Dan rejects the premise that the New Testament God differs from the Old: 2 Peter 2 retells Sodom and Gomorrah and Noah's flood — "he'll do it again." Our sterile modern culture (meat in cellophane, violence kept at a distance) makes us project "love and puppies and rainbows" onto God. Mike pushes back that Jesus' inviting words — leaving the ninety-nine, "let the little children come," "my burden is light" — genuinely pull people that direction.
