Ask the Pastor answered: how pastors decide what to teach
Boova's question finally gets answered. Dan (speaker-3), who began preaching forty and a half years ago, describes praying through the week and trusting God to surface the text — sometimes midweek, sometimes Sunday morning — citing Daniel as the model ('I can't tell you, but my God, my Yahweh, he can do it'). Ben (speaker-0) says he looks for the book or passage God is already working on in him, teaches the gospel with an Old Testament rotation to reawaken wonder, and insists intentionality is not anti-holy: 'If you're intentional and you're prayerful, then you still have the best of both worlds.' A third answer — labeled speaker-0 but responding to Boova's 'What about you, Mike?' (seg-00417), an apparent diarization merge of Mike's turn — describes teaching at a youth group by praying beforehand and trusting the Holy Spirit to supply the week's topic. The through-line: spend time with God first, then teach out of that.

Ben asks Mike for a two-sentence framing; Mike says listening to the book of Job while mowing made him furious when Bildad 'received a word from the Lord,' turning a bad human argument into an unarguable divine claim.

- How can you tell the difference between you speaking and God speaking?
