False doctrine vs. difference: the Jesus-identity line
Ben draws the split line: not identity-of-Christ issues, and almost nothing Paul or the other writers faced would have merited a split. But where a teaching obscures who Jesus is, there is no equivocating — "we shall split on this," because that splits with Jesus, not with each other. Misunderstanding Jesus means misunderstanding yourself.
