The wild-shirt conference story: attention addiction

A voice tells of wearing a deliberately wild shirt — a tiled collage of pictures of Dan in other shirts — to day one of a conference in Ohio, drawing love-or-hate attention all day, then switching back to earth tones for the rest of the week. He wonders whether some influencers do the same with surgery: craving attention and conversation, 'like, I got my wild shirt. I just can take my shirt off' — except the influencer's permanent body changes can't be removed. The appeal: don't push him away — 'I'm so glad he found a church that said, hey. Come on in.'
