Matthew Loftus's road to mission medicine

Guest Matthew Loftus introduces himself: he grew up outside Baltimore, was homeschooled, and felt called to long-term cross-cultural missions at 17 while in Kenya. He pursued family medicine as the way to serve, completed four years of medical school and three years of residency, spent about a year in South Sudan before the security situation forced his family out, and is now joining a university faculty in Kenya to help build a family medicine residency program. He also describes how having kids on the mission field opened conversations and made him a more humble doctor.
