Barna survey: half of millennial Christians say it's wrong to evangelize

  • Is it wrong to share one's personal beliefs with someone of a different faith in hopes that they will one day share the same faith?
  • Are millennial Christians really anti-evangelism, or are they just rejecting outdated methods and language?

A host reads a Christianity Today summary of Barna Group research: nearly half of practicing Christian millennials say it is wrong to share one's personal beliefs with someone of a different faith in hopes they will one day share the same faith (47% of millennials vs 27% Gen X, 19% boomers, 20% elders), yet 96% say witnessing for Jesus is part of being a Christian and consider themselves good at it. The hosts flag the caveat: the survey question was more specific than the headline's 'wrong to evangelize'.
