Ask the pastor: Saul and the medium of Endor
- Was it really Samuel that the medium of Endor brought up, or a demon?
The ask-the-pastor segment tackles 1 Samuel 28: after Samuel's death, Saul has a medium at Endor bring up Samuel's spirit, and the questioner wants to know whether it was really Samuel or a demonic counterfeit. The hosts weigh both readings — one leans toward it being permitted by God with real prophetic content, another allows for a demon — and agree the takeaway is to stay out of the occult entirely. Comedy tangents: whether Jesus counts as a 'necromancer' for raising Lazarus, the band name 'Righteous Necromancy,' and 'lunchromancy' for the loaves-and-fishes multiplication.
