Mike's riff on medical knowledge versus a natural death

Mike muses aloud that sometimes knowledge feels like the enemy — people get saved at 75 only to be saved from cancer next, when they might have just clocked out and met Jesus. He invokes his wife's grandfather, who never saw a doctor, learned at 80 he had cancer everywhere, and was gone a week later. If he could choose, he says, apart from a heroic death, he would just clock out quietly — and notes he has an event on his calendar for his 75th birthday that says 'start smoking.'
