Church shopping and the casino-ification of church
Mike's family does everyday life in their town but worships where they came from; churches trade people over the worship pastor, the preaching, or childcare. Dan compares engineered church atmospheres to casinos — the smell, the lighting, the sound — growing by poaching other churches' people and calling it evangelism. Ben recounts a frustrated church-shopper he refused to recruit: "I'm not out to move dissatisfied Christians to our place." Mike: if you know the difference, stay and show them where they misunderstand Jesus. Ben: where Jesus is in the boat, it is never a sinking ship.
