Segments

  • Home-run prayers 0:00–2:36
A host opens the episode with a hard question about whether athletes should pray for personal success: if a welder or lawn-mower worker prays to be the best for God's glory, should a baseball player pray to hit a home run for God? The hosts debate whether God 'gives a rip' about who wins, and whether public God-thanking after wins moves any nonbeliever. The chat raises whether onlookers actually find such credit-giving credible.
  • Does God care about the small stuff? 2:36–6:45
Framing Dan's welder example, a host asks the broader question: is God involved on a granular, day-to-day level, or does he let things spin? They discuss Josh Hamilton telling the press 'the Lord told me' he would hit a home run in the 10th inning, and whether people project their own intuition onto God in a 'stoic voice.' The discussion lands on: God can do whatever he wants, including small things.
  • Discerning God's voice from your own intuition 6:45–8:50
The hosts wrestle with how to tell when a thought is God speaking versus one's own conscience reflecting the Spirit after constant prayer. Peter's 'I feel like God wants me to jump out of this boat' and the Deuteronomy test for a false prophet are invoked: you only know a prophet is false after his word fails. One host argues inconsistency with Scripture is the earlier tell.
  • Granular providence: Elijah's widow and feeding the 5,000 8:50–11:49
A host cites Elijah and the widow with the cakes as a genuinely granular example: God met her daily needs without changing her status in life. Another host offers Jesus feeding the 5,000, reframed as one small need — a meal — met 5,000 times. They close with a sung riff: 'God can be in the big stuff, he can be in the small stuff.'
  • Small vs God-sized work; pray and move 11:49–19:29
A host turns the granularity question inward: is it dangerous to justify small, seemingly unfruitful work — like their own modest-audience show — by saying 'we're just reaching the one'? The answer they settle on is continual asking and seeking, because God measures differently; one host cites how Pathway Church was set up through prayer rather than loud-voice voting. Biblical 'move and check' examples follow (Israel stopping to ask God, Joshua's defeat at Ai, Saul refusing to wait for Samuel), ending with the motto 'pray and move.'
  • Halloween talk: costumes, candy, and Courageous 19:29–23:14
Halloween debrief: Pants's mom handed out candy, one host saw the movie Courageous as a Halloween tradition, and another dressed as a Viking warrior (with a toga) to go trick-or-treating with Ann's family. Courageous is reviewed as the best Kendrick brothers film yet — '97% realistic, 3% cheese' — and they note the recurring cast overlap with Facing the Giants.
  • Knock-knock jokes 23:14–24:52
A comedy bit: a host performs three self-written knock-knock jokes — Abraham Lincoln, Kung-fu with a 'chopper jam' action, and Cash — with the other hosts rating them. The interrupting-cow joke closes the bit before the show returns to Halloween evangelism.
  • The American Tract Society's Halloween tracts 24:52–34:24
A host reads aloud a news article about the American Tract Society's Halloween outreach: millions of gospel tracts (Peekaboo Jesus Loves You, Light Up the Night, Costumes Are Cool But Heaven Is Awesome, Sweet Treat) dropped in kids' candy bags, plus the ministry's history since 1825. The article quotes Reverend Rick Warren urging Halloween evangelism and ends asking whether pitching faith to strangers' children is appropriate.
  • Tracts are for cowards: lazy evangelism 34:24–38:55
The hosts savage tract evangelism as lazy, cowardly, unloving religion — a passive dodge instead of building a relationship at the door. Dan delivers a sarcastic riff imagining Jesus handing out tracts at the well, in the temple, to the thief on the cross, and Peter distributing them at Pentecost. They read the actual ATS tract titles, note the $250 price, recount a father's million-dollar-bill habit, and conclude tracts betray 'lazy, cowardice, unloving' religion.
  • 24/7 prayer room update: the throne room 38:55–47:12
Broadcasting from their prayer-room location, the hosts report the 24/7 prayer room lapsed Saturday overnight and is now simply open, not 24/7. They reflect on the 'throne room' installation — a chair on a table with movie-theater curtains meant to evoke God's throne — plus the dramatic audio-Bible voices, the cross, and last year's Holy of Holies room. Their consensus: 'what you put into it is what you get out of it'; one host describes praying with his family on the floor and picturing the real throne they will one day see.
  • Penn Jillette's atheist Ten Commandments 47:12–59:04
A host reads atheist magician Penn Jillette's book God, No! and the ten 'commandments' Glenn Beck challenged him to write: highest ideals are human intelligence, creativity, and love; don't put things or ideas above human beings; say what you mean; rest and think; be there for family; respect and protect all human life; keep promises; don't steal; don't lie; don't waste time envying. The hosts' first take: if human intelligence, creativity, and love are the ideals held 'above all,' society is in trouble.
  • Reacting to the commandments: bug nutty 59:05–1:05:49
The hosts work through commandments two through ten: 'don't put ideas above human beings' is read as an attack on faith; the 'say what you mean / don't lie / keep promises' trio is counted as one; 'bug nutty' sends them to dictionary.com and becomes a running gag. Their summary: man-driven guidelines stink because of man — the ideals are inconsistent because people define intelligence, creativity, and love differently. 'We are not as smart as we think, not as creative as we think, and not even close to as loving as we think.'
  • Dear LFTP: couples who won't spend a night apart 1:05:51–1:14:18
The Dear LFTP letter: a married woman asks whether culture has made couples insecure and unable to separate for even a night, citing friends whose husbands won't attend events alone. The hosts call it immaturity and passivity rather than culture — the husband should 'put on a pair of pants' and go to his reunion — while noting the younger generation may conflate constant togetherness with love. The secular advice agrees: many couples operate this way by mutual agreement; it isn't a cultural crisis.
  • Dear LFTP: 50-year-old single man and the coworker 1:14:18–1:21:48
Dear LFTP letter: a single, never-married 50-year-old man raised with conservative Christian values is drawn to a coworker twice married with two children, and asks whether their different backgrounds would impede a healthy relationship. The hosts say it depends entirely on where she is spiritually: if she doesn't share his faith, don't pursue it; if she does, her past is irrelevant. A woman's perspective in the room adds: core values must match — if they match, everything else works; if not, nothing will. The secular advice stresses a meeting of the minds as well as the hearts.
  • Troy on singleness and God's will 1:21:48–1:28:16
After skipping a poor question and noting internet connection trouble, Troy — single and addressed by name on air — talks honestly about not wanting marriage or a relationship right now: he is focused on himself, his walk with God, his work, and getting healthy, and feels he isn't mature enough for a relationship. He stays open: if God wants it, he will go where God leads, including family or even missions. The hosts accept the answer as healthy.
  • Dear LFTP: wife walking around naked in front of the boys 1:28:25–1:34:27
Dear LFTP letter: a father of three boys (11, 8, 3) says his wife walks around the bedroom and bathroom naked or topless in lacy underpants and asks whether she should cover up. The hosts unanimously agree she should cover up around the boys: parenthood costs some freedom with naked business; locks on doors, not strutting around. The secular advice agrees — a touch of modesty is the best policy; keep the door shut and have the boys knock.
  • Sign-off: guests thanked, next week's guest 1:34:28–1:37:42
The secular advice for the nudity letter is read, then the show closes: thanks to special guest Pants Whetstone, to Troy, and to Ann for the lady's perspective. They tease next week's guest — Shane Vanderhart of Child's Heart — and close with a quacking bit and a sung 'I'm all out of love.'

I think if I am a welder, I would pray that God make me be the best welder that he could use for his glory. If I'm a lawnmower, I'd pray the same thing. I suppose if you're a baseball player, you just pray, God, I want to be the best baseball player. You know, Scripture says that whatever you do, do it for Christ. As if you do it for God, right, yeah. So I kind of get the impression he's coming from the attitude, I'm doing this for you, God. I mean, I look at it and say, dude, you're playing baseball. I mean, get a job, you know, although he makes more money than I'll ever imagine. So, you know, I guess he has a job. So I don't have a problem. I think God could give a rip who really won the game or whoever, you know. But if it's an answer to prayer, he'd say, you know, your son asked for something you can provide for him. You go, oh, here, have a home run. I don't know. So that's my initial thought. At the same time, saying God really doesn't give a rip who wins or loses. So the question from the chat is, so, Pants, in your example, you're talking about somebody who, you know, perhaps God is bringing glory to himself by using someone in a situation like that, at a baseball game or whatever, and because he goes, yeah, I hit the homer and God permitted it. The chat question is, do people actually believe people like soldiers when they thank God when they win an award or something?

Like, you know, would someone go, oh, you know what? God helps that guy with home runs. I do love him and worship him. There is a God in heaven. Yeah. I think the average nonbeliever listens to that and says, yeah, it's kind of ridiculous. Well, just like the reaction of the guy who wrote the article, right? Yeah. Yeah. It seems a little ridiculous, but because if, like you were saying earlier, he said, yeah, God said I was going to hit a home run. That, I don't know. And God, if that's what God said, that's what God said. But if. Well, he did hit the home run. I mean, it did happen. But, yeah, if you're a guy like Dan saying and you're praying, you know, God, let me do good in your glory, then that's something else. So God will show, yeah, you're doing this. Here, I'll show you. I'm listening to you.

And for this, yeah, I'll give you a home run. Well, so let me ask you this. Let's, so given Dan's example, maybe the broader question is, does God care about your day-to-day stuff? Is he involved on a day-to-day level in the granular comings and goings of you and whatever you got going on? With me, yes. With the pants, no. Unlikely with the pants, yeah. Well, the Bible does say, you know, like Dan was saying, do everything for God. Do everything in his name. Yeah, as if you're doing it for him, God himself. Well, I mean, but that's you working in a manner that is pleasing to God. The question is, is God intervening in your life on a granular level? Yeah. Like when someone says, you know, by the, they were driving and by the grace of God, I didn't get in a car accident. Yeah. Is that God reaching down and barely pushing your car from getting hit or does that just happen to be the nature of stuff? I think it could be both. Okay. It depends on the situation and who would know? How would, how would we know?

I think that, I don't know if God causes someone to have a home run. I think he could. I mean, he could, but it could be more if I'm as a believer and a Christ follower doing everything I can as if it's for God. And I'm saying, man, I'm going to hit this ball as hard as I can because I play baseball for Jesus. Then you think you'd have some home runs once in a while, but I'm struggling. So I'd agree with that. Yeah. Now the, when the guy said, yeah, God told me I could get a home run. That. I'm a little fishy on it. Yeah, it's a little. I'm trying to. Yeah. That's, that's, that's. Because I'm going, again, transfer it to any job. You know, God told me I was going to mow one fine yard today. It's like, well, hopefully you were doing that because you were doing it for God. Wow. So, I mean, there's at least a nature of what something that he's saying here that is not explicitly in his control. Like, you can mow a fine yard by, you know, going up and down the yard with your fine mower.

Whether you hit a home run or not, I don't, it's probably not the same circumstance. Spankenhauser. So here's the, here's the question. Josh Hamilton with the Rangers after the, after game six says, talking to the, after the game, after hitting a home run in the 10th inning, tells the press, I would tell y'all something, but y'all wouldn't believe me. The Lord told me it was going to happen before it happened. You hadn't hit a home run in a while. You're about to right now. I, you know, I, I believe 100% in, in, you know, the power of prophesying. And I know that is one of the spiritual gifts, but I can't imagine God. And obviously I'm saying this because I don't know what, what God's plans are for every single person. And obviously I can't say 100% sure. No, God didn't tell you that. But I obviously can't say, I'm not 100% sure if he did, because I just can't imagine God reaching down and saying, Hey, just to let you know, you're going to hit a home run. I, the salvation of the world, that's cool too, but I'm going to speak to you about this home run. Well, no, no, no, no, let me ask you this. It's not like he's not capable of doing all things, right? No, I'm not saying that. Even to the extent of, hey, by the way, you're going to hit a home run.

Just for a heads up. Don't worry about it. Things are taken care of. Because you need that and then not. That ranks right up there with, I know you're a virgin and all, but hey, you're going to have a baby. It'll be God's son. I don't know if I'd rank that up there. Well, I guess not. I'm just saying. It's not. No, no, wait a minute. Hold on a second. It's not the same in impact, but it is the same in action, isn't it? Do we not have God reaching down saying, hey, here's something that's going to happen. It's going to freak you out, but that's what's going down. Yeah, but that was a pretty monumental thing, and he sent an angel to do it. Right. Yeah, you know, Hamilton here wasn't very clear as to whether an angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep. Or whether it was God on his throne saying, fear not. Yeah, I was going to say, he's done it a couple different ways.

Hell shall turn a home run. Here's my throne, and here's burning wheels between it, or here's an angel to tell you. You know, here's the thing, and I'm not sure this is even a bad thing, but I think people can. And if you're spending your life in constant prayer and talking to God, your conscience perhaps starts to reflect work of the Spirit. I agree with that. And so it's very possible that maybe you start mistaking your own intuition for God because you spend a lot of time listening for God and looking for direction. I mean, it's very possible. Yeah, I mean, you know, it's like Peter's saying, I just feel like God really wants me to jump out of this boat and walk on the water. And he did. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. He's going to, Peter, you're sinking, dude. I mean, yeah. I mean, sometimes, yeah, type A personality is probably a professional athlete. Yep. Probably just projects things onto God. And God's going to, he's going to give me this home run. And see that, that's where I think that can be just completely fried right there is the fact that when, when is it that we know that it's God saying something to us and not our own conscious just projecting something onto us in a very stoic voice? I, you know, I think, I think that's, I think it's difficult. It's just like it's difficult to detect a false prophet.

Right. Until it can verify to be false. Like even, even biblically in Deuteronomy is when it talks about identifying a false prophet. It's when he says something and it doesn't come true. So you don't know for certain until after it's failed. Like you have some kind of context to make some guesses and you can tell where people are coming from. And when he's inconsistent with scripture or something, you can say, okay, yeah, that guy's not for real. But like until it actually fails, that's when the biblical standard kicks in to say when he's wrong, it's obviously not God. Right. Yeah. So, and the thing is, is I'm going to give this guy the benefit out. And I say, I think he's probably coming from a thing of humility here. Right. Because if he thinks, hey, you're going to hit a homer. If he doesn't do it, it's obviously him. But if it comes true, it could very well be God. Right. Because who's right? Right. The Lord is right.

Right. You know, and they're saying every time. Yeah. Everything good comes from God. Everything that's not good came from me. It's easy to keep things separate if you think of it that way. And, you know, maybe coming from a heart of humility, that's where the guy's at. He may be, whether God's in it or not, I don't know. Yeah. But I think broadly, we can probably, I think we can come to agreement here that God certainly can do whatever he wants. And that includes getting involved in granular things in your life if he so believes or so wants to do it. Sure. He can do what he wants to do. And I was trying to think of a biblical example and of meeting like, I mean, there's a reason we have the stories we have in the divine inspiration, right? But even in some things like Elijah's dealing with the woman and the cakes or whatever, like she had barely enough for herself. And he says, look, you know, make me one.

Make me one. And she's like, she doesn't have barely enough to feed her and her kid. And she makes him one. And then now she's, you know, she's multiplied from there. And that's a, he didn't give her a mansion or change her status in life or find a man to come through and marry her so that she wouldn't be in the straits that she's in. But her daily needs were met. That's a granular thing. And I mean, you could extrapolate things from, from the faith in that story, but that was just a, you know, she gave up something that she didn't, she barely could afford to give up. Yeah. And God blessed her on the level of meeting her needs. It's a granular thing. That's not Moses leading people out of Egypt, but it's God working in people. And that's an example that we've been provided to be able to see that, you know. Well, it's the same with, with Jesus feeding the 5,000. That's 5,000 people, man. That's monumental. No, and I understand that's a monumental thing, but it's, it was them.

They had this many fish. They had this many loaves of bread, which was enough to feed the apostles. I think it was, um, before that was a kid's lunch. It was like a little, it was like a, Oh yeah, that's right. It was, it was not even a lunch for someone. Yeah. Then they just start splitting it through faith and I ended up feeding all these people. And then what had like 14 baskets full of bread afterwards. Yeah. That was cool. I mean, that's, that's something that, I mean, I think that I know that's not a small thing and I know that's not something that was. Yeah. It was like the opposite of the example I was going for. Right. No, I mean, thanks for throwing it out there. It's great. Hey, we're talking about how God works in a granular level in your life. By the way, here's these giant miracles. It was a, it was a, it was a, it was a need for the, each individual person.

It was a small need for each individual person was a meal. That's what I'm saying. He just did it 5,000 times over. That's true. You see, you don't see it. Nevermind. Total derail. Thanks, Ben. Good talk there. I'm just going to leave now. All right. So we're calling thumbs up on, pants, you thumbs up on a granular level or no, you think the Lord lets it spin? Get in your car accident. Yes, on both. Let's it spin? His answer is worse. God, God can be in. It is, Ben. God can be in the small stuff and the big stuff.

No matter how you look at it. You should write a song. God can be in the big stuff. He can be in the small stuff. Me and Rain the Shadows are working on it. It'll get there. All right. Chad, anything from you? Any other thoughts on God getting himself involved in the small stuff? Okay, let me ask you this. It's a slightly different question then. What about our small stuff? Because sometimes, and I'll use this show as a pertinent example. We're going to pull back the skin on this one, fellas. And so it's not like we're not getting a hold of 300 people a night here, even if you count the massive hits on the podcast. And so it's easy to look at something like this and say, well, you know, I feel like the Lord's behind it. And even if we just reach one person, we've done our work. The question really is, are you putting God in a box by doing that and providing a justification for something that perhaps isn't God-sized?

Because, I mean, God can do what he wants to do. Like, he could go after the one, but he also does things in fantastic measure. And so perhaps there's a concern that you find justification for something that you're doing and say, but you're just working for the one, when really, like, you're not doing God-sized things. Because God really isn't for what you're doing. Thoughts. So I guess to connect what we're talking about is that we're talking about God working in granular parts of your life. Is there a danger in our small feats, like, being confident that God's behind it, but the very fact that they are small, is it an opportunity that God's not in it? No. I don't think, I think if God really wanted to, he could go after the one, absolutely. If it's in God's plan to take, if we're talking about us, the show, and reach the one person, if we're on the show for 15 years, that's still pretty awesome. And I know that is awesome. However, if God wanted to take on 5,000, yeah, but I don't see any problem or any reason why God wouldn't want to take on the one. We don't know his prerogative. We don't know what he wants to do. It's his plan. If it's one dude, that doesn't mean God wasn't in it.

Do you think there's a danger, though, in continuing in what appears to be an unfruitful, what may be an unfruitful work because you feel like, yeah, but we're just after the one. I think you have to just keep asking God, is this what you want? Because he measures things differently than we tend to measure. You know, what is reaching one? Is it helping a believer to take another step in faith, or is it taking a non-believer and helping them to see Jesus and come to faith? Those are two different things. And how do you measure the believer taking a step? So sometimes what we look at and say, boy, this is kind of worthless, is really something God's doing something really in. And sometimes something that we look at and say, this is really awesome and amazing, God's going, yeah, I'm really, you know, that's… So it goes back to how do you hear God and how do you listen to him? How do you find his direction and will? And that's a continual. I don't think you can ever relax. You can't ever go, I think we got the answer, and we'll just go with that for 25 years. You've got to continually ask and re-ask and seek, and that goes down to relationship and intimacy with God and that whole thing.

It's a tough thing. And so ultimately, to steal from the chat, it's making a distinction about is this what you want or is it what God wants? Exactly. You're doing something for God. And that's what's so hard. That's my biggest fear in how we set up Pathway Church was that we do a lot of things through prayer and seeking God's heart rather than just voting because, you know, the loudest person has the most pull, usually in a voting situation. But still, that's always true. So how do you make sure God's voice is the loudest voice? And how do you make sure that you're kind of pushing out the other voices and trying to tune in only to the one voice because the sheep hear the shepherd's voice. You know, we want to hear his voice. Yep. And that's a continual challenge. And you have to always ask yourself, is this what I want? Is this what God wants? And I don't know. There's not like this button that pops up that says, oh, it's done.

This is it. You know, this is the end. Right. But it's a continual challenge for me. And checking the ego and checking all those, you know, pride and, you know, it's tough. Not that it can't be done. You just keep asking. You keep seeking. Making sure that you're not in it. That way God can fill it up and give you the right answer. And at the same time, the other flip side of that is you can't just sit around waiting for, you know, smoke signals. You can do something once in a while. The pillar of fire. Exactly. Oh. This is what you need. I'm not moving until I see the pillar move. He's like, well, dude, you know, guess what? You just wasted 20 years. I mean, that's the challenge of the whole thing.

It's so. Yeah, I'm going to say, okay, your big thing is you're waiting for that pillar to move. I'm going to do what that does. Okay. Before that moves, what are you going to do? Yeah. And that's what I think the small stuff is really the only time I think that matters. You've got your goal that you're striving for, but during that, what are you going to do? And that's where keep, like Dan saying, go back to prayer. Keep your mind on God, all your actions on God. But that's where the small stuff, I think, matters. Well, and most of the biblical movement is incremental, right? Like even when the broad purpose was for the nation of Israel to kind of go through, toss people out, take over land, you know, they're still like stopping. And, Lord, will you deliver them into my hand? Yes, I will. Take them out. Lord, will you, you know, can we get past this king without him coming after us? Yes, you can. Go ahead. You know what I'm saying?

Like it's not just go in there, take the thing over, and get back to me in a few years, and we'll see where you're at. Like even that, such a giant thing, was still an incremental move of stop, check, stop, check, deliver, move. How do I go about it? Like even if you know what, even if you say, look, I feel like this is what God wants me to do, how you do it is in the hand of God. And so I think regardless of what you're talking about, it's still a big deal. It's still a big thing to be move and check, move and check, and see where you're at, and move and for God in that fashion. Because what happened when they were obviously outnumbering the opponent, and they decided without asking God to just go ahead and conquer, you know, in that same context, thanks to Joshua. They came back with their tail between their legs, severely beaten and whooped by some inferior opponent. And God's like, well, dude, you didn't ask me. Right. Yeah. Okay, now you go and do it. Okay. Saul got himself in all kinds of trouble just going and doing stuff when he was refusing to wait for Samuel. And, I mean, he's just doing whatever he wanted to do and not God wanted him to do. And that guy really turned into a real punk. Yeah. And it was just because, like, God had even chosen him. He said, make that guy king. And then his punkish behavior really got him roasted.

Pray and move. All right. Pray and move. You listen to Live from the Path. Josh Hamilton is an – I wish I could show you this picture. We don't have the other computer, otherwise I could show you. But they've got this, like, this God looking down from the heavens at the ballgame. It's pretty funny. Nice. All right. So let's get to these – oh, let's get to the Halloween. Let's get to the trick-or-treat. Did anybody go out? Pants, did you hand out candy? My mom did. What did you do? Did you cower in the basement like a creepy old man? No, I sat in pictures. I sat and watched TV. Don't give him the Starburst.

I want the Laffy Turfies. We went to a movie. That's kind of our tradition. We just – we just escape. We had a small group, but no one came. So we thought, well, because they were all out retreating. Oh, classic. Nice. So we're like, I guess we'll go to a movie. We went and saw Courageous. Now, was it good? Yeah. Was that a good movie? It is a good movie. It is a good movie. Okay. Is it God cheesy? It's got a few God cheesy moments in it, but this is the best one yet. Okay. I was going to say, I thought I saw one of the police officers is –

the coach from Facing the Giants, isn't it? They're like all the same five actors. I was going to say, it's the same – But they're getting better. And the quality is getting better. The writing is getting better. The filming is getting better. I was going to say, Facing the Giants is a great movie, but – Yeah, I'm Mr. Wrecking Ball. I'm the one who – everybody's like raving how great these movies are. And I go out and go, that is cheese. That is cheese. That's just not even realistic. This one was 97% realistic. All right. So there's 3% cheese in there, but that's – 3%. Shannon and I were talking about it tonight. It's like there's still a little bit – I mean, it's because it's film, it's art,

and they're trying to portray a message or get a message out. They say some things that we wouldn't say. We're not like walking down the street. Look at that leaf. That reminds me of the grace of God. You know, grace. You need Jesus. You know, go ahead. They've got some segues into there. Yeah. Speaking of wine. That reminds me of how much you need God right now. So, yeah, it gets a little bit – just a little over the top. But not even bad. Yeah, not even – there were other movies I got uncomfortable. Like, okay, I'm embarrassed to even say I came to that. I hope they don't know I'm a – I had nothing to do with this film. This was good. I would highly recommend it either.

Okay. All right. All right. I've never said that. Even – I don't know if I even said that about Fireproof. That was a good point. It got cheesy at times. It was a way – Yes, you did. Yeah. Did you? Yes. What did you dress up as? I was a Viking warrior. I did see that picture on Facebook. I had a whole outfit and everything. I had toga, everything. The Viking warrior wore a toga? No, Vikings did not wear togas. I know that.

The Germanic tribes are the ones who took over Rome and Greece and all that good stuff. You know, if your costume has to have such a long backstory, you probably should have had a different gun. The whole backstory to it was, though, I was not going to find a full Viking fur armor suit. You were too lazy to do it right. You guys were looking for squirrels. You should have just wore a sign that said, I'm too lazy to do it right. Love, Troy. I don't think even the amount of drive I would have had to get that would have helped me because I literally found the costume on Saturday morning to get dressed. You're right. That's helping. I'm too lazy to do it right, and I didn't look until the day before. In all honesty, I'm not normally that really excited about Halloween. Did you go to a party? Is that the deal? I went trick-or-treating and to a party. Would you go by yourself? Because that's pretty lame. To a party?

No, no. To trick-or-treating? No, I went with my family. Oh, there was a small child with you? Yes. Okay, that's way better. I had this image of you out there with like a pillowcase. Hey. Where's the biggest pencil in the world? Can I get some candy? No, I was with, actually, Ann's family. I was hanging out with them pretty much all day, and we were going to a haunted house later on. They said they were going trick-or-treating, and I was like, okay, well, I'd love to come, so I went with some of the family. I didn't get a chance to go with Brandon, which kind of made me sad, but that was, whatever. I'll go with him next year. All right. Fair enough. Yep. You want to hear, I came up with some knock-knock jokes.

You want to hear them? Oh. Okay, ready? No, but go ahead. Okay. This one's for you. Ready? Okay. Knock-knock. Who's there? Abraham Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln who? Are you serious? You don't know who Abraham Lincoln is? You dummy. That was a good one. That one went over well. Okay, ready? This one requires action. Ready, pants?

All right. Knock-knock. Who's there? Wait a minute. Hold on. Okay, ready? Knock-knock. Who is it? Kung. Kung who? Kung-fu! And then I throw a chopper jam. Those are my two. Please don't tell me you did not do a chopper jam. Those are classic. That Abraham Lincoln joke was great. I'm taking that candy back. Thank you. All right. It's not dumb.

It's not dumb. That one's good. That one's good. Okay, this one's decent. Ready? Knock-knock. Who's there? Cash. Cash who? No, thank you. I like peanuts. Huh? Solid. That's pretty good. I feel like I have one for you. Woo-hoo! Okay, go ahead. Let's have it. Knock-knock. Who's there?

Interrupting cow. That's a trick. Interrupting cow. Yeah! There's a bag of, a basket of candy over there for you guys, if you'd like to know. I totally treated with your tricks. I deserve like 19 pieces. I really did great. Here we go. 19 pieces. Here we go. Twizzlers or Tracks. Millions go missionary on Halloween by dropping little booklets on salvation in kids' candy bags. This year, the American Tracks Society's offerings for the holiday include Peekaboo, Jesus Loves You, which sternly cautions the door-to-door pint-sized demons for a night that the Bible says the wages of sin is death. That offers an elementary school version of the sinner's prayer, such as, Jesus, I'm sorry I do bad things. Please forgive me.

The ATS Ministries Light Up the Night site reminds believers by distributing ATS Tracks along with candy or the special ATS Fun Packs that include a toy, you can provide each and every child that comes to your door with an evangelistic presentation. And it answers concerns that if participating in trick-or-treat is joining in a devilishly pagan ritual. By choosing to evangelize on Halloween, Christians can shine the true light on what is possibly one of the darkest nights of the year. The American Tracks Society has been publishing leaflets for the Lord since 1825 and never misses a trick for connecting through popular culture. Elections, TV tie-ins, cartoon knockoffs, all have been redone with a bite-sized invite to find God or face damnation. When I wrote about their Halloween efforts years ago, Shea Wakeley of Falls Church, Virginia, a Buddhist, was astonished when she found out, she found You've Got a Friend, a tract emblazoned with Toy Story's Cowboy Woody and Packers with Candy in the treat buckets towed at home by her two children. She called it completely inappropriate for Halloween, a night for children to have fun. Few ignore Halloween. Many churches around the country handle it by setting up haunted houses that draw families to their door for fun and proselytizing. I don't know if he advocates tweeting with Tracks, but Reverend Rick Warren told his bazillion

Twitter followers this weekend, Halloween is an opportunity to share Jesus with your community. Do you think, talking about God, even dropping a leaflet on salvation amid Halloween sweets is appropriate? Or should people refrain from pitching their faith to strangers' children? Spousal Dorfer. Go. Just call me Spousal Dorfer first off. When is this going to stop surprising you? Go. All right. I think, I don't know how cool that is. I mean, I obviously am 100% for administering just love of Christ to everyone. I'm not in any way against evangelizing the love of God, but I understand that O Hallow's Eve is a pagan ritual. I understand that. But our kids are not running outside worshiping demons. They're not trying to worship any pagan rituals. They're just trying to get some candy and have fun. Now, I'm going to give you just a quick background on the Halloween story. So, popular wisdom would be that it started as a pagan ritual or like at the time of a pagan

ritual, but the actual All Hallows' Eve or All Hallows' Day and All Saints' Days are Christian holidays. They were created in memories of the great saints. It was primarily like a Catholic church thing. So, like your modern day Halloween is from All Hallows' Day and All Saints' Day, which are actually Christian holidays. Okay. Then where is the pagan ritual coming from? You just said it. You're perpetuating a false… That day was in the article. A filthy lie. It was in the article. That's what I'm asking. It's in the article that it's a pagan ritual. I explained how everything goes. There's nothing I can do to help you. Go ahead. Go ahead, Dan. How are you feeling about this deal?

I think it's very clear in the Bible that when Jesus went to the well and asked a woman for a drink of water, he took the water and gave her a track and walked away and let the track do the talking. And when he went into the temple and people were misrepresenting God in temple sacrifices, he handed them all literature and walked away, knowing that the bite of the written word was more stronger than a whip. And when the thief next to him on the cross was dying and asked for forgiveness, Jesus looked down at John and said, would you please hand him the track? And since that time, it's been a very effective way to tell people about Jesus. I don't remember any of that happening. And on the day of Pentecost, thousands were present and they heard the printing presses going and so they all gathered and Peter went to the crowd, distributed tracks by the thousands and 2,000 were added to the number that day because of the bright colors that attracted people. And it was the catchy cultural frames in there, reeling them in the feast or famine. The great pictures of Jesus that Peter had drawn on to the tracts. Speaking in tongues is really just a translation of the tracts. Exactly. They were different languages printed and they could all read it in their own language. And ever since then, wise Christians everywhere don't bother even communicating or talking to

people who are unbelievers. They just give them tracts and walk away and even invite them to their homes, give them tracts and send them away. And I'm with, I'm for it. Yeah. I couldn't be more in agreement with Dan. He presents it so clearly. I didn't realize what I was missing. I need to go back and reread my Bible. How are you feeling, Pants? You have me follow up on that? Yeah, go ahead. I mean, that, Dan just said it the way it is. I mean, that, that's it. Exactly. I recall reading that. I assume this is Mike. Pants, I know we read that ago. Where it says, Tracts are for cowards, love Jesus, punch in the face. Dude.

Mike. Enough with the punch in the face from Jesus. These are so bad. These are so, so bad. Like, what better opportunity do you have to, like, create a relationship with someone or even start some kind of nicety with somebody when they come, your neighbor comes up to your door and says, trick or treat. You're like, hi, how you doing? Oh, that's a cute costume. What are your names? Awesome way to get to know somebody and start a nice relationship as opposed to, hi, I didn't know you were a demon. Here's some Jesus literature. We can clean that demon right up. Do you love Satan? Here's this. Take three pieces of candy, demon. What do you care? You're going to need it when you read this. Oh, they're so bad.

Because, exactly. It betrays just lazy, cowardice, unloving, like, religion stuff. Oh, I'm supposed to tell people about Jesus. Here's a real passive way for me to get away with it. I've done my job. Yeah. The help of you burn. Are you kidding me, God? I handed out, like, 14 of those million dollar bills last week. Yeah. Yeah. So, those are the two greatest commandments. My dad was all on it. Oh, my gosh. And love, what was it, love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and give people what you would also read. As long as you enjoy it, they'll enjoy it. I really need to go reread my Bible. I don't remember any of this. Oh, they're so embarrassing.

You know, and here's the deal. Here's the deal. People have their minds in the right place, but they have their hearts in the wrong place. They're just not, they're thinking. Or is it opposite? No, no, no. No. I think they're thinking, oh, I can share Jesus. Think, think, think, yes. Not, this is a person standing in front of me. I'm missing a relationship, an opportunity to really be a part of their, I'm not even saying you have to, like, start going to brunch with these guys, but seriously, you could, that's an easy way to get a name, at least. Hey, Melvin family. I remember, I had such a cute costume last Halloween. Okay, great. Now you have something to say to a guy when he walks by. Foot in the door? Yeah. Yeah.

The track is not a foot in the door. I don't even like the word. It puts me off. I know. Maybe here's what we're missing. We're missing such a great opportunity to make a mint. Why don't we make tracks for everything? Tracks for husbands, whenever they're just, you know, honey, I love you, and here's a little information. You know, I don't have to be able to say it, you know. You can, I mean, what, all the opportunities you have to say what you really don't want to say. I love you with the biblical love of Jesus. For more information on how I love you, would you like to know more? We see the following track. No, I mean, we can, we can expand the market. We don't, we don't even have to be biblical. Just, just, I don't want, you know, I'm too lazy to have a relationship with you, my spouse, so let me just give you this track to tell you what I, you know, somebody tells me I should be thinking.

If you would like to know more, we have a follow-up. You would like, you want a hug? Turn to page nine. Exactly. What do you mean we never talk? What do you mean we never talk? I gave you the track. You didn't read it? I emailed you last week. You got an email from me a day ago. Oh, man. I'm saying we can go big with these. They're just, actually, I'm kind of interested. What was that, what was this website? Where are they at here? That wouldn't work. American Tract Society. That has got to be the most banal, like, organization you've ever been involved with. They used to send me samples. Somebody did.

I think it was them. Like, every, every few years, I'd get a sample of a whole bunch of just samples of particular tracks. And I'm just like, I almost shed tears. I was so embarrassed. Oh, these are great. Here we go. Hold on a second. Here we go. So, I'm going to give you the title of the track and then the tagline that goes with it. Here we go. Here's a Halloween-a-themed bag of jokes. Sin is no joke. Okay, there's Peekaboo. Jesus loves you. Jesus loves you all the time. A timeless message. All, capital A-L-L, children need this Halloween. Harvest Fun.

Great evangelistic track for children's harvest festivals. Contains fun word puzzles. Oh, here's the number one. Light up the night, glows in the dark, expose tracks to light for a few minutes to activate the glow-in-the-dark ink. Oh, who cares? Oh, no. Costumes are cool, but heaven is awesome. Sweet treat. Just if there are consequences to eating too many sweet cavities, there are consequences to our sick. Oh, man. I can't imagine someone thinking that's effective. Holy cats, there's a ton of these. Have you ever known anybody, anybody who's come to Christ because they read a pamphlet? Have you ever heard of anybody out there? I, maybe. So I never have, but… I, from my dad, though. He was lying to you.

He was lying to me. Um, no, because he got, he got big into those, those million dollar bills and they were ridiculous. Like, he was absolutely, I love him with all my heart, but they were ridiculous. I begged him to burn them. They were cool to look at. But he used to tell me, he was like, yeah, leave a 20 or leave a tip and then leave it with the tip. And I'm like, what? Oh, that's not cool. He was like, yeah, I do it all the time. Everywhere I go, I keep these in my wallet and I leave them as a tip and I'll hand them to him. And I'm just like, dad, seriously. And I was going to be, I love my dad, so I was all for it. I was like, okay, can I get a couple for my wallet? He's like, yes, sure. Pulls out like a stack of them. Hands me a couple. He's like, if you ever need more, let me know. I'm like, all right, dude, I never handed one of those out once, but I can't, I think

I may be just fabricating this, but I'm pretty sure my dad told me about someone who asked him about it as he was walking out. And I don't know if they were just intrigued by it, like the words on it, or if they were just like, hey. They were joking. What the heck is this? This is a fake million dollar bill. What are you like, trying to pay a monopoly money? I don't know what this is. Or if it was like, wow, these words have changed my life and inspired me. I highly doubt it was that, but you never know. It's crazy. If God wanted to work through a track, he would. It'll happen. Can you think of any other organization, like that would be littering. If they were just walking around dumping pamphlets out like the American, you know, yarn society and they're just like dumping stuff off all the time. It's just been confirmed my father would give those out at work as well. Oh, classic. And worked with my dad before I knew her.

Oh, shut up. You know, right now, all of heaven's laughing at him. And they're like, really? And he's embarrassed. I know. Biking the angels. Seriously? Like, tracks? Come on. Love you, dad. It's just. Love you. It's just lazy. So does he am. It's kind of lazy. See, that's where I thought. I think it's more the heart is engaged, but the mind is not. The heart is so. I so badly want people to know about Jesus. And I'll do anything.

Anything. Anything. I'll give you just a stupid piece of paper. Maybe that'll work. I will humiliate myself in front of people and hand you a piece of paper that says Jesus loves you. You know, I almost. I bet it depends on the person. I bet. Because I think you're trying to get out of evangelizing or if you're trying to get another reason. I think there are some people that play those tracks the same way they play church. I go. Oh, thus I am good. I give out these. For God. Yeah. God loves me. I'm willing to do this. So here you go.

You need to. I mean, that's a pretty power play. I'm willing to do something like hand out this booklet. Now take a Bible with you. You want to drop a Bible on people? I'm for that. I don't know where they get these cheesy pictures of Jesus to put on these tracks, but I mean, they're not good. I want to know. They're not good. All right. All right. You're listening to Live from the Path. We're broadcasting. You know, I can't. What does that say? Read it. Oh. It looks like it's God's work, but it's a people thing. Okay.

Yeah. It's what we were talking about earlier when it comes to those tracks. It looks like it's something God would want, but it seems to be more of a people thing. Plus, they're a little pricey. $250. That seems a little stiff. It just says $250. Maybe it's a box. Maybe it's a pack of 10 or something. It's still a little pricey. Anyway. How much you pay for candy? A quarter for a fun-sized Snickers. Well, you're listening to Live from the Path. We're broadcasting. Now, I am a bit disappointed because we expected to be still in the midst of a 24-7 prayer room, and we are not that anymore. The prayer room is still open, but we are not 24-7. When did the laps?

Was it Saturday? During the night, Saturday. Overnight Saturday. Yeah. Me and Pants talked about it. We were going to come out, but it wasn't going to do much to save the thing. Yeah. To try to hang out for five hours in the middle of the night. That's going to call me. I hate to see it go. Like I said. Yeah. But, I mean, it's… You know, if it's… I'm happy I got in there. Especially for the middle of the night, though. Like, if it's like three people keeping the prayer room open in the middle of the night, it's like, ah, that's not the spirit of the thing. That's not. It's like, if it can't sustain itself, it can't sustain itself.

Right. That's not fun. So, I mean, we're still… We're still… I still like these digs out here. So, we're broadcasting from out here for now. Cool. And there have been people coming in there and playing still. Yeah. Still people. I think… People today came. Yeah. And me and Pants are still going to… We're still going to take an overnight shift. Probably not tonight or tomorrow morning, but I think the next morning we're probably still going to come out. I'm going to come out with you guys. Okay. So, anyway.

Anyway. But, so we are still from the prayer room. Still in our sweet digs. Cool. It was a… It was a… I don't know. Pants, anything… So, we talked a little bit the last time. Anything else come out from prayer room stuff this week? I actually haven't been in there that much since then. But, that throne room where we built that… Put the chair up. Making it civilized… Oh, it's not a chair. It's a throne. The throne of God. That still impacts me pretty big. Good. And yeah, we've got the CD of the Bible going.

It's got some freaky voices going like they're angels. That still is a little freaky, but… Yeah, there's one particular part of the… Where all of them… They just sound more demonic than… Early, early. It's like, they're creepy. That's exactly what it sounds like. I'm a man of unclean lips. They call me legion. It does not look like a diorama. You're underselling it. You need to change your heart about it. I didn't say it. I'm talking to Mike. I had someone Sunday say it was the most impactful time they have ever had in one of our prayer rooms. I thought it was awesome. Dan, was that you? It was not. I mean, I actually was kind of on the creepy side myself.

Yeah. It's okay. I went in there a couple times like… You know, let's stay there for about 30 seconds going. Yeah, that's enough. And it was several days in. I thought, okay, I need to just my attitude on this thing and just look at it for what the intent is behind it. Yeah. And you think… I mean, obviously, this isn't the throne of God. This is the prayer room isn't heaven, but it's all symbolic. And you go in there and you think, the awe of being with God. That's pretty cool. We, you know, Daniel happened to be back on fall break. And so the four of us, my two daughters, my wife and I went in there and we just sat on the floor and held hands and prayed for each other. And it was so neat. I can't tell you how many times all four of us have just spent a significant amount of time praying out loud together. You know, we pray for meals and we pray blah, blah, blah. You know, but this was like a prayer time, you know. And it was so cool and it kind of hit me in the midst of that that, I mean, someday we'll like all be before the real throne, you know.

And like, you know, you picture the myriads of angels and all the heavenly beings that are up there. It's like that is such an incredible, overwhelming sight and thought. And so I mentioned to him, you know, we were done praying and said, hey, guys, we're all going to get here at different times, you know, the real place. But let's make sure and look each other up. This would be kind of cool to do this again. And before God Almighty, just worship and shout and sing and dance. And it was kind of cool. Yeah, I liked it. I think if you go there and you're thinking about it in the right way, it's kind of that Francis Chan gave the example in the first or second chapter that Crazily was talking about, like, approaching the throne of God. And really, like, think about who you're talking to instead of just either talking within your own head or kind of out to everywhere. And it was kind of that same thought. And I think I might have mentioned this last week. So, like, my experience was I kind of went in there. Now, I didn't even look up. Like, I didn't look up, and I backed out without turning my back on the throne, and, like, I got kind of in and out of the deal. And I was walking down the hall, and I thought, well, that's kind of silly, maybe. But I thought, you know, that's where I was. Like, that's where I was as far as looking how I envisioned it. Because, like, honestly, if you open your eyes, you recognize you've got your knees on movie theater curtains, and there's DJ light underneath there, and there's just a table. Yeah, you know what I'm saying?

Like, it works if you want it to work. Yeah. You know, if you don't, you know, if it's not your bag, you know, whatever. It's not going to do it. You're not going to walk in and, like, wow, they really did this up something fierce. Because, like, you could have put another eight weeks in there, and you wouldn't have come up with something that's even close to God's throne room, you know? He floated in the sky with burning wheels. It's going to be some sort of wicked trick. You're not going to be able to do anything. No, and that's how everything we do in that prayer room is the exact same way. It's how, it's what you put into it is what you're going to get out. Yeah. So, with the throne room, what are you staring at? The chat is mentioning that you're eating something. I came in, saw these delicious pumpkin bars. Whatever you did, the comment is, you're nasty. I'm nasty? Yeah. I'm sorry. That's what happened.

I'm just relaying the chat. Who said? I'm the moderator. That's it. Who's saying I'm nasty? For what? Because I'm eating a pumpkin bar? There's like three votes. Three votes and I'm nasty. My apologies. I'll make sure that I'm off to the side more. No, with everything we do in there, it's going to be what we put into it we're going to get out. Yeah. The throne room is obviously nothing like the throne of God. And it's, I mean, it's a small room and it's got movie curtains. It's a Kamala underneath there. So what? I still walked in there and Pants and I were talking about it the first time I had been in the prayer room. And he was just like, dude, I want to sit on the big chair. And I thought to myself, oh, that's fun because I had no clue what he was talking about.

Oh, that's fun. I had no idea what he was talking about. And I walk in there. I'm like, oh, oh, that's supposed to be the throne of God, Pants. I don't know if I'd sit there. I wouldn't try to dethrone. Yeah, exactly. And I mean, you can take it however you want. You really can. You can walk in there and see a chair on a table with some curtains. Or you can walk in there and sit in reverence of what you can imagine the throne of God to be. And just imagining the throne of God and being in the awesome power of God, that alone floors me. And I don't care. And I don't care. But you can look and see a wall with paper on it or you can see the temple wailing wall where for centuries they've come and put prayer requests to God. Same thing. And you can walk in there and see the cross as a hunk of wood. I mean, it's obviously not the cross that Jesus died on, but it's someone's cutout rendition of it. And it was still cool to look at. I mean, it was still – it's imagery.

That's all it is. It's something you can look at and think about and think of the reverence that you have for that specific image. Agreed. Same with the Holy of Holies last year. Yeah. Obviously, you weren't in the Holy of Holies. You were sitting in a chair in a curtained area. Well, now, I mean, even from a technical definition, though, Holy is a set-apart, so to be set-apart from the set-apart. That is a prayer room, so you're set-apart, and then you have a small shack-looking thing to set-apart of the set-apart. That's pretty close. That's Holy of Holies. That is a technical Holy of Holies you got there. All right. Yeah. All right. In his new book titled God Know, Atheist Magician Pendulette – Is it N-O or K-N-O-W? God, comma, no, exclamation point. I mean, how's no spelled? N-O.

Okay. Okay. Yeah. Atheist Magician Pendulette tells how he was challenged by conservative radio host Glenn Beck to come up with an atheist version of the Ten Commandments. I wanted to see how many of the ideas that many people think are handed down from God really make sense to someone who says, I don't know. Here's the list. Number one, the highest ideals are human intelligence, creativity, and love. Respect these above all. Number two, do not put things or even ideas above other human beings. Number three, say what you mean, even when talking to yourself. Number four, put aside some time to rest and think. Number five, be there for your family. Love your parents, your partner, and your children. Love is deeper than honor, and parents matter, but so do spouse and children. Number six, respect and protect all human life. Many believe that thou shalt not kill only refers to people in the same tribe. I say it's all human life. Number seven, keep your promises. For example, if you can't be sexually exclusive to your spouse, don't make that deal. Number eight, don't steal.

This includes magic tricks and jokes. You know who you are. Number nine, don't lie. You know, unless you're doing magic tricks and it's part of your job. Number ten, don't waste too much time wishing, hoping, and being envious. It'll make you bug nutty. Those are the ten. It'll make you what? The phrase was, bug nutty. Live it. I don't know if I want that. Okay. It's like, I think he's quasi-joking on some of these. But let's, I don't know, let's take a look. So the first one was, the highest ideals are human intelligence, creativity, and love. Respect these above all. What do you think? What do you think? You live in a society governed by the First Commandment, Troy Englinger. Highest ideals are human intelligence, creativity, and love.

That's what I was going to say. If we're as good as it gets. What's our intelligence? I've seen people. They be stupid. Stupid people. If that's one of the things that's above all else, we are in trouble. If people don't realize that, meet me. The love that we have. The poster child. The love that we have in this world is absolutely minuscule to anything that resembles love. It really is. I mean, as a society in a whole, I mean, if you're looking at the society itself, obviously, parents love their kids most of the time. Husbands love their wives and vice versa most of the time. We love each other most of the time. But we don't even know what love is. Like, we have no clue. I want to know what love is for you to show me. Wow.

I was not expecting both of you to say that at the same time. It was a softball. You put it right out there. It was just there. You can't let that go. That I will do it in me too. God said, I'm giving you a home run. You haven't had one for a while. I feel like this is necessary. So, well played, gentlemen. That was great. I'm sorry. Go ahead, Troy. That threw me. Do you even have a clue what you were saying? That I've lost it. I just got sang to by two men. I want to know what it is in the high-pitched voice of the song. That's going on to your compilation. That's to your compilation.

To my last part, we don't know what love is. Don't sing, please. Edit. If that's what we're holding up above, I mean everything else, we're in trouble. Especially with human intelligence and love and creativity. There's people that think they're creative in this world that are very not. So, at first glance, intelligence, creativity, and love doesn't sound bad, but what you're saying is we can't not implement them correctly? Yeah. We are not as smart as we think. We are not as creative as we think. And we're not even close to as loving as we think. Let's talk about the intelligence of mankind. The Titanic comes to mind. Dan, there are a million other ships that did not crash. You might be slightly unfair. Well, it's very true. It was heralded as the ultimate of intelligence. The ultimate unsinkable ship. There's a lot of things that have been heralded as the ultimate of intelligence that are just

going to be looked at in a hundred years as, man, that was stupid. But a guy in this position might say that's just progress. Like, that's an indication of, if you look back and you say, well, it's stupid, it's because we have progressed from there. Thus, our intelligence has carried us further. Yeah. I don't know if intelligence is carrying us. Well, okay, then what is it? You got to meet a man on his level. Here's the deal. It's like, if you're going to talk about someone who says, look, what's wrong with saying that we should have respect for human intelligence, creativity, and love without saying God loves you and that should be it. Like, I'm not saying you have to agree with someone, but where's he coming from? Because the fallow… He's coming from a standpoint of… I don't believe God. Exactly. You're not able to explain the things that we're able to explain with God. He doesn't have the God portion to say, you know, we don't understand that, but that's

God working. We don't understand this, but that's God working. He doesn't have that. So he's got to fill it with something else. That's not a discussion. You're bowing out. You're saying, I don't have an explanation for you, but you're missing God. That's what you're saying. Now, there's an inherent problem with these things. Because the thing is to say, the highest ideals, human intelligence, creativity, and love are all based upon an assumption that, for example, intelligence is consistent among people, like that it's definable and people have the same definition of what being smart is or what people know or think they should know and how they know it. That's not consistent among people. Well, no, there's creativity in that case. I mean, creativity in one person could be completely stupid to another. And people's definition of what love looks like, I have a definition of what love looks like because I can look at how God loves me and extrapolate from there. Biblical example of how love is portrayed and go from there, right? Without that example, people's love is defined by them.

Well, not even just a heavenly example. I mean, one man is raised by this father. This father is a man who's completely disconnected from his kids but is more than willing to provide for him. That's love to that guy. Love to that guy is being there for your kids in a physical sense but not in any way actually loving them. Another person can say, you know, my dad, you know, he didn't really have a job. He stayed at home. He did this. He did that. But he loved me. That's that person's definition of love. That's what I'm saying. Again, the problem here isn't – an answer to this is not to say – if you're trying to look at someone on their level and why this is not going to work as, say, a commandment for your society saying, yeah, but you're just missing God, you've just lost that person. You're not meeting them where they're at. Now, where they're at is they're proposing something that is completely inconsistent among people.

That's why it's – because ultimately here is that anything that is not God is fallible in some way or another. You can't prove that what they're saying is correct, but there should be a way to prove why it's not going to work because God's way is right and no one else's is wrong, right? If everyone else be true, let God be a liar. But he's not a liar, which means that makes everybody else wrong. So if you're inconsistent with God, you have a problem. The problem here is consistency. You don't have a consistent human intelligence, a consistent creativity, and a consistent love of which a society can be run by, those things that are mutual, and holding those as an ideal is going to be very, very difficult because people define those differently. Let's look at number two. All right. Do not put things or even ideas above other human beings. It seems pretty reasonable to me. Pants? I agree. I guess I don't see a problem with that. Now, there's an inherent problem. There is one – well, for us, there would be one inherent problem with this statement,

right? If you say do not put things or even ideas above human beings, generally your religion would fall into the idea category. With – Your God would fall into the idea category. Yeah. Going on, the atheists where they don't believe or know God, then I can see why they have that as one of their top ones. Sure, and they have an agenda to undermine people of faith, and that would undermine, because then they could come back to that and say, no, no, no, no, you're putting that above people. Yeah. And it's like, no, actually, we're putting people first, but that's because we're coming from two different world views. So here's a way to meet where they're coming from, because I think you could – initially, you could say, well, do not put things or even ideas above other human beings. That's a hard one to argue from a loving other people standpoint, yes? Yeah. Right? So, however, the problem is, is how people interpret how they deal with other people. Yeah.

In fact, you even have that in political factions. Do you give people money? You make them work for the money. Exactly. And so, like, you can't – am I putting someone – I'm helping someone by not giving them anything, by letting them learn to become providers for themselves. Right? Like, we're pretty 50-50 country on that, on how you deal with people. So saying do not put things or even ideas above other human beings, generally the problem with ideas is because they are ways that people express on how they're going to treat other human beings, on how you put them above. Everyone expresses – like, is trying to make the case that what they're doing is loving towards somebody else. Like, is the best way to handle it. Not because they're cruel, but because they love people. And if you love them, you teach the man to fish. You don't give him the fish. Or if you love them, you give him the fish. Why would you make him work for it if you can just give it to him? You have it to give, you greedy monkey.

All right? So the problem with this is, you're not disagreeing in principle. We're disagreeing on the premise of, again, human inconsistency, which I think is going to wreck all of these. Sorry, guys, you guys having a problem? Chet, you're having a problem with the buffering, huh? Yeah. I don't know if I can do much about that. We are – in this room, we do broadcast. There are some bumps in the broadcast push. So sorry about the problem with the feed. Many apologies. All right, Eric, let's hit a couple more. Just don't put that idea about people. Correct. Yes, very good. Absolutely not. Say what you mean even when talking to yourself. Yeah. I mean, I wouldn't call it the top ten of life, but it's a pretty –

solid principle. I mean, I suppose it depends how far you take it, right? Yeah. I think that if you have love above all else, if you say what you mean and you don't like a person, that's not really loving them. I mean, if the first thing is you're going to keep human intelligence, creativity, and love above all things, if you're going to say what you mean and you're not saying something and a loving heart to someone, why would you say it and still hold love above all else? You wouldn't. I agree. I agree. Put aside some time to rest and think. Yeah, that's actually in the top ten. Yeah. Shabbat. Yeah. A Sabbath. Be there for your family. Love your parents, your partner, and your children. That's right in there, too.

Yeah, except Jesus would say, like, spouse rather than partner, because he specifically chose partner. True, true. It says, love is deeper than honor, and parents matter, but so do spouse and children. Are people loving their parents more than their spouse and kids? I guess I would assume it would be the other way. Not that I don't love my mom. I'm just saying, like… It happens. It's present. It'd be more present for me, I think. I'm seeing marriages in trouble, because they wouldn't give up. Huh. Respect and protect all human life. Yeah. I probably mean that more than he does. Yeah. Because he doesn't… Does he qualify a pre-born child as human life? He does not say.

He does not say. But I think we can get on board with that one. Respect is tough. That's too universal. The word… In fact, he uses respect twice. That's a tough one. Again, people can use respect however they want to. I think that one's… Does it just mean be nice? Yeah. Keep your promises. For example, if you can't be sexually exclusive to your spouse, don't make that deal. I would agree with that. It's not far enough, but… That goes back to say what you mean. Yeah. It's the same thing. Yeah. I think that's six and three are the same.

Say what you mean. Keep your promises. He needs to come up with a new one. A lot of trouble, though. As a matter of fact, number nine is don't lie. That would be the same thing. He's only got seven. Yeah. I feel cheated. God was much better at this than this guy. Don't steal. Okay. That's one. Word agreement. And don't waste too much time wishing, hoping, and being envious. It'll make you bug nutty. I think that's a great principle. I think we need to define bug nutty. I don't know about that. Let's see what I can…

What's that going to do about this bug nutty? It's weirding me out. I have no idea what that means. I'm going to see if it's a legitimate word on the dictionary.com. How's everybody doing there? Nope. She's going fine. Okay. Things are going fine. I'm checking it out. Talk amongst yourselves. Uh, bug nutty. I just… What do you… Okay. All right, Spangler. What do you think it means? Bug nutty? Yeah. Say the 10th…

Who's breathing heavy into the microphone? Pants? Can you get yourself under control? Say the… I'm safe, man. I'm breathing heavy. Hey, I'm sure this sounds really cute and cool in your, you know, 19-year-old boy mindset fellas at the table. But I'm guessing it's irritating someone trying to listen. Oh. That's funny. Um, what's the… What's the 10th one again? Bug nutty? Bug nutty. How is it in context? Don't waste too much time wishing, hoping, and being envious. It'll make you bug nutty. It'll make you bug nutty. Um…

Chat definition of bug nutty? It does not give a lot of context there. I think it just drives you crazy. Yeah. Makes you unhappy. That I can understand. Yeah. It… I don't even know. I don't even know where to… It just seems like an interesting thing to be putting into an official 10 command. I think it's… I think it's nutty. It's the same thing as nutty. He just said bug nutty. Because it's… Is it two words? Because it's even worse. No, it's one. Is it hyphenated?

Dad, you don't have your video going over there, do you? Uh, I do. Yeah, hit the old pause on it. We're low on bandwidth. Oops. Get out of there. All right. So anyway, there's… There's where our top 10… I agree with Dan. We're down to at least eight. He's got to lose two because everything… The principle of be honest. It's a… So here's… Ultimately, the deal is… Uh… Man-driven guidelines… …always stink… …because of man.

Yes? When you're in it, that's… Yeah. That's what's wrong. Mankind, people will always screw up whatever they put down. Right? Because they're inconsistent. They're fickle. They're bug nutty. They're the source of… They're bug nutty. Ultimately, pants… They are the source of evil. Yes. All right. All right. Well, there we go. I'm not… I guess I'm not ready to swap out my… I was going to say, I like ours.

They were pretty good. They seem to be holding up. I don't know. Pants, anything jump out about them? Let me ask you this. Was it what you expected? When I said we have the top ten commandments of atheism, was it what you expected? You know, I don't know. I don't think I knew what to expect. They weren't as crazy as I imagine I would have thought. Because being atheist, where there isn't the definition of being an atheist, not believing in anything, then they have rules for not believing in things? Yes, that's true. Well, I mean, it's people-centric. I mean, it's kind of what you expected as far as, like, we don't believe in a higher power, but we believe in people. And that's tough, man. That's tough to look at the TV at all, like even a reality show, and say, I believe in people. Look at that guy. Like, that's the guy I will be off of. And the Kardashians.

That's who I believe in. Not to revisit it, and I apologize if we're trying to move on here, but the promises come in that they were… Can you read that again, Farron, please? Keep your promises. Was there any… If you can't be sexually exclusive to your spouse, don't make that deal. Oh, so that was just… We were agreeing with that one. I don't know if I do. You don't think you should keep your promises? What promises are you making? If you can't be sexually exclusive to your spouse, don't make that deal. That's the only promise they're saying you should keep. No, that is an example. That's an example. Okay. If you're making bad promises to people, like if you're making promises to do something that's absolutely terrible, don't keep that promise. I promise I will murder this person for you. Don't keep that promise. Now, I think these are…

Now, to be at least fair with them, I think they are predicated upon themselves. If you are keeping your promises, you are also not putting things or ideas above other human beings. Having human intelligence, creativity, and love as the highest ideals. Yeah, I can understand that. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I just… I didn't remember the… Instead of you guys that are rueful atheists. Done it. All right. Here we go. Dear Abby… Oh, sorry. Dear Live from the Path. Oops. I don't do this. Mike does this. My husband and I have been married for eight years and are amazed that most of our married

friends are unable to separate for even a night. I was raised in a household where my parents took time for themselves. Whether it was my dad's high school reunion that mom had no interest in, or my mom's personal growth seminars that dad was slow to accept. It worked for 48 years until mom's death. The wife of one couple we know refused to attend our high school reunion, so her husband didn't go either. Even though many of his close friends would be in attendance. He doesn't make plans for himself because everything has to be run past his wife. Does our culture create insecurity? Have we lost our independence? Fance, are you not planning on answering this one? Is that why you're so far back from the microphone? Drug and water. Okay. I breathe heavy. That's true. Dan, first thought? My first thought is they are immature and I hate to use the same word, but they are insecure in their relationship if they can't spend a night apart from each other.

That's just not healthy. You need to once in a while get away from each other and get some breathing room. I don't care who you are. You drive each other crazy. You're two human beings living in the same place and you need space. And it's good to get away once in a while. Now, hold on. So, I think that what she's saying is my husband and I have been married for eight years and we are amazed that most of our married friends won't separate for even a night. And it seems to be because you have one dominating party who, like, if they won't agree to go, nobody goes. Yeah. So, like, this one was the wife of one couple we know refused to attend our high school reunion so her husband didn't go either. He doesn't make plans for himself because everything has to be run past his wife. He needs to put on a pair of pants and just say, hey, guess what? I'm going. Yeah, yeah. I'm leaving. I'm going to the high school reunion.

It's not like I'm saying I'm going to the brothel. Exactly. I'm going to the high school reunion. So, you know, boy, he's really pansied himself up here. I mean, here's the thing. It's not because it's his responsibility to bully the relationship, but, like, he's being bullied. He's permitting it. He's permitting himself to be stomped all over. Yeah. I mean, is there a history of unfaithfulness or something? Or is there a reason that, I mean, it doesn't mention that. But, I mean, why would you be so untrusting to let someone go for a night to your reunion unless there's, like, a history or something with people there or… What if you just didn't want to go? Do you think you owe it in a loving, trustworthy relationship? Do you owe it to your wife to stay home if she doesn't want to go and you want to go? Uh-uh. I think you say, hey, this is all right. You stay home and have a book night or go out and have fun with the girls or whatever. I'm going to go out and hang out with my friends and…

But I want you to stay with me, Dan. And I'll leave pictures. We've met. I'll send you tracks of… I'll make you… Here's a few things I'd like to say to you. I'm pretty sure the reunion has literature. Here's our newsletter. See, these are the ones that I get uncomfortable to answer. And I don't know if it's me being a pansy. I hope it's not. Well, Dan's calling me a pansy, so it's obviously me being a pansy. I've never been in a relationship like that. I don't know a lot of scriptural stuff about relationships. And I'm going to be… Don't know much. But I know I love you. Wow. All right. Another home run from Dan.

I just… I don't know… I would not be comfortable with it, with someone telling me, no, I can't go, just because they don't want to go. Myself, I would say, okay, well, then you can stay home, and I'm going to go because it's something that I want to do. And I will see you afterwards and in the morning. Why do you start talking? You get like a New Yorker accent when you talk. That's something I want to do. Do you always do that when you're laying down the law with your lady? You know what I'm talking about here? This is the way we do the law here. I'm going to do it because I want to do it, all right? Ain't nothing you can tell me about it. No, I didn't mean to get an accent. I was just saying a word. Okay, okay. My apologies. All right.

All right. And that's just… And I don't know if that's… I don't know if that's wrong to say. I think he's being… Yeah. And the question is, has society made us insecure? Is the culture doing it? Do you think the culture is creating it? No, I think he's just a wimp. I was going to say, that's nothing to do with culture. I agree. I think he's just… I think he's being a pansy. Yeah, time to put your overalls on, hike out, go out for the night. Things are going to be fine. Because, I mean, really, if that's a problem, that's not… I mean, there's something that's not healthy there. Maybe it's just a maturity thing. It's the same thing when you have a baby.

You cling on to that thing for so long, and then at some point you go, maybe they need to spend the night at grandma's house. And then they do, and you survive. And then you do it again. Tomorrow. Then you say, we'll see you next week. What was the advice? They just got to do it. Pants, you don't have any thoughts? No. Okay. What was the advice? Worldly advice. So the question was, does our culture create insecurity? Have we lost our independence? The answer is no. You have described a man who is passive and prefers to leave the social scheduling to his wife. I don't think it has anything to do with our culture. Many couples operate this way by mutual agreement, and you shouldn't take it personally. Do you want to share a woman's point of view on this?

We're just a bunch of guys fumbling around who are obviously clueless. I think it is in the younger generation. Really? They're all a bunch of pansies? No, I think they have a misconceived notion of how a relationship is supposed to be. That you should be with somebody all the time. If you love them, you want to spend the rest of your life together, you should spend all this time together. But you can't grow as a person attached to someone's hip. Yeah. Have your own time. You think maybe it's because so many of the younger generation, their parents have been maybe divorced once, twice, three times, whatever, and they're just so freaked out that if they're alone, they might be with someone else? Because they've seen it? I do think so. I know more people in my generation that have come from a split family than whose parents have been together. And you think, oh, well, if I really love this person, I want to be with them all the time, and then I want to suffocate them. And even I personally am in a relationship where one of us feel that if the other one doesn't want to do it, then, well, neither one of us are going to do it. And it's, no, go. Go be yourself.

We don't have to be together all the time. Fly, be free. I think it is a younger generation cultural thing. Because, see, I mean, I grew up, my wife and I both grew up in broken homes. My dad, if they were left home alone, would find someone and hook up. And he introduced me to him sometimes. It was awesome, you know. But that, I just figured, okay, my dad was an idiot. So when we got married, we had an honest conversation about the thing that was like, here's the deal. So my parents divorced. Her parents were going through divorce. We're in this forever, right? Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Maybe it's because, I mean, the whole culture, that's like an island thing. I mean, I had other friends who had the same situation. But it seems like it's odd to be in a family where the husband and wife had been together from the beginning. So maybe that is a broader. I'm kind of fumbling over my words as I'm thinking at the same time. It hurts to think and talk and process at the same time.

But, yeah, that's it. All right. I'm sinking here. All right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Going down quick. It's really. It took a tanker there. There's a lot of bubbles. Dear Life on the Path, I am a single, never married, 50-year-old male. I have no children and was raised with strict conservative Christian values. Here we go. Conservative Christian values that I have held on to all these years. I have never had any long-term relationships. Recently, I met a single gal at work, and we enjoy each other's company. Our backgrounds, however, are very different. She makes me feel things. That's what he's saying here. She has been married twice and has two children. In addition, neither of her children was conceived from either of her marital unions.

My question is, would our diverse background impede the fostering of a healthy relationship, or is this something worth pursuing? Pants, why don't you get up to the mic? Tell me a penny for your thoughts. Does she have the same beliefs that he does? Pants, it is a flat piece of paper. I cannot interview it. You have all the information I have. What good are you? Excuse me, Internet page. What do you believe? We have some more questions. Go! Shit. No, I'd say if the guy should, if anything, introduce her to the church, have a date night. You guys go to church together, date morning, whatever, and form a relationship. I don't think it's going to hurt him any, getting a relationship with her. If she's open to that and accepting of that, why would it? Well, I would say I think you've got yourself a ton of trouble in that situation. If he is a, he wasn't clear on what his position is, like if he's a Christ follower, right?

But if you're a Christ follower and you're starting to get into a relationship with someone who is not, like, you are asking for some serious trouble, right? Because you're going to get to a point of which, like, I don't know, you would like to be married. And that's going to be a pretty big, you know, block. Yeah, before it gets to that point, he needs to introduce her to church. So, date her for a while, and then once things get a little serious, hold her hostage for Jesus. No, I… Is that what you're saying? Get to know her. Get to know each other. And in doing that, okay, you'll hopefully, in that time, she'll realize, oh, yeah, you're a big church goer. You believe in all this. And hopefully you've introduced her to that and offered, yeah, come to church with me. And she's had the opportunity. If she hasn't, then, yeah, at that point, I'd say you've got to go your separate ways. Okay. Dan? I think it completely depends on where she is currently in her spiritual walk. What she's done over the previous 20 years or so, you know,

what would you expect out of someone who doesn't believe in Jesus? All that stuff's going to happen. Yeah. So if they still don't believe in Jesus, kind of bouncing off of what Pan said. I mean, if they don't believe in Jesus, I would not pursue the relationship at all. If she does, then what she's done before is irrelevant. If she's coming through an attitude of grace and through a whole new worldview than what she had prior to Christ, hey, I mean, go for it. So it really depends on where she is. Yeah. I mean, it's just like any relationship, right? Like, I mean, you've got to know what you give and what you don't give. You know what I'm saying? Then, like, I hope that no one wants to be in a relationship with, like, a manila folder, something that will be whatever you want it to be, right? Because that's not a relationship. Like, then all you're just getting a man canvas of which I can paint the appropriate man that I would be willing to deal with and have him just be amenable to me. Like, be who you are. If who you are is a Christ follower, then that's you, and that's the situation that you're bringing there.

Like, whether it works out or not largely depends as to whether she fits that, you know, your worldview. And if she doesn't, then you're not, it's not meant to be until somebody's situation changes. Hopefully hers, for the Christ perspective, not you to be a rampant pagan. And so, like, you know what I'm saying? Like, but some of this thought is, you know, will this work out? Like, what do we have to do to make this work? Well, maybe it doesn't. I mean, maybe it's not the right fit. But, like, people, here's what I think. I think people generally know what they want. I think people generally understand people that they can get along with, people that have the opportunity for a long-term relationship. But I think people in a desire for companionship and love and partnership, try to force things. And when you try to force things that don't go together, things break. That's what happens when you force things. I have my, I broke my headphone jack thing off into my phone. And then I got stuck. And now my phone thought my headphones were in all the time. So I couldn't get any phone calls except because it felt my headphone was in.

And then I tried to go after it with super glue. And that was a mistake. Because eventually I took it to the guy at the repair shop. And he says, hey, man, did you put super glue down this hole? And I said, Chuck, I don't want to answer that question. Because when you force things, they break. I don't know. Ladies' perspective? Your core values have to match. If your core values match, any relationship will work, no matter what your past looks like. Trey and I come from two very different backgrounds. He was raised within the church. I was not. I made choices at a younger age. And Trey made his. But our core values are what made our relationship so strong so fast. Is that we agreed on the things that really matter. Once you see that those match, everything else should be a piece of cake. But, I mean, if those core values don't match, it will never work.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So, let's see what the worldly wisdom is. It depends on whether the two of you can have a meeting of the minds as well as a meeting of the hearts and whether you are flexible enough to accept her just as she is and vice versa. All right, then. I met a single gal at work, and we enjoy each other's company. Seems like an old soul, this one. Here we go, last one. An old soul. An old soul. What's this? Oh, this one looks stupid. Hold on a second. Let me pick out a different one. This is a terrible question. This guy doesn't need advice.

He needs an iron to the forehead. Sorry. Are you making a mic with the punch to Jesus? I might have overdone it there. Hold on a second. Iron to the forehead. Oh, hey, Dan. Thanks for hanging out. We've got some internet connection problems. I think we're probably on our own here tonight. That's all right. JC's there? Oh, there we go. It's like a show when there's nobody here, but yet there's people here. Yeah, sweet. Really awesome. Sorry, our internet connection is running really poorly tonight, so even my references are going slow. Oh, I hate it when that happens. We're making some progress. I don't know.

I don't know, Spangler. What are you thinking? How are you feeling today? You feeling all right? I'm feeling good. Hey, you're going to have to move that thing and talk right into it. Huh? Huh? I noticed that you had it mixed for Ann, so I was trying not to… No, no, no. You're fine. You're fine. He's a professional. You're never going to get a woman like that. You've got to move in. You've got to go for it. Did you say I'm never going to get a woman like that? Yeah. You've got to scoot in. Dude, I don't care.

Put your lips out. I'm not worried about it. Why not? Maybe the Lord wants you to have a woman. You shouldn't be so ambivalent about it. Well, I just… Can't lead a family you don't have there. If we're really going to… Air piece? I don't know if we should even start this. Why? Do you have a prospect? No, I don't. Tell me about it. I don't in any way have a prospect. Come on. Tell me about it. No, seriously, I don't. Which way does your hair flow in the wind? You know you know it.

If you're a Viking, do you need a prospect? Don't you just grab one? Don't you just kind of like, yep, that'll work. No. I don't know if I ever want family or relationship like that. It's something that I have actually kind of been praying about lately. Because I don't know if I want to get married. I don't know if I want a family. I don't know if I want a relationship like that. Why not? And I'm not saying that because I disagree. I'm just… I'm interested. Wait. When you say you're interested… I am attached. What? I'm interested in being his non-relationship? I thought we should clarify. I don't understand.

We're in a new era. Clarify where we're talking about here. What interest do you have here, Ben? Hold on a minute. No one could mistake that. Troy goes, I'm not sure I want a relationship like that. I say, I'm interested. The only thing I could potentially be interested in is being his non-relationship partner. Okay. You got me. Maybe I get that gutter shovel, Dan. Wasn't that in the… Get the old mind out of it. Wasn't that in the A.T. Maybe he's looking for a dude-on-dude relationship. Maybe that's what he's doing. All right. Come out with it. Tell me about your business. I'm going to get up on your grill about your relationship, Steph.

That's fine. I'm not shy and really don't care too much about talking about it. I just… I don't know. And obviously, I know that… I don't want anyone thinking to themselves, you know, he's young. He has no idea what's going on. I know that I don't know what's going on with relationships. I've never been in a serious relationship before. I know that I have no clue how to be in a relationship with a woman. Now, do you feel like that's a failure if you're wanting to get close to the microphone? Do you feel like that's part of it? I thought it was plenty loud right there. There you go. I'm just checking. I don't know how ladies feel about that. I know how I feel. My apologies there, Ben. I just don't know if I… I don't know if I ever want to be in a relationship from what I've seen.

And that's not necessarily just me, just all around. I don't know if I'm cut out for a relationship with any woman in a point of being married at all, having family at all. Obviously, I would love to be a father someday. But at the same time, it's not the biggest thing on my list. Having a girlfriend, a wife, a fiance, anything, a woman in my life in general is not anywhere on my list right now. I don't care. I don't want that. I'm focused too much on myself right now to get myself taken care of and where I want to be, not necessarily from a success standpoint, but I'm trying to strengthen my relationship with God. I'm trying to lose weight. I'm trying to better myself at my work because I'm obviously still there. And I think that's a God thing that I'm still there. Lord knows they probably should have fired me by now. I would have. And I know you would have. That's okay. I'm very focused on myself right now and I don't want to in any way ruin someone in a

relationship because of that. Because I don't know if I'm mature enough right now in any way, shape, or form to have a relationship right now because I am very focused on myself. I feel like I barely have time enough for me and God right now. So where am I to fit a relationship into that? And frankly, I don't want to in any way, shape, or form. It's not that I'm longing for a relationship but don't think it's going to work. I don't want a relationship at all. I'm happy with being completely single and not having anyone that I need to worry about. I have family, obviously, and sitting next to me is my future to be sister-in-law. I'm so excited about that. I'm so excited about gaining siblings. I love spending time with my family, love spending time with Trey, love spending time with Brandon, but that's my family. I don't need to bring anyone else to do that. I love the family that I've got now. Maybe 10 years down the line, I'm going to be looking back on myself saying, what did I know? I mean, I had no idea what I was talking about. I didn't know what a relationship was.

I didn't know what love was. I didn't know what family was, blah, blah, blah. That may happen. But right now, I've just not seen it. And who knows? But you just don't know. Right. That could all change next week. It could change in 10 years. Tomorrow, God could completely transform my life to where I'm like, you know what? I really feel like something's missing. I feel like I need a spouse. And maybe 10 years from now, I'm going to be saying back to, I don't want a relationship at all. So I don't know. If God wants it to happen, I'm more than willing to go where God wants me to go. That's healthy. God calls me and says, hey, I want you to move to China tomorrow. And I'm going to go be a missionary to China. Cool.

If God says, no, you're going to have a family here and you're going to be the corner or you're going to be as best of a cornerstone as you can be for that family, that's what you're going to do. So I'm trying to keep myself open to what God wants and not what I want. All right. I accept the answer. Cool. You've got some thoughts. Sam, I'm not really worried. If you honestly have thoughts, I want to hear them. I think he likes white bread. He's afraid that a lady will change and make him eat wheat bread. I eat wheat bread. He's telling lies on the radio. And can attest to that. And you don't want to be like with the mic. What are the odds that I hit this one? All right. Good. We've got eight minutes in the show left, and I don't want to give this more than eight

minutes. It could go where it's not supposed to. Dear Life in the Path, my wife and I are the parents of three young boys, age 11, 8, and 3. My wife often walks around our bedroom and bathroom naked or topless with lacy underpants. I feel it is appropriate for her to walk around in this manner and that she should take care to cover up, especially in front of the older boys. What do you think? How old is she? It does not say. She has ages 11, 8, and 3. Around her 30s. Yeah, yeah. It's inappropriate. It doesn't matter how old she is. I would just be a dorky. Leaving over the possibility of… Wait, let's say it walks around our bedroom. It's their bedroom. Oh, they said in front of the boys, though.

See, that's what I… He said, my wife often walks around our bedroom and bathroom naked. I feel it is inappropriate. She should take care to cover up, especially in front of the older boys. The question is, are the older boys hanging out in their bedroom? Yeah. First of all, I've never in my life heard of a guy say, I'd appreciate it if my wife wore more clothes in front of me. Correct. I've never in my life heard that. No. Of course, I don't have a lot of conversations with guys about this, but… Oh, that's true. Let's just say I've never had that conversation. I've never thought of either. I've never thought, man, if you could just put on a turtle neck, that'd be awesome. So, I'm already… I'm a little bit having troubles with… Although, he's thinking about the boys, and that would be creepy. Yeah.

Even with girls. I got girls. I'd be like, I don't walk around naked. I mean, you know… There's just no reason for it. If the girls are gone, we let her fly. Sure, sure. No, yeah. Just to annoy Cheryl, as a matter of fact. Look at this. You probably didn't know that. You probably didn't know that. Hey, there's nobody on, so I can say this. That's true. Oh, sorry. It's not even a very good visual, so… You probably didn't even know that. Don't ever go into Dan's house, Harnby. No doubt. You know the girls are gone to your house.

Yeah. That's true. Actually, that's a solid thought. Like, as soon as your youngest daughter graduates… I'm never coming over. That's a good idea. There is danger of going over to the Hudson Castle. If you don't want to be mentally impaired for… I live here. I'll do what I want. Personally, I would not have suggested anyone, after I left, to go to the Engeldinger residence. I would have never said, come and announce to the Engeldinger home now that Trey and I are gone. Do not do that. Hmm. All right. Promise me. Yeah. Let's see. She should… Let's see.

If your wife enjoys… Let's see. I prefer to walk around. Yeah. Yeah. There's just not a reason for it. Like, I don't know why you would do that. You know what I'm saying? Like, I need to be free. Like, I don't… I don't know what I'm saying. This t-shirt's just so cumbersome. It's like, what? You know? Just holds everything in too much. Like, what? You know, here's the deal. There's a sacrifice you make with having kids. And part of the sacrifice is how easily you get to go about your naked business. It's just a little…

You got to be a little more crafty about it. You got to wait till kids fall asleep or go to the neighbor's house or lock to the bathroom. I get all the above. I'm just saying, like, it's just one of the… You don't have kids if you want to walk around in the nude in L.A.C. on these. Because, you know… Go to the neighbor's house to be nude? Yeah, I was going to say. I would send the kids to the neighbor's house so I could be nude. Now I know why I don't want to be in a relationship. I was trying to figure it out. Now it's clear. I know now. Just get some agreeable neighbors. The older they are, the better. They're more likely… They, A, understand what's up. And, B, they like kids. Send them… Get some candy.

Send them over. Cough drops. All right, all right. Pants, any advice? What do you think? She needs to put the clothes on. Don't be such a prude. We were a family of three boys growing up. And I have no images of my mom. That would have just freaked me out. Yeah. You know? I mean, I just never saw anything like that. I mean, I would never would have… Who knows what I would have went through my mind. Like, oh, I mean, it's just like… Yeah, no guy wants to see their mom. I know. It's like, it's a mom. Moms can't look like that.

Because they're all old enough. They're not going to go storming in the bedroom. Like, there's something that… There's something that… I wonder why. I wonder why she does that. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's a… I wonder what makes her think this is fine. Or, like, why would you want your… And I get, like, from a mom perspective… I mean, there's a… Up to a certain age… I mean, that's not much past five, probably. If you're being really lenient of, like, mother bonding stuff and breastfeeding. Like, I get that part. But, like, I mean, seriously, 11? Yeah, that's creepy. Why would you… Like, I wouldn't want to…

No, that's fine. I mean, I used to take showers with the girls. But, you know, like, not that long. Yeah, that's a long time. If it was enough that I had to still hold them, you know, if they could stand, they'd be like, you know, we don't need any of that going on. All right. All right. Here we go. Secular advice. Oh, sorry. Ladies' perspective. I just don't know why. I'm uncomfortable being naked in front of Brandon, and he's one and a half. And he doesn't know the difference between boys and girls yet. And, I mean, I was raised in a house with my four sisters and my mother with only two younger boys. And I have one vivid memory of a sister naked, and it was on accident that she forgot to lock the door. But, I mean, we didn't…

We weren't naked around each other. Yeah, yeah. To give up the right to privacy when you have kids, just get a lock on your door. Yeah. If you want to be naked, lock your door. Yeah. You don't need to strut around. I'm not comfortable in front of myself. I mean, naked, you know? Actually, I say that. There's a real sexy guy in the mirror who's always looking at me. Yeah, that's how I am, too. I get lost in my eyes. I'm looking at him. He's looking at me, and I'm like… And he always leaves when I leave, so I got to assume he found something else to do. I'm just not attractive. You can't do anything about it. That's the reason I wear layers. All right.

Secular advice. Although families have different standards regarding nudity, I think a touch of modesty is the best policy. If your wife enjoys being nude or topless in the confines of your bedroom and bathroom, she should keep the door shut and ask that the boys knock and ask permission before entering. Completely fair. All right. You've been listening live from the Path. We're broadcasting from the Interim Pathway Studios here and in the midst of a non-24-7, but still highly effective prayer room. I want to thank our special guest for the night, Pants Whetstone. Pants, that's two weeks in a row, buddy. Thanks for coming in. Thanks for still having me. Okay. You're welcome. Give us some more of that smooth baritone. Say, I wouldn't quack like a duck unless I was a duck. Say it. I wouldn't quack like a duck unless I was a duck.

That's awesome. All right. Touch. It was great. It was great. Troy, thanks again for joining us. It's a pleasure. Hey. Don't mistreat my microphone. This is why you can't get a woman. You ask me about it and then mock me. And it's always good to have a lady's opinion. Thanks for coming by. You have been listening to live. Well, no one's really listening. Good if you were. We've been pretending you've been listening to live from the Path. If you're on the podcast. I have been listening to live from the Path. I'm glad to be here.

Catch the front of the show. We've got to see whether guys are in this thing or not. We will catch you next week because we're going to press on. Do we have a guest? Because I have one. If you don't have one, I have one. I will double check. I think we might. Wait. Who do you got? I don't know. The guy from Child's Heart? Yeah. All right. Shane Vanderhart. All right. Shane Vanderhart may be here. He can come in the next two weeks. Nice to get back on. All right.

Either way, we're going to have a guest. Let's do that. We're definitely having a guest next week. Hopefully, Shane. Maybe somebody else. You've been listening to live from the Path. Have a wonderful week. Quack. Quack. I'm all out of love. I'm so lost without you. I know you weren't right. Right. I know you weren't right. I know you weren't right. I know you weren't right. I know you weren't right. I know you weren't right. I know you weren't right. I know you weren't right.

I know you weren't right. Thank you.
