Church hurt and recklessly loving the antagonistic
Ben says he has met real turds in Christian communities but never concludes the Lord failed him — “Steve has failed me” — because a healthy view of Jesus makes you gracious toward fallible humans. Dan describes looking at an antagonistic person and choosing to recklessly love them the way Jesus does, using a fountain image: some people want the coins or the breeze around the fountain rather than the fountain itself, and when the winds blow only Jesus remains.
