• What is the appropriate response when acquaintances compliment my wig without knowing about my cancer?

A listener recently diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy writes that her wig fools acquaintances, who compliment her hair and ask what she did differently; one person touched her hair. She prefers not to share her diagnosis. The hosts advise a simple 'I'm just trying something new' since over-explaining sounds fishy, and read the Secular answer: she is not obligated to discuss medical information, 'thank you' should have sufficed, and a stylist can thin out an over-full wig.
