- My nephew's wife took my $600, lied about it, and is avoiding me. Should I say something or let it go?
Mike reads a letter from someone who gave a nephew's wife $600 for a self-propelled lawnmower; she spent it, never bought the mower, and now avoids them. The advice is twofold: confront it plainly without lecturing, and if the money truly doesn't matter, go buy them the mower anyway, letting gracious action do what lectures can't. Ben recounts Rosaria Butterfield's story of Sunday-night dinners leading a skeptical lesbian English professor to Jesus over a year and a half. The Secular answer (drop the subject, give no more money) is acknowledged but rejected in favor of generosity.
