'm going to go And oh June This was so awesome I got a call

In the middle of a Church service Foreign number I was like I don't know who this is And I listened to the message later Hey this is Travis McDaniel From Earlham Church of Christ I want to give you guys a call I was like Oh sweet Earlham Church of Christ Is calling And you know They have all these Headliners and stuff They're like Yeah we got a little band We want you guys to open up for Here at the end of June Disciple You heard of them I was like Yes So They're like So do you guys want the gig? I was like Yes Yes We're almost there You know what They're going to like us We're going to be friends It's almost a guarantee Right If we could just meet them They would be like Yeah you guys are cool I think that about Every celebrity If they'd only meet me I was going to be A seat filler At the Oscars Figuring That's my ticket If I could just sit Next to Tom Hanks For like five minutes We could certainly Become buds And I could I could change him Of his Scientology ways Maybe not

Tom Hanks is a Scientologist Oh yeah I thought that was Tom Cruise That's both of them Oh really Yeah John Travolta You don't read The celebrity rags No Listen you can't just Be an Oscar seat filler And know nothing Of these people I can't have I can't have Steven Spielberg Sit next to me And go Whoa man Tom Hanks is coming back Yeah Scoot over I know nothing of you So do you go up to him And go nano nano I tried that stuff before But it gets you kicked Out of the Oscars
