Context we miss: clearing the neighborhood and stories we never hear
Boova continues: God wasn't just clearing apartments for Israel — he "moved light into the neighborhood" by judging pervasive Canaanite evil. The ark toppling Dagon's statue showed surrounding nations whose God this was; and we only get some stories — Judges says everyone did right in their own eyes, so false prophets abounded that we never hear condemned. He jokes that every random Chilean earthquake will now make him wonder whether a false prophet was out in the Andes.
