Intentionality, distraction, and Mr. Prayer Closet

Mike answers that the high-point feeling comes from intentionality and lack of distraction: at events you don't know where your phone is and you're surrounded by people doing the same thing, while daily worship happens while driving or feeding the dog with the phone as a 'distraction machine.' He grants the bodily power of the gathered church ('two or more are gathered') but argues the gap is closer than we think — we just can't find the intentionality at home, where solo worship feels 'borderline ridiculous.' He confesses that twenty years ago he mocked 'mister prayer closet' types, and now: 'Here I am twenty years later... I got a room.'
